Such an ingenious book. Superficially it's about a writer who steals another writer's plot when he hears he's died without using it. The book is a huge success, but then he starts receiving on-line messages from someone who professes to know what he's done. It's a page turner but it also says a lot about the writing process and how authors function, which is interesting for any writer. As far as 'the plot' went, I guessed 'who did it' a good way before the end, but it didn't matter too much. The book was far more than just a thriller.
Not sure why there isn’t an English entry for this book on Goodreads. Read for Bookclub and I think I tried to read earlier but could not get past first chapter or two. While on the second attempt it still dragged along at the beginning I kept going because two folks had highly recommended plus it was for Bookclub. Not sure what I really think about it and don’t want to say too much to spoil the plot line. Giving it a three as I really wasn’t engaged and the main character wasn’t very likable which isn’t a criticism, it just made it harder to care what might transpire.
This was a difficult story. I suspected what was going on and I needed to find out. But it was a psychologically stressful story. Did Jake steal the story?
