When A Man Loves A Woman

Rate this book
True love – though some claim they want no parts of it because of the heartache they’ve endured or witnessed in its quest – we all either boldly or secretly desire it. Yearn for it. It’s part of human nature. But imagine having it – true love, that so many seek – for it to be taken away in a blink. At thirty-nine years old, Zion’s life hasn’t been the same since his loss. But unexpectedly, on a mundane day, thirty-two-year-old Kalena walks into his life, giving him a glimmer of hope.

Kalena x Zion

This was a good read. When I think of Christian fiction, this is more what I have in mind. It’s real, it’s raw and filled with emotions. Zion suffered a great loss. He decided after that experience, the best way to live is a minimalist lifestyle. Gave up his home for a van, and his master's degree job as an accountant for a minimum wage job at the dollar. Zion was just numb, existing, but not living. He was a master at being a recluse, that is until he met the beauty Kalena. Kalena was a sweetheart. Although she had a pretty traumatic past, Kalena was in the process of being healed. She was kind, she was gentle, and a deep lover of Christ. It was easy and no wonder Zion started to feel things when it came to her.
This story started strong and developed well, then towards the end, it was rushed. Still an enjoyable read!

Beautiful

This is a beautiful story of healing and forgiveness. Zion and Kalena have both been hurt and are looking for something when they find each other. God's grace and mercy brought them through all their trials and tribulations. It healed them and brought them together. This is an amazing story .

Amazing!

Wow it been a minute since I read a Christian Novel that I truly enjoyed . The characters are down to earth and relatable. When reading Zion’s living environment completely took me back then when I was Binging the videos of people living in there van/car. This read had enough drama and intimacy to make me not miss the hot and steamy sex scenes I look forward to. However, I was like after their married I wanna see some hot and steamy details.

…Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul…”

God’s love for him would sustain him. God doesn’t want bad things to happen to us, but it’s part of the fallen world we live in.”

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world,” Pastor Simmons reads 1 John 4:1. “I believe this Scripture isn’t only about false prophets distorting the Word of God – but also false, godly spirits among the people we associate with. Not everyone who presents themselves as having our best interest truly does. And this is where we must rely on the Holy Spirit to give us the spirit of truth to reveal the people and things we need to eliminate from our lives…”

God does show us favor. We have to put our trust in him and he will show us what he is capable of.

We must forget what is behind and strive for what is ahead. “God doesn’t want us stuck in despair because He knows it’s not good for us to be there. He has great plans for our future.

Zion is truly an example of the saying you should never judge a book by its cover.

I absolutely love Zion and Kalena!!!!!

YES

YES! YES! YES! You need to read this. Be reminded of how good God is, despite everything. I feel like shouting! Happy tears...
Loved this storyline and the relationships. There were so many moments I felt like praising Him. Yes, fiction, but the circumstances were relatable, along with the characters.
I loved that KC grew Zion and Kalena's relationship the Christian way. They were not only good examples for the young people in the story, but instruction on how to live God's word.
The characters and relationships were heartwarming (except for Damian and Charlotte, but that's life). Especially loved Zion and Jay's relationship, along with Kalena and her son's.
Highly recommended, even if you don't like Christian fiction. There's supporting scriptures, but the story is just phenomenal, uplifting and inspirational. And who doesn't need that?
Thanks, Ms Campbell; my heart is full.

Christian fiction at its finest.....

Ms. Campbell, I love your writing style. It's the way you incorporate the scriptures throughout the book that pulls me in every time. You use the correct ones at the right time. I have read a few of your books now and you are rocking this Christian fiction genre. The plot, character development, conflict, and the climax were on point.

Zion and Kalena were two people that needed healing from their past. They just by happen cross paths and fall for each other. Their route to "happily ever after" had quite of few pot holes and speed bumps, but they made it to the finish line.

This is a great read, you should indulge. Ms. Campbell has this genre on lock. Her penmanship and inspiration throughout her books hit you at the right moment.

Interesting Read with Interesting Characters

The author really drew me in with her story telling from great, relatable characters, to the imagery of Zion's van. This wasn't an instant romance. I enjoyed seeing things play out and come together near the end. The author did an excellent job of capturing grief and resentment. I removed one star because of grammatical errors throught the novel, and the end dragged. I'd definitely recommend this book because of the positive messages and the character growth.

New to Ms. Campbell’s books!

I’m an avid reader of romance novels and I must say that this was a good one. Great plot combined with great character development. I found Kalena and Zion to both be very strong likable characters. It’s amazing to me how so many writers make their main characters so unlikable that it’s hard to root for them. I laughed, cheered and cried for Kalena and Zion as their relationship developed. Kudos to Ms. Campbell on a well written book.

I loved it

Although there were a lot of red flags, sometimes women have to feel the flame to get the message. That is my view of this heroine in this tale. The hero was oh,my... goodness so sexxy, and a good man. Unbelievable. The spiritual experience was okay with me.

Oh My Goodness Fantastic

I loved it, loved both of the main characters. I could feel their hurt, the loss, and the pain they both suffered. But God, God had a plan for them both. In life we will have trials and tribulations but if we stand on the promises of God we will come out better on the other side. Loved all of the scriptures, if you have not read anything by this author you're missing out. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏

This was another great read from Khara Campbell about a man whose family died in a house fire, and a woman who was raped as a teen, pregnated and rejected by her parents. I love how she ties the two together and bring them to forgiveness of themselves and others. A true love story!

Heartwarming story

Kalena and Zion…Jay, Cooper and the gang. I loved this story because of how realistic they experienced a dark place but were able to heal through their faith and therapy, friends and family. I liked when Zion almost missed out on a good woman and then of course they end together. No spoilers but this needs to be a movie and I’d watch it over and over again. Great 👍🏾 job!

Don't Judge...

You can't judge a book by it's cover, literally or figuratively. At first glance, I might not have chosen this book but because I am familiar with the author's writing I could not wait to read this book and I was not disappointed. As with Zion, he may have looked one way on the outside, oh... but he was so much more than what Kalena could see with her eyes. Her heart had a much clearer view.

inspirational & hopeful

My first read by the author and I can say I was impressed! Not use to reading in the style that she wrote which was more present tense while the characters are speaking rather than past but all in all great read and storyline!

This Book Was Simply Divine!

Oh my goodness I just loved this story! I fell in love with Zion because I could so relate to him, being angry with God for your loved one being taken from you! But the joy you experience when you grow in your relationship and realize God NEVER leaves his children! Forgiveness is a difficult process and I found myself rooting for Kalena!! Please keep writing these spirit filled stories; this story was very therapeutic for me! Bless you Ms. Campbell!
