Wow! Just WOW!!!! What an incredible story I’ve been completely hooked!!
This is very different to what I normally read but I soon got sucked into the period style and I have to say I loved it! The story is fantastic, I loved how in-depth and imaginative the story became and I’m now on the edge of my seat to read book 2 in the series to find out what happens next!
The story is super hot considering it’s the tale of a virgin but I love the fact it really brings to life that she has desires too. This is written so incredibly well you feel completely consumed by her feelings and you have literally no idea what is coming next!

Wow! What an action packed book! Lots of lust, threats, rivalry and just plain fun. The characters came to life in front of my eyes. When I saw the list of characters I never thought I’d keep them straight in my head but, Betty Shreffler has such a fantastic ability to involve me in her plots that I had no trouble at all remembering a single one.
Fiora is such a feisty, strong, warrior princess that I’ve fallen in love with her. She loves her subjects, her land and wants nothing but to become their Queen and rule with a loving, steady hand.
Matheas is also a warrior; he is passionate about his Princess and his country. As Fiora’s guard he has been by her side for many years. Their love is palpable.
The plot is superb and had me turning the pages as fast as I could to find out what happens next.
I love Betty’s stories and I recommend you read this asap.

This story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. We’re given a great blend of a reverse harem, romance as well as non stop action and adventure. Fiora wants to follow her heart but she’s out into a predicament where if she takes that path the consequences will effect so many others whom reside in Anauka. I’m #TeamMatheas all the way, this man gives his all and then some. To be so close yet so far away from your desires is truly a struggle. Kellan is my favorite of the suitors and second up would be Luther, the others give me those questionable vibes and I’m curious as to what they’re truly feeling. Holy cliffhanger btw! I’m DYING to find out what happens next. Absolutely adored this story and highly recommend you grab your copy.

Wow!! I love this book! It is so intense, it captivates from the beginning to the end. Ms Shreffler's writing takes you to a different place, she brings her characters to life through her books. Claimed Royalty is a phenomenal book full of suspense and hot steamy romance scene. Ms Shreffler ending has an exceptional twist. You will want to read this book. I am waiting patiently waiting for her next one. I highly recommend this book to all my friends.

Ms. Shreffler has become a favorite author for me, and I enjoy her books so much, but this one is so completely different than her others. I literally was consumed from start to finish. I honestly don’t think I did anything at all, until after I finished, but oh my God, it was so, so worth it. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars.
It’s time for Fiora to step into the role of queen, but she has to go through her trials first. She has to follow the rules, but deep down, there is so much more that she wants, besides the role of being Queen of Auaukin. She loves her people, but there is someone she loves just a little more, but the odds are stacked against them both.
From the epic trials, to the suitors, and then to the downright sexy Matheas protecting her, this book is packed full of intense moments and true passion. I don’t want to give too much away, but this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I kept waiting for Fiora to finally get her HEA, but then the ending!! AHHH! I didn’t see the cliffhanger coming the way it did, and believe me, I cannot wait to see how this magical story is going to end.

Claimed Royalty was Exciting and New! I really enjoyed the world Shreffler has created! Strong female heroine, Check Check! I loved Fiora! She is a warrior princess, made to be Queen! I loved how strongly she cared for her people and lengths she has gone through all these years to prepare herself for the future. I felt all her love and confusion. Shreffler really does a remarkable job connecting her reader to the character. I so badly wanted change for her, I wanted her to be free to love who she wanted without the tradition of having to choose from the Royals. Matheas is so easy to fall in love with. He has loved Fiora for many years and will protect her at all cost, even her future! Ahh! My heart bled for these too! Torn by duty, her duty to her people and his duty to keep her safe. Intoxicating, filled with love, angst, lust, and suspense! Fiora's trials she has to go through are impressive and brutal, so much action. Lust, this book has plenty of it! Fiora must be courted by the Son's from the four Royal families, and things get very interesting! Be sure to read at your own risk and in front of a fan too! My heart definitely swooned for Kellan and Luther. Kellan was fun and a welcome distraction. Luther was charming and he has captured my interest and my suspicion. I cannot put into words how exciting Claimed Royalty is! Most definitely a MUST read! I have to know what happens next! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had the honour of beta reading on this book.
If I’m being totally honest I’m not really into this genre, if you’re into The Hunger Games but with bring the heat factor, then this is the book you're looking for.
The book gives you descriptive activities of the harsh trials that are undertaken, the pressure she feels about being the future Queen. The massive decisions she has to make over the hot, handsome, sexy suitors, the heartbreak she faces over not being able to follow her heart and then there's the hot sexual scenes.

Fiora has waited her whole life to become Queen of Anaukin with her loyal guardsman Matheas by her side she can conquer anything. She faces the most gruelling Trials to prove her worth, but she’s yet to face the hardest one of all - choosing a King. The one she wants in Matheas but he’s not a Royal, he's the true King of her heart.
With her hand forced who will she choose out of the select options given to her?
Will they be happy with her choice?
Will the losers not reigning of throne be sore losers?
When her life is thrown into turmoil who will still be standing by her side?

This was not what I was expecting when I heard there was a new book coming.......I mean really, she's wowed me with Paranormal, MC, Contemporary, we've had all the range of emotions, at least I thought so!
Fiora is an amazing woman, raised to be the future Queen, her whole life has been regimented and controlled, even to the point that her purity is monitored. She still grew to be an amazing woman people were loyal to, first and most loyal, her Arms Man...Matheas.
And I just, well crap.......don't wanna spoil, wanna share the love.....arrgggghhh!!!
Sigh, since I really can't think of anything that won't spoil......going to just say the following......read it, enjoy it, curse her if you must and be like me.......can we have more now please!?

This is going to be a short review and sort of sketchy. To say a lot would be giving this away so that's why I won't say much. Fiora is the soon to be Queen and must chose a King from the Royal House. Even though Matheas is her true love, she can't chose him because he isn't of the Royal House! Or can she? This was a totally unexpected story for me from Betty Shreffler and it took me by surprise. The details, the twists, the turns.... all made for a book that I couldn't put down. The ending is a cliffhanger but I'm assured that the second part is coming really soon so yes, GET THIS BOOK!!

Claimed Royalty by Betty Shreffler is action packed, suspenseful and sexy! The swirling danger had me at the edge of my seat. Think The Hunger Games, Spartacus and Game of Thrones all rolled into one!! The world of Anauka has a bit of everything. It's the first book in Betty's new fantasy series. It's filled with a lot information, vivid details and many character introductions.
All of it forming this new imaginative world.
It was refeshing to read about a princess who would ultimately be the mighty Queen of her kingdom with all the power!
Fiona the Princess of Anauka was a leader not a follower. Strong, smart and fierce. A real woman that could hang with boys and even take them down. She treated everyone as her equal and her people adored her.
Before she could be Queen, she must pass a series of trials. Along with picking a suitable prince from one of the royal houses to be her king. One big problem, she's in love with someone who is not a royal! Can she risk it all for true love or put her obligation in front of her happiness?
Her bodyguard and bestfriend since childhood Matheas is her fervent protector and loyal solider! He has been by her side through it all. I loved Matheas! Total alpha. His love and respect for Fiona was palpable. Together they faced Fiona's toughest challenges to be queen....
The suitor phase had all the royal candiates desperately trying to get Fiona's interest....
Each of them brought something different to the table. Smart, handsome and worldly.

Fiora is a royal preparing to become Queen of Anaukin with a lot of pressure to find a suitable husband from neighboring royal families. The problem is that her heart lies with her devoted bodyguard Matheas. She is put through trials that rival the Hunger Games, just to prove herself worthy of being queen. She has to date the different royal suitors in a manner similar to the bachelor, and some of them have more to offer than others in terms of personality, power, and let’s face it – sheer heat of passion.
This book is full of adventure, romance, royal intrigue, tears, laughter, secrets, and hot sneaky intimacy. It was so good that I truly had a hard time putting it down and I cannot wait until the next installment. The cliffhanger will make you want to sit on the edge of your seat and scream, but thankfully Betty Shreffler has assured us that the wait for Twice Claimed, the second installment, will be a short one. I was honored to receive an advanced reader copy of this book. It most definitely was an engaging and wonderful read. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in romantic intrigue.

Honestly I was surprised. I didn't expect this story to take place in an imaginary realm but it really gave more depth and layers to this lovely tale.
I loved Fi and Matheas. Their love for one another seeped through the pages. I loved Fiora's heart, quick wit and backbone. She truly was perfect to lead her people.
I loved Fi's father, the King but hated her mother, the Queen for her antics. She obviously didn't have a warm and affectionate relationship with her daughter and despite being in a very much loving relationship with the King she is determined to force Fi into a possibly loveless but politically beneficial arranged marriage.
Even though I rooted for Matheas above all it seemed to me everything that happened opened other hot and spicey possibilities worth discover in the next book(s).

I was honored to receive an arc of this book. I've loved all of Betty's other books. This book is different but left me in emotional turmoil. I was left feeling so many emotions from Fiora and Matheas. Fiora is meant to be Queen and loves Matheas who is her man of arms. Then when you think you know what's going to happen 4 suitors come into the picture. I found myself rooting for 2 of the suitors and the twist and turns this books took left me wrecked. I can not wait for the next book. Betty knocked this out of the park.

Not what I expected at all, this was my first ever fantasy world themed book and I liked it.
The story has a hunger games sort of feel along with historical due to the Royal traditions and settings etc.
Claimed Royalty is Enchanting, sexy, sultry and with danger and angst.
The main characters are Princess Fiora and her bodyguard, friend and trainer Matheas.
Fiora is about to start trials, trials set by each house in a neighboring kingdom, she must complete battles, dodge fire and danger and prove herself worthy of representing her Kingdom before becoming queen then following a dating period she must choose a suitor to be by her side.
Basically, Fiora was a badass princess, skilled in many things including battle.
Following the trials, Princess Fi then has to spend time with men from each kingdom and chose a husband that will unite two kingdoms.
The problem with this tradition is Fiora is in love with her best friend and bodyguard Matheas as is he with her.
The whole plot was exciting, I can't even explain the story well enough to do it justice, the author is very descriptive and I read this with ease for a first-time reader of fantasy and I could not put it down.
There were moments of passion, Jealousy and danger and I was left with dread at the cliffhanger ending.
I hope Fiora and Matheas become free to love and Fi uses her power as Queen to overturn tradition but it was also looking like a love triangle at the end when Fi also begins to fall for one of her suitors. It was an explosive ending that's for sure.
I've not a clue were this story will go but I am eager to find out and can't wait for the next book of this trilogy.

Fiora is set to be Queen, and as Queen, she must marry. Faced with various suitors, she must spend time with each of them and decide which one will rule by her side. In addition to picking a King, she must also face trials set forth for her, and they aren't always easy, but Fiora is a strong woman, she's knowledgeable and talented in a variety of skills, so this will be quite the event for spectators.
Matheas, the man who has always been by Fiona's side, has fallen in love with her, and she returns those feelings. So while having to keep her purity, she needs to figure out how she can be with him, keep her reputation intact while becoming queen and maintaining the peace, not an easy feat.
As for the suitors, they were all unique. The heat between Luther and Fiona is great, and he doesn't seem like he's only in this for the crown. I also really like Kellan, he's kind and strong. Shreffler has given us some really great characters here.
The trials she needs to perform are creative and unique, it was a lot of fun reading what they had set up for Fiona and how she went about performing them. I love that we have such an excellent main character who is smart, witty, and cunning. I love that she goes after what she wants and isn't afraid to do it. As far as her relationship with Matheas, things are scorching hot with those two. If you're looking for mild, you aren't going to get it here.
I love the world of Anaukin that Shreffler has created, it's imaginative and fun. She's made a great world with a fun and engaging storyline, with excellent characters and the right amount of heat.
I wasn't exactly sure what to expect in reading Claimed Royalty but I love Shreffler's work and so this was high up on my TBR, I'm glad that I read this. While it does end on a cliffhanger, rumor has it we won't have long to wait to find out how Fiona has handled everything that has been thrown at her. Nicely done!
Matheas, the man who has always been by Fiona's side, has fallen in love with her, and she returns those feelings. So while having to keep her purity, she needs to figure out how she can be with him, keep her reputation intact while becoming queen and maintaining the peace, not an easy feat.
As for the suitors, they were all unique. The heat between Luther and Fiona is great, and he doesn't seem like he's only in this for the crown. I also really like Kellan, he's kind and strong. Shreffler has given us some really great characters here.
The trials she needs to perform are creative and unique, it was a lot of fun reading what they had set up for Fiona and how she went about performing them. I love that we have such an excellent main character who is smart, witty, and cunning. I love that she goes after what she wants and isn't afraid to do it. As far as her relationship with Matheas, things are scorching hot with those two. If you're looking for mild, you aren't going to get it here.
I love the world of Anaukin that Shreffler has created, it's imaginative and fun. She's made a great world with a fun and engaging storyline, with excellent characters and the right amount of heat.
I wasn't exactly sure what to expect in reading Claimed Royalty but I love Shreffler's work and so this was high up on my TBR, I'm glad that I read this. While it does end on a cliffhanger, rumor has it we won't have long to wait to find out how Fiona has handled everything that has been thrown at her. Nicely done!

Wow! This has been an amazing adventure, full of passion and intrigue. I quite enjoyed it. If you are looking for a unique, exciting, and romantic story to read then this book is definitely for you. And as always the author does not disappoint with her ability to weave a story which will keep readers on their toes and the ending will blow their minds. Seriously, I am so looking forward to reading more in this series and can't wait to see what other adventures are in store for Fiora and Matheas.

A very well-written book, I loved how well-paced it is. A great beginning, somewhat slower middle, and absolutely epic ending that will leave readers craving for more. Also, I must say that I am in love with these characters. They are brilliantly crafted, some of the best I've read in a while.

Wow. I don't know where to start. First I would say is a cliffhanger, but an awesome cliffhanger. I loved Fi and Matheas, the way they fit together. They're perfect for each other, they know that they don't have a future . Story is amazing, well written and I loved it.

This book messed with my mind and emotions. It started off great and then things got better. But then they took a turn. This author had me hooked on every word, every step of the way. I feel that needs to be said. Her writing is amazing. It flows well. The characters are properly developed. All those other things that mark a good writer, it was all here. But I started to get very nervous about where things were headed. I thought she was going to break my heart. And then, all the sudden things got crazy and intense and there was just so much going on. Now it's over and I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick my jaw up off the floor.
That was one heck of a cliffhanger. I need book two asap because I am desperate to know what happens next.
Thank you for this amazing book Betty Shreffler, but I'm going to need you to hurry and release the next one.

Fiora (Fi) a princess that is getting ready to start the trials to prove that she is worthy to become the Queen of Anauka,before her coronation. There are 4 different trials, from 4 different houses that she will participate in to prove her abilities.
Fiora also must select a husband, during the trials, she will meet a suitor from each of the houses to possibly choose her husband from. The biggest problem is that she is in love with Matheas. Matheas is her arms man that has taught her many things over the years. She must remain pure until her coronation.
There is so much more that I want to say about the book, but you must read it for yourself. You will be drawn in, and left in withdrawal waiting and pleading for the next book to come out. ❤️ I'm in love with this story, and impatiently awaiting. 😍

Claimed Royalty is a heart-wrenching story, a tearjerking pageturner that kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked the story and the characters and the writing is simply great. The story ends in a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read how Fiora's story continues. 4,5 stars.

I enjoyed the journey to a new land, and the people in it. The adventures that the princess goes thru to prove that she is to be an acceptable queen captured my interest right away. Her personal body guard grabbed my attention also right away. I could just picture his beautiful blue eyes she described. I couldn't put it down wanting to know what was in story for the princess and her body guard. I was left waiting to see what was to come next when I reached the cliff hanging end. I am sure that now the next book with their adventure is the most anticipated book for me in a long while.

This was an amazing read. Such a unique story. Definitely different than anything I’m used to. Fiona was written beautifully. She is full of grace and strength. Matheas and Luther both melted my heart. I’m anticipating the next book and excited to see where the story goes.

Claimed Royalty is the first book in the Crowned and Claimed series by Betty Shreffler. This is a little different from the other books of hers that I have read. It is a really great romantic fantasy with some sci-fi elements woven through it. It made for a great chance of ‘scenery’ and pace for me- throwing me into a wonderful ‘new’ world to explore- and introducing me to a brilliant cast of quirky characters.
Ms. Shreffler once again proves what a great author she is, by transporting me into an exquisitely detailed world which she crafted so masterfully. She builds such incredible imagery- building beautiful landscapes and weaving vividly descriptive and intricately detailed scenes. From walking the palace halls and grounds , to the excitement and action of the ‘trials’, and even horse riding – were so vivid, that I really felt as if I were right there with Fiora and Matheas as their story played out. Everything came to life before my eyes- in a completely immersive and believable way!
There are a lot of characters, lots of detail, and a lot going on- but everything is stitched together quite smoothly and seamlessly- and was very easy to read. This was such a wonderful, action-packed, intense, and sizzlingly hot read. I am never disappointed by anything Ms. Shreffler writes, as I am always completely captivated by her stories and unable to put them down.
This story was a wonderful surprise, and while it was a little slow to get going, the pace soon picked up and I really enjoyed the ride! And OMG!!!- That ending!!! I really need the next book ASAP so I can find out what happens next. Can't wait for BOOK #2- Twice Claimed!!!!
