While I liked a lot of the thoughts and ideas that are shared in this handy little book, my loudest complaint is how can a book about clothing style – describing how to wear shirts, skirts, dresses, coats, shoes, jewelry, hats, scarves, etc. – not have even one photograph to accompany the description of all these items?

The author, who is a fashion journalist and former fashion editor, should know better. Photos or at least realistic illustrations, not cartoony drawings, were a must for this book. But were perplexingly missing. Walsh interviewed “some of the most creative women from around the world.” These women shared their tips on how to dress with confidence and how to lead a stylish life. Yet there were no photos of them or the clothes they described as their “go-to” looks. Also, none of these women cared what anyone else thought of what they wore or how they looked, or so they said. I found that hard to believe.

This was a tough book to rate – lots of information and advice, but almost worthless without visuals to illuminate the descriptions. Giving it 2 stars – it was OK.

Thiệt sự là ráng đọc lắm luôn nhưng mà cũng không hiểu lắm vì cách hành văn và nhiều nhân vật quá nên mình bị ngộp. Ngoài ra sách ít tranh ảnh các món đồ thực tế mà chỉ có minh hoạ nên mình cũng khó hình đung được khi phối với nhau nó sẽ trông thế nào và tại sao nên mix match như vậy. Thông điệp cuốn sách hay nhưng thiệt tình là không đáng giá để bỏ ra mua sách. Thay vào đó có thể đọc hoặc tham khảo trên tạp chí thì hay hơn. À, người dịch cũng hơi rối nên mình bị loạn theo nhân vật và các từ mới về thời trang luôn.

I read this book under the title, Know Your Style, Mix it, Match it, Love it. That's what on the cover of the Goodreads title too, but I found it under This Goes With That on Goodreads. Although this had great opinions about clothing and style, it wasn't as good in my opinion as her first book. So, this one was ok, but not great. I did love her first book.
