The Cruise #1

My Suite or His Cabin?

Rate this book
A vacation fling was the plan.
Falling for him wasn’t.

They say what happens on a cruise stays on a cruise.
I’m starting to hope they’re wrong.

Three months.
One ship.
A thousand chances to fall hard.

I signed up for adventure, not love.
Sun, sea, maybe a little trouble—that was the plan.
Then Jaxon happened.

Six foot four of messy dark hair, dark eyes, and a cocky smile that could wreck a guy in seconds.
He’s rich, gorgeous, and way out of my league.
I’m just a guy with a backpack, a dream, and a deadline.

It was supposed to be a fling.
A few stolen nights before real life called us back.
But somewhere between the sunsets and secrets, I started to want something more.

When the cruise ends, will we walk away…
or take a chance on something real?

*sighhh* DNF at 40%

It's just not holding my interest. I had hope that it would keep being interesting after it picked up a bit, but honestly the chemistry between the MC's is "meh" and honestly they're just going jet skiing, and their characters/relationship/chemistry(or lack of) just doesn't make up for the boringness of what they're doing. (Which I'm sure is exciting in real life, but to read...eh, not so much.)

I like this author so I'm surprised I didn't gel with this one, but that's just the way it goes sometimes *sigh* (I was hoping more for a 'people don't approve because you're not rich like me, but I don't care I love you anyway' but I'm not getting that vibe. Like what's the point of the rich/poor people trope (and it being in the title of the book) if it's not even really a factor in the struggle/tension of the story)

Read the Blurb And Jump Right In

This book requires a very short review because:

1) it is one of Romeo Alexander's best works;

2) you could not come up with a better contemporary rich boy-poor boy plot line; and

3) Jaxon and Tyler are wonderfully developed characters whom you will love right from the start.

The only thing I could not wrap my head around is the milieu--a three month cruise around the Caribbean? Where can I find one of those? I am soooooooo jealous.

Other than that, this one is nearly perfect and promises to kick off another superior series by Romeo Alexander.

Rich or poor who cares?
Tyler came into something Heritance so decided to go on a three month cruise. He liked to go on holiday and before he settled into his career he thought that going on a vacation it’s just he needed. When he is there he meets a man called Jaxon. He is the most stunning man he’s ever seen but because of things that happened in his past he’s not always comfortable in public.
Jackson is the son of a senator always had money always known how to have a good time. So when him and his best friends decide to go on a cruise they do it in class they each have their own suite on the same floor. Jackson can get bored and restless he always wanted to do something. On his first day he meets a man called Tyler. He can’t get over how handsome this man is. just talking to him they hit it off straight away. They take it slow and get to know one another but it isn’t long before they’re spending all the days together. They decide to have a three month relationship on the cruise. But what will happen after the cruise ??? They come from such different backgrounds Tyler is Poor and Jaxon is rich and Jaxon is very much in the limelight because of his family. Could Tyler handle that? Everyone knowing the sexuality??
I really liked Jaxon and Tyler they just made brilliant main characters in this book and I’m really really hoping in this new series we find out what on earth is going on with Jaxon’s best friends. I thought these two were perfect pair for each other bringing out the best in each other I like the banter they had and the passion was off the charts. Really enjoyed this book.

So much more than your usual holiday romance

This is the first book by Romeo Alexander that I have read and it was so good. The three months on board ship allowed the characters and their relationship to both be fully developed, and the result was a delight to read.
I have to admit that I made a snap judgment of Jaxon based on our introduction to him, thinking that he was a spoilt rich adrenaline junkie playboy who would have to change a lot to get his HEA. How wrong I was. I liked Tyler and his attitude to life right from the start. He had a completely different upbringing and outlook on life to Jaxon, but was confident and comfortable in his own skin.
The attraction between them was evident from their first meeting and their chemistry was off the charts. Their conversations were interesting, intelligent, entertaining, and very funny, showing their differences but also how much they complemented each other. Jaxon was completely charmed by Tyler, Tyler was completely charmed by Jaxon, and I was completely charmed by both of them.
Whilst the steamy scenes were very steamy, there was a real sweetness between the two men as well, and how happy they were just to be in the other's company shone through.
I loved Jaxon's four friends, Tyler's sister, and Jaxon's mother. Although we don't see much of them, their contributions to the story were important, and I'm hoping that the rest of the books in the series belong to Bryce, Matthew, Zane and Dalton.
For a short book, it didn't feel rushed at all. Their romance grew organically on board and, once back on dry land, their happy ever after made me very happy too. That's all!

Jaxon and Tyler's Vacation Experience . . .

Jaxon and Tyler led very different lives. Jaxon was the son of a Senator and socialite and was born into “old money” wealth. He lived for thrills and adventures. Tyler was an adventure-loving graduate looking for a last grand experience before starting a career. Both were set to enjoy the three-month cruise around the Caribbean and find adventure on board or wherever they stopped along the journey.

When they met each other, despite their differences, one being a detailed, practical planner and the other a wild, carefree spirit, they blended perfectly together. Each made the other completely happy. But they came from totally different backgrounds and lifestyles. Is this a vacation fling? Is it something casual they can both walk away from? Or will hearts be broken, no matter how they deal with their relationship?

Once again, the author has created a fantastic story line with real people who will instantly touch your heart. Everything about this story pulled me in, starting with the awesome title of the book that immediately puts things in perspective. The dialog was comfortable, the characters were very likable, and I always feel myself smiling or sighing as I read this author’s excellent stories. Grab your copy and don’t miss this one that will stick with you long after the last page is read.

Everyone needs a cruise like this one!

You can never go wrong with a Romeo Alexander book! These two are so sweet, fun and perfect together. Tyler may be a risk taker but he plans every detail. Jaxon is also a risk taker but doesn't plan anything. During a three month cruise these two run into each other and begin spending most of their time together. Adventures onboard the ship and at the numerous port of calls brings them closer. But, can they continue with the relationship they started on the cruise or should they end it due to living in two different income brackets? You need to read to find out how it all plays out from beginning to end, it is a fun trip. I wouldn't mind getting the stories for each of Jaxon's four friends that went on the cruise with him. I know those are some good ones too! If you haven't read either of the Fort Dale series you really should because they are fabulous!

Jaxon and Tyler could not have lead more different lives!!.. But once on the same cruise.. their worlds collide. I loved that Jaxon our rich guy.. could not wait to stray away from the rich and full of every luxury Amenity part of the ship to seek something different..which ends up being Tyler our poor guy in the "peasant" quarters.. LOL. I actually liked that this was approached in a fun light hearted way.. These two have lived completely different lives but Immediately clicked! There is a fun friendship developing with climbing and jet skiing. This turns into more and more sass and flirting.. and well.. steamy times about half way through!!! I do not want to give the whole story away! I received an ARC of this book and I recommend to those who love opposites attract, easy to read, fun, sweet romances.. that may or may not be on a cruise ship!!!!

Jaxon is a wealthy young man who likes to travel, likes adventure and takes what is offered, male and female. He has up until his 3 month cruise not been of a mind to settle down. He meets Tyler on the cruise. They are from very different wealth brackets by they work. They are attracted to one another and their chemistry is off the charts. Their connection goes beyond the physical and both catch feelings. Tyler does not think he can live in Jaxon's world and leaves without saying goodbye directly breaking both of their hearts. Then he comes to his senses and they realize that each of them is a reason for the other to see their possibilities and realize that they can make it work. This was steamy, but sweet. Jaxon's friend group is interesting I hope their stories are on the horizon.

Jaxon goes on a cruise with his best friends for three months. Jaxon is the senator's youngest son and gets a little reckless when he gets a chance. Tyler is taking the cruise as another adventure before becoming a history professor. Jaxon and Tyler meet at the outside rock climbing adventure on the cruise a few days after leaving. After a friendly challenge between the two they spend more time together. While going on different excursions in different ports Jaxon and Tyler get to know each other better. When the cruise comes to an end with they keep in touch with each other? Will Jaxon and Tyler go their own ways and end the relationship? Can spending three months with someone change your perspective on life?

This is steamy, entertaining and romantic. Tyler's grandparents wanted him to splurge a little when he received his inheritance, so he decided to go on a 3 month cruise. Jaxson and his friends are going on the same cruise, but it's just another trip for them, as they all have plenty of money. Tyler and Jaxson meet at the rock climbing wall, and immediately start joking with each other. They go out for drinks that night, then a few days later. They realize that despite the opposing lives they lead, they have a lot in common. They slowly build from a couple of dates, to spending most of their time together. They are sweet, amusing and adorable as a couple, and it's very enjoyable to read.

I absolutely loved this book! Heck I’ve not read anything by this author that I haven’t loved. I would have loved to have a more in-depth look into their relationship but even quickly going through the last two months of the cruise and skipping a couple months ahead after the cruise, I truly felt like we got to know these characters. I love the way that Jaxon never tries to push or change Tyler and never tries to dismiss his worries about money or public affection. And the way that even when Tyler would rather pay his part, Tyler never creates and argument with Jaxon over him being willing to pay. They accept each other as they are make each other better for it. And in that they become each others calm in the adventure that is their lives! I cannot wait to read the next story and find out what happens with Jaxon’s other friends and how things unfold for them!

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. This has a terrific story line that has a great main couple and interesting side characters that I can’t wait to read the books for. This story is supposed to be an opposites attract type but Jaxon and Tyler are so much more than the trope characters they seem at the beginning. I loved the slow burn way that they go about getting to know one another. Part of this is the fun idea of having them be on a three month cruise together so they have a reason to go slow. I do enjoy this type of story rather than ones where they fall into bed on the first date. A very enjoyable read.

This look like this will be a really good series centered around 5 friends who are wealthy. Meeting them all in the beginning and getting a feel on how things gonna go down was nice. Starting with Jaxon. He seem kind of self absorbed in the beginning but once he met Tyler his true personality was shown. Even though they were opposites (rich/poor) they did connect very well...had similar interests and their "dating" for them 3 months was really sweet and romantic. Their class differences did put an unnecessary hold to their forever after but ultimately we get that HEA and it was wonderful. I really enjoyed this and I know I will enjoy the rest of the guys finding their HEA...hopefully soon...LOL

What happens on the cruise . . . Jaxon, was enjoying a life of privilege cruising for three months. Tyler is taking time before he has to seriously enter the world of 'adulting'. He and Jaxon plan on enjoying the time they have together. Jaxon is rich, Tyler is not. He is more aware of their unequal financial strength and worries, there is no bridge. You can see from their conversations, that they enjoy each other and seem to bring out the best in each other. Nice story. They guys are charming and their story is delightful. Their discussions do make you think on a different level. Great flow, great supporting friends and family. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Can't say when I read this, but it was before the other books in the series, so this began the series with Jaxon and Tyler, the how poor guy that spent way too much on this cruise and had a cabin the size of a closet with a bathroom--thankfully he didn't have to share.

They meet on the rock climbing wall that over looks the ocean and the sparks fly toward their spending every second together in Jaxon's cabin and jet skiing and doing other adventurous things that are available on the cruise. Jaxon spending money--even though Tyler wasn't too happy about that, then the cruise ends and Tyler break off their relationship because they come from two different worlds.

As in the whole series, there is a come to Jesus moment for the one that walked away and HEA again.

I really enjoyed this book. I read the author's other series Club Nocturne and absolutely loved it, so I knew I had to give this new series a try. The majority of the book takes place over the course of a three-month cruise where the two leads meet and begin their relationship. It was fun seeing them bond over different activities. And they had great chemistry from the start. The book was very well written, and the story well paced and flowed smoothly. The two men get along so well, but lead very different lives. Could they make a relationship work once the cruise is over, or are their worlds just too different?

I recommend picking this one up. 5 stars.

I loved this book! The story of Jaxon and Tyler is sweet, sassy, fun and well worth reading! The two come from different worlds and meet on a three month cruise. The more time they spend together, the closer they get. Tyler is unsure they can bridge the gap between them and will make what he thinks is the best decision but he will be proven wrong. With a little help from his sassy sister, Tyler will get a kick in the pants that will send him back to Jaxon to try again at seeing if they have something real. And Jaxon will welcome him back with open arms.

This is a super cute romance between two people from different walks of life, with different approaches to life. They meet on a cruise, where they form a kind of perfect bubble of coupledom, and everything is sweet and light until it comes to an end. This is a solid premise for a fairly lighthearted romance, and despite the obligatory chapter and a half of angst, you can see the HEA coming a mile away. It's fluffy and fun and just a generally good time, and if that sounds like what you're looking for, give this book a try.

Another sweet and entertaining read by Romeo Alexander. I really liked both Tyler and Jaxon, both from completely different backgrounds, they'd experienced life in very different ways, but they worked together beautifully. I loved how they were able to compromise while on the cruise, and how they both respected the others view points. I was sad that Tyler was willing to walk away from Jaxon after the cruise, and loved how annoying and interfering his sister was, if not for her, both guys might still be miserable.

I've got to say, this is the first book that I was not totally in love with from this author. It was just so so. I was really disappointed with Tyler and Jaxson's story, was just too blah. They meet and there is a connection, but there was not actual connection in the word or actions written. There is no blazing passion or connection they shared and I just really felt it was a bit boring. The supporting characters were more exciting to me. I look forward to their stories rather than this one that I read. This was just how I felt when I read it and I know other probably felt different, so I am sorry.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Jaxon and Tyler meet on a cruise and over the three months fall for each other. However despite Tyler trying to face his fears, he lets the one fear he has of not being able to fit it break up their relationship. With advice and help from his sister, Tyler takes the chance offered to go to Jaxon. Jaxon eagerly accepts him back as they both have been miserable without the other. I liked the message of taking courage to live your life.

Jaxon comes from old money, a prestigious family, and a life of privilege. Tyler was raised by his grandparents, blue-collar, straight-talking, and down-to-earth. They meet on a three-month cruise and hit it off immediately. The dynamics of this relationship are wonderfully drawn in this story. No danger, drama, or conflict is needed to carry the storyline. A new author for me but one I'll be looking for more from. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jaxon, Dalton, Matthew, Zane, and Bryce have been friends since they all went to Mount Harris private school all went on a 3 month cruise. Tyler was raised poor him and his sister got an inheritance from their grandparents after they died. Every summer he would do something different in traveling was on the cruise also. Jaxon and Tyler clicked right from meeting. They fell in love but wouldn’t admit it Sarah Tyler’s sister made him do something out of his comfort zone. Things worked out for them! Great book!

I thought that this was a fantastic book. I loved Jaxon and Tyler together. These two have amazing connection and chemistry. These two are opposites but the fit together perfectly. There is a lot of steam in this book but also a lot of comedy and sweetness that will leave you smiling and wanting more. I can't wait to see what else happened on this cruse. I really enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it and Mr. Romeo as a must read author.

One is from wealth and the other isn't. Yet, they had more in common than expected. Jaxon and Tyler were supposed to go on one date. But one wasn't enough. Taking it slow, both men spent time getting to know one another. After all, they had time.

What a difference a three month cruise can make. Fun, sun, and adventure. At least, that was the plan. Potentially falling in love wasn't supposed to be on the cruise itinerary. Slow burn, great side characters, well earned happily ever after.

Emotionally gripping story with a lot of fun, adventure, and laughs as Jaxon and Tyler grow steadily closer with poignant conversations, everlasting memories, and steam filled sexy times. There are plenty of heartfelt moments and some tough decisions before Jaxon and Tyler finally accept they are meant to be, enjoy their love, and have a wonderfully sweet HEA.
This was an enjoyable and entertaining story that was week written with likeable characters. I would definitely recommend this book.

As we follow Jaxon and Tyler on their vacation we get to see a love connection being made. Low drama but high romance is what we find as we tag along. All good things end but sometimes the good things rethink the ending and they end up being wonderful. Our heroes get their happily ever after and we a front row seat to their happiness.

2.5 - 3 stars.

Meh. Not the best from this author. I felt the same with the Greenford series too. I'd rather wait longer for a book and get a decent read rather than author's churning books out too quickly. Personally this felt phoned in. Nothing overly exciting about either MC and one is a billionaire on a 3 month holiday!

Likeable MCs and supportive characters but unlikely to remember much about this book.

Jaxon doesn't think things over, he just goes and does it. Tyler is an over thinker, he doesn't do anything until he really thinks things through. Jaxon's family is rich, Tyler's family is poor. They meet on a summer cruise and things take off from there. I really enjoyed this book. I love the way they're so different but together they're so right for each other.
