I reviewed book one by saying it was rough around the edges on all fronts...and this book acted as a continuation of that sentiment for me. In fact, I only read this one to see if the potential in book one was realized in book two.
Spoiler alert: It wasn't. Not for me, at least.
In fact, I wouldn't even call this series "romance." It focuses more on just the female MC, her machinations, and her place within the mafia family she married into. There are very few interactions between her and her arranged-marriage husband.
Further, the tone is uneven, it jumps around a lot, the characters and their characterizations are not solid, and there is no sense of fluidity.
That said, I may or may not try book three. It's on Kindle Unlimited (or I wouldn't even have read this one) and I figure I might pick it up on one of those random days where I am seriously craving mafia and have nothing else to read. You never know.

I love that this series keeps getting better. So many series have an amazing debut, but lagging sequels and, so far, The Rocchetti Dynasty is fabulous in each book!
I love that Sophia comes into her own as the wife of a powerful man and a powerful woman in her own right. She knows how to play the mafia. A lot of “independent” mafia heroine are idiots. They go against the mafia and expect for it to bend instead of infiltrating from the inside. Sophia is cunning under her stupid trophy wife facade. I love it! She is also a great mother-to-be even under the terrible circumstances.
We don’t see a lot of Alessandro throughout the book, but he really compliments her, in my opinion. They are both pretty ruthless, but he is more obvious about it, which works for him because he needs people to be scared of him.
I love the action and drama with the FBI, Cat, the Irish mafia, and the Bratva. It just adds to the story a lot, even though a lot of authors wouldn’t have gone the extra mile and would have stuck to just the relationship drama.
In conclusion, a great continuation in this series and I am so excited for The Rocchetti Queen

I love the way Alessandro and Sophia are growing as individuals and as a couple. What began as an arranged marriage cloaked in secrets and lies has blossomed into tenuous trust and respect as they begin to plot their way to the top.

Although I haven’t read so many mafia stories, I can say that this series had a uniqueness where the heroine had the leading role instead of the hero.
Sophia was a very intriguing character. She was thrown in to unknown territories and had not only to stay afloat but also prevail.
Throughout the second part, the bloody bride evolved and was promoted to principessa!
There were secrets revealed, masks removed, drama, twists and turns, great changes of relationships’ dynamics.
Too much (for me) mafia politics, so many names/characters I was struggling to keep up with and plenty of editing errors were my issues with this book.
Nevertheless, I am highly invested in this story and can’t wait to start the final part!! 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️

Unfortunately I won’t be reading the third (and potentially this authors) books?
My issue with book one is that barely anything happens and I was bored for most of it but it picked up in the last 30% or so.
This one was just plain boring. I can summarise in one page the facts they found out and alternatively we spend most of the book with Sofia going to parties with the girls and finds something out, goes out here and finds this out, goes there and talks to this person.
The lack of plot/ action and lack of connection with the H and other characters ruined it for me.
If you take all the “romance” parts of her and the H it’ll be maybe 5 pages in total?
This book is about the mafia vs FBI. And every chapter, she dresses up, wears make up goes out with someone, finds something out.
It’s so monotone and extremely boring that I actually skimmed a third of it and didn’t even miss anything. Alessandro and Sophia fall Inlove in this book and it confuses me because I’m like but when? They don’t have any passion or tense moments. I actually thought they coexist well and can be good mafia partners - and when I heard them say I love you I was like huh?
So yeah unfortunately this authors writing isn’t for me. It’s the most flat line book I’ve ever read ... nothing made me wanna keep going on nothing made me gasp or feel any emotion ... it was interaction after interaction and 0 connections between the side characters even
Useless scenes are soooooooo long it’s like the author wants us to be part of the WHOLE baby shower so we have to read every mundane convo the women have ... and it drags and drags
And I’m really sorry The birth scene was soooooooooo graphic and that was the most lively part of the book but I didn’t need to read it to that much detail including the fact she poos during the birth
Sorry. 2 stars for polpetto and the fact her inner dialogue was actually funny at times.
But even with Catherine her sis, in the end she says I’ll always love you and I’m confused why it’s downplayed so much but her sister and her team legit were the reason Sofia’s wedding was attacked and people died (including Sofia).
Her sister was also who planted a bomb in a party where Sofia is pregnant... it was so weird how that was kinda not a big deal?

The author needs an editor. There are many mistakes and it was annoying.
Every time her baby kick (she is pregnant), she mentioned babies. I was confused because they didn't know the sex but mentioning baby as babies which is plural means it might be twins? Then she has a boy?

I didn't expect this.
But fuck, it was so good.
However, it does have a lot of issue that people might find annoying. First, the writings. It has a lot of typos. Even I, who never care about these things or sentence structures and all that, noticed the inaccuracies. I don't really care much about these things as long as it was readable and interesting. In this case, yes to both.
Second, if you're hoping for a smutty romance-heavy mafia romance book, then this is not the book for you. Trust me, I thought I wouldn't like it either because of this but one part of this book made me reconsider this feeling.
Third, if you don't like vain, manipulative, calculative, self-absorbed, arrogant, willing to abandon their blood family for self fulfilling ambition character, then you absolutely won't like our heroine.
But in my opinion, she's the best and compelling part of this book. I freaking love her to pieces. I love the way she thinks, ways she's trying to get the upper hand on everyone. I just can't wait to see her becoming the Queen of the Mafia.

god how i love the pregnancy trope in mafia books. its so fucking hot. alessandro literally surprised me, i didn't think that he was gonna open up in this book but he did and it was literally the cutest thing in the world.
sophia is a baddie. no no she's a god damn queen. her energy could just rock the world.

So I was wrong in assuming, when I started this series, that it would be a dark mafia romance. It is in fact a suspense/thriller mafia novel with light emphasis on romance.
Sophia's rise to power within the Chicago Outfit is fantastic. The odds are stacked against her but she won't relent. Underneath that "beautiful but silly socialite" image she projects, Sophia is intelligent, manipulative and driven and you have to respect her. She is lucky enough that Alessandro appreciates her and sees in her his partner in crime.
The story is slowly building up, with so much detail that I got a bit bored at times and had to skip a few pages. But the inner workings of the mafia are very realistically depicted and quite interesting.
The ending brings incredible challenges for this power couple and I am looking forward to the final instalment.

Sophia Rocchetti is definitely a queen. What a stunning, brave and intelligent woman. For many moments while reading this book, I found myself just rambling about how in love I'm with her, and feeling nervous and excited for her to finally fit all pieces of this puzzle. And Alessandro, I'm a little sad he didn't appear more but I'm happy for what we got to know about him throughout this book.
It was quite sad for me all the time they spent apart, but I'm hoping the next book will give me all the scenes I wanted for this one—mostly because there is a baby in this equation now!!! and babies always make my life easier. I truly enjoyed their scenes together, and I desperately need more.
And, I have so many things I'd like to say, but I guess I'll have to save some to after finishing the next (& last) book.

Story was great loved it, but it so needed an edit job. Lots of mistakes right from the start. You would swear she was having twins and that was the twist. The singular and plurals got messed up and later on the same thing. Some words missing out of sentences too. Oh well I am still going to read the next.

I loved this book~ The story itself didn't have big changes (we did find out some stuff and also there was some twist and enidng was shocking and unexpected for me) but couple wise Alessandro and Sophia come a long way ❤️In book one romance didn't have big part in the story, here also it wasn't big part but it was more then book one and I loved seeing them open up, communicate and move from just no love arrange marriage to real marriage with love. IDK JUST LOVE THEM 🙈 I loved how Alessandro told her everything and showed her all his secrets so there will be no more lies and secrets between them! THE LOVE CONFESSION OF THIS COUPLE WAS SO DAMN CUTE 😭 In this book we saw more of the "real" Sophia, when she was talking to her sister and Alessandro, we saw how she grow up and who she really was and what her intentions and gaols were. I loved her and loved seeing that she was not stupid, in fact she was very cunnning and manipulative with everyone and knew how to play all of their games 🤭 The ending shocked me i wasn’t expecting that persons death, but also it was very sweet as they finally had their baby~ I'm excited to see how the book and their story gonna end in the final book 🫂

I enjoyed the first book a lot and jumped into the next book straight away and for the most part the book didn’t disappoint me. We get to see just how cold and calculating Sophia is - a refreshing change from the “perfect, oh so innocent, bland and always the victim” heroine in usual mafia books. Again, like the first book, it doesn’t really fall into the romance category, it’s more about Sophia’s rise up through the Outfit’s hierarchy. She has only had sex twice with Alessandro and that was in book 1 (and the first time was best forgotten 😂).
Where i felt let down was near the end...again it was pretty obvious who was trying to kill her (I figured it out in book 1) and when it finally clicks for her (and she is all alone with no one but the baddie who is still oblivious she has figured it out) what does she do? Only blurts out she knows it’s him behind everything etc etc 🤯 Really? Was that the smartest thing to do instead of keeping your mouth shut and pretending everything is ok until you get to your husband? How she stops from getting killed also was weak. Hence why it wasn’t a 4 stars for me.

I loved it.
There is something to be said about character development across a story, but to do it across multiple books allows the reader to really understand certain events and nuances that lead to parts of the person's personality. From the first book to the second, Sophia has grown into herself and its an indulgence to watch. I find in mafia books its mostly about the man, Bree has given us a great look into the mind of a mafiosa woman. And not a meek one, a badass, I could not get enough. Even her rivalry was with her sister not another man. The two sisters on each side of the coin were a joy to watch, their relationship and their love for each other is tragic.
This one was a great look into the side characters, members of the family we didn't care for before. I love family dynamics in mafia books. Great series and absolutely cannot wait for the next one!

STOP! If you haven’t read the Bloody Bride yet, believe me, I’m heavily judging y’all. Go and read it first... I’m waiting 🙄.
Done? Okay good. Now that that’s out of the way, is anyone up for a battle of wits? Me neither but I’d gladly read one. The book starts after almost two months of what went down in book one. Sophia has moved to the gated housing and Alessandro is busy working and mostly living in the penthouse. There’s also unresolved tension between the two, seeing how they haven’t spoken in so long. The battle of wits I mentioned isn’t between our two main characters, it’s actually between Sophia and Don, both never backing down, weighing each other and playing their game, not letting the other to go one up... but this eventually lets Sophia have a place of respect in the family, though she does have to work for it. Sophia also goes on a journey of self discovery, realizing that what she’s from inside is how she loves to be, not the mask she puts on for others to see. She considers herself manipulative but in my opinion, that’s her wisdom and not manipulation, to be able to survive in her world and earn respect, not enforce it, it’s necessary to be a bit shrewd and manipulative!
Alessandro on the other hand is again, a cutie pie, why you’d ask (plz ask cuz I have already implied that you’d ask), cuz no matter what, he isn’t physically abusive towards Sophia, he’s suspicious, he’s doubtful at times but he’s not manipulative and he’s fair towards her (if we ignore the bouts of doubts that he has on and off). So yeah he’s a cutie pie and reading book 2, we realize that he has come a long way in developing a more tolerant personality with a cool head on his shoulders, which wasn’t always the case, and is therefore a perfect candidate to hold the reins of the dynasty.
Now is the fun part, do our hero and heroine realize that they are better a team and have a heart to heart or go their separate ways, getting their ego lead the way and let others dictate their lives? I’d tell you but then what’s the point? 🤷🏻♀️. Catherine makes appearances, never thought I’d be yelling Sophia’s dialogues to no one, making my husband doubt my sanity, cuz in my head I was giving Catherine the middle finger... 🙄.
God if I keep going, I won’t stop. This book is ridiculously good. The pace of scenes and events is never slow. It’s, dare I say, even better than the first one. The flow of dialogue, the choice of words, not overwhelming but precise. The humor is more frequent and tickles one’s funny bone. Angst isn’t as much but is still there. And Sophia is, thankfully, not a very grumpy pregnant lady, emotional yeah, okay she sometimes is grumpy but hey, cut her some slack!
“Shall we?” As I passed, he leaned down, breath tickling my ear. “Do not think this argument is over.”
“It is and I won.”
His eyes sparked. “Your pregnancy brain has made you delusional. The winner of the fight was inconclusive.”
“Sounds like something a loser would say.”
“Speaking of Catherine... “Promise me you won’t overreact.”
Alessandro’s nostrils flared. “I have never overreacted a day in my life.”
“Catherine approached me–”

Done? Okay good. Now that that’s out of the way, is anyone up for a battle of wits? Me neither but I’d gladly read one. The book starts after almost two months of what went down in book one. Sophia has moved to the gated housing and Alessandro is busy working and mostly living in the penthouse. There’s also unresolved tension between the two, seeing how they haven’t spoken in so long. The battle of wits I mentioned isn’t between our two main characters, it’s actually between Sophia and Don, both never backing down, weighing each other and playing their game, not letting the other to go one up... but this eventually lets Sophia have a place of respect in the family, though she does have to work for it. Sophia also goes on a journey of self discovery, realizing that what she’s from inside is how she loves to be, not the mask she puts on for others to see. She considers herself manipulative but in my opinion, that’s her wisdom and not manipulation, to be able to survive in her world and earn respect, not enforce it, it’s necessary to be a bit shrewd and manipulative!
Alessandro on the other hand is again, a cutie pie, why you’d ask (plz ask cuz I have already implied that you’d ask), cuz no matter what, he isn’t physically abusive towards Sophia, he’s suspicious, he’s doubtful at times but he’s not manipulative and he’s fair towards her (if we ignore the bouts of doubts that he has on and off). So yeah he’s a cutie pie and reading book 2, we realize that he has come a long way in developing a more tolerant personality with a cool head on his shoulders, which wasn’t always the case, and is therefore a perfect candidate to hold the reins of the dynasty.
Now is the fun part, do our hero and heroine realize that they are better a team and have a heart to heart or go their separate ways, getting their ego lead the way and let others dictate their lives? I’d tell you but then what’s the point? 🤷🏻♀️. Catherine makes appearances, never thought I’d be yelling Sophia’s dialogues to no one, making my husband doubt my sanity, cuz in my head I was giving Catherine the middle finger... 🙄.
God if I keep going, I won’t stop. This book is ridiculously good. The pace of scenes and events is never slow. It’s, dare I say, even better than the first one. The flow of dialogue, the choice of words, not overwhelming but precise. The humor is more frequent and tickles one’s funny bone. Angst isn’t as much but is still there. And Sophia is, thankfully, not a very grumpy pregnant lady, emotional yeah, okay she sometimes is grumpy but hey, cut her some slack!
“Shall we?” As I passed, he leaned down, breath tickling my ear. “Do not think this argument is over.”
“It is and I won.”
His eyes sparked. “Your pregnancy brain has made you delusional. The winner of the fight was inconclusive.”
“Sounds like something a loser would say.”
“Speaking of Catherine... “Promise me you won’t overreact.”
Alessandro’s nostrils flared. “I have never overreacted a day in my life.”
“Catherine approached me–”

En primer lugar, me gustaría aclarar que todas las estrellas son para Sophia. Es mi personaje favorito y la razón por la que continuo leyendo la trilogía. Es, sin lugar a dudas, una reina. Sophia es LA PROTAGONISTA.
Este libro es la segunda parte de una trilogía, así que me ahorraré los resúmenes. La historia comienza poco tiempo después del final de la primera parte. Sophia se mudó a su nueva casa, pero dejó a Alessandro atrás. Sintiéndose traicionada por un marido por el que había empezado a desarrollar sentimientos, utilizada como un peón en un tablero de ajedrez por todas las personas cercanas a ella. Ella sabe que es la víctima y aún así, ve su palabra y sus acciones ser cuestionadas por su conexión con su hermana, pero a pesar de todo, trata de recuperar su posición anterior en la Sociedad y en el Outfit.
Desde el primer libro, hubo ciertas actitudes y pensamientos de Sophia (porque el libro está narrado en primera persona) que me hacían sospechar que había mucho más de ella para descubrir. Su personaje al principio se nos intenta mostrar como una mujer obediente, recatada y superficial, hasta un poco débil, me atrevería a decir. Pero a medida que continuas leyendo, como antes mencioné, te das cuenta de que es un personaje muy complejo, interesante, con muchas capas por revelar. En The Bloody Bride, empiezas a notar al adentrarte en su mente, que la Sophia que ella muestra a los demás, es solo apariencias, una máscara que porta, pero por dentro, tiene mucho qué decir y es una mujer muy inteligente.
En esta segunda parte, terminé de confirmar que es la protagonista indudable de la trilogía. Sophia es una mujer astuta, estratega, ambiciosa y manipuladora. Que aprendió a lo largo de su vida a utilizar su belleza y su encanto como un arma para ganarse el favor y la adoración de todos a su alrededor, sin embargo, nadie la reconoce como una amenaza hasta que es demasiado tarde. En las últimas páginas, se puede leer a Sophia dejar caer su máscara y decir por primera vez en voz alta todo lo que ha anhelado desde pequeña, revelar sus partes malvadas y mezquinas. Y yo solo pude enamorarme más de su personaje, porque incluso a mí me había engañado, y descubrir que en realidad es una mente maestra me encantó. Prácticamente todos sus movimientos son calculados.
Ahora, su relación con Alessandro no fue algo que se explorara de la manera en la que a mí me habría gustado, el libro aborda el tema de la mafia de una manera un poco más extensa de la que estoy acostumbrada. Todo el libro es mafia, crimen, conexiones, estrategias, aliados, enemigos, así que el romance pasa más bien a segundo plano. Casi al final, podemos leer la relación de la pareja consolidarse en un frente unido, una conclusión después de algunas interacciones durante todo el libro que nos mostraban el acercamiento entre Alessandro y Sophia, un rey que reconoce a su reina, y una reina que se muestra a su rey tal cual es. No tengo quejas con respecto a su declaración de amor. Ahora, yo preferiría haber leído más del romance entre ellos, Alessandro se portó de maravilla, pero fue demasiado tarde para mí.
¡El final, qué final! Estoy muy emocionada por leer la última entrega, ya mismo habría empezado el libro de no ser porque debo irme a dormir.

Well, now we talk!
This book is not your average mafia romance with silly, beautiful and sex-driven heroines, like, I am a virgin, I don't want be a part of Mafia, but my Family... and, I don't to marry, my future husband is a made man, but oh, he is so sexy and so strong and I can't help falling in love with him...
The book gave me the vibes of real mafia novel, something from the movies by Scorsese or Coppola. The Mafia world of this author is a very much realistic one. Here you have got the whole bunch: Mafia, FBI, Russians, Triads, etc...
But, what I liked the most?
1. The conversations!
There are built smartly by author. The characters speak but that is not what they really mean. if fact, the words have completely different meanings.
2. The plot is twisted very nicely. It's not cheesy, no and it's not predictable. So far I have not experienced any eye-rolling moments.
3. The relationship between the H and h is not about sex and the conversations usually do not finish with sex, blowjob or even kissing... no, theirs is more of partnership and respect than love, but they most certainly are in love too.
4. I liked the relations within the family and among the women of the Outfit. Again, very realistic. I liked how strong and do not use this adjective towards the heroines in Mafia worlds very often, but this one is a devious and cunning one, not to mention that she is the smartest one too.
5. The secondary characters or the outfit members are not kind, loyal or friendly, they are fighting for power, for the throne and the their fight is, once again, a real one, you can feel it. They look like scary and frightening, as it should be in this harsh world of made men. So, no pink bunnies and fluffy teddy bears here.
I enjoyed immensely with this installment!

Yeah. I finished this book in one day. It was that good. I love having a front row set to The Sophia Show. She just gets better and better. And she’s pregnant?!? Do you know what I did when I was pregnant? Absolutely nothing.
I am also loving the progression of Sophia and Alessandro’s relationship. She’s not making it easy for him - he needs to work for it!
It’s just a really good story. Mafia, romance, suspense, drama, humor - everything. Starting book three immediately.

I’m not gonna lie... I was waiting for something more excited. Wasn’t that bad, but in my perspective nothing really happens until it reaches 89%. I just think that this one didn’t worked for me in the way the last one did.
note: Catherine is freaking annoying

I have to start by saying that this series is quite different from other regular mafia romance books. It focused more on mafia stuff which was cool, I think.
Sophia’s character development is worth appreciating to be honest. The girl has grown and is the true queen of Chicago.
The story was captivating and intriguing till the end and of course it ended with a cliffhanger. I love love love Alessandro. I need myself such an ideal man to be honest (cuz who wouldn’t?)
I’m literally super invested in this crazy ass mafia world Bree has created. Looking forward to reading more crazy twisted stories from this author.

This is definitely my favorite series when it comes to mafia romance books, like these are just too good 😭 I really wish we would have gotten some more of Alessandro and Sophias relationship but that’s okay because we all got to see her develop into this badass lady that never questioned her own decisions and I was here for it

When i first read The Bloody Bride, i couldn't believe my luck. I always had trouble finding heroines i love, because i expect so much more from them than from the hero. i always yearned for a heroine who is cunning, who loves power, who would do anything to get that power , but at the same time i wanted her to be feminine and sweet. i never got one that is all that, until Sophia Rochetti. She is everything i ever wanted in a heroine. i love how in this book her relationship with Alessandro developped and how they opened their hearts to each other. We got so much more family dynamics and uncovered one of the biggest secrets the Rochettis kept. Sophia's relationship with her father exploded and some truths were told, forcing sophia to reveal her true nature to him. Cat Padovino and the FBI are more determined than ever to destroy the Rocchettis, and the sisters will clash. will sophia choose her bond with her sister, the only person who knows and loves her or will her desire for power and love for alessandro will make the sisters enemies? And Cat is not the only enemy they, have. there is someone else that wants to destroy sophia and alessandro. how strong are they? will they manage to get what they both truly want or will their enemies, known and unknown , will destroy them? you'll have to read and find out.

Will this series really end with the next instalment? I'm not ready.
Bree Porter delivered with Principessa of Chicago. So much so that I am willing to ignore the terrible editing errors .... again. I spent a good time wondering if she was having twins because this novel needed some proofreading at the very least.
Ambitious and unabashed, I don't know when, but Alessandro and Sophia have somehow defined themselves for themselves. You don't have to like or understand them but they make quite the pair.
I want more. That's all I could think when this book came to an end but at the same time, I want that wait. We need that settle. That calm. To collect ourselves for what's next.
Surprisingly, we ran the gamut of this pregnancy. I enjoyed watching her change. Not just physically but personally. She became a mother, a wife, a queen.
I still don't fully understand Sophia Rocchetti but I do know that she is calculated enough to keep you wondering what's next and she's sweet enough to carry the story of the mafia without getting her nails dirty.
I still don't know Alessandro. A strong female lead has my attention and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next. Though I am not adverse to a novella or something in his POV. His thoughts do intrigue me.
I appreciate the growth in the storyline and that we never stayed wrapped up in the Cat is a Fed bit. We moved on, like life, and the rest followed. I was even more appreciative of the fact that she wasn't naive and had lofty dreams of reconciling with her sister. Sophia Rocchetti rarely questioned her decisions and I am glad that she wasn't whining over her sister or second-guessing herself. She focused on building her dynasty.
The Outfit will be tested and I can't wait for a front-row seat through the eyes of the Queen of Chicago.

I loved the story at first. But then it made me think and question myself. What if this wasn't fiction? The Queen of this story was 100% on the opposite side of every Law Enforcement Agency. She was now an enemy of her big sister~ an FBI agent~ who wasn't a dirty agent. The Queen (Sophia) was way better~ more intelligent~ more beautiful ~ more everything than her sister.
The cover didn't seem to represent the character. Unless I missed Book #1? That laid down all the background on who they were. That the Rocchetti weren't Italian. That Chicago wasn't in Illinois, USA. That this story was happening in a parallel universe.
