A collection of poetry about navigating uncharted territory; passionate new love, shifts and changes, crumbling marriages, dreams, grief, finding yourself alone, and the waxing and waning waves of joy and despair.
These poems narrate the unravelling of the things we’re taught will be simple. Ariane Signer's Shadow Work welcomes the feelings of darkness that exist in life’s journey and all the little, magical moments in between.
Ariane Signer has been writing her thoughts, fears and dreams in journals since the early 90's. A personal development and self-help junkie, she has been working as a creative freelance writer since 2016. A native Canadian, she has found her home in small town Switzerland, where she lives with her husband and two young sons.
This is an exceptional book of poetry. I was deeply impressed by the author’s ability to capture and evoke the strong feelings associated with love and loss in a single and often simple image. It’s a reminder that one does not need to cross oceans and climb mountains to encounter the sublime. In fact, as the writer deftly displays, it is in the visions and experiences of the everyday - the immersion with the known - where we are able to better define beauty and truth in our lives.
