I will have a good life, I will be a great EMT, and I will keep looking for why my twin died. Life is a series of steps; this is step one. But with my luck, anything and everything might happen.

With a serial killer out there, the police and FBI stepping in, I might lose more than the life I had planned. I might lose my life. Once again my luck holds true and I'm in the middle of something I don't know how to deal with.

Hey everyone! I'm Mel Todd and I live in Atlanta, Georgia at this moment. I write mostly romance free urban fantasy, urban science fiction, and soon fantasy.

(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I completely change my mind on a series, so want to change my scoring.)

Book 1 = 2.75* -- Book 2 / Book 3 4*

Normally I just mark for the first book but since I read the 5 that are out (then released missed 2 novellas after checking on here). For me the 4* rating kicked in with book two and I'm glad I stuck with the series to read the second book. If questions re her bad luck, had not been answered in book 2, I'd not have stuck around for book 3.

Would you recommend?: Yes

Great world building

Just reread this series and again I’m amazed at how well the plot matches the characters and the world.

Love asexual character who still has capacity for love. Agape not Eros. Love the transition from a reserved stadoffish teenager to a strong young woman.

And of course, the beings from other planes who are great in their otherness but still appreciate cake.

Twisted Luck is an excellent urban fantasy!! Innovative magic, likable female characters and lots of action, adventure, and friends bonding. Mel Todd is a gifted storyteller and I buy her books so I can reread them!

Entertaining

Story was entertaining and fast paced. Enjoyed it. Proofreading needs to be improved. Words were spelled correctly but too many and out of sequence.
