Adaline and Other Short Stories is a unique body of work, written in the modified Stream of Consciousness style. It is filled with depth, magnificence, and sometimes confusing details that may throw you off but simultaneously provoke you to think. Truly a hidden gem of modern Thai literature!
2nd time reading this. The first time I read I don’t really understand the meaning behind some of the characters’ actions and stories. It’s kinda timeless I would say because this time I read it with the experience as I grew older, some stories became more relatable. Now I understand how Petra feels and how that poor lady who yearns for the meaningful “sorry”. Still, I need to go through more of my life experience to be able to get all of these stories, to be relatable. Will be reading this for the 3rd time in few years.
