It’s been less than a month since Juniper “JJ” Jones discovered (at the tender age of 46) that she was a witch and moved to the magical beach town of Miracle Bay. Now she’s running her grandmother’s bookstore with the aid of a tarot-reading fire witch and a snarky familiar who looks like a black cat but claims he isn’t (long story).
Everything is running smoothly (more or less) until her grandmother’s ghost pops in for a visit, claiming she was murdered. What’s more, she wants JJ to find the killer and bring them to justice. Sure. Because that went so well the last time.
With the help of her newfound friends, JJ sets out to uncover the secrets of Miracle Bay and the truth about her grandmother’s murder. Preferably without running afoul of the murderer herself!
Shéa MacLeod has dreamed of writing novels since before she could hold a crayon. She totally blames her mother.
Her favorite poem as a child was ‘Jabberwocky’, and Her favorite authors were Agatha Christie and Edgar Allan Poe. Which probably explains a lot.
After a six year sojourn in London, England, a dearth of good donuts has driven her back to her hometown. She now resides in the leafy green hills outside Portland, Oregon where she indulges in her fondness for strong coffee, Ancient Aliens reruns, lemon curd, and dragons.
Because everything's better with dragons.
Shéa is the author of the SUNWALKER SAGA (a fast paced urban fantasy series with a kick-ass heroine published by Montlake) and DRAGON WARS (a post-apocalyptic series with dragons)as well as the Cupcake Goddess novelettes.
In Charm's Way is the second book in the Season of the Witch series by Shea MacLeod. This story picks up a month after the first book ends, which I HIGHLY recommend!
I really love JJ who is 46 and recently discovered that she is a witch after inheriting her Grandmothers book store and cat. Things are going pretty well until her Grandmother's ghost pays her a visit and tells her her death wasn't an accident and JJ needs to find her killer. No biggie !
The town of Miracle Bay is enchanting and such a fun location. JJ's new friends help her not only honing her powers but finding out what happened to her grandmother.
The characters are complex and well fleshed out and the mystery is FANTASTIC.
Ettől függetlenül izgatottan várom a folytatást. 4/5⭐️
This series is starting to grow more and more close to my heart and slowly I want to be a resident of Miracle Bay 😁 My only problem with these books is still the same as with the first part, that although they provide an easy break from the daily routine, they are too short. Regardless, I'm looking forward to the sequel. 4/5⭐️
Things are looking up for our reluctant new witch. I’ll admit sometimes her actions make we want to knock her upside the head and shake her. That doesn’t mean I don’t like her, I just want her to wise up and find out reality instead of still buying into pre-conceived human fiction. She’ll get there, with a little help from her friends. Looking forward to more adventures.
I devoured this book in record time! It's one of those rare gems that keep you up late, flipping pages with bated breath. The author's storytelling is simply masterful. Every character feels so real, their motivations and struggles resonating deeply. The plot is a whirlwind of twists and turns, keeping me guessing until the very end. If you're looking for a thrilling, quick, unforgettable read, this series is a must-have!
In Charm's Way is a wonderful paranormal cozy mystery. This book is fun and interesting. I love the characters. This book is well written, with great depth of characters. I liked the magical town setting. The mystery has many twists and turns to keep you guessing. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
What's not to love about this series about. Woman who comes into her Witchy powers along with Perimenapause? Seriously, how much fun would this hot flash hell be if I could blow up a coffee pot or turn a jerk in to a frog now and then? Add yummy food, books, an attitude filled feline, and a cast of unique characters...it's such a win!! Love this series
I've become a big fan of PWF, and while many of the stories have a somewhat similar theme, I love how the different specifics are put into the stories! Love this one and can't wait for the next one.❤
Clever concept. A witch just coming into her powers nherits a house and bookstore from her grandmother. Her grandmother's ghost asks her granddaughter to solve the mystery of her death. And a fun tale with darling characters is off and running.
If I have to read one more line about cupcakes giving orgasms or eye rolling ecstasy, I may vomit. But otherwise, it’s another cute cozy read. Still want more of Enki though. He deserves a spin off adventure all of his own.
I loved this book. The characters are slowly becoming reader friends, the plot was easily followed, and the killer was found and stopped. Could you really ask for more? Probably, but not wisely. I definitely recommend this book.
This is a fun book. Characters are. I'd like to see Enki filled out more. There's a story there for sure. I hope she brings these characters back. I d hate to see them go.
I really enjoyed this book. JJ is snarky and funny, and hanging out with her feels like hanging out with friends I knew years ago. I would also just love to stay in Miracle Bay for a day or a month or the rest of my life--especially in her cool house!
