What if you had the ability to know things about people just by touching them? As a massage therapist, that would be an extremely helpful tool. Unless your gift showed you about the darker side of human nature.
Kahrren’s mind was more occupied with her upcoming girls' getaway than the client she had on her table, but that changed instantaneously when she had a startling vision implicating her client as a murderer.
Terrified by this flash into someone else’s mind, now she must work out whether what she saw actually happened, whether she should tell someone, and whether her continuing visions mean she is in danger.
If you love psychic suspense, snarky comments, and fast-paced stories, watch for my upcoming thriller, out September 1.
Trigger Warning: Adult themes, violence, profanity, sexual battery
This is such an intriguing book with a wonderful plot and fantastic characters. I loved Kahrren and her distain for being called Karen. She was relatable and fascinating. I loved the concept of someone having psychic abilities that are activated through touch. This works so well with Kahrren’s profession of being a massage therapist. Again really really loved this concept. It’s an exciting read which brings the action, drama, suspense, darkness, and some humour as well. Highly highly recommend this book!
If you like paranormal thrillers, you will love Kenna Charles' Touch Sense. This book will grab you as soon as you read the first sentence. Then it will take you through a psychic labyrinth of murder and chaos that you can't put down. I can't wait to see what befalls Kahrren McClintock and her friends in Book 2.
No spoilers here! I loved the quick, witty style of this book. The characters drew me in and left me wanting to know more. They are complex and it feels as if there’s more to each story to come. Looking forward to book 2 and hopefully beyond!
I really loved this book. My only complaint is that it was too short and the next one isn’t out yet. This was such a unique story and kept me guessing to the end. I liked how smoothly the story flowed, and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. Can’t wait for #2 to be available!
I enjoyed the premise of a psychic who sees things when she touches people or things choosing to work as a massage therapist. At first I found this weird at first, a person who doesn't really like to be touched works touching people. But as the story went on Kahrren does this as she likes to help people & seems to have a handle on it with a few tricks while working. Kahrren (Car in) who does not like to be called Karen gets stuck behind at work waiting on a client who is running late. But during the massage he leaves himself open & Kahrren sees him commit a murder or about to commit a murder. This sets of a game of cat & mouse as Kahrren tries to make the police believe what she saw with her gift & that the murderer is now pursing her.
It had great friendships which could relate to & loved that Kahrren's pet is a fish & she was just as devoted to him, as people are to cats or dogs. Loved the dynamic with Kahrren & the police & how it was always changing when she displayed her gift. The very ending had me very excited for the next instalment to see how Kahrren deals with the aftermath.
The story moved at a good pace & kept me wanting to know what came next, but there were a few things however that left me scratching my head a few days after that didn't make sense. These inconsistencies brought down the overall enjoyment. Also I don't think there needed to be as many examples of Kahrren's gift while she was at work. This seemed to drag on a little too much & I found myself skipping through.
Kahrren is a woman who can get discover things about people through touch alone. She is a massage therapist and when she gets a sense that her client is a murderer she ignores the feeling until she finds out her vision was actually true.
This book is well written, fast paced and full of suspense. It was easy to read.
Kahrren is a massage therapist with a special gift. Being psychic makes her exceptional at her chosen profession. When she stays late one Friday night for an insistent new client, she is blindsided by his dark thoughts. Will anyone believe what she has discovered?
This psychological thriller is a fast-paced story. I was on the edge of my seat as Kahrren tried to make sense of what she saw and decided how she should use her unwanted knowledge. There were spine-tingling moments when I felt as if I were in her shoes, waiting for the right moment to make a move.
Overall, this book was a worthwhile read. I did find the writing a bit stilted at first, but it began to flow towards the middle of the story and I was hooked! The premise and characters will hold your interest, and you’ll appreciate some surprises along the way to keep you guessing.
Pick this one up for a quick and suspenseful spooky season treat! A solid debut with a sequel on the way!
WTF!!! I NEED THE SEQUEL NOW!!!! AAAHHHH Oh my god if I could give this 10 stars I would! I am freaking in love with this book and Kenna Charles' writing style! This was even more better than I hoped it would be and the unique idea that this book presents is presented magnificently. *Y'all NEED to read this book* I'll be back with a proper review when I've calmed down a bit
I was pulled into this novel from the very beginning. I really didn't think I would enjoy it, but like I do with movies, I was gonna give it 10 minutes. Man I'm so glad I read it(in one day, I really didn't want to go to work). Anyway I really recommend this novel and can't wait to read the next one right now.
I absolutely loved this book! It is a thriller, mystery, and add paranormal, it had all my favorite things to read in one. I read it in one sitting as I couldn’t put it down! I love the characters! I can’t wait for the next book in the series to see what happens next! I highly recommend this book!
I was lucky enough to read a copy of Touch Sense before it was published. This is book one in The Psychic Touch Series.
Touch Sense is about Kahrren who has the gift to sense other people's thoughts and memories by touching them.Working as a massage therapist, she highly doubts she would watch a murder unfold, while giving a massage to a possible murderer! But what if her visions weren't what she saw, or did her client really kill someone, should she tell the police and what would they think of her. Someone who apparently can see past memories.
I really enjoyed reading this short novel, and although it has a paranormal sense to it, I found it rather believable, because of the use of the legal and the medical aspect within the book.
With triggers such as violence, verbal abuse, and profanity, it was a book that made me sad not once but twice, however I was able to keep reading.
And even though this book has just been published, I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
This novel would make for a really great TV series. Kahrren, a massage therapist, has a special gift that comes in very handy in her line of work, the ability to know things about people just by touch. Until it makes her witness to a murder. Plenty of twists and turns kept me guessing right up until the end. Kahrren wasn't the most likable character, but I really liked how her character was portrayed, real and flawed, like someone we are or know.
I did feel the language was a bit too descriptive and bulky at times, particularly when discussing the girls eating habits, and would've liked to see more of that description and language around the actual solving of the crime. Some inconsistencies in the story had me puzzled, but overall, an interesting story and I'm curious about what happens next.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! Touch Sense is a great read from start to finish, with a couple of cool, unexpected twists along the way. The paranormal aspect is really unique and interesting. The main characters are relatable and realistic, and the dialogue is very well written. I noticed that the women in the book talk to each other just like my friends and I do - silly and snarky with a few swear words here and there. (Some books overdo the cursing in my opinion.) I want to note that although the book carries a trigger warning about sexual assault, there aren’t any graphic sex scenes in the book, and the sexual violence is only implied/mentioned. There actually aren’t any sex scenes in the book at all, which I find kind of refreshing. What there is in the book is wonderful, descriptive writing and a compelling story that flows well and makes me want to read more. I’m already looking forward to the sequel!
I absolutely loved the first book in the Psychic Touch series. Our protagonist Kahrren was sassy, self confident and above all a psychic.
We are introduced to Kahrren, a massage therapist with a very unique gift, she can sense and see what people are feeling just by the slightest touch. She keeps her gift under wraps to avoid any issues with clients and to keep life simple. Due to a careless mistake in scheduling, Kahrren is stuck with an evening client that will bring an enormous change to her life.
The opening scene to this book literally gave me chills and immediately pulls you in without warning. All the characters relationships with each other were fun, exciting and absolutely loved our main detectives, Adams and Sharp. It felt like I was reading an old school detective novel and I was living for it.
Anyone looking for a sassy protagonist, charming but serious detectives and an amazing ending, this is the book for you.
As soon as I saw the great cover of this novel I was already intrigued. The prologue sets the stage very well for what's about to unfold in the story. Meet Kahrren McClintock, an unassuming massage therapist with a unique ability to read another persons mind from a single touch. This gift serves her well with her clients since she automatically knows what areas to cover during massage therapy without being told. But when a killer schedules a late night appointment, Kahrenn's gift thrusts her into the middle of a homicide investigation. The story line quickly unfolds from there becoming fast paced, unpredictable, genuine, and believable. The entire book is written concisely, has great descriptions, characters, and flows seamlessly. I also enjoyed the two detective characters and especially liked how Detective Mitch Adams ties into the overall story due to his past association with Kahrren's father. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys mysteries, crime fiction, thrillers, or paranormal genres.
I find psychics and murderers intriguing on their own and am even more intrigued by the idea of the two combined so I couldn't resist Touch Sense by Kenna Charles. The aforementioned psychic (though she's ambivalent about that word) is the independent, unfiltered and quick-witted Kahrren. While her ability to sense others' thoughts through physical touch usually works harmoniously with her job as a massage therapist, her gift imperils her when it reveals that her massage client may be a murderer. Like the subject matter and heroine, the plot of Touch Sense, which incorporates multiple viewpoints including those of Kahrren, her best friend, a police officer and the killer, is engaging and unpredictable. I tore through it in a matter of hours because I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen. It's clear from the ending (which I won't divulge here) that Touch Sense is a series and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

This book is well written, fast paced and full of suspense. It was easy to read and I really enjoyed it.
The absolute best part of this novel was the dialogue; it really kept me engaged and was super realistic and varied depending on the character. The characters were dynamic, witty, and very authentic. Just enough twists to keep the tension alive and the premise itself is very original. Will definitely be digging into the sequel very soon!
What a suspenseful read! Paranormal isn't my usual taste but I felt like I was watching a television show. It's a page-turner and Kenna Charles has a way with words. I would recommend it to anyone looking to pick up something new and unique to read.

🔮My opinion🔮 I really enjoyed this book. I feel that I am twinning with the main character, Kahrren…. Soo much. She is an inspiration. She’s funny, sarcastic, clever and pretty kick-ass and I loved the friendship group she has around her. The book does have a lot of description and scene setting which is normal for a first in the series book however the book is still fast paced and the story is so good! Soo many twists, clever links and set-ups for future stories. The psychic aspect made it very unique but also didn’t distract from the story. Well done matey (@kennacharlesauthor for such an epic start to your first book series! I can not wait for more!! Consider me a big fan! BRING ON THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES! I’m hooked 🪝
