After choking to death on a watermelon, Rong Jiahui thought that she would enter the netherworld and be reincarnated.

But when she opened her eyes, she discovered, to her very horror, that she had returned twelve years into the past…

Looking at the beautiful and awkward “little brother” that would be conferred the title of Marshal in the future for outstanding military service, she almost let out a snort of laughter.

She firmly decided to hug the thigh of this little brother, and climb to the top of her life!

The plan was beautiful, but it had just one problem.

Why had this little brother… suddenly turned into…

A little sister…

It was okay!! Sometimes you just need to read something light and sapphic and that you know won't make you too invested in it so you can keep hyperfixating on whatever hyperfixation you currently have.

The title says exactly what you need to expect, it's a light historical romance novel that could've been a little shorter (but it's actually the shortest chinese webnovel I've read) and was eventually quite sweet. It follows typical genre tropes so don't expect it to be anything groundbreaking but if you're just looking for something sweet and without much drama and want to get into baihe novels (and are not emotionally ready to read more angsty ones like FGEP or JWQS) this is something you can safely start with!

TW: that typical chest reveal scene that every cross-dressing novel has :/ (not too dramatic, only the protagonist sees, etc)

BEWARE of SPOILER

MC's life was not as she expected. Her husband ignore her, her mother in-law dislike her and the person she hated was on the top of success about to marry another person she hated. While lamenting all that, she choked on watermelon. Yes, not the best way to end your life but, it could be worst.

She woke up years earlier, before she met that person she hated and vowed to change the course of her life. As the MC get to know the FL, she found out that the FL was not that bad, clueless but, not that bad.

The main reason I gave this a five was because of the MC. She was headstrong but not in an annoying way. She pursue the FL but at the same time didn't forced her. She gave the FL choices. Either you like me and we get marry or you didn't like me and I marry someone else. And she's not some simpering lady who waited at home. She was bold enough to go to the border amidst war, because hey, the FL might need her.

This is almost similar to Yes or No the Thai movie. Even their characteristic matched a bit.

4.25* rounded down

This book is fairly light hearted and one should not compare it to FGEP while reading it because dude it’s nothing like that well known baihe at all.

I like the CP enough, I’d say A-B tier~

It’s decent! Short and quick read. Great for an angst break:)

Rong Jiahui has spent 8 years in a pointless marriage, unhappy and envious of the luck of other women. When she hears of Marquis Zhongli Luo returning from the battlefield, victorious and apparently looking for a wife, she regrets treating him coldly when he was being fostered in her home as a child.

Cue a climactic death via choking, and Jiahui is back in the past! This time she plans on thoroughly wooing Zhongli Luo so that she may secure a happy future. Of course, things aren't that easy when Zhongli Luo is actually a cross dressing woman.

The book plainly stated from the beginning that Jiahui is a little spoiled, self-centred and values herself over others. So I was actually quite happy to see her progress from thinking of Zhongli Luo as her one-sidedly declared future husband, to her actually liking Zhongli Luo.

Zhongli Luo on the other hand, seems to he painfully shy and introverted, speaking only when spoken to and it barely changes as the story progresses.

Both MC and FL are coded as bisexual or something along those lines, for it seems as if they could have been happy marrying men as well. Even Jiahui was fine with pursuing Zhongli Luo when she thought of him as a man, though her affections did not change when knowing her true gender.

A fun, short and sweet story. Nothing too spectacular, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Kudos to the translator as well, they've done a great job!

I liked this story a lot, the romance was so sweet. It was rushed (very rushed) but I couldn’t help but love the main couple so much. They have one braincell to share, but they both lose it the moment the other is in trouble.

La historia se va desarrollando bien al inicio pero al último se vuelve un poco aburrida
