All Katelyn knew about the Tooth Fairy was that the tooth went under the pillow at night and would be replaced by a coin. Then she met Tilly, and her life was never the same again.
Katelyn is a typical child who believes in Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny amongst others and in her eyes, the rules were simple especially when it came to the Tooth Fairy, but a chance encounter changes all that and she soon finds out that she holds a special power that can save the fairy realm but others seem to work against her.

I was born in Cambridge, UK, and began drawing cartoons from an early age. After school at sixteen, I became an apprentice bookbinder restoring and binding leather books and journals by hand. A trade I have now been involved in for over thirty years.

My cartoons and updates on my writing can be viewed on my 'David Howden Illustrator and Author' page. Many cartoons used in my books, as well as work-in-progress shots from initial pencil to ink, are featured. Many of these were used in 'The Tooth Bearer' illustrated book and the sequel, 'The Tooth Bearer and the Masked Crown'

My daughter provides much of the inspiration to write these books and also has helped with the drawings, submitting some of her own for the illustrated copy.

If you enjoyed 'The Tooth Bearer' series of chapter books for the young, and the young at heart, then please leave a review. It really does help.

This debut novel is ideal for any readers who believe in fairies; with a reading age of six to fourteen years, it is an ideal read for all the family to enjoy.
The only fairy Katelyn was familiar with was the Tooth Fairy; she looked forward to losing a tooth knowing that the Tooth Fairy would leave a coin in exchange for any teeth she left under her pillow at night.
Katelyn is like any other seven year old child who believes in Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, but once Katlyn met Tilly, her life was never the same again
Katelyn believes that the rules are simple especially when it comes to the Tooth Fairy, but a chance encounter changes all that and she soon finds out that she holds a special power that can save the fairy realm but others seem to work against her.
This endearing fairy tale is charming and inventive without being too sugary-sweet. It is a gripping adventure story, highly imaginative from start to finish, following Katelyn on her adventures. It is a brilliant adventure story for children to enjoy which will stimulate their own imagination.
The author wrote this first story for his daughter Katelyn, who is the main character in this tale and the inspirational muse for The Tooth Bearer series; she also illustrates some of her father’s books.
It is a gripping, make-believe, imaginative story.

A very enjoyable younger Middle-Grade book about tooth fairies and a girl who travels to their world. There is a wonderful cast of characters from Katelyn, the human girl, to Tilly the fairy, and the bad guy, Tiberius, and his henchmen, especially Stoneclaw. I enjoyed the storytelling and though I was a bit dubious at first about what use those teeth collected by the fairies are put to, the book does grow on you. It could easily as ended up as a somewhat maudlin tale but is instead creative, inventive, and imaginative. It is a standalone adventure with sequels to follow. But the, or one, adventure is complete in this one. I didn’t get the illustrated version, which I am sure would have been even better for the visuals.
