Moontied

The Varúlf have one monumental problem: in a modern world where magical races, once numerous, have been slowly disappearing, they’re next. There are whispers that witches may hold answers, but rumours help no one.

Wielders of elemental magic, descendants of gods and now existing solely in secret, the witches have been hunted to near extinction by the Varúlf, dangerous werewolf shifters.

Facing an extinction of their own, the Varúlf have turned to desperate measures to try and ensure their own survival - at any cost. But it has been decades since a witch was last seen…

… until one ventures far from the safety of her coven on a once-in-a-lifetime errand for an important ritual, only to find herself in the grasp of the one Varúlf unwilling to imprison her.

When Isa meets Braun on a hotel rooftop, she doesn’t know the danger she is in. And after she escapes, she finds herself longing for the man who saved her - the man, and the beast that she has spent her life hiding from.

Unwilling alpha Braun has no interest in pack politics. What he does have an interest in is the beautiful witch he saved from a literal pack of wolves, a woman he has no hope of ever seeing again.

With danger on her tail, Isa runs. But each time she runs back into Braun’s arms, it becomes harder to let her go.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-star, highly enjoyable read! A fun, well-written, steamy adventure from start to finish.

The introduction of the two main characters immediately was an instant hook for me — the chemistry, the sizzling tension between them, the threat of danger that followed them — all kept me reading and turning pages.

Isa is a witch away from the safety of her coven when she finds herself in the arms of one of the most dangerous creatures to her kind… who also happens to be hot as hell. Braun finds himself at odds with his own species as he tries to keep Isa safe, and complicates matters further by going and falling for her. As the main hero, he’s strong, capable, and extremely charismatic. I already mentioned he’s 🔥hot🔥 but I’ll throw it in there again cause he’s everything I love in a romance MC.

Side characters are well-crafted, multidimensional, and add a lot of richness to the tale. I’m looking forward to future books that will focus on some of the characters I’ve been introduced to with this book.

The world-building is phenomenal. The magic and folklore in the story is so well written it feels real, and enough details are provided to keep things fun and interesting, and to flesh out the motivations and desires of our main characters.

Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance or shifter romance. It’s steamy, fun, with lots of mystery and intrigue, and I’m looking forward to seeing the world Dwight has built again in the next book.

Fantastic start to a new series!

The opening interaction between Braun and Isa hooked me on their chemistry immediately and made me want more of them together. I loved the origins of the conflict between werewolves and witches, especially how one side sees the original story as a tragically interrupted romance while the other basically says kidnapping and stockholm. I like how neither side was presented as being right but both shown to be flawed in their own ways yet Isa and Braun were both willing to defy everything for each other. Cannot wait for the next book and more witchy-wolfie fun!

Moontied was such a great read and had such a fascinating history between wolves and witches. The chemistry between Braun and Isa from that first rooftop meeting was a nice sizzle that hooked me, and I like how quick he was to drop everything when Isa needed him. Who doesn't love a man who'll drive two hours into who knows what just because you're sad or scared?

I really like the take on witches and how their powers work (their gods are kind of dicks, though!) plus the hints that wolves MIGHT be tied more to magic than anyone wants to admit.

I'm intrigued to learn more about the wolves especially Braun's pack, and I like how all packs aren't exactly the same. Even the ones who are "bad" have a reason behind their poor choices and horribleness. It lagged a little one domestic scenes at times, but the action scenes definitely made up for it, and Isa deserved some normal after the repression of coven life.

Steamy and addictive

I’m in love with another fictional man! Braun though … how could you not love this man. Strong and protective and all kinds of sexy!
Isa is adorable. I loved her, the sense of her growing in power and confidence, yet having faith in her love even when things got really, really tough.
Loved the steaminess also!
A great read, I had to keep picking my kindle back up! Eagerly looking forward to the second!

A lot about this book was unique to me and I enjoyed reading it! Witches are sought out for their ability to be bred by Varúlfs, who are dying out. Isa and Braun are an unlikely couple and he should have delivered her to his pack, instead he keeps her safe and values her right to choose above keeping his family line going. The romance is very sweet, the culture somewhat archaic, but interesting. I read this in one sitting and I can't wait for the next book!

I loved writing this. It's a story that has been flitting around in my head for years, and it spawned an entire book series! I hope you will take Isa, Braun and all the others into your heart and enjoy reading about their journeys as much as I enjoyed writing them. There will hardships, of course, and heartbreak, but in the end, everyone will receive what they deserve: true love.

What do you get when you cross werewolves and witches? The type of romance I’m into, that’s what.

I was lucky enough to read this book during its various stages of conception, and I have fallen in love with Braun every single time. He is our reluctant hero, big and strong with a heart of gold, and makes this jaded millennial believe in love just a little bit. And Iselda, our heroine witch, is so pure in her kindness and sweetness. You can’t help but want to protect her and keep her safe from the big bad world.

Our couple faces threats from all directions, from werewolves and witches alike, and life seems fraught with danger at every turn. Yet in amongst the dangers are these sweet little moments of happiness and love, a glimpse of what could be, should be.

I love the way Camille has layered magic into and on top of our own world. It makes for a setting that is both believable and easy to grasp.

Moontied is an exciting read from start to finish, whether you are a fan of shapeshifter romance or not.

Moontied is the first book in the Witches Of Ridgewood series by Camille Dwight. It's a paranormal romance written in 3rd person.

It's a beautiful story full of mystery, suspense, love, trust, and steam that kept me engaged from start to finish.

I adore the main couple, from the moment they meet, there is a connection and so much chemistry.
Braun is not only crazy hot but also fiercely protective and kind. He doesn't hide what he feels, which is one of my favorite aspects of his character.
Isa is so strong and sweet, she is just a character everyone will like.
What I loved the most about this couple was their unanimity, they face so many hurdles, but they always fight them as a front. They believe in each other and their love.

I enjoyed the writing style of this story, it's very fluent and easy to read. The storyline was interesting and pulled me in from the start.
The author built a world with all the aspects of shifter/witches and managed to keep it realistic. For readers like me, who aren't familiar with paranormal romance, everything gets explained interestingly and understandable.
All characters are multi-layered and fully developed, they feel like real people. The side characters add to the story, I can't wait to read some of their stories.

I'm not someone who often reads this genre, but I loved Moontied, in my opinion, it deserves more than 5 stars. It's a story that is easy to read and love, so I recommend it to everyone, but especially the paranormal romance lovers will love this book.

I received an ARC from the author but am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This story has the following tropes:

- forced marriage
- love at first sight
- forbidden love

When I look at it like that, it seems to be a recipe of my favourite books. However, I didn’t totally love it.

The plot: Isa is a witch who has been tasked to find magical ingredients for a spell that will find her match and allow her to reach the highest level of her magical power. It’s the first time she is leaving the safety of her coven and she finds herself in a Varulf base.

The hotel she is staying at is a werewolf hotspot; even worse, they are her enemies naturally.

There she is saved by Braun, a gentle wolf who takes her under his wing and helps protect her.

As the story develops Isa has to decide whether to stick to tradition, go back home and get married or be rebellious and stay with the man she fell in love with. But of course things aren’t so simple- we have a fierce deity, a stubborn sister and a downtown pack who are impatient to catch witches.

What I liked:
The world that Dwight had created. It was interesting to read about the back stories of wolves and witches.

Gerrick- he was pretty hilarious and I’d love to know if he gets a chance with Rida

Atlas- the bad boy, younger brother was interesting and clearly a source of future stories.

What I didn’t like:
The language sometimes felt stilted and awkward. Especially the spoken language- it was a little old-fashioned, almost. I’m not sure if Dwight did this on purpose, but I wasn’t a big fan.
Some questions were unanswered: Isa’s magic? Isa’s aging vs Braun’s? Are Braun’s pack going to leave following the previous events? I know there will be more books in the series but I assumed the next stories won’t be about the same characters. Again, I could be totally wrong.

Thank you Camilla Dwight for providing me with an eARC for an honest review.

I absolutely adored Moontied and found it unputdownable! Right from the first chapter, I was hooked, and it only became more and more addictive. Everything about Moontied was spot-on, from the plot, pacing, and characters to the history and lore behind this amazing world of shifters and witches.

Swoon-worthy hero Braun totally captured my heart. He’s that perfect combination of super sexy, rough around the edges, and protective, willing to do anything for those he loves. And Isa is my favorite type of heroine to root for, full of both sweetness and strength. The romance and chemistry between Braun and Isa is positively electric!

Moontied held me enthralled as I flipped the pages, falling deeper and deeper into this magical world, the suspense and anticipation making my heart pound as I wondered how on earth Braun and Isa would get out of some impossible situations. My lips are sealed. But I can say that Moontied is a phenomenal tale, and I am eagerly awaiting the next book!

New Series Startup . . .

Apparently witches are almost extinct in an ongoing battle, hunted by the Varúlf who are powerful werewolf shifters. Now the Varúlf are also nearing extinction. When a witch leaves her coven tasked with finding magical ingredients for a spell linked to an important ritual, she puts herself in danger and is saved by a Varúlf she cannot forget. Isa meets Braun on a hotel rooftop, and she longs for him. Alpha Braun is also thinking about the beautiful witch he saved from the pack of wolves. He knows he will never see her again.

But when danger comes after her, Isa runs to Braun. How many times can he continue to let her go? These characters are so good together. Braun is protective. Isa is sweet and kind. And they both trust each other in such a comfortable way.

This was an interesting beginning to an intriguing new series. Isa and Braun are to magical beings that have a strong connection despite the centuries old feud between their kinds. Isa is a witch who the Valrulf have hunted to near extinction, and Braun is a Valrulf who are the monsters in the nightmares of young witches.

The story balances between creating the world where these characters live and the romance between Isa and Braun. I am interested to see where the author takes the series with Moontorn which will focus on two characters who only had a few scenes in the first book.

This story has a twist on the traditional 'werewolves & witches' trope that I enjoyed and look forward to delving into deeper with the rest of the series. It has star-crossed lovers, magic and mayhem, familial angst and vengeful dieties. At its heart, Moontied is a sweet love story that has you cheering for Isa & Braun's happily ever after.

This was a good start to what I can see being a great series. Braun and Isa had a great story together, and the storyline made it hard to set down.
There were some lulls throughout the book were the writing became a little overly detailed, but otherwise it was really well written.

3.75 ⭐️ A quick, lighthearted read for paranormal romance lovers! It was a good palate cleanser after reading a lot of heavy high-fantasy novels for me. This book had funny, lovable moments that made me smile—it was cute!

Witches and werewolves
Mates
Tight-knit family
Instant connection

🌶1.5/5 (several intimate scenes, not heavily detailed, more romance driven)

Favorite Quote:
“Family and tied couples use their full names with less social stigma. It’s considered intimate.”
“You introduced yourself to me with your full name.”
“What?” Isa frowned. “I did?”

First time reading this author and I will do so again. This is a romance between a with FMC and a werewolf MMC (truthfully the MMC is more Lycan than werewolf but many people conflate the two).

Loved the relationship development and the way the author wove the spice into the story. Whether it was to satisfy their mutual attraction or to further their relationship in some way, it was beautifully done in a very sex positive way.

The lore and world building were very interesting and I’m eager to see how that plays out in future books. Especially with regard to the hints at their species origins and the reasoning behind their decline. I was curious how the author was going to solve the “issue” of the mains remaining together and dang if the author didn’t dangle the solution in front of us the whole time without my realizing it. I loved that. Nicely done and a very satisfying end to their story!

Moontied was a interesting read. The story was good and the characters had me more than amused. However, I felt like a lot of things weren't explained well, but this could just be me not really reading well. Anyway I felt like the story could have went into depth about the witches culture and even Isa's past to the storm god's history. There was so much I wanted to know, you know. Atlas is a jerk. I mean he's the very definition, but he was fun. I would have liked to see Gerrick and Rida together, but I understand why that just couldn't be. While this story left much to be answered, I felt like it was a pretty good story. I look forward to the next. Hopefully a lot of stuff will be answered then.

Loved the book “Moontied”, written by Camille Dwight. It was a well written book that was full of suspense, love, and trust. Once I started reading I could not put it down. The book is the first book in the series and I will definitely be looking for more books in the series. I thought the main characters Isa and Braun were truly amazing and so well developed. This is the first book in the Witches Of Ridgewood series. The couple faces threats from all types, from werewolves and witches alike, their life seems fraught with danger. I love the way has inserted magic into and on top of the real world. It makes for a setting this easy to grasp. I highly recommend this book.
