Just stupid

Ok, THIRTY-SIX CHAPTERS into this simple romance, and I've had all I can take. You know how, when you meet your particular billionaire, and it's almost love at first sight? But then, you discover not only can he make you happy, and make all your financial problems disappear, but you love him, could love his child, this could solidify your career in just the way you've always dreamed....and so on. So naturally, you do the only logical thing you can do. Run out on him at every turn. Get all scared and upset and nervous about...something.
At the same time, you know how men who have succeeded in business to the point of becoming a billionaire, are so air-headed, they try to con the woman they find this love at first sight connection? Thinking a man who is supposedly well known in the community as a restaurateur, and chef, could---indeed would---decide the best idea to get acquainted with this woman, is to ask for cooking lessons and pretend he can't cook. She's a chef in the same city. Can't see how it could possibly go wrong.
Yeah, that's pretty much where we are after thirty-six chapters. The longer it goes, the stupider it becomes. For me, I give up.

Wishy washy at best. And bizarrely, while the blurb isn't entirely incorrect... It's really not right for this book IMO.

To start, we are faced with the Billionaire Daddy (BD) who's a famous chef & restaurant chain owner & his mooching artist BFF (living off his billionaire friend, but he's fine, that's not actually a big deal anywhere in the book). Anyway, these too are blokes blokes, all about eternal bachelorhood, hooking up and never the curse that are children! BD is all about his restaurants... they are his babies.

This horrible woman shows up with dollar signs tallying up his home in her eyes, but BD still thinks he might get him some, so invites her in... where she shows him pictures of his one year old kid from their one night stand at a previous restaurant opening. He doesn't remember her and is horrified at the idea of a kid, but takes her word for it, shows up with out lawyers or anything at a place of her choosing for DNA testing... And vwoala! He's a daddy. All in a week, BD pays her $2m to disappear with the kid and leave him out of it... and then she disappears... with the money, but leaving the kid for him to look after.

Mean while, we mean the h, who has a 3yo niece who loves her to bits... who the h just hates. She's so annoying. The h has daddy issues from her mums life, and relationship issues from her mum & sisters, and kid-hates, cause there's too many kids in the world and the parents are just going to break up and screw up their kids anyway, so we just shouldn't have any any more! She's all about becoming a head chef and owning her own restaurant.

So by this point... I am so done with this book!!! I'm not really liking any of them or the 'stupid' that being written into them either... BUT, I'm thinking, this kid isn't his. It can't be. There are too many gaps. So I'm going to stick it out and see the Big Bang.

Skip 2 years. BD is the perfect daddy to this adult 3yo who is so advanced she needs to be tested for alien DNA! The h is still struggling up the chef ladder under an asshole boss who talks her into auctioning a date for charity, which is where BD sees her and must have. h doesn't want to be there, is a bit of a bitch about the date, manages to work her kids are the devil speech in to the date, not realising he has a kid and they call it a night.

BD just has to see her again... and ends up lying... Of course, because already it's not weird that an up and coming chef with plans wouldn't recognise his name. But moving on. He tells her his personal chef died and he wants to hire her for an astronomical amount to spend a couple of hours a night cooking him dinner and teaching him (a well known chef) how to cook! Oh, and weeks later, he's still not told her he's got a kid OR that he's a chef when he asks her on an official date! Where again, she mouths off at hating kids. Then his parents show up and join the date, and mum spills the beans on the kid.

There's a little more back and forth, and the alien intelligent 3yo draws a picture of the three of them as a happy family, even tho she hasn't actually met her yet, and the h freaks, runs and ghosts on them.

She goes back to her old job with the asshole boss using her, and BD steps in and says she deserves better and he offers her a cream position in his business, and they have dinner and get together without really talking out what was going to happen. But of course, it works.

So, I finally managed to drag my self through this ridiculous story, and there was still nothing about the kid not being his. Just several comments about how much she looks like his BFF. Was a complete waste of my time!

Maddox has built his restaurant empire from the ground up. He works hard and he plays hard. He has no intention of slowing down or settling down, but that all changes when a woman shows up with a baby she claims is his daughter.

Maddox suddenly finds himself a single father, left with no choice, but to step up and be the Daddy that Abby needs, whether he has a clue what he’s doing or not.

Evelyn has just graduated from culinary school. She’s followed her dream and now that she’s got her business degree and her culinary training, she is planning to work her way up through the restaurant trenches with the goal of eventually owning her own restaurant.

She only has time in her life for her career, her sister and niece. Her mom is a naysayer who discourages and belittles Evelyn’s choices at every opportunity, so she has little in the way of support for her dreams. She spends a lot of time helping her sister and although she is growing to love her 5 year old niece, she couldn’t stand her as a toddler and has no plans to ever have children of her own.

When Maddox bids on a date with the stunning Evelyn at a charity event, he is immediately taken with her. Their time spent together is so enjoyable that he is desperate to find a way to spend more time with her. The chemistry between them is very hot and they share many of the same interests, but when Evelyn expresses her strong feelings about children, Maddox’s hopes are dampened.

Not one to give up though, Maddox concocts a scheme to hire Evelyn under false pretenses and to conveniently neglect to mention that he’s a single dad in hopes of discovering if their connection is worth pursuing further. He hasn’t dated since Abby came into his life, but what he’s feeling for Evelyn is so different from what’s he’s ever felt before. Maddox hopes that it could lead to something real and long-lasting.

What will happen though when Evelyn discovers that her new relationship is built on lies and that the man she was starting to fall for has the one thing in his life she swore she would never have?

Great single dad romance with believable and well thought out characters. It's a bit of a journey of self-discovery for two very focused and stubborn people who weren't looking for love, but found it anyways.

Standalone. HEA. No cheating.

This was the first book I read of Claire Adams and I felt that the author could do much better as she has a really good potential.

I really liked the writing style and content I just wish if this book had an unique storyline with a little twists and turns it could have done much better. The story was a little way too predictable and I was waiting for a climax but there was none.

And I would like to point out one more thing that children which she had showed us/or imagined in this story is way too mature from their age. I mean the three year and a five year talking like an adult. That was a little too much for me and completely unrealistic.

Yes, it was a good read but somewhere I felt like I wasted my time.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book....

While I liked the story, it didn't provide me with the "Wow" factor. There was something missing that I couldn't put my finger on. I felt Everly was a little immature in some areas of the story. I loved Abby. She was funny as any typical 3-year old can be. Her character was well-developed in my opinion. I admire Maddox for taking responsibility for Abby and raising her. It shows single dads in a positive light. I hope to be reading Nick's story soon!

Ah so sweet

4 stars

This isn't the first story I read by this author but it has been the most frustrating one for me.
The ups and downs between Maddox and Everily drove me bonkers. Just when the book caught me after losing me several different times it ended. I yelled.

It's a great fast read the author puts other books in as well but I only read the one but that's just me. More is too much at times,

Happy Sexy Reading

could've been better if there was more to the plot. the chapters were just too short for me and the characters weren't given much time for their relationship, families, and issues.
PS i picked this book because of the cover. So sue me xD

Billionaire Daddy - A Standalone Novel (A Single Dad Billionaire Romance Love Story) by Claire Adams is Book 6 of the Billionaires series and a Billionaire Romance

Billionaire Maddox Moore used to enjoy partying, beautiful women and good champagne until the mother of their baby Abby left her at his door and he became a single father. Chef Everly Winters is participating in a date auction at a fundraiser because her boss Phil told her it would help her career in the long run. A blond man with an attractive smile who'd been staring at Everly the whole time bids $20,000 and wins a date with her. Maddox's date with the stunningly beautiful Everly goes so well that he asks her out on another date, but she declines because she's not really interested in dating right now. Maddox wants to see Everly again, but first, he needed to figure out how. Everly is frustrated that after 2 years of sacrificing her life to work for Phil at Saint Padres, he won't give her a promotion. When the handsome and charming Maddox offers Everly a job as his personal chef and to teach him to cook, complete with a high salary and bonuses on holidays, she accepts. Maddox knows that Everly's the one but then he finds out that she doesn't want kids and believes that every marriage is doomed to fail. Maybe Everly is like Maddox, afraid of the responsibility and potential for failure, until a child changed his mind. Maybe it's time to tell Everly about Abby. Will Maddox be able to convince Everly that they're meant to be?

Billionaire Daddy is funny, sweet and steamy. Claire Adams has paired a heartwarming story with lovable characters for a book that I could not put down. I highly recommend this book.

This is a beautifully written romance story that will pull on your heart string. Everly is a chef just starting out and realizes that she may have to start at the bottom of the "food chain" but will own her own seafood restaurant on the pier one day. She is working for a man name Phil at this time in his kitchen and he talks her into going to a fundraiser to raise money for children. What she has to do though is auction herself off to the highest bidder for a date. Only a date. Maddox is a chef who owns a chain of restaurants. He happens bo be at this fundraiser with his daughter Abby and his best friend Nick. When he sees Everly, he has to bid on her and won't let anyone else have her. He spends $20,000 for a date with her. When she takes him to one of the worst restaurants in the area, he wonders why. He doesn't know exactly who he is yet. When she declines his offer to see him again, he takes it upon himself to offer her a job to be his personal chef and to teach him how to cook. What will happen when she finds out who he really is? When you grow up not believing in love or wanting children will that block you from taking a risk for something that is so worth it? This book is really well written and I don't want to give too much away about the story, I don't like to be that type of reviewer. It truly is a really sweet love story with a HEA. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Evelyn is recently graduated from culinary school. Her mother is putting pressure on her to get a job and isn't happy with Evelyn's decision to become a chef. She thinks Evelyn should date, get married and have kids. Evelyn has her dreams and right now men are not important. She wants to be a head chef of a nice restaurant and then run her own restaurant.
Maddox is a chef and owner of a chain of restaurants. He's enjoyed playing the field but now his past has caught up with him. A woman from his past is at his door claiming that her baby is his. When the test results show he is the dad, the mother runs off leaving him with the baby. To his surprise, he really enjoys being a single dad.
A few years pass and Maddox is at a charity dinner and auction. One of the women being auctioned catches his attention and he bids for her. Evelyn was pressured to do the auction by the owner of the restaurant she works for. She isn't happy but she agreed. Her date with Maddox is surprising to him since she chooses a simple restaurant. Maddox and Evelyn get along well and continue to date. Will Evelyn have to change her dreams?
This is a good book about a woman who had a dream but it changes after she meets the right man. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

I really enjoyed this story! I liked the characters and the pace. It is a slower paced story than a lot that are out on the market right now but I really enjoyed that aspect. It was different than what I've read recently and was a nice change. We really get to know the characters which is what I really enjoyed about it. Maddox is a single father and he has adapted to the role well. He has the cutest little girl. Everly is focused on becoming a chef and has been working her way up in the kitchen. She meets Maddox when he bids on her at a charity auction. They go out on a date and Maddox wants more but Everly is focused and doesn't want a relationship right now. Maddox decides to offer her a job under false pretenses (that he needs help cooking) in order to spend time with her. I thought it was cute. I thought the story was well paced and that we get to know the characters well. I loved seeing them build their relationship. I loved the way this story was written. The sex is explicit when it happens. It fits the story and the characters and I love how it was worked in. The story had a good length and is a little on the longer side. The story was very well done.

What a wonderful story. This one has a sweet storyline, one that will make you smile and also at times hit someone because you want Maddox to stop keeping secrets.
Maddox is a billionaire who had a one night stand that resulted in a baby girl - Abby. When Abby is left on his doorstep his world changes - for the better. Maddox and his best friend Nick raise Abby. She will make your heart melt.
Everly is a new culinary school graduate who grew up in a single parent home. She had decided she didn't want to marry or have children because the women in her family have all been divorced and she couldn't see bringing a child into a world with that pain.
When Maddox bids on Everly at a charity auction the two begin a dance. Maddox lies to Everly about need ing someone to teach him how to cook and pays her an enormous amount of money to do this. Unbeknownst to Everly, Maddox is an acclaimed chef. He also doesn't mention Abby.
As the two build a relationship Maddox is on borrowed time in case Everly finds out all his secrets.
Can their relationship survive when she finds out abut Abby?
This is a heartwarming story.
Can't wait to read the one about Nick and Lacey.

Received as an ARC for an honest review.

This is a story of the very wealthy guy who becomes a single dad and a girl who wants absolutely nothing to do with kids at all. Once Maddox sees Everly he knows he wants her. I really liked how persistent he was without being a stalker!! Everly has very strong convictions when it comes to marriage and kids because of how she grew up and makes every effort to maintain them. Maddox finds a way to continue to see Everly with somewhat of a ruse, he keeps things from her and tries really hard to not get attached. They both struggle with their attraction and their feelings toward each other. There are quite a few things that when they finally come out I expected there to be more backlash but it was just written in a way it all worked out without all the explanation. I sometimes need a little but more of the push and pull. I think some of the things that happened deserved a little more fight/fire from the 2 characters to get it back. Other than that I really enjoyed the way they got to know each other. How Maddox did things in such a way she was comfortable sharing, that was very heart warming!

This was a cute story that has a happy ending. Two professional people in the food industry are career oriented and not focused on pursuing a love life. Maddox, a wealthy restaurant owner has his life turned upside down when he has his child from a one night stand dumped on his doorstep. Abby changes his life, but he only has time for her and his work. Everly is a chef and has no interest in romance as she watched her Mom's unhappy flings with men. She enters the charity auction at the urging of her boss and is bought by Maddox. Instant chemistry for him and her, not so much. He later hires her as his personal chef and he wavers about telling her about Abby as she said she has no interest in having children. The book is a cute read, funny and sweet. It is well written and has a happy ending. No spoiler here, but you will enjoy this book. I received an arc copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

I will admit that this one was a bit of a slow burner to begin with and Evelyn was a little difficult to like but to be honest, I think Claire has written her this way intentionally. We see her as a driven, carer orientated woman who wants to protect her heart from anything that may hurt it as she has experienced in the past growing up with women around her who have been left hurt and abandoned by men.

Maddox is just the perfect soft-hearted, committed and loving billionaire who swoops in unexpectedly and together with his daughter Abby has not only Evelyn, but also Claire's readers, falling head over heels for them both!

This is quite fast-paced once it gets started and is a heart-warming romance story where for once, it's not the billionaire who is cold and in need of a wakeup call to love but the woman who steals his heart unexpectedly! I really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading more by Claire Adams.

Wonderful

I really, really enjoyed this book. To sum it up Maddox wins a date with Everly at a charity auction. He is instantly smitten. Everly is weary, she is focused on her career and doesn't think she needs a man. Maddox has a three year old daughter that was the product of a one night stand and whose mother abandoned on his doorstep. Everly is sure she doesn't want kids. What do you do when you are falling in love but it throws off what you always thought you wanted for your life? Maddox always thought he didn't want children but having Abby changed his life for the better. Can Everly let down her guard and let the love of a man and a child change her life too? You will definitely have to read it to find out. This is a nice, light, sexy and sweet read. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I voluntarily read an arc copy for my honest review!

This is a beautiful touching story and a reminder of the necessity of keeping the line of communication open and being truthful at all times.
The characters are so real that you feel that you know them personally and I don't really think that there was any of the major characters that I didn't relate to and would love to have a cup of coffee with them.
The food alone would make this book memorable without the marvellous story line and the addition of Bella and Abby to draw on the heartstrings.
Another winner for sure Ms Adams and one I would recommend for all romance lovers and those who love their male lead hot, sensitive and loaded.

After watching her mom change out men and her sister's divorce, Everly knows that marriage and kids isn't something that she wants. Maddox always swore he didn't want kids till he become the single parent to a little girl. Instant attraction blooms between the two, but can Everly overcome her phobia of both? Will Maddox be able to help her achieve her goals while proving that she can be more than her mom?

Definitely a cute and hot read. I understood that Maddox didn't bring up his daughter originally, but I do agree that he should have brought it up before she found out from an outside source. I understood Everly's point of view also, but to see the changes that she did when she became more mature was excellent. Great book and had a mix of sweet daddy times and hot sexy times!

I have to say I have fallen in love with this book. Maddox and Everly have had it rough no doubt, but they've overcome so much. When they finally find one another, Everly is overwhelmed when she finds out about Abby, but continues working for him and eventually seeing him. But she's still almost positive she doesn't want kids. After Abby surprises them with a painting of the three of them together, she's even more distraught and runs. Maddox finds himself realizing how much she means to him, but refuses to push her too hard. Until her idiot boss says things about her that sets him off. I'd love to see what happens with Nick and Lacey, they seem like another unlikely pair. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

It is so difficult to describe this Novel in a few sentences. It has so much. You get moved by the characters and feel with them. Claire Adams has made the story and the characters so realistic.
I was caught in the Novel from the start. It is funny, sad and moving.
The two main characters has their own carriers which they sacrifies everything for - until life catches up with them. Or should I write love.
They struggle with their feelings and that they have to change things and goals.
I was really not disappointed in the book and the blurb fits the Novel.
Just one thing. Sometimes it gets a bit too much to hear about their doubts of changing but is life not like that. I think it is.
Absolutely worth reading!

O.k Read, HEA, Not an ARC.

I downloaded this book for free sometime ago, with no review asked for, but am voluntarily doing one.
As a first time reader of a Claire Adam's rom/com, I found "Billionaire Daddy" to be an easy not to boring refreshing read, that had just enough of a story line to keep me turning the pages.
My normal reading is more sci-fi/ fantasy/paranormal/ hard core action adventure, cyberpunk, but every now and again I read a rom/com, to quiet my brain, and this has certainly done so.
I'm sure I'll be reading more of Ms Adam's book's in the future, as I have a number of her book's downloaded.
Therefore if your looking for an easy, not to boring well written rom/com, this is for you.

Claire Angel is the master at presenting sex on a stick. Her Billionaire Daddy: A Single Dad Romance (Book 1) is an irresistible example of this. Brooding billionaire Duncan might be doing every thing he can to avoid his son’s nanny Wendy, as he fears getting involved with her will inevitably lead to his son losing her, but chemistry like they have (thankfully) can’t be resisted. It’s as inevitable as a HEA, and just as much fun. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

I definitely recommend that you read this book.

The emotions in the book were raw and honest. Ms. Adams tackled single parenting while introducing a significant other into the mix quite well. Not everyone takes to parenting like ducks take to water.

I really understood Everly and related to her on so many levels. I understood her fear, anxiety, and her cowardice, too. I liked that Maddox didn't completely withdraw from her whenever she withdrew.

Abby was a star all on her own, and she, along with the rest of the secondary characters helped to make this book into an excellent read.

You won't regret this purchase.

This is a wonderfully sweet romance with an adorable group of characters, the male lead is a billionaire restauranter with a beautiful little girl and the female lead is a chef who longs to own her own restaurant and never wants children, that makes for an interesting pair. The story was well written, sweet, thoughtful and even sexy in places it has a steady flow that kept interested in the storyline throughout. I loved this book from start to finish.

The book was very slow and repetitive in regard to Evelyn's thoughts about not wanting a husband or a child, her sisters remarks on the subject, and her mother's admonitions towards her college debts.
An editor could erase some faults in the plot:
- Maddox walks ahead of her to the kitchen and in the next paragraph Evelyn leads the way into the kitchen;
- it is a busy Monday morning when Maddox calls her, it is a busy Friday after lunch while she thinks about his offer; what day is it?
For an ambitious chef Evelyn didn't do a lot during her day as she only cooked in the evening for Maddox, I expected more for the plotline; overall very predictable.

This is a very good romance. You have characters that you know belong together but have some real issues to resolve. He keeps some secrets that jeopardize their chance at love.

I liked that the author really developed the characters. You get their history so you can understand the choices they make - good or bad. They both have been shaped by their pasts and it complicates their relationship. They have amazing chemistry and you really want them to find their way.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
