well the promo phrase says it all 🤭 Giana is such a bratty, dramatic crybaby and I didn't like her much.
I didn't like Alessio much either 😒 I just don't like it when the feeling of attraction is one-sided for more than 50% of the book. It made Giana seem well... delulu 😔 also, I'm greatly biased towards he falls first trope. The smut was really good though 🤌🏽
#1st READ: I'm a messy bitch for toxic drama and this book served so fucking well.
#2nd READ: 123456789/5 FUCKING STARS ✨🫢 For all the literary masochists who love being tortured by DRAMA, this book's for you.
#3rd READ: I'm such a whore for bazookah's books.
#4th READ: I live for the toxicity in this book. Sue me.
#5th READ: This book might have the most imperfect characters ever but did I totally devour this shit? Abso-fuckin-lutely!
#6th READ: Good fucking gracious, how can a book be so toxic and so effortlessly funny and so damn hot at the same time? The perfect recipe to cure my depression.
i don’t know whatever to hate this to my core or love this with every inch of my being but i reread this three times so it must be something in between
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I love Bazookah for writing this, this book literally let me see that reading can be fun🩷🩷💋💋. I love Gianna in the beginning of the book she was a little cringe, but she became such a good character. Oohhh and Alessio MY MANNNN I love him so much. In the comments of Wattpad there were so much people that don’t like him but I like him and I wish he was real. I love him more then Nico, I did not read Getaway so I can’t say things about that story BUT I KNOW THAT IT IS GOING TO BE FUN TO READ🩷💋💋!! I give this book 6⭐️

2.5 - The author said she wanted to write imperfect characters that you're not meant to like, and wowww did she succeed. #isthisragebaitchat
CHARACTERS - Alessio is such a horrible, horrible person; it's jaw-dropping. Don't get me wrong, he had his good moments, but I can't get it out of my head that Giana is 19!!! The poor girl goes through insane trauma and is being groomed by William, all while falling for her protector, like NO. He constantly degrades her and invalidates her actions (BTW, Giana also has her bad moments EVERY chapter in this book, BUT she is literally so young and vulnerable; she should not be treated so disrespectfully). Alessio treats her like a child and an adult at the same time, which I HATE. giana has no sense of self preservation, always making quips at the worst times when she knows damn when what could happen, but god i just feel so bad for the poor girl. She is lonely and disrespected and deserves better than Alessio. Liam knew what was up when he clocked Alessio at the hospital. MARCO MY LOVE, one of the best characters, was always there for Giana. Jacob was another breath of fresh air in this cast of chuzz. I DID like Giana and Alessio in certain parts, but I just can't forgive how he mistreated her on so many occasions, knowing how inexperienced and vulnerable she was. this book definitely made me laugh though even if it was ragebait, the chemistry is written well (a big part of why i dont fully dislike the book) its just I think there was just too much of him effing up.
PLOT - they stopped talking around 8 times in this book, tbh probably more, and it felt soooo repetitive. I also feel like the only times he was nice to her at the start were before or after they got freaky or were in bed, which was so ugh. i did love the part where we shot william three times that was so peak like yesssss (hated that pedo) ALSO i did not like that she was in highschool i dont gaf if she got held back a year it just felt weird, but I do like the plot point of her having a learning disability I think it added depth to her situation and was actually interesting. I feel like the story could've ended so much sooner in terms of the whole Greta situation because Alessio is supposed to be a MAFIA BOSS. What is he doing being controlled by Greta?? Like, yes, she needs to do the deal, but it was so easy to do it the other way instead of doing the whole fake relationship smh.
OVERALL - I liked the chemistry in this book, and the characters were very fun at times, some of Giana and Alessio's one-liners actually made me laugh like omg who comes up w this, and Giana is a BADDIE, I just wish she was less of a doormat, don't blame her though because she is again NINETEEN. Mind you, age gaps don't usually affect me, but this one just unsettled me too much because he is too serious and she is too childish, but wtv ig. The good parts in this book were really peak to read, I just cant get past the bad parts, overall would not reccomend sadly, but i WILLLL be reading the next one. I did like the ending though, the character DID show growth throughout the book, especially my girl Giana, also Alessio trying to understand her better, which I liked, I just feel like it should've come quicker ykwim. Alessio was still so fun to read about, though, especially during his sassy scenes and scenes w giana iykwim, bazookah put her whole bazooky into those omg. (he was always so loving and shit during those scenes, but then he would go back to being mean, like ugh. I like the lovey version which we get in the latter half of the book, aka the half I liked.) I appreciate the author trying to write flawed characters, but they (alessio.) are a lil too flawed for me thank yew. Also, I do like this author, she wrote these characters to be flawed, and they are exactly that. I am so excited to read Runaway, hopefully it has easier to like characters lmao.

(2.6/5 stars) alr so let me just start off by saying i was pushing through this book just so i can get to runaway and see what the hype is about. i would see ppl saying they loved hideaway and how it gets better as you continue reading but it genuinely never got better for me until the ending and that perverted teacher got shot. giana and alessio would honestly pmo more then i wanted them to. she would be a baddie and a diva sometimes but then MOST of the time she just gave me 2nd hand embarrassment. she would do unnecessary bs and always at the end of the day run back to him even after she said she wouldn't and he broke her heart. she was also so head over heels for him for the majority of the book which i also didn't like. bazookah also clarified in some of her chapters that there is a MAJOR character development which i honestly saw a little however i think thats why i didn't like it as much. i hated the fact it took her so long to realize that he was honestly not good for her and then when she finally realized that, he fell for her.. the scene where she realized that alessio brought her to his home because she was sold to him was such a plot twist that i didn't expect. i honestly think it was so random but also so fast paced. like she had an immediate crash out which is fine and expected but then she just didn't forgive or talk to him for a chapter or two and then they went back to normal.. the age gap was also not doing it for me but i just reminded myself to forget about that and think they are around the same age. anyways i feel like ive hated more on this book then said some stuff i actually like abt it so let me talk abt that 😭. bazookah said that there would be character development and i definitely feel like there was some. by the end of the book giana didn't need alessio to take care of her and she finally became more independent which i love even tho it took a while. the background stories of the characters and their parents was so sad but also interesting. i feel like one big reason i liked this book was genuinely because of the author. i love her writing style and i feel like she genuinely did her big one on runaway. i love when authors write things that just makes you reread the line multiple times and i feel like she definitely does this in her books.

holy cow this book was a ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONS. you have to be mentally prepared to read this book because it’s very slow pace but the buildup, the character development, the SMUT OH GOOD LORD— this author put their heart and soul into this book and it really shows. this is perfect if you’re into that Mr. Grumpy meets sunshine but understand there are a lot of heartbreaks in this story but it’s all super worth it as it’s a really good read! the only reason i gave it 4/5 stars is just because of how back and forth the characters were feeling—it made sense but some of it was a little frustrating (which i think was probably the authors main point of the story). Happy Reading!
yo i have no idea what drugs were put in this shit but i haven’t devoured a book on WATTPAD of all things in i can’t even tell you how long.
maybe i’m messy and like drama but this was like so fun.
the only thing was that the pattern started to get on my nerves bc he would fuck up and then apologize and then not change his behavior. it was like a constant push and pull on his end and for giana…that bitch is straight up crazy.
i know she’s extremely traumatized and hasn’t processed all of it. she doesn’t realize that those things have affected her and are the reason why she does the things that she does.
everyone was getting mad at her for being childish and immature without giving her much grace. like we’re literally reading an age gap romance. she IS immature, childish, and reeling in her grief which could be fueling her acting out.
like i get it alessio is sexy but that doesn’t make him a baby that does no wrong. and i can see that people don’t wanna baby giana and want to give alessio some grace too.
like i kept seeing “giana’s an adult” legally sure but she’s also been sheltered her entire life, is extremely traumatized, is still in high school, and is again, only 19. reaching the age of 18 doesn’t come with a come to jesus moment. it doesn’t bring a sense of enlightenment or maturity. she’s still extremely young and naive and way in over her head.
i feel like this speaks to a larger issue of people putting such pressure on women at a young age in comparison to men to “be the bigger person” and to be more mature regardless of age or situation.
anyways. alessio did grow a lot. like the man groveled.
the way he didn’t blink at her giving away his ferrari, or maxing out his black card when she was mad at him. and the way he ate all of the mayo and sardine salad she made knowing he would hate it just because he he wanted her to stop being mad. (he got food poisoning) the way he got jealous of the tripawd. the way he was obsessed with her after she got hurt and would be with her all day everyday even if they weren’t speaking. the way he put that chip in her bracelet after it almost got stolen so he could get it back for her in case she ever lost it.

A dark, indulgent tale of seduction and rebellion—but it doesn’t quite hit the mark.
FMC: Giana – Beautiful, innocent on the outside… but beneath that sweet façade, she’s bratty, manipulative, and spoiled. MMC: The Mafia Don – The man who can give her everything but himself—until she decides she’s going to get him anyway.
Giana’s world is turned upside down when she’s sent to live with La Famigilia after her family dies. Beautiful, sweet, and innocent on the surface, she’s the Principessa, untouchable and demanding. She gets everything she wants—except for the one thing she craves most: the Mafia Don.
What follows is a twisted game of seduction where Giana, as a bratty, spoiled teenager, doesn’t let anything stand in her way—not even the Don’s refusal.
🔥 Dark mafia themes. 🔥 A spoiled FMC who refuses to be told no. 🔥 Forbidden attraction that pushes boundaries.
While the plot has potential for a captivating power struggle, Giana’s character can be frustrating at times. Her unrealistic naivety mixed with her manipulative nature makes it difficult to feel sympathy for her, especially when her actions feel like they’re meant to provoke rather than add depth to her character. The pacing can also drag, and while the tension between Giana and the Don is palpable, it doesn’t quite sustain the excitement throughout the entire book.
Overall, it’s a steamy mafia romance with some intriguing moments, but it doesn’t fully deliver on its promise. For readers who enjoy forbidden romance and a spoiled FMC, it’s an enjoyable, though flawed, read.
⚠️ Entertaining, but be prepared for a heroine who might test your patience.
this wattpad book is ten times better than most dark romances i’ve read on my kindle. just like what i said about the sequel to this story, runaway. i read this book after runaway, and ill be honest i was not crazy about Giana, the FMC, for like the first half of this story. she is bratty and desperate. kinda delulu when it comes to Alessio. but once they’re together, and the plot picks up, it gets way better.
the overarching plot is pretty interesting, though and as always with this author - i love the character development. her characters are never portrayed as inherently good. they are flawed but the development is always redeeming, in one way or another.
also, the spice is wild. lmaooo
𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬: age gap, alpha, mafia/crime syndicate, forced proximity, friends to lovers
First thing’s first it’s crazy how they’ve got Wattpad stories on Goodreads.
Look is Alessio toxic? Yes but let’s be honest both of them could not find a more perfect person for themselves. I love how obsessed he is with her and how iconic Giana is. Ppl saying that she’s dumb or annoying clearly don’t understand the whole point of the book. She has lived a sheltered life for the most part and has never really been denied anything so why would she understand what it’s like to be told no.
If you love a classic Italian mafia book with a moody mmc then you will love this book, it’s got all the best parts without it being TOO dark.
And don’t get me started on the tension 😩 😘🤌🏼 chefs kiss. And the smut brooooo.
Literally just read this book because when I tell you I’ve read it probably five times since it came out I’m not lying.
Also if you love this then read her other books cus they’re both incredible.
3.5⭐️ THIS TOOK ME SO LONG I- wtf😭 yeah you won’t catch me reading another Wattpad story for the next 5 years I- anyway. Surprisingly I really enjoyed it. This was very long and a few chapters were dragged but it wasn’t unbearable. I liked it. I loved Giana’s character development but Alessio’s behavior sometimes literally pissed me off sm. All in all I liked the story. I would’ve liked it even more if we would’ve gotten more of Marcos backstory and maybe even a bit more information on the “villian” of the story. Like why they did stuff. But I think the result was intended by the author so that’s okay. But I really liked Alessio and Giana together especially because I’m pretty sure they could’ve been THE mafia couple their whole city would’ve feared if Alessio would have let her in sooner on everything. I mean the last scene with Greta said it all. Loved it. Power couple fr.
i have so much i could say but i’m going to keep it simple. this author is so amazing and deserves so much more recognition!!! giana and alessio were such complex characters. i found myself loving even the not so good parts of them. i just wanna hug them both. the way this author wrote was just so beautiful. some of her chapters literally had me holding my breath and dying. so many butterflies. i related to giana so much it was crazy. also there was apart in this book that really broke my heart and i had to take a minute to cry.
Slow paced at first but what I loved most was the development of the characters. How, looking back, they've grown so much and have matured more. I liked the writing style and the overall idea and plot of the sorry. The twists were just okay but it was still really a great reading experience for me.
I also appreciate how the author was very careful about sensitive topics and asks opinions, too. And the author's messages were really cute, lol.
This books is spicyyyyyyyyy 🌶🌶🌶, but it definitely has a lot to offer in terms of the characters, plots, and the like!
Let me tell you, Alessio is just so fucking fine? No words fathom his beauty and love for Giana. Sure, there were times when I wanted to body slam him through a wall, but like also, love him. Also love how Giana went through a healing journey throughout the book. She had major character development... like learning that she didn't need validation was EVERYTHING. It also was just hilarious the Alessio suddenly became obsessed with her after she stopped caring, like, #girlbossing!
AND THE FUCKING BLOWJOB IN THE CLOSET SCENE MADE ME WANT TO DROP TO MY KNEES AND JUST FUCKING SUCK BRO.
Bazookah is such an incredible writer! The way Giana manifested her man >>> I want to be like her! And let's talk about the end, ok? How Patatino claimed to hate Cucci and calling her tripawd just bc she is a 3 legged dog but in the end doing everything for her 🥹 I'm so in love with this trilogy that it hurts me physically. Anyways, Giana and Alessio >>> Also, I love Marco, Liam, Divy, Jacob and Lily SO FUCKING MUCH!!!

I enjoyed this book it was kind of a slow burn but there was lots of aspects to it which didn’t really match with the slow burn aesthetic. I loved the relationship between Alessio and Gianna however it got a bit repetitive and almost boring which is why it has a 3 star. I’m not sure if I would recommend this book
Toxic as hell but this was a fun read, Giana is actually so insane and I applaud her. She had a plan and despite everyone calling her delusional, she still got her man. There were so many embarassing moments thanks to Giana that had me laughing so horribly. Alessio…a don with two brain cells but I love him

The beginning was sooooo cringe and uncomfortable to read. But I pushed through and was rewarded, because the writing really turned around and it was really enjoyable to read. From bazookahs three mafia/dark romance books, this one was my least favorite, but it was still good (though the “daddy-smut-scene” was super cringe and unnecessary).
If it had been 30 chapters shorter and focused more on the plot and not just throwing smut in almost every chapter and didn't constantly mention how the FMC was "innocent" all the time, then I would have absolutely loved this book.
I love love giana she absolutely deserves the entire world. while there were many parts of this that were so mortifying, I do think that’s a normal part of life like people do dumb shit all the time yk but overall LOVE LOVE
This is one of the best fictional stories i have ever read. I loved every tiny crumb of this book it owned my body, mind and soul. Please give this a try you will not be disappointed, also i just finished it last month and i’m gonna re-read it again.
liked but didn’t love it feel like both the characters were a little toxic and gianna was de bratty but i’m pretty sure the whole point was that either the characters are unlovable or you love them. imo i didn’t care for either of them that much but i still really enjoyed reading this book
i liked this book but i didnt like alessio as much as the others. i liked giana but the one-sided attraction and desire at the start cringed me out cause poor girl was embarrasing herself infront of alessio.
