Not the way I had thought it would go. I was close to disappointment, but it made up for it in setup for the next one. but I had still hoped for more. I really liked the cameos from the other books.
Another great addition to the series. The only problem that I have is that I get so engrossed in the story I forget to sleep, but I absolutely love the books and this one is no different. It gave me chills during the last battle between Michael and Rimuru.
Besides the color foldout, there are no interior illustrations, so I feel a bit cheated. This volume was completely battle-focused as we get into the final war. There was some pretty interesting matchups, and overall it was good.
Plot was shallow and rushed with literally zero actual fight scenes; power levels either constantly exaggerated or changing; no depth or back story added for any ongoing characters; most boring novel yet
80% of the book was longwinded and unnecessary. The last 20% was interesting, but this series needs serious editing to cut out the extraneous material.
This book literally had me on the edge of my seat. It was that intense. It even had characters I wasn't even expecting to see again and they got their just desserts.
4.5/5 Volume 19 was a really action packed volume. The war against Michael is in full swing. No long strategy sessions or meetings here. Which is a nice change of pace. We still are getting some new characters which is a bit much 19 volumes in. But most of this is giving Dagrull the giant demon lord some back story so it’s not all bad. Large battles are happening in almost all of the major kingdoms of the world with different groups facing off against each other. This volume didn’t wrap up all of the battles but it feels like the main one was and it’s going to be weird to go back to the lesser characters in volume 20 but I’m still looking forward to it.
Note that Mitz Vah was ill during this volume’s publication so it’s missing his fantastic art pages.
It feels good to be caught up to the English releases for the first time in a couple years. Supposedly only 3 volumes left. The anime has only covered 8-9 volumes so far and I’m way behind on that.
I'm not sure if it's me or the book. I was fairly distracted while reading it but the book felt a bit "雑" (messy).
The battle of the demon lords and angels progresses into full-fledged warfare after the initial sting attack is rebutted. About halfway through it becomes really cute and fun :- ).
