With the upcoming release of the books in her new Kensington series, bestselling author Loree Lough will have 121 books on the shelves (8,000,000+ copies in circulation). Her writing style has been compared to Nicholas Sparks and Mary Jo Putney, and readers and reviewers often call her “a gifted writer whose stories touch hearts and change lives.”
With a long list of industry awards, it isn't likely this prolific author will ever retire...not even to her cozy li'l cabin in the Allegheny Mountains. She loves to hear from her readers and personally answers every letter sent to http://www.loreelough.com/.
Priscilla Hires a Husband by Loree Lough is a fun, inspiring read. Priscilla and Caleb both have a problem and only marriage to each other would solve those problems. Priscilla can’t inherit her aunts estate unless she marries and she desperately needs it to help her aging grandparents. They lost everything in a fire. Caleb loves his small ranch, but he will lose it unless he gets money quickly. Neither want marriage, but it seems the only solution. So they get married and they are thrown into many circumstances. You won’t believe the things they endure, but they also help each other. Will they fall in love or will this be a loveless marriage just for name only? Loree Lough is a fun, exciting author whom knows how to write and keep you reading. I recommend Priscilla Hires a Husband.
Thank you to Whitaker House for providing this book for review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255
You can tell by how fast I read the book that it was a good one, but just so you truly understand-let me state that I am not good at writing reviews but will do my best to do this one justice. Prescilla is very happy being single but is forced to get married to secure the happiness of her family, that said-she actually discovers she has many things in common with and actually enjoys the company of the man she marries who is a loving and handsome man. This is a book that moves along at a good pace and keeps you guessing at things as well while keeping you entertained and smiling the whole way while being romanced along the way. I totally recommend it. If you have been at all fortunate enough to have ever read any of Loree's books before, this one is another good one and it just makes me want to close out of this review so that I can run over to Amazon (sorry, that's where I shop) and start looking for my next one. See you all there!
Priscilla and Caleb agree to enter into a marriage of convenience to better both of their lives. Caleb lost his first wife during her pregnancy and feels he is bound by a pledge he made to God after she died to remain faithful to her so he strives to keep his relationship with his new wife one of friendship and nothing more. The entire plot is based around the emotional turmoil of being married and in love but not being able to express that love. There is no other conflict, not a lot of character development and not many other characters even in the book. There were a few time jumps in the story that I didn't appreciate, for example, the story abruptly skips ahead six months from the night they are married. There was so much more I wanted to experience with them as they adjusted from being casual friends to husband and wife. Not a bad book but not one I will read again in the future.
