When Delphine travels the Isle of Skye and accidentally finds herself thrown back in time to ancient Scotland, she catches the interest of attractive Eamon MacLeod but is also at center of a mysterious plague and accusations of witchcraft…
Occult bookstore owner and practicing witch Delphine Owens arrives on her free vacation to the Isle of Skye embracing the time away from the ultra-conservative protestors harassing her store. Initially shocked and unprepared for her transport back in time, she’s pleasantly surprised to catch the attention of an attractive Scotsman. But when a witch is blamed for a mysterious illness, Delphine gets nervous.
Serious, workaholic loner Eamon MacLeod understands the magic the Keep is steeped in, so he isn’t surprised by Delphine’s appearance from the future, until the village is hit with a sudden illness the very next day. After training as a witch hunter for the church during years away from the castle due to his father’s exile, Eamon investigates the claims the plague may be caused by the very thing he’s uniquely qualified to track down.
When the investigation points to the work of a witch, Cara must trust the man she barely knows but already cares for with who and what she really is in order to find the truth, or else, she might end up burning at the stake.

Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. In this story Dolphins Owens is a practiceing witch who owns a book store when she wins a raffle to Scotland and ends up being taken back in time to the castle dunscaith in the 16th century. Awesome
I really liked Delphine's interesting character with her clarity of thought, sharpness, insight, sensitivity, and the natural skills of her craft. She knew how to handle her new situation immediately, understanding that it was an opportunity to leave behind the prejudices, the negative currents and the doubts that had been stalking her. I was intrigued by Eamon MacLeod from the start and liked his commitment to make things right, to change the image that others had of his person and to protect Delphine. In this story, the protagonist not only had a role of helping to solve a mystery, but the experience helped herself as a person. Read the story in one sitting and found the narrative very interesting with a plot that I found different and with an intriguing mystery that had me thinking and wondering what Delphina was going to do. Love these time travel stories! Suspense, mystery, a villain with a screw loose, romance and passion. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received from Book Funnel
Delphine is a witch and the owner of an occult book store. When she wins a trip to Scotland, she's visiting a castle and finds herself transported back to 16th century Scotland. When she meets Eamon MacLeod he's not particularly surprised about the 21st century women in 16th century. When Delphine goes to help the sick, she's suspect and is accused of being a witch. Eamon is struggling to overcome people's dislike for his father and that has consequences. and he tends to be quite guarded. I really liked both of these characters, Eamon is loyal, trustworthy, and stands up for Delphine and she is determined to help, is smart, compassionate, and steadfast. The book is a great addition to the Highlander Across Time series and all the books in this series can be read for free with your Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I received an ARC from Booksprout and this is my honest review.
Delphine in a witch that is thrown back in time. Eamon is the handsome Scot that she is instantly attracted to. But when an illness appears that looks to be caused by a witch, Eamon will have to pull some tricks out of his bag to protect her. I loved this story. Part of the attraction is that we didn't spend a ton of time trying to figure out the time travel part. Because both were aware of magic, it didn't take half the book until they believed it had happened. Both characters were well developed and I liked both of them. I thought they belonged together. While there was danger, they were a great team and the romance carried them through.
Delphine is thrown back in time to the world of the McLeods circa 1600 with a unique skill set. Of course the knowledge is highly suspicious in this time! Eamon had been introduced in a previous novel I think, so it was nice to get to know him better. I enjoyed watching this couple work together to sort out what was happening in the village. It seems that the pattern set for time travelling women and their HEA’s continues!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book as all the ones before it. Rebecca Preston is a great author and puts so much detail into her books, with great storyline and lovely likeable characters. A must read and if not read any of the “A highlander across time” books, would recommend to read them all.
I thought that this was a fun read. The story held my attention easily and I liked the characters. There is a smartly crafted blend of romance, drama, mystery, suspense, heat and heart that is woven into an enticing web that I was quite happy to get lost in for a few hours. This is my frank and freely posted review.
I was starting to worry that I might find the series drying up a little (no pun intended), but this story alleviated that fear. I loved Delphine, the fact that she understood so quickly what was going on because of her abilities and was able to settle in well while overcoming fears and obstacles make this a fantastic read. Wonderful character work and attention to detail from Ms Preston.
Thoroughly enjoyed this time travel book. Eamon felt like an outcast with his own family. Delphine drops into his world and problems begin. Superstition, suspense, intrigue, mystery and romance. Excellent characters with a touch of magic in the story. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Preston.
While each book is a stand alone story it is interesting when they each tie into previous stories. Do your self a favor, go read the previous 6 stories of strong, intelligent, independent, modern women who go through a door in the ruins of a castle, only to find themselves in the 16th century with hunky, hot Highlanders.
This was a good time travel romance. I liked the storyline, it was interesting and entertaining. Delphine and Eamon had a great connection and I enjoyed reading their story..
