Overall I liked this book. Kyle is an actor and was undercover as Jack for new role. He falls for Grace who has a problem with famous people. Their relationship wasn't too bad. However, their relationships with their families was awful. I wish in the end they had handled them differently. The good news is that Grace and Kyle got their happy ending.

What a sweet story.

Kyle is undercover as a firefighter when he falls for a fellow firefighter named Grace. Their story takes off from the very beginning. As lust at first sight takes them on a long journey of self discovery, deep secrets and many scars. On their journey they learn Lot and help each other heal from the scars in their past. But will it be enough or will Kyle’s secret be the death of a beautiful relationship?

This book takes off from the start will undeniable chemistry between Kyle and Grace. Their story burns up the pages as they have such a strong and magnetic bond.

Overall this book is a steady paced romance filled with love, lust, lies and anger. All of these things make this book explosive. The characters are strong willed and very independent. Their story flows through the pages flawlessly.

Sarah Brooks is an amazing romance author. He stories are deep, heartfelt and intriguing. And let us not forget sinful!! Heat levels of 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Yep that hot.

Kyle Bryce is a famous actor who's doing research for an upcoming film. In order to do that without being recognized, he goes by the name of Jack Acker and he'll be partnered with fire fighter Grace Hughes. On first meeting, there is an immediate attraction and, after a day of work, they go to Grace's for a one night stand and both of them hope it is the start of numerous one night stands. As they grow closer, some secrets they are hiding come to the surface and their immediate reaction is one of hurt and disbelief. Their secrets aren't of the severely damaging variety, but more of an embarrassment for how they've lived their lives. When someone in his inner circle betrays Kyle, he unfortunately jumps to the conclusion that it was Grace and walks away from her. Grace is devastated, but she has an art exhibit to plan for which turns out to be an extraordinary success. The insider that betrayed Kyle is a surprise, but it all makes sense once more of the truth comes out. The issue of their parents has been at the heart of the story and the resolution is heart warming. Forgiveness is never a problem when you have as much trust and love at the heart of your relationship and Kyle and Grace have a wonderful HEA. This is a wonderful addition to Sarah J. Sarah J. Brooks has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Grace and Jack (Kyle). Grace is one of two firefighters at her station and when she gets into work one morning, she is called into the chief's office. He is not alone and when she looks at the man, she has an instant attraction to him. She finds out he is Jack Acker and her chief is having her partner up with him while he is there, which will be three weeks. Grace shows Jack around and introduces him to the rest of the team. Once their shift is over, Jack asks her if she would like to go and have a drink with him. At first, she is not sure but she agrees to go. They don't want the night to end and Grace takes him back to her place and they sleep together. The next morning when Jack (Kyle) leaves, she watches him walk away. She goes to her studio and starts to paint. She loses track of time and it takes her a few minutes to make out the knock on her door. When she answers, it's Jack (Kyle) with takeout. the chemistry between them is off the chart and they don't fight it now. Jack (Kyle) sees that she has been painting and asks about it. Grace shows him the work she has at her apartment. He ends up buying one of her paintings. He tells her that she is good and offers to say something to his friend Greg, who owns an art gallery. She tells him that it is a hobby and she is not ready for that just yet. They start seeing each other in secret. Jack (Kyle) is with Grace when she gets a call from her mom about her dad being at the hospital. She is too upset and he offers to drive her to the hospital. When she gets to the hospital, she finds out her father had just broken his leg and will be all right. They are driving and run into traffic. Grace gets her GPS to give them a new route and it takes them through Jack's (Kyle) home area. He tells her that he knows how to go from there and she can turn it off. She says something about a director living in the area. Jack (Kyle) has worked with the director and said that he heard that. He asks if she would ever date a celebrity? She tells him no. they talk about why not as they continue to drive. Jack (Kyle) feels like there is more to it than her just saying no. Things are going fine for them until the paparazzi are at the fire station she works at. As she walks into the station, someone asks her "Have you worked with Kyle Bryce?" At first, she is hurt because he didn't trust her enough to tell her the truth, and then she gets mad. Isla, her best friend and another female firefighter at the station comes up to her and asks "How are you doing?" Grace tells her that he lied to her and she is upset about it. Isla said that maybe he has a reason for why he didn't tell her. Grace said that she didn't want to hear his explanations. There were no explanations to lie to someone. Someone comes to tell Grace that she has a call in the Chief's office. When she gets to the phone and said hello, it's Jack. "Grace, it's Jack, you're not picking up your phone. I was worried. She wants to hear what lie he will come up with. He tells her that he owes her an explanation and he is sorry that she found out this way before he had a chance to tell her himself. She is so mad she tells him "Look, Jack, or whatever name your name is, I'm not interested in an explanation. What I want you to do is get out of my life. I never want to see or hear from you again. She doesn't wait for his reply as she slams the phone down. She doesn't have time to break down as she wants, the bell goes off and dispatch comes through the speaker with a call. Jack (Kyle) is at his home and feels like he is under siege. He wants to talk to Grace but she won't answer his calls. He has just found her and he is not going to lose her. Everyone wants him to make a statement to the press about why he was working at the fire station. He is told that if he does then things will die down. He decides to do the interview and hopefully, things die down afterward. Greg comes over to see Kyle and sees the painting that he got from Grace. He goes crazy over and wants to know who did it. Kyle tells him that it was Grace. Greg wants to know if she has any more worked and Kyle tells him that she does. Greg tells him that he would be willing to set up a solo show for her if she was interested. Kyle goes to see Grace and tell her about Greg's offer. When he is there, she acts like she doesn't want him there. He explains on why he didn't tell her who he was in the beginning. He also tells her about his parents and what they do all the time. He tells her he is sorry and asks if she can forgive him. She tells him that she already had as long as he never did it again. Things are going well for them until the paparazzi find out where she lives and camp out in front of her building. Sabastian, his agent calls him and tells him that he needs to leave and a car would be out front waiting on him. After this, Kyle is worried about Grace and he wants her to move in with him until things die down. He tells her that she can work on her paintings in one of his spare rooms. She tells him she would think about it. When the paparazzi find out about her background and who her parents were, she decides to take Kyle up on his offer. She is hurt by the things the tabloids are saying about her and Kyle is there to tell her to forget it. Something is found out about her adoptive parents and she didn't tell Kyle about it and now Sabastine brings it up and it caused doubt in Kyle's mind about Grace. When he asks about it, Grace is hurt and tells him that she will get her things and leave. She would have someone to come and get her paintings and walks away from him.
Will Grace and Kyle work things out over this misunderstanding?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Pleasant read -spoilers

This was a pleasant read I would recommend but likely wouldn’t read again.

Heroine had a rough childhood being daughter of neglectful, Uber famous musicians and hates fame. But they fall for each other when he’s in persona learning firefighting and she forgives him easily. Couple has to deal with her being bullied by the press, his parents trying to exploit him and then doing it yet again, her insecurity, conniving co-star, and ultimate break then back together. I thought it odd that she was a dedicated firefighter but then takes leave while paparazzi are crazy then never mentions it agin. She moves in with him pretty quickly and paints all day, has raw talent, and thru his connections gets a successful solo show. They miss each other enough that they kinda just see each other, sorry, and ok things are fine. But, at least we all did go through the plummet when they were separated and didn’t get back together in 24 hrs.
Sex was enjoyable but I was so stressed about work while reading this that I didn’t enjoy-enjoy them. There were a ton of them and a little bit of oral, one scene for him too at least, but they got a bit more repetitive Bc they didn’t get kinky, it was just a lot of sex. There was plenty of story though in the meantime Bc scenes were hot but on the shorter side. I would say 7.6/10 on sexometer if you like kink 8.7/10 if you don’t.
I didn’t disbelieve their quick romance, having experienced love that fast once, but heroine, the cautious miss with only one best friend she trusts, basically made a 180 jumping in that fast. Circumstances helped to explain it.
Writing wasn’t especially complex or insightful, but it also was free flowing enough that this wasn’t one of those KU romances you think must’ve been written by a bot.
Like I said overall liked the story, but likely wouldn’t read again Bc the actor famous person trope isn’t my main jam.

The chemistry between Jack/Kyle and Grace goes from fiery to nuclear in the blink of an eye! My goodness these two know how to heat up the sheets! Instant lust soon becomes something deeper, something neither of them expected. At first glance, they seem like the most unlikely couple. A wealthy incognito movie star and a hardworking firefighter/artist….what could they possibly have in common? Yet they do have more in common than one would think and they are a perfect complement to each other. Both Kyle and Grace had nightmare parents, parents that should never have had kids. His parents used him as a meal ticket and sold his private life to feed their greed. Her parents were so obsessed with each other, drugs and alcohol that they forget she existed and left her neglected and unloved. They both carry the pain of their parental nightmares deep in their souls, but have found ways to move forward without closing off their hearts forever. Of course starting off a relationship with a massive deception almost destroys it before it begins to flourish. Grace forgives Kyle for his deception, but can she live in the limelight with him, always under scrutiny and have her painful past dragged out again? Can he trust her after so many others have betrayed him? Read this captivating and addictive book to discover how their relationship plays out, the ups the downs, the mistakes, the uncertainties and the love.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Grace Hughes & Jack Acker/Kyle Bryce. When this book opens we find that Jack has come to same fire station that Grace works at. She is told by her chief that he will be shadowing her during his apprentice time. Grace can't believe how attracted she is to a man with just one look. She knows they are work colleagues but she kinda wants more. When he asks her out for drinks she can't believe her luck. The more time she spends with Jack she wonders who he really is to be able to afford all the things he has. Jack/Kyle is studding for a role he is going to play in an upcoming movie. He has always shadowed professions in the field to learn more before going after the role. The one though has him wondering if he has stepped to far. With one look he knew he wanted Grace. The first time they are together though his whole world feels like it shifted. Can these two get a HEA or will pains from the past make that impossible?

Another amazing story by this author. It has so many twists and turns I want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Scorching story with really wonderful characters
One Hot Secret by Sarah J. Brooks is my favorite book and her best writing so far! I love Kyle (Jack) and Grace, really wonderful characters and couple. Kyle pretty much ticks all the romance boxes - alpha, sexy, charming, confident, sweet, a big heart, kind and with a swagger that will make you swoon. Grace is sweet, down to earth, kind, warm hearted, sexy, talented and possesses a confidence of her own making. I love that these two do not get caught up in the trappings of the media and warm heartedly , sexy, talented and possesses a confidence of her own making. I love that these two do not get caught up in the trappings of the media tabloids, work through difficulties as the happen.
The plot is very interesting as their story takes place in Hollywood, which would test the most stable of relationships on a good day. Grace’s history and Kyle’s prominence in the media makes their journey fraught with tension and some emotional moments of worry. I adore that these characters rely on one another for the most part.
Overall, this book was a wonderful read with great characters, an interesting setting and a fantastic HEA.

Grace is a firefighter and she is given the job of having a new recruit shadow her, but she does not know that Jack, aka Kyle is a high-profile movie star and he is researching firefighting for his new movie blockbuster. The attraction to each other is like a combustible burn and they both fan the flames. But what Kyle does not know about Grace is that she does not like to be in the limelight because of her past. Kyle has his own secrets and can the two of them survive a relationship with so many secrets and the people who want to expose them.

This book was a hot flame from the very beginning and the chemistry between Kyle and Grace was instant. I liked that they had instant attraction, you knew there was more to each of these characters as the book took shape. Kyle and Grace both had secrets and how when they came out would they deal with them and could they survive their pasts. Sarah did a good job of this as the book could have flamed out, but the back stories on both of these characters gave the story it’s depth.

As for the HOT factor of this story, it was a Five Alarm for sure. It was also very romantic, and filled with love, secrets and lies and of course wonderful chemistry, and she gives her readers a wonderful HEA.

Grace gets a hot new trainee. Jack/Kyle is researching a movie roll. It is instant lust at first sight for both. Their chemistry is off the charts and Kyle likes that Grace has no idea who he is. Grace is hiding her own secret past. Kyle is constant betrayed by those he loves that should be looking out for him. Grace and Kyle's relationship moves pretty fast. One thing that he does is introduce Grace and her paintings to a friend who owns an art gallery. The gallery owner is impressed with her talent and schedules her own show. In the meant time it is leaked who Jack/Kyle is and that puts a stop to his ride alongs but not hot times with Grace. The public and paparazzi continuously dis Grace. Kyle is having none of it. Near the end Kyle thinks that Grace betrays him but it is someone else close to him. This is a super hot read. Both main characters had things they were hiding. You will enjoy this one thoroughly.

Two Lost Souls Finding Their Way -
Greg and Grace both had scars from their childhoods and found it difficult to trust people, which made them inadvertently gravitate towards each other as they were kindred spirits. In addition, the chemistry was instant and the fire between them burned bright. Unfortunately, their relationship was constantly plagued with obstacles which they usually overcame. However, the final straw that broke the camel’s back, was a case of misunderstanding and mistrust, which nearly cost them their happily ever after.

I felt like I had just gone through a spin cycle in the washing machine with the different emotions I went through whilst reading this book. I actually stayed up all night to finish this book, as it was really difficult to stop reading once I started. All I can say is thank you to Sarah J. Brooks, for sharing your talent with the world, because I truly enjoyed reading this amazing book.

A firefighting actor and lover! This is about Jack/Kyle and Grace. She was brought up by her adoptive parents which were her aunt and uncle, but she calls them what they really are “mom and dad”. She meets Jack, as her chief at the fire station sets him up with her considering him a rookie. Unknown to her that he is an actor but to due to an accident, his facial features changed dramatically, and she has sworn to not be in the limelight as her parents were when she was younger.

Of course, his secret gets revealed and Grace realizes that he lied to her and now a lot makes sense, but will she forgive him as he truly is crazy for her. Can Kyle make sure that the vultures of the paparazzi stay away from her if she does forgive him? What about her parents – could they accept this or not? Will this strain her relationship with them or Kyle? Oh, so many questions in which are all answered in the book – it is a great read!

I really liked that this book about a movie star was a good different. Grace is paired with Jack to teach him the ropes at the fire station. I felt bad that Grace had no idea that Jack was really Kyle who was a famous movie star. I really hated how she found out. You never know how people will act when they find out the other was not completely truthful with them. I was glad the two decided to still see each other privately. Grace does not like the press or having her life talked about all over. Grace did not have a good childhood and had some famous parents before she was adopted by a wonderful couple. To say that it was hard with the paparazzi getting false news from various people and splashing it all over. I couldn’t believe Kyle’s parents and how they used him for money. There are a lot of ups and downs and bedroom scenes in the book. I enjoyed the love story and encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Grace and Jack's Story . . .

A man named Jack is assigned to Grace at the fire station where she will bring him up to speed on what they do. This will be for a 3-week period. But Jack and Grace seem to be immediately attracted to each other. Each of them have their own secrets to keep, but they won’t be able to keep them for long. With Jack being an actor researching a role, the media jumps into every aspect of Grace’s life, disrupting her life and revealing things she did not want brought out for public scrutiny. Yet she is furious with Jack when she finds out who he really is. Can they work this out? Or is shutting him out of her life for not being honest with her?

This was a good story line with likable characters. There were many other things going on in this one, such as Grace’s art, but the main focus was on secrets and privacy. Grab your copy and see if these two will get back together.

And Grace was an absolutely amazing heroine, I loved her fire and her passion. And the sexual tension was so incredibly obvious, even from the very beginning of the novel. I would highly recommend this book to any steamy romance lover!!!

ONE HOT SECRET A Second Chance Romance (Love on Fire)by Sarah J Brooks
I very much enjoyed this well written story of Jack (Kyle) and Grace. They meet when he shows up for training at the fire station she works at. She is to train him. The chemistry and attraction between the two of them is palpable and about knocks both of them off their feet. Jack is very closed mouthed about his past, where he’s from and who he is. They get close quickly and everything is great until she finds out he is not who she thought he was. Then she has to decide if she can keep going in the relationship. Both of these characters are entirely likable. This is a 5 star read.

This is one hot story with many hot secrets.
A great detailed story carries the plot through many twists and turns.
Grace has a troubled past, a childhood plastered over the papers and parents to forget. Now all she wants is a quiet life out of any limelight.
Then along comes Jack. Working together the attraction builds into they can no longer resist. Then the truth about Jack comes to light.
Can Grace trust Jack and live in his world.
A story I thoroughly enjoyed, the character are beautifully detailed with depth and feeling.
I could not put this book down and highly recommend it.

Grace and Jack?

Jack is shadowing Grace during his apprenticeship but there’s so much more to Jack than Grace sees. Not only is he way “more” than she expected, she’s surprised at her attraction to him, he’s hiding things. Both have been hurt and have build defenses but together they are just “right” and are willing to take a chance. They’ll face love and hurt and secrets and it turns out that Jack is Kyle, Grace will have to adjust to a new way of life. Excellent characters that have real chemistry and are willing to face reality and work through their problems. The romance never falters and the characters are perfect for each other. Very satisfying.

I read an ARC and it felt like a work in progress. I expect some typos and a few things that need cleaning up when I read ARCs; however, this went beyond that. Some names changed throughout the book and there were other continuity issues. The firefighter aspect seemed like a gimmick and lacked enough detail to be convincing. The first few chapters seemed rushed and did a poor job of establishing the characters, which meant I didn't connect with them. A lot of unnecessary drama was introduced in the last few chapters of the book.

Secrets are big in this story and the need for privacy is too. Jack/Kyle wants to learn to be a firefighter, then he meets Grace and the sparks fly. But when the secrets come out and someone spills the story distrust happens and Grace and Kyle may not get a chance at love. This was a fun story I was surprised to see who sells Kyle story but was happy there is a HEA. Love the ending! I would recommend this book.

Jack/Kyle is going to star in a movie about firefighters. Grace is a firefighter and when her Chief calls her in he tells her that an apprentice will be shadowing her for the next three weeks. There is an instant attraction, drama, romance, trust issues, passion, and steamy love. What I liked about this whole thing is that they work together to right the wrongs, betrayals, and obstacles. Liked the characters and the storyline was well written. Plenty of drama, surprises, twists and romance to keep you from putting the book down. Great ending.

Started reading this while I had just watched as episode of 911 when the firemen were being shot at, it was freaky.

What an expected but interesting turn of events or rather a big reveal that will have you all excited but at the same time Kyle gets to know what his mother is truly like.

Grace is at the top of her game as a firefighter, when Kyle/ Jake it is her job to show him around. Their is a instant connection between them, but he is keeping something from her. When Jack gets assigned to Grace at the local fire station he never imagined they would end out falling for each other. But when secrets are revealed will there be forgiveness or will they go their separate ways. One Hot Secret is a steamy romance with believable characters and a great storyline. I loved the way the author brought Jack and Grace together and I was cheering for them to get a happily ever after. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Kyle is a movie star studying for a role as a firefighter. Grace is the firefighter assigned to show him around. From the moment they meet they have a steamy off the charts attraction to each other. They have both been hurt in the past and have to overcome their fears before they can see the happy future they can have together.
