This is the first book in the Love of A Good Woman Series.
"I just finished Jack, and I have to say I am hooked! This has to be some of the most realistic writing I have ever come across. I mean, it's relatable and has a full spectrum of emotions. Page-turning, Kindle-burning awesome read!"- Amazon reader

Jack When I saw her on the side of the road, I knew that something was different about her. I was attracted to her more than I had been to any woman before her. Our chemistry was explosive, but then so was her temper. It wasn’t just her beauty that attracted me though. She’s smart and independent, and every time she fights me, I want to fight even harder to keep her. I’m just your average guy, trying to figure out the mind of the woman he loves.

Harper He’s smoking hot and if I wasn’t so accident-prone around him, I might be able to show him that I’m an intelligent woman that can take care of myself. I want Jack more than anything, but my heart just doesn’t want to trust that this will all work out. And when things start to go south, I’m not sure we’ll be able to survive. Especially once he learns my secret.

Awesome and Super sexy!

Terrific book. Romantic and hilariously funny. I enjoyed all the characters and it was realistic too. I especially enjoyed the friendship between Harper and Drew. I know that people often say men and women can’t be friends like that unless the man is gay, but I have had a guy friend like that. I just wish I could get a guy like Jack.

Maybe I could go over and lick his neck. Just a little nibble. I bet his skin tastes salty. I could run my tongue up his neck and then nibble on his earlobe.... I was snapped out of my fantasy when he laughed and I could swear a blush was creeping up his neck. “Do you always say what you’re thinking? Because what you’re suggesting sounds pretty good to me.”

One thing I really love in romance novels is the first meeting between the two main characters, and that meeting in this book and really the whole time between when they first meet and they go their separate ways after that first meeting is completely awesome. It is hilarious and completely sexy. I loved it. That alone was worth reading this book.

I’m doomed. Someone please pick a random book for me. The cover should’ve warned me off… it’s just fugly, but….

I started reading this because it was recommended to understand Reed Security, which I was interested in reading.

Chapter One is all it took. FMC breaks down. Stranger stops to help. These two haven’t said two full sentences to each other…. Not counting that she somehow manages to say all the shit aloud that she’s thinking about licking, sucking, and screwing him…. Before she’s straddled him ready to just screw a stranger five minutes into meeting him. Mmmkay. I thought this was romantic comedy, not erotic fantasy.

Anyway…

Sex shit aside, he’s just pulled up to help her, and they’re sitting in his truck. He’s offered to call his buddy to take care of her car while he takes her to do her errands. This woman tells this man to get out in the rain to get her purse and lock her car. Mmkay, diva bitch much?

All this prompts me to do something I rarely do… read other reviews before moving forward in the book. We aren’t off to a good start, and, with about 10 flops in a row, I really don’t want to waste time starting something that’s a clear DNF in the future.

In reading the reviews, I find out the MCs have a long separation where she has sex with another man and has life-altering consequences from it. <<<< That shit is a deal breaker for me, which prompts me to read the Reed Security reviews. I find out from reviewers that the author pulls the same OW/OM shit in that series, too.

All of the above as a note to myself….

This author isn’t safe. This author isn’t for me.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK or decent reads
========================

The story was great until they broke up and she traveled to visit her dad... then it went downhill. And her friendship with a guy and the two of them sleeping in the same bed... WTF! What a shame! I had a good laugh with the conversations and problems they got into.

This book lured me with entertaining first 50 pages, it shocked me with the break-up midway. But that excited me: MMC doesn't want kids while FMC does. So they decide to amicably break-up after 5 months of dating because: why prolong the inevitable heartbreak?

Then the author chose every thing I 100% hated to proceed. FMC finding a traveling heart-broken man who wanted to settle down somewhere. She invites him to live with her.
They cuddle, laugh together, dance, and sleep in the same bed. While there is no sex why does she have that moral support while MMC is drinking his sorrows away and being 100% faithful and hang-up on her?

Every time MMC wants to be civil with her, she cries and runs away saying that she's not ready to speak to him yet. Although they have like 10 common friends!!!

MMC finally comes around he decides that the 6 month of break-up were hell and he'd rather give the FMC kids and be with her than not. He had a change of heart and wanted to tell FMC about it. But she did not want to listen and traveled to England visiting her dad.

She proceeded to have a one night stand in England where the sex was "really good" but she cried afterwards so the man leaved her and basically she does not know his identity.

She comes back and MMC pleads his case and the FMC is like "let me think about it".
Weeks later she finds out she's pregnant and once again MMC has to concede and told FMC: I'll love that child as my own.

FUCK THIS SHIT! IT'S NOT ROMANTIC!

The first book of “For the love of a good woman” Giulia, new author for me and I am very keen to go into her world.
The story itself was funny at some points but I wouldn’t call it a light-hearted romantic comedy. Some of the more outlandish situations were hilarious, but the sad moments and twists were a bit to heavier than I expected.
I really like the meet-cute at the side of the road, where the connexion is clear from the beginning. It’s a case of insta-lust and the hot scenes are scorching hot not suited for reading while commuting LOL. I have very mixed feelings about this book because I like the sweet and the funny and Jack how was a protective, sexy, alpha; and love and support Jack friends showed during the story was cool. I want to read their stories. I didn’t like the sad, I like Harper the first half of the book, but some of the decisions she took put me off. I think if some of the scenes were a bit more developed I would have been able to justify her actions and therefore like her better.
This book was definitely a rollercoaster with a HEA! I like the concept of a series having different sub-genders in each book.

ARC kindly provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review.

This did not work for me at all. This is the first time that the GR ratings led me astray and the Amazon ratings were closer to what I felt was reality. I'm glad this was available via KU. I may still check out the next book since this was the first book for a new author to me.

The couple: Jack and Harper

Romance genre: contemporary
Series: For The Love Of A Good Woman
Length: 335 pages

Grovel: eh, a little? He says lots of mean things throughout the first half of the book and is always having to apologize. His apologies are always barely adequate, but he does a good job of doing nice things for the heroine to show her he cares, so there's that.

Plot: Jack meets Harper one day as he's driving past her broken down car and the woman herself, stuck in a hole in the road. Harper is a bit of a disaster and every step she takes proves that. But Jack and Harper both are drawn to each other, passionately, and they start a relationship. Harper is a little more reluctant to go fully in on it though. This push and pull will carry on for quite a while until they find the one thing they can't agree on, which is the one thing that tears them apart. How will they live without each other?

Commentary: I have always seen this author's books noted as rom-coms and I started with this one rather than the Reed security series so that everything would be in order. I wonder if I made a mistake. This was kinda funny, but the funny parts mostly hinged on Harper's physical disasters are her getting mad at Jack. So in the end, not too funny at all. I thought that their relationship conversations were fairly realistic, but I don't know if I wanted a breakdown of a realistic relationship - I have one of those myself already. They probably would have been happy, and then . When Jack finally decided that he could deal with Harper's side of the issue, it became a sort-of moot point - . I don't know. The ending didn't feel rushed, but it did feel sudden, if that makes any sense. I wasn't sold on the character development. (And none of this even touches on how big of a jerk Jack was in the first half of the story, how he couldn't control the mean things that came out of his mouth)

Next book in the series: Cole

This is the first book of the series, "For The Love Of A Good Woman" and I'm going to be honest, this is the first book I've ever read from this author but when I started reading this story, I liked the flow of it. I will admit that there were twists that I didn't expect and some I didn't like that happened but at the end everything works out and Jack and Harper against all odds, get their happy ending :) Next up is... Cole! I can't wait to read his story next and hopefully he'll get his woman back!? We shall see!

Floved this story

This was such a good story I devoured it!! Couldn't wait to bump the corner of my kindle to see what happened next!! These two were hot together from their first meeting to the last. And poor Harper was so accident prone it was hilariously funny. The laugh out loud moments was the icing on top.
Thanks to a book friend Sarah G. For the recommendation.
I highly recommend this book.

Can I give negative stars please?!?!?! I tried to finish this book! I literally said out loud multiple times how fecking stupid these two characters and storyline was! I almost gave up so many times but I hate to DNF books. Well I am at 71% and I honestly didn't think it could get more ridiculous... And I was wrong! WTF?!? She's devastated over the break up but literally runs into a stranger hiding from said ex and he helps her so hay, why not ask him to move in with you the same day!!! Because she's a good judge of character and they both could use a friend, can I say one more time you just met this man how do you now anything about him yet?!?!? I feel this needs another WTF moment!! If a ridiculous storyline & characters don't bother you than read on my friends! However if you like to escape into your books, feel like the characters could be your family/ friends, fall in love and have book boyfriends than avoid this book you will not get any of those things with this book!
The Only good thing I can say about this book is its free with K. U. But your time isn't free so choose wisely!

Title: Jack (For The Love Of A Good Woman #1)
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

If you’re after a romantic comedy filled with some funny lighthearted banter and some seriously scorching sex scenes then I highly recommend this one. Jack and Harper meet on the side of the road and from that moment onwards the fun and games really begin, he’s one sexy, hot alpha and she’s a feisty woman who loves to write romance books with a tendency to spew out verbal diarrhoea especially around Jack.

You won’t be disappointed with this feel good romantic comedy, Ms Lagomarsino is a new author to me and I have to say she’s left her mark, I look forward to seeing what’s in-store next.

I only read this because I started the Reed Security series and was feeling lost. It says Romantic Comedy in the title on Kindle, so I assumed it would be pretty funny; it was not. There were some funny parts, don't get me wrong, but most of it was just the main character sleeping/napping or the two main characters having sex. She was sleeping so much and not feeling well i was for sure she was pregnant, especially since it mentioned he didn't want kids. She did get pregnant just not by him and not later in the book.
The whole book was just ok. I read it to get through it, I'm not sure I'll continue with the series or it'll just be something I come back to. I'm not trying to be mean, I know how hard it is to write a book. This one just wasn't for me.

Terrible plot.

The book starts out great with girl meets boy. They fall in love and all is well. Except it isn’t. I can’t explain too much as I would be giving out spoilers. Let me just say the author went in a totally different direction from the first part of the book making me dislike both main characters. I had ordered the second and third book in the series but am returning them. Thank goodness they were free.

When I had the chance to know this author I thought to myself if it was wise to do so. I mean, I'm so swamped with books right now that I couldn't maintain calm but the need to know her was so strong that I said fuc... it. Lol
Giulia Lagomarsino is a new author to me and let's just say that I'm hooked and intrigued.
Her writing is simple yet powerful, super engaging and detailed. Just see for yourself.
Jack is her latest release and it's the first book from the For The Love Of A Good Woman series.
This book explores the lifes of Jack and Harper.
Jack couldn't imagine the turn his life was about to get the moment he helped a stranger.
Harper's car broke down while she was driving to get friends house and guess what? She didn't had her phone so she couldn't call for help. But...
OMG... I can't stop smiling. This book rocks...
Great plot, well written, engaging and freaking hot.
Reading it was a pleasure and it went smoothly like I love. There were parts of the story that I laughed so hard that made me cry but there were others that I wanted to get into the book and slap someone... Jeez... These two share a great chemistry but are super stubborn.
The hot scenes were just that... Hot and intense.
This book give us love, friendship, comedy but also distrust, fear and doubts.
It's was the book I was waiting for to lighten up my mood.
I loved it Giulia and I can't wait for the next one.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is the 1st book in a new series from this talented author. Jack and Harper are hilarious together, and their chemistry is explosive. This is a well written fun story, which had me hooked and intrigued throughout, especially with all of the laugh-out-loud moments throughout. I look forward to reading Cole’s story next, and I highly recommend this authors’ work for all romantic comedy lovers!

I loved this book. The witty banter between Harper and Jack, and to see their love blossom despite their original downfall, was beautiful to witness across the pages. How their friends help them realise their way back to eachother. Harpers platonic relationship with her new roomie. Also, as a mum, I had to laugh so loud at the *poop explosion* I nearly dropped my kindle 🤣

Our Rating:

I’ve been reading a lot of alpha male, security/black ops kind of books lately, and I was starting to miss more easy-going stories that could make me laugh. Plus, the author’s got another series about a security group, so I figured if this one was any good, I could dive into that series next. So I grabbed this one from Kindle Unlimited and actually set aside another book I was reading to get started on Jack.

But contrary to the positive reviews that led me to it, Jack by Giulia Lagomarsino is really kind of a bad read. I very quickly found myself irritated with the Harper, a little sketched out by Jack, and constantly distracted by the distinct lack of decent editing. And it wasn’t just the obvious problems with very basic punctuation; an experienced editor is desperately needed to fix issues some awkward issues with the development and flow of the story. That’s not to say the story idea is utter rubbish; the premise was actually pretty great. But it reads more like an incredibly rough draft than a romance novel, and it seems to have been published without any of the standard line, copy, and developmental editing that would normally precede going to print. I would imagine someone was involved in helping prepare the book, but my guess is that any “editor” in the picture wasn’t someone who’s got any professional experience at it.

Enough of that, I suppose. Ultimately, I just couldn’t force myself to keep reading this book. As much as I liked the idea of Jack and Harper’s story, actually reading it was a pretty big disappointment — even more so now that I won’t be checking out the other series. I’d be very interested in seeing what Lagomarsino could do with a real editing team behind her, but for now, I think I need to find a different indie author to feed my book addiction.

Although this was described as a romantic comedy, I didn’t find this story very funny. For me, it was only mildly amusing with very few laugh out loud moments. I also found the story somewhat drawn out. Harper’s crazy incidents were fine at first, but soon became a runaway train of excessiveness. While the characters were well-defined, I couldn’t get invested in either the H or h. I found Jack to be overbearing, demanding and quick to anger. So much so that I’m surprised that Harper stuck with him. I have to say that I liked her character better before she hooked up with Jack. It was difficult at times to believe they were both adults. I liked the supporting cast of characters though. Jack’s friends were stand up guys and I found their interactions to be realistic. There was plenty of drama, lots of angst, and several very steamy scenes.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed reading the first half of this book about Jack and Harper. The way they met and Harper unwittingly vocalizing her inner thoughts created for some hilarious moments that had me chuckling. She also had a tendency to get herself into situations that were funny. Jack and Harper had great chemistry right from the beginning and their sex live was super hot. I really enjoyed their interactions with Jack’s friends and how they tried to help this couple when they encountered issues in their relationship. The second half of the book was a bit angsty for me and the some of Harper’s actions just did not sit well with me considering how much she loved Jack; they just seemed so out of character for her and I did not like it. Jack and Harper did get their HEA but I had a bit of a problem on how they got there. Overall, I did enjoy this book by author Giulia Lagomarsino and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

And this is where my love for this authors writing all started. I happened by her books by chance and have not regretted a single book and let me tell you they just keep getting better. I have laughed and cried my way through all series she has written not pausing long enough to write reviews until now. I suggest you don't delay any longer an get to reading. I also suggest you read them in reading order as they all intertwine. Strong Alpha men who find their matches, their other halves. They are fierce in their love and will stop at nothing to protect those who are theirs and their families.

Happy reading!

Can Jack rescue me too? Jack is a romantic comedy that drew me in from the very beginning. This story is a stand-alone in a series and it is the first book in that series. Jack specifically has humor, romance, awkwardness, and a feisty heroine. If you like all this, plus some heat in your book, then this is the book for you.
I liked the plot of this book. I mean who doesn’t love a sexy man coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress? It is classic fairytale material. I think the author did a good job with this plot. I will say that this book is a little bit like Insta-love. If you don’t like those books, maybe this isnt for you. With that being said, I love me a good insta-love story so this was good for me.
Harper is a bit of a mess. I love how clutzy she is. Some people might find it unbelievable, but honestly, I know someone who is like her. If it can go wrong, it will. I loved that she stuck up for herself and wanted to be independent. Then you have Jack. He could be a bit of a brute at times, but he was still loveable. I liked how he had his own journey to go through before he made it to the end.
The heat in this book is good. Jack and Harper have chemistry instantly. You can tell that they are attracted to each other. I do think that the heat moved a little fast for me personally, but it was written well. It was enough to heat up the pages. For that, I can’t complain.
The writing style of this book was good. The pace of the book was steady for the most past, but I felt like the book seemed to drag on at times. I liked the book, but I felt the author could be too wordy and explain things too much. With that being said, it was a great book. I liked the minor characters as well as the main.
Overall, I liked this book. Jack is an endearing character. I wouldn’t mind letting him boss me around and take care of me. Even if he can be an idiot sometimes. This is the first book in the series and I am excited to see what happens with the rest of the gang. I would recommend this book to others.

These two frustrated me!

So, one minute Jack is a giant jerk and the next he's a unicorn -you know, sooo good he only exists in fiction. I read "Cole" and loved it, so I thought I'd start at the beginning of the series with "Jack"
So, Harper and Jack meet and they hit it off. I mean, they really, really hit it off. They were funny, frustating, and most definitely hot together. I was enjoying the first part of the book. Then it got bogged down in their day to day lives together, then it went off the rails. Jack makes a stupid decision, they make more stupid decisions, then Harper has to deal with repercussions from HER stupid decision and Jack turns back into a unicorn. It's really a shame as I was really digging these two in the beginning. If the story were trimmed down a bit, maybe I wouldn't have gotten so impatient with it. I also noticed that when we were in one person's head, the wrong pronoun would be used (he instead of she, etc on several occasions). Stupid editing stuff that was probably more noticeable because I was growing frustrated with the book. Anyway, I'm still gonna read Logan as I already bought it. I would say personally this was more a 3.5 star read, but I rounded up because the first half was really, really enjoyable. They had the insta-lust, lets-go-at-it-like-rabbits thing going on, but there was still a storyline with really good dialogue going on. Fingers crossed that "Logan" starts off strong and keeps going strong.

(4.5 stars)

Harper's car breaks down at one of the worst possible moments, it's pouring rain, no cell phone, and she is in her PJ's. Deciding to take the risk and run the rest of the way, she ends up falling not far from the car and twisting her ankle. When a stranger offers help, at a loss of what to do, Harper of course accepts as she doesn't really have a choice. The sexy stranger that helped her is Jack, and Jack has just decided that his luck is looking up. The two strike off on a whirlwind relationship that has ups and downs like any regular relationship will. But what happens when they both realize that they want different things in life? Will they be able to compromise, or is it better to take their losses and walk away before they get hurt even more?

WOW! So this is my very first read by Giulia Lagomarsino, and this will definitely not be my last! This was a bit different from the norm, you know, the regular boy meets girl, they date, fall in love, get married. This was a very honest take on a relationship, with ups and downs, major drama, super steamy sexy times, and some very funny moments. I really loved Jack and Harper's story, I can't wait for the next story. I give this 4.5 stars.

This is only my second book by Giulia Lagomarsino, and I'm more in love with her talented writing style than ever. Jack was a hilarious story with a big dose of angst on the side. Jack meets Harper when she's sitting in a puddle on the side of the road. He helps her, and her verbal diarrhea is absolutely hilarious which kept me laughing hard from the beginning. They have a very strong connection/attraction for each other, but somehow, even with all the sexy times that destroy things, and light the sheets on fire, Jack keeps messing up. But on the flip side, Harper is a magnet for trouble, and I mean trouble with a capital T, so they are perfect for each other. This journey keeps going on, when I'm hit with some serious twists that I NEVER saw coming, so between being emotional, I had to drop f-bombs as well. They also have this amazing group of friends that make up the cast of secondaries, who added to the laughter that I already had going on throughout. I absolutely LOVED this story, though at times, I wanted to throw my kindle, but luckily, I restrained myself, or I wouldn't know how it all panned out with a HUGE didn't see coming finale! Cannot wait to read more of this series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Poor jack

At first I was shocked I am not new to this author loved reed security series and linked series Owens protection series plus a few others. But after reading the first 7 chapters I realised the link to Cara (Sean's sister is in other series) plus Sebastian sure he is also in another series. But saying that the first 6 chapters was so slow and silly I nearly lost interest like I said shocked. But chapter seven picked up some (paintball, and man in restaurant, so funny) at the end of the read I realised this series must be before the others.(So better yet to come)

I also felt sorry for Jack the storyline was good but went on for months without given to much spoilers it kind of feels like people blame Jack he fell in love but did not want kids so let the love of his life go he loved her enough to not hold her back she did the same wanting kids so left him to. (I'm sure many don't wants kids but fate takes over and they adjust) I did feel his friends was not kind to him. But I found it tragic and poor Jack takes the heat but he stay loyal and I felt bitter sweet at the end.Great writing but a little depressing and for me very slow not this authors best work but still a good read.
