Drew is a new beginnings romance and the fourth book in the series, For The Love Of A Good Woman, and should be read in order.
How do you move on when you lose the love of your life in such a tragic way? Even seven years later, getting over the woman that you planned to spend your life with and have a family with seems impossible. When that person is so ingrained in who you are, is there really any hope of creating a life you can be happy with, let alone finding someone new to love?
Drew When Sarah walked into my life and interrupted my most intimate moments with my dead wife, I cursed her and vowed that I would never like this woman. She was a screwup and possessed something that was so precious to me, but just out of reach. Our paths continued to cross in ways that left me angry and confused, until one day I found myself becoming intrigued with my new neighbor and needing to know what it was that drew me to her. Could I move on from the woman I loved more than anything in this world, or would I find myself unable to let her go when the time came?
Sarah My life went from blissfully wonderful to completely devastating in a matter of hours. No longer able to live the life I once had, I was forced to become someone new. Even the gift that I was given wasn't enough to bring me out of my depressed state. Still, I had no choice but to move forward with my life and make the most of the last and greatest gift I was given. No one would ever be able to know who I am or the secrets I carry. I would forever be another woman who couldn't even properly mourn what had been lost. My new neighbor, Drew, was surly and completely hateful, at least he was with me. For some reason, I set him on edge and made him lash out at me. When we finally fell on someone even ground, would I be able to give him what he needed, or were the secrets I held just too much of a burden to truly move forward?

I was looking forward to Drew’s story when I read about him in Jack’s book. He was such a great friend to Harper and such an ongoing mystery man in the rest of the books so far that I couldn’t wait for his story, but I was pretty disappointed in this. Given that Jack and Harper broke her door having sex the first day they met and Logan and CeCe were getting steamy in the club right off the bat, I was sort of disappointed that this was such a slow burn.
We knew that Drew was getting over a relationship, it turns out that he was married and his wife died of Cancer over 6 years ago. He meets his new neighbor Sarah who is also mysterious and turns out to be pregnant but will not give up details on her situation. So I can see why this would be more of a slow burn. Two people getting over old loves, especially with one pregnant. However, who wants to read a romance where the entire book is two people pining over other people instead of being hot for each other.
The pining, the guilt, the sorrow the lost love. There was only one or two scenes that really showed attraction between these two characters, otherwise they seemed like two good friends that just became comfortable together because they were both lonely. The one love scene basically just said they made love and that was it. So disappointing and not sexy. I struggled through the book till the end and wish I hadn’t. I want to read about Sebastian but now am a bit wary.
It feels like I'm about to explode. It's book, after book, after book. I can't stop, I can't slow down because I'm having a great time reading every single one of them. After the third book from the same author it's to comprehend that I really appreciate her writing and this series is super additive. Giulia Lagomarsino is the author in question and her writing just nailed it. It's raw, wild, free, forbidden and super hot... Have you had the chance to read any of her books? Well if you haven't just give her a chance. Drew it's the fourth book from the For The Love Of A Good Woman. But I need to tell you something, despite all books are standalones you should read them all in order because several events appear in each book as well as the characters. This new book explores the lifes of Drew and Sarah. Drew lost the love of his life a few years back and till this day he feels incomplete. How can he move forward when he has his soul so damaged? The need to get away from the town he was so happy made him move to a new town. When he got into this new town, he was living with a friend that he really cherish and when she found her happy ending he got the push to move to his own house and maybe start living, not surviving like he had been doing. Sarah was trying to rebuilt her life in a new town. It's not easy to do it but she you gave a reason to fight for it you do whatever it takes. After so much that had happened to her she needed a clean start but when her rude neighbor crosses her path... OK... Do here's the thing... I'm doomed... Doomed I tell you. This series is getting better and hotter and I can't wait to start the next one. The plot is well written, super engaging and addictive, full of danger love and hotness. The interation between the characters had a bad start but during the course of the book it developed into a new thing. How can two broken hearts heal each other? How can someone who refuses to move on do it willingly? There were parts of the story that I wanted to get into it and slap someone but there were others that I wanted to hold them. So much pain but at the same time do much joy. This story proved that love can indeed conquer all. Fantastic book Giulia and I can't wait to start the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Okay I have to admit I liked Drew a hell of a lot more than I did Logan. I was ready to throw in the towel with this series, but I hesitated , and while this one I liked more that is not in any way me saying that I liked the book a lot, because that is far from the truth. After reading this one, I can say that it is that I don’t mesh with this author’s style and that saddens me because I see the potential in the series and it is just not clicking for me. I am finding the characters to be one-dimensional, and even when I want to feel something for them I can’t. As always what didn’t work for me, may work for you, form your own opinion.
This is Drew's story we first meet him in Jack's story and now we find out why he is how he is and the torment that had happened in his life, now he meets his new neighbor Sarah and she just irritates him and then we find out what happened to her and the things that she went through. These two need to be with each other because their hearts actually scream out for each other
Title: Drew (For The Love Of A Good Woman #4) Author: Giulia Lagomarsino Genre: Contemporary Romance Rating: 5/5
This was such an emotional swoon worthy read, the main protagonists Drew and Sarah were meant for each other but to be together they had to go through some devastating events. Drew wasn’t exactly the most pleasantest to be around when Sarah first met him but he did redeem himself in the end.
Another brilliant five star read from Ms Lagomarsino, this series just keeps getting better and better I’m loving it, I can’t get enough of these men and the ladies who bring them to their knees.
Keep them coming Ms Lagomarsino I’m ready and waiting to see what’s in-store next.
This is the fourth book of the series and it's Drew and Sarah's story turn to be told... I must say that this book was the most heartfelt story from what I've read of this series so far.
I truly felt both Drew and Sarah's pain, anguish, confusion, hesitations; everything...
Now, the ending was so beautiful so don't worry guys because the series does go on and the next hot alpha hunk of a man is Sebastian ;) Let's see what his story with the independent Maggie will turn into ;)
Heartbreak. Pure Devastation. Drew is a different kind of book. I didn’t expect what I got. This is the fourth book in the For the Love of a Good Woman series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I really suggest you read at least Jack before reading this one. This book made me cry. It truly has some really heart-breaking moments that will crush your heart. I like the plot of this book. As I have said before, each book in this series has its own little plot and feel to it. These books might be interconnected, but they are not the same, which is refreshing. Drew has a secret past. We have known that from book one. What exactly is his secret? This book tells us. Then you have a new character introduced. Sarah. She has her own secrets she is hiding. Will two broken people be able to find solace in each other or are they destined to live out their lives lonely? Drew is such a strong character. I knew I liked him from the very beginning. He has a mysterious air about him, but he also has an underlying sadness seated in his eyes. I liked learning about what makes Drew the man he is. Then you have Sarah. I liked her from the moment we meet her. She is a sweet girl, but it is obvious that there is a lot going on with her as well. I liked seeing her tenacity and resilience. The heat in this book is muted, but it is there. At first, this book does not focus on the heat. This is important because these two characters would never fall into something so quick. It was organic to these characters to be caught up in their own world and miss the underlying attraction that they shared. As they continued, the heat cranks up though. This aspect was exactly what this book needed. The writings style of this book is good. The pace of the book is steady. The story is told from a dual point of view so we are able to know each characters secrets even if they don’t tell each other. I liked the mystery and underlying sense of danger in the book. With that being said, I wish the danger was amped up a bit, but I can see that it was not what this book was about. Overall, this is a good book. I enjoyed reading about Drew the most. There was just this haunting way about him that I had to get to the bottom of. Why was he so sad? I was so happy to get to read his book, even if it did break my heart. I would recommend this book to others. Ratings: Plot: 5/5 Characters: 5/5 Heat: 5/5 Writing Style: 5/5 Overall: 5/5
Drew has been mourning his wife's death for over six years. She was his entire life. They had dreams and were beginning to attain them. One of many was start a family. But during her routine check-up, the doctor found a lump. Sadly, the breast cancer was fast spreading and the love of his life was gone from his life less than six months later. Now, Drew works for his buddies at their construction company. He bought a plot of land, he is still haunted by her ghost. He relishes every night with her.The warm breeze is Iris holding him at sunset. He just wants to hold her a bit longer every night. My new neighbor interrupted by night with Iris. Everything about my neighbor pisses me off...I have no idea why or how she gets under my skin so much.
Sarah's life was perfect. She loves her job and brownstone in Brooklyn. The one thing that she has wanted is finally coming true...she's pregnant. Her husband, Todd takes her out to celebrate, but their night of celebration turns to tragedy and changes everything about her life.
Sarah lives in the middle of nowhere, small po-dunk town--next to the grouchiest and most attractive man she has laid eyes on. He is always mad at her. Yet, he's always there to help her with her car, paint the interior of her house, and even build an addition to her house. No matter how close she becomes to Drew, she can't tell him about her past. If she does, WitSec will relocate them and she will never see Drew or his friends again. Friends that taking her in and becoming her friends too. She is comfortable with them. But Sarah hasn't properly mourned Todd's death. She needs to deal with that and make plans on how to properly take care of her babies. She can't deny there is an overwhelming attraction to Drew. The feelings she has for Drew are almost deeper than how she has ever felt with Todd. But Sarah is confused about that too. She knows that she needs to focus on her mental and emotional well-being before entering a relationship with Drew. Will Drew be willing to wait for her? How long is he willing to wait?
WOW JUST WOW! I had already met Drew in previous books, and boy he never came off as that damaged, so I never saw this story coming at all, and frankly it blew me away completely. Drew was a broken man who has been running from his past for several years, when he met Harper (Jack), and he finally settled in a place. None of his new friends knew the absolute heartbreak that he went through, as he never shared with anyone so it was a surprise to everyone. It took him getting a new neighbor named Sarah, for him to really put the past to rest, although he was a complete douche to her at the beginning. Like I'm talking I wanted to junk punch over & over again, which shocked me because of how he was with Harper, so I was calling him names for the first part of his story. Especially since his new neighbor had her own past that had tried to break her, and he was just horrible to her. And his inner monologue didn't help his case with me either. However, they kept being thrown together, so the hatred started to thaw, which I was glad for, plus, he had friends that called him on his BS as well, because a few had guessed Sarah's secrets. So the angst took a turn into a suspenseful tone, which kept me on the edge of my seat, with twists to flip the switch on the f-bomb dropping. I was turning the pages like crazy to find out Sarah's whole story, on top of being 100% emotionally invested. Of course the secondaries were amazing, as they were people from past/future stories, so they added in a humorous factor, which was a break because I literally felt the pain that both Drew & Sarah were working through. I have to admit that Drew became my favorite in this series to date, and I CANNOT WAIT for more in this awesome series from the extremely talented, and highly addictive Giulia Lagomarsino. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Book four of the For the Love of a Good Woman series, and for some things in this book to make sense: I.E. Harper and Drew's relationship, I do suggest reading the previous books. It will just flow better if you do. We met Drew in Jack and Harper's story, and we knew that something in his past haunted him, we just didn't know what. Now, we are about a year after Jack and Harper's story, and Drew has found his own spot, and doing his own thing. What he isn't happy about is the neighbor on the other side of the driveway. He doesn't have time for a female, and when he finds out she is pregnant that just makes the whole situation worse. Determined to keep his distance, Drew is not very welcoming towards Sarah.
Sarah has a whole slew of problems, and having a mean neighbor isn't one that she needs. But she will just keep on ignoring him and stick to herself. But what happens when Sarah does indeed need the help of a neighbor, or just a friend to listen to the stresses of everyday life? What happens when Drew decides that he needs to be more of a friend to Sarah and stops avoiding her? Will he keep living in the past with the ghost that haunts him? Will Sarah open up and tell the secrets that she keeps?
This was about two broken people, and they overcome the past, the grief and the guilt of moving on. The author once again shows how versatile her writing is, going from book three to this one its really like two different people wrote this. This was a really good read, with some drama, super low on the naughty times (but this is a book that didn't require a lot). I give this 4 stars.
This should have seriously been labeled as a suspense romance novel cause.. I really don’t think I breathed correctly during multiple times in certain parts of this book. When we first met the character of Sarah in this book, I thought that her situation was complicated in terms that she had been a victim of rape and therefore that was why she was raising her child on her own.
What I didn’t expect was that this poor woman was on the run and being protected by the Witness Protection Program because she and her deceased husband had been witnesses to overhearing Italian mob dealings. When I thought of Sarah’s situation, the mob was the farthest thing from my mind when I thought about just why she was always so afraid and unwilling to trust anyone.
Though Drew was definitely kind of a jerk at first I was quick to forgive him after we learned that he too was widowed after his wife died of cancer. ESPECIALLY after I read about how great he was with Sarah’s twin children whom he treated as his own. 😍😭
If any two characters deserved happiness more than anyone after their struggles at such a young age, it is definitely Sarah and Drew. While I haven’t read all of this author’s books in this For the Love of a Good Woman series.. I gotta say, it would take a lot more for me to say that I loved them over Sarah and Drew!
Can’t recommend this slow burn, intrigue romance with a dash of mob issues thrown in.

Beautiful renaissance’s story Very good novel, very well written, with a simple scenario, but exciting all the same because of a slight hint of suspense. The two heroes are not looking for anyone except for time to heal their loss and rebuild themselves. I loved how the development of emotions and their relationship is written. Without permanent sex scenes, the story still manages to maintain a certain tension (maybe because of their losses that blind them both, the heroes can only hate each other for no reason at all in the beginnning.) Drew is mourning for his wife who has deceded for 6 years and Sarah for her husband. She's pregnant for a few weeks. She is his new neighbor, but Drew sees her as an intruder, disruptive and unattractive, that prevents him from moping in the pain of the loss of his wife. Meanwhile, Sarah can not entrust anything because she is a witness under protection after witnessing the murder by the mafia of the police chief of New York and her husband, a collateral victim of the mafia. Although neighbors, they hate each other for no reason, but month after month they discover each other. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I will be honest out of all of Giulias "For the Love of A Good Women" Series, Drew was my least favorite. Maybe because I can't relate to grieving over someone so close, or because it lacked the action all the other books did....I'm not sure. I felt some parts were just repetitive as the explanation of day to day activities was described. Don't get me wrong, I read the entire book, it just took me a little longer because I was not as captivated by the story. Which is probably just because of a personal preference on what I like to read. It wasn't as sexy, or funny as the others. I enjoy reading the spicy sex lives each character has to again just a personal preference.
HOWEVER, it was great to learn about Drew and where he came from and why he hadn't shared anything with his new friends. It was shocking to realize how much of an asshole he could be to Sarah when he was so sweet to Harper. In the end though, I was happy for Cara who really flourished in this book.
This book I was not sure what it was going entail as Drew just kinda appears and slides right in to the fold. When we first meet him in Jack's book he is very closed off, we learn nothing about him but know that this man carries a heavy load. This book is the window to learning more about Drew and the woman he meets and initially can't stand Sarah. Her past is not an easy one either. Both of these characters are broken and this journey of finding a HEA is not an easy one. I have to admit I had both happy and sad tears reading this book. It is an emotional read but well worth the time to sit down and start turning each and every page. All the men in this series have a history with a variety of ghosts as well as the women that snatch them up and love them but I think Drew has taken the cake for me. I cannot wait to see what is in store for these characters as the series moves forward and the remaining single men in the series. Watch out Giulia is going to match up each and every one of you.......:) I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC from BookSprout.
I liked Drew and Sarah’s story. ‘Drew’ read differently than the books so far in the series as there wasn’t any drama and the sex scenes are pretty non-existent but what that does is portray a story reflective of the character’s journeys. Drew and Sarah are both grieving and thus the plot focuses largely on them learning to cope with and move on from their grief whilst battling this attraction they feel for each other. There is a little bit of back and forth concerning them taking that next step but in the end a relationship develops at a natural pace consistent with the individual stages of grief they both find themselves in after establishing a friendship following a rocky start. I liked these two characters together and how in ‘Drew’ we saw a bit more of the secondary characters, those who have already had their own book and those we’re yet to see, that sense of finding a family in a close-knit group was developed more in this book and made the book more enjoyable.
Sarah is in witness protection and her new neighbor is a grumpy hunk. Drew purchased a new home that shares the drive with a small house and his new neighbor is a pregnant woman. He still mourns the wife and child he lost seven years before to cancer and finds the new neighbor Sarah rubs him the wrong way causing him to be nasty whenever he speaks to her. Sarah and her husband Todd were out celebrating the fact she was pregnant when they witness a murder and the gunman turns on them. Todd tells her to run and as she does she looks back to see Todd jump in front of the gun that was aimed at her. She flags down a passing car and goes straight to the police. Now she finds herself alone and pregnant starting a new life surrounded be strangers and with a grumpy neighbor. A romance to relax and enjoy.

Drew has been struggling to live his life instead of just existing since his wife Iris died. It has been seven years and he is finally taking baby steps to moving on to living. Sarah is on the run, pregnant and hiding from the mafia in witness protection. She never asked to be a witness. She didn't want to be a widow with twins on the way and she really did not ask for her neighbor Drew. Insanely attractive but grumpy and mean. How does this odd duo end up friends? Lovers? It is a crazy emotional ride that finds them both moving on with their lives together. Each healing deep emotional wounds for the other. It is inspiring to know that the heart can hold an overflowing of love. I loved this story. Love these related series and I totally love all of these characters.

What an exciting, intriguing and captivating story. Drew and Sara’s story had me hooked from beginning to end. Sara is in the WitSec program after she and her husband witnessed a Mafia hit. Unfortunately her husband was killed trying to protect her and their unborn baby. She is relocated to the same town that Drew lives in and they are neighbors. Drew is still mourning the death of his wife after 6 years and isn’t keen on having a neighbor. Especially an unmarried, pregnant one. He is rude, gruff and is a real asshole to her. This is a must read and highly recommended. Great series and I can’t wait to read all of these stories as they pull in all the secondary characters in each story. I’m hooked!!!!! Awesome and well written storyline and characters that tug at your heart.

Oh my goodness. I just cried so much! This is a story about loss. So much terrible loss. Now I will admit Drew has been my least favorite character. I still stand by the Harper relationship being strange. I shout BS that NO man is OK with his wife having a friend like Drew unless he's very very gay. That being said, his story makes more sense now and I'm no longer shouting " stranger danger". Lol Sarah and Drew end up being neighbors when she is moved next door while she's in the witness protection program. Drew isn't happy about his new neighbor because he struggles daily with the death of his wife from cancer. This story is about processing grief, and figuring out when it's OK to move on. As much as Drew made me uncomfortable in the other books, his story just wrecked me. Lol
Drew has been in mourning for his wife that passed from cancer six years ago. He is very reserved and quiet. That is until his new neighbor Sarah shows up needing a jump for her car. She is in witness protection after witnessing a mob killing of a police chief and her husband being gunned down protecting her and her unborn baby. She has changed her appearance and is also relatively reclusive as well. He is nice to her and then rudely retreats. Very confusing for her until she finds out about his wife. Unfortunately, she is unable to share any information about her life or she will be moved. Well, love seems to always happen and they fight it all the way. Nicely written with some suspense and babies. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book

This is the first book I've read written by Giulia Lagomarsino and even though I came into this series on book 4, DREW, I didn't feel short changed or confused by what was going on. Her storyline flowed perfectly with characters so interwoven in each others lives, you feel the sense of family and community in the telling. This is about two people thrown together by fate. Both hurt and suffering from the death of a spouse they find themselves attracted to each other and not sure how to deal with the secrets and guilt of what they each carry. The plot is laid out and with a few side stories from side characters, this makes for a compelling story you want to finish to end to see what happens. And you don't want to miss where the author takes us. This was a great read.
Drew: A New Beginning - Wow this was just amazing read!
This book was just such amazing read. It was an emotional read but just so sweet and endearing that you feel as if you are right there with Free and Sarah. Drew lost his wife about six years ago and just wasn't his self any more. He was irritable and moody all the time. So when his new neighbor had come over to ask for his help he took her head off. Sarah had her own issues that she was dealing with and would keep in mind to avoid her neighbor in the future. Sarah lost her husband not that long ago and was trying to deal with his loss and her new life without him. When a car accident happens it brings these two together but would it make them hate each other or learn to get along together?
Drew, a man in self isolation traveled around for 5 years after his wife died cutting off all ties until he found a New friend in need while he was still traveling, Harper, after spending some time with her, and he started to put down roots, got a job on the recommendation of Harper and even bought a house. Harper and Drew were very close friends but he never got close to anyone else, he just works and goes home. Six years after his wife died, Sean, who was in the police asked him to keep an eye out for his new neighbor, just to report to him if anything suspicious happened, reluctantly he agreed but didn’t want to get any further involved. Recommend
I received this book for an honest review. This is my fourth book by Giulia Lagomarsino. This was a very good book, I have be wondering about Drew since we first met him, he seemed very mysterious and complex. Upon learning more about his past and getting to know him, I was not disappointed. Even when he was not acting very gentlemanly, you could understand why and you generally felt for him. I loved the connection between the two main characters, even though both of them tried to fight it in the beginning, it was always there! I could not put the book down. This book was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I can't wait to read more from this author!
This is the 4th book in this amazing series, and is Sarah and Drew’s story. This can be read as a standalone, however, in my opinion, this series is better to be read in order. From the previous novels I always knew that Drew had a past that nobody seemed to know about, and what a devastating story it is! Sarah is his new neighbour, and she is also broken and haunted by her past. This is a beautifully written story which is heartbreaking and emotional as well as filled with suspense, danger, mystery, secrets, angst, twists, and love. I was totally captivated throughout, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, and I highly recommend her work for all readers.
Drew is the fourth book in the ftloagw. I actually started reading this book first. I love finding new authors and I'm glad I found this author. Giulia lagomarsino is one awesome author.
Drew is struggling with some demons he is keeping hidden and was in the military. After the lose he suffered I'm heart hurt for him. At times he wasn't nice.
Sarah was a lovely woman who also suffered also she saw her husband be murdered and was pregnant at the time. She moves to a new town and meets drew. He wasnt nice her and I'm glad she was no push over. It was a beautiful book and it was also honest. I highly recommend this book you won't be disappointed.
