DNF at 94%. I tried to finish I really did. I hate, like hate, not finishing a book. And there was so little left. But no. It was such a struggle to read. I’m so sorry to the writer because I’m sure she poured her soul into this.
It was so cringey, like massively over the top cringey. So many characters, different parts of the plot, just all too much. You’d get past one piece of information and then something more was added. It was almost as if the writer was trying to find ways of extending the story so just kept adding more bits.
It’s not even the concept that put me off, it really was the writing.

Ava comes from a very dark and tragic past. One night while trying to infiltrate a poker game, Zane noticed how uncomfortable she is and takes her to his home. Zane is known as the most dangerous and vicious man alive but when it comes to Ava, he will do anything for her.
There is a lot of violence and descriptions of SA, and also a lot of kinks so please check the content warning before you read!
If your not into the instalove trope you will not like this book. Although I can deal with the instalove, it’s the dialogue that k could not get over. I feel like there was too much dialogue and not enough action, at 30% of the book we were still at their first day together and nothing was really happening.
Although there were a lot of side characters, I like the fact that Minnie included a very diverse cast.
I thought best thing about this book was the depiction of a healthy Dom/Sun relationship.
It took me awhile to finish because some of the writing was cringey, I would have another editor look into book 2 because the plot is actually good.

it’s SO worth it!!
So I picked up this book on pre order after seeing it appear loads on my social media. I went into this with no expectations at all, and I was so incredibly surprised at how much I loved this book. I was only 8% in when I knew this book ticked all the boxes for me.
Fast paced moving storyline, no repetitive long winded inner monologues or overly descriptive paragraphs. The story truly focuses on what the selling point is for me, the relationship between the main characters.
I love all the surprises, twists and turns that come along, but all the while the focus is on the relationships. Now if your a reader who’s pet peeves are some grammar and typo errors, then this edition may not be for you. But if your someone who can overlook these to follow an intense, seductive and thrilling plot then grab this NOW!
To sum up I’ve now entered a book hangover while I have to wait until next year for the next instalment!!! FYI massive cliffhanger ending

AMAZING! I fell in love with Zane and Ava’s story immediately! Their connection is one from fairy tales that speak of love at first sight. The darkness from their past gives way to light, healing, and the promise of revenge! Such a thrilling, AND SPICY, telling of the bond between two people. I loved this book and I need book 2 so I can find out if they get the HEA they deserve!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

DNF, the plot and concept are good and very up my ally. However the style didn’t suit my tastes- everything was clearly laid out, with long internal explanations I started to find repetitive,and communicated (even between characters). Very easy to read book that I think a lot of people will like, it’s a my style decision.

much! They are both so strong and amazing! And the scenes between them are so hot. The ending though killed me...i so need the next book. If you haven't read this book yet do your self a favor and start it ASAP!

Not for me. There was literally no build up or plot, as of about 10% in they were thinking they were in love. Might be a good read for someone else as the writing was decent.

This story follows Zane and Ava who meet at a poker night that was disguised as something else. But Zane noticed Ava’s uncomfortable demeanor he takes her away from the game and that’s where the magic begins. Ava comes from a very traumatic past, and she finds refuges in Zane. Zane is an otherwise imposing figure to everyone else but is instantly putty in Ava’s hand. This story is not for the faint of heart. There’s violence, and graphic descriptions of sexual assault. Ava has been through a lot, and Zane does not judge her for it. He is the perfect partner, and dom. He is handsome AND respectful.
The BDSM aspect in this books are carefully explained and detailed. Minnie takes great care in establishing what a dom/sub relationship look like. It may not be for everyone, but it was certainly for me. Zane is more experience in these kind of dynamics and is very gentle with Ava. He makes sure she feels safe, comfortable, and is always aware of her every feeling during their moments together.
I loved this book because the pace and the spice were perfect. Zane and Ava are soulmates, and that connection is so well written!
It was my absolute pleasure to read this book, I can’t wait for the rest of this incredible series!
