Trusted and True is book seven in the Men of Haven series by Rhenna Morgan. I’ve been in love with this series since the very first book and that is where I first met our hero, Danny. He wasn’t a full fledged part of the brotherhood yet back then, a group of men who have become brothers, family by choice. We also met Callie in that book, the younger, troubled sister of the heroine, Vivienne.
Danny Parker is now thirty four years old and is a member of the Haven Brotherhood. He runs a string of three car restoration shops, the one he works in, the original shop in the Dallas area. He loves working on the cars but not so much the administrative part of the business which is a mess. He knows he needs to hire someone to help him out but can’t believe it when a ghost from his past walks in the door wanting the job. He hasn’t seen her in years and the last time he did see her, she was a mess.
Calista “Callie” Moore is an alcoholic and drug addict. She tried so many times to get clean but never made it stick until she hit rock bottom a little over a year ago. She’s been working the program and has been clean and sober ever since. Now it’s time to make amends to the people she hurt the most, her sister and brother in law so she is back in Dallas. But she also needs a job. She didn’t know it was Danny’s shop when she walked in the door. Danny had helped her out a few times when she asked him for help but hadn’t seen him since the last time. He’d never even seen her sober.
Danny doesn’t know if he can trust Callie this time but he can’t seem to turn his back on her. He needs help and she needs a job. But he hadn’t counted on the attraction he felt for her. Danny had never been interested in a relationship before but he can’t seem to stay away from her.

These two didn’t stand a chance at staying away from each other. I adored the way Danny took things slow to do it the right way. But as they are getting to know each other, a face from Callie’s past comes back to haunt them and threatens everything.
I adored watching these two finally get together. I sensed the attraction when they first met in the first book but Callie was such a mess back then. I loved the person she has grown in to and how hard she was working to be a better person. I loved the support system she had for herself as well. I also loved seeing my favorite couples from all of the previous books. This was such a good book. It can definitely be read as a stand alone but you just wouldn’t have the connection to the other characters. I am so thrilled Rhenna came back to this series.

Trusted &True is my first read in Men of Haven series. Do I like it? Not really. I can not really enjoy the writing style. The flow of the story is confusing.
Miss Morgan fails to rattling my emotion while reading this book. Or maybe I have not read the previous books yet.
Overall it is not exactly.bad bit not exactly memorable either.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 7th book in the Men of Haven series. I have not read the other books in this series. I do feel this book can be read as a standalone without any problems. I got to know and care about all the characters. I also had no problems understanding what was going on. I enjoyed seeing this woman coming back for her lowest point in life to build a great life she was proud of. I love the romance in this book, and I also love feeling how much the two main characters care for each other. I do want more suspense throughout this book. All the suspense and action was at the end, and the romance was throughout this book. I enjoyed this book, and I felt it was a great book. I just wanted and was looking for action and suspense throughout this book. I may have to read some of the other books in this series because I really want to read Callie's sister romance. I loved her and her husband's characters. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Carina Press) or author (Rhenna Morgan) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. Another great book in the Men of Haven series! I loved getting Danny and Callies story. It was so good to see Callie turn her life around and become part of the Haven family, not only through her sister Vivian, but also through Danny.
Danny is what I would envision what the guys would have been like when they were young and basically starting out. He's that Alpha male who's very protective, but also with that self doubt you see in someone younger. To have all the guys at his back makes him a lucky guy. I also really liked that his story was with Callie, another person who is starting out in a new life sober and finding her way.
This is one of those series that I hope will never end. I just really like the Haven world and all the men in it that I could easily enjoy many more books to come.

This was high angst, deep emotion and intense steam.
While I’m not a fan of stories that involve recovering from any type of substance abuse, I have to admit that this one was a little easier to read. The ugly, hard core, bottom of the barrel recovery had already been dealt with and Callie was currently dealing with how to live life as a recovering addict, which is even harder but for me, as stated, easier to read.
I didn’t know if I was going to like either one of these characters, but before long, they had both shown traits that I could connect with. Danny ends up being everything I love in a hero and actually more due to his actions and reactions to a recovering Callie. He was definitely there to protect her, even when that meant allowing her to find her own way.
This had a lot of the Haven family, along with plenty of drama and action surrounding Callie. The chemistry between Danny and her was steamy and I loved watching them both deal with it from its first stages to the point where they yielded. Overall, this was a beautiful story and I was so glad to have a chance to jump back into this world again.

First Impressions
Trusted & True is the most recent release of the “Haven Brotherhood” (or also known as Men of Haven) series. I was so pleased to see that this author is back to writing again and picking up this book was like seeing a best friend after years of separation. From the first few pages of this story, I was completely hooked into this one and I knew that this author had not lost her magic and charm and I so gravitated toward our pairing,. It’s been so long since I had this series or this world, and I have missed it so much! I definitely want to do a re-read as soon as I purchase the series in print (and yes I will be doing this soon). Trusted & True is a redemption story and I was completely on board with this trope and the manner in which it was implemented. We also get such fun times with the other men of the brotherhood and I just love such male bonds be so focused and getting back to this world was like coming home. There was so much wit, warmth, and endearing character that satisfied me in every way.
Summary
Callie Moore is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, she has harmed so many but especially her sister and she has been sober for at least a year and she is determined to make sure she lives her life as she was meant to before her addictions. During a AA meeting, she meets someone that leads her to Danny Parker for a job as his office manager. Danny has been the only one other than her sister who has given her chances. She knows it’s a risk coming to him for a job, but Danny is a man that she knows she can trust. Danny is shocked to see Callie, and in a way that he has never seen before, with added healthy weight and a bright light in her eyes that was always dimmed with addiction from before. He doesn’t know if he can give her this chance, as he knows how easily an addict can fall into their old ways. But after discussing it with his men from the brotherhood, he knows he needs to do this. A sweet budding friendship begins between Danny and Callie, which turns slowly into a love that neither of them expects, but isn’t to be wasted. But can their love survive the mistakes of the past and into a bright future of healing and forgiveness?
What I Loved
Trusted & True was such a magnificent read that I fell so hard for, I honestly couldn’t put this one down. I had such a fun time with this read and I was so easily swept away into the story. Its a story that really showcases growth and journey into a story of redemption. Both of these characters I fell so hard for. Danny is such an alpha-mellow of a hero. I just loved how strong and protective he is, but also so understanding and compassionate, and patient with Callie. He never rushes her and is a solid wall of strength and protectiveness. Then we have Callie, who we have seen in past books, and I really liked that we got to see her story. I just adored her story coming to light and how well-focused her journey is that is balanced out with the romance. You see how strong she is and determined to fight her battles. She is creative, intelligent, and kind. She makes such a good match for Danny. I adored seeing them together and the way that they come together in such a heartfelt way. Their romance was so endearing and poignant. I just wanted to indulge in their quiet moments of intimate connection. This is one of my favorite books from this author, because it had my emotions all over and sparkled with so much heart and well-built heat within the story. Also seeing the way that Callie slowly works her way back into her sister’s life and the lives of the Haven Brotherhood was so lovely to see. I felt such a kinship with Callie and it was beautiful seeing her romance blossom with Danny. If you are looking to get into MC romance and want something with all the best aspects of an MC without the toxic elements, you definitely need to pick up this series!!

This one was interesting due to Callie's history. I liked that she seemed to be in a good place at the start, that being on the wagon was really working for her and how she wanted to earn her way back into her sister's life. It was funny how she stumbled upon the job and that small in with her sister. I get why Danny was skeptical at first, he should have been, but I also liked that he saw that Callie was really trying. It helped to that he broached the "family" with what Callie was doing, it gave them all, especially Callie's sister a different perspective.
I hated how things went to crap towards the end for Callie, especially due to where and who was with her. She fought hard to do what she could and in the end earned that redemption she was so looking for. By the end of the book she is in a great place for herself, for her and Danny making things work, for her sister and for the big extended family they all share, something she deserves.

I'm a huge Men of Haven fan and in turn, a big Rhenna Morgan fan. I was so excited to see this book pop up on Netgalley given it's been 3 years since the last MoH book was released.
It pains me to say this, but I wasn't really feeling this book like the previous 6 books. Maybe it was the break between books. Maybe it was the lack of romance. Maybe it was the lack of suspense. Maybe it was the hyper-focus on recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. It just wasn't as intense and engaging as the previous books have been. It's an okay book, but it isn't one I'd say lives up to the high standards the rest of the series has set.
Danny is a custom car shop owner and artist. He's part of the Haven Brotherhood, but I honestly didn't remember him. He's also apparently bailed out Callie, Viv's sister (book 1 heroine), many times in the past when she's gone on an alcohol-drug induced binge that gets her in trouble. Again, not something I really remembered from Book 1 even though Callie played a sizable role in the trouble Viv had in her book. Now Callie is one year sober and is back in town to start a fresh life and rekindle her relationship with her sister. She ends up coming in for a job interview with Danny, not knowing the interview is with the guy who has rescued her way too many times before.
Callie & Danny hit it off. I got the intensity and could see them working as a couple in the long-run. But the author really doesn't give us much romance. There's not even really much sex. I remember one scene about 80% in to the book, but it's definitely not what we've come to expect by the author. We were just missing that connection, not just in the bedroom, but on a deeper level. I appreciated that Danny stood up for Callie when faced with questions from his brothers - I truly felt his feelings for her then. I just wish there had been more dates, more time together that we saw, not just the author telling us they got together to watch TV. It all just happened so quickly that it didn't seem believable that their relationship would change that much in such a short amount of time given their troubled history.
This book focuses on a recovering addict and I honestly think the author spent 80% of the book on that and then the romance and suspense came in as an afterthought. While I appreciate the author giving attention to the subject matter, as it is one of importance, I think it was given too much space on the pages and after a while, I lost interest in the romance (or lack thereof).
The ending was cute and I enjoyed the nice little sweet surprise. I'll give the author credit for that originality, even if I did think it was premature and Callie needed more time to heal and live a somewhat normal life before any big steps were taken in their relationship.

I didn’t know how much I missed this crew until I started reading this baby, which took me a minute to do because book/reading slumps are a biyatch, so I held off and man am I happy I did. I thoroughly enjoyed Danny and Callie’s journey to their HEA as much as I enjoyed hanging out with the Haven crew again, and, as with every book in this series, wish that it didn’t end.
I have to admit that I don’t remember all that much from Jace and Viv’s book because it was 5 years ago that I read it, there have been a good number of books read since, and a re-read just didn’t happen, so my recollection of Callie is non-existent. But even with the few reminders of her “past life” I still adored her. Her determination to better her life and make amends was something I admired and that along with her sass and honesty…it was a potent mix. And speaking of potent. Danny was kind of everything for me. Protective, sweet, not afraid to be honest ~ with himself or others ~ and just a good all around guy.
As for their journey to their HEA. I really enjoyed watching as they got to know each other. There were missteps ~ some big, some small ~ but I like how they worked it all out and learned to trust each other in every way possible and found that they fit quite well together in the end.
This baby had it all for me: an interesting and engaging plot line that unfolded at a good pace and great characters that I loved getting to know and hanging out with. I do hope that this isn’t the last time we get to hang out with this crew or in this world in general, so toes crossed there will be more to come.

I didn’t know how much I missed this crew until I started reading this baby, which took me a minute to do because book/reading slumps are a biyatch, so I held off and man am I happy I did. I thoroughly enjoyed Danny and Callie’s journey to their HEA as much as I enjoyed hanging out with the Haven crew again, and, as with every book in this series, wish that it didn’t end.
I have to admit that I don’t remember all that much from Jace and Viv’s book because it was 5 years ago that I read it, there have been a good number of books read since, and a re-read just didn’t happen, so my recollection of Callie is non-existent. But even with the few reminders of her “past life” I still adored her. This one is all about redemption and the work one must be willing to do in order to get there and beyond. Callie has a history of bad choices and stupid deeds, but she’s doing her best to be better now. And that means she has to face her old demons and fears and hope for some semblance of forgiveness. Or at least a little peace. But who knew she would stumble upon the one guy who bailed her out in the past, hoping for a chance at a new life?
Danny was understandably concerned about Callie. He knew who she once was, and while she appeared to be completely different both inside and out now, he couldn’t help but wonder. And worry. And almost trample on any trust he’d earned from her with his assumptions. But she proved that she’s really changed and that she’s willing to take any knocks she has to in order to move forward. So Danny becomes Callie’s ally and protector when faced with Jace and his anger over the past meeting the present again. But when push comes to shove, who will save the day? The guys, the woman hoping for redemption, or is all lost?
I really enjoyed how this story flowed. Callie didn’t shy away from her past. Or what she needed to face now. And eventually, everyone could either see or trust in her path. This is the 7th book of the series and each one has given us great heroes and strong women who love them. We had met Callie in her past and Danny has come up in the ranks from friend to one of the Brotherhood now. As always, this group of men has chosen their family well and they have each other's backs, no question
Callie has a past that could lead her off the wagon again. I loved her fight and her commitment. I really loved that Danny was willing to give her a chance. Steam and chemistry was melting the pages with these two. Nice slow burn.
Great addition to the series. So happy to have their HEA.

Well, this is so great! I cried, a lot. There is so much in this story. Love, hope, forgiveness and life. Danny and Callie really have huge hurdles to their HEA. Addiction is nasty business. This story does not shy away from these realities.

If you are not already familiar with the Men of Haven, you have missed out on something wonderful!!
I (along with many) anxiously awaited the release of this story, and it was well worth the wait. The main characters in this story debuted in the first book in this series, so this was a circle-back that felt like coming home to these characters .I loved it! Ideally, a reader will have already read "Rough and Tumble" - the first book in the series - but even if that hasn't happened...there's a great deal to enjoy in these pages.
The Men of Haven live by their own rules, and are unapologetic about the way they love and care for their own. One of the things this talented author gives a reader is a sense of belonging in their world. It was quite easy to drop back into the world these characters live in, even after so long. This had all the things I enjoy about this genre:
Drama, loyalties, suspense, steamy chemistry, determined women and their (perfect for them) supportive men.
While I will not spoil this read for you, I will caution a reader. There are a great many sections pertaining to addiction and recovery programs. I fortunately haven't been in a recovery program, and I found the repeated mention of her struggle was a bit much for me. I can imagine it may be difficult for someone who has faced a similar situation in their life to read some parts of this book, and for some, these portions would be very comforting.
This said, I ultimately finished this read with a great appreciation for the depth this author reached, and her ability to carry me along into Callie's struggle and Danny's responses and support for her.
This author's creativity always makes me smile, and she is one of my favorites. I recommend this book and her other offerings. And I do strongly recommend reading her series in the correct reading order to get the most from the characters and stories.

I was so happy to be back in the world of the Men of Haven. This time we get Danny and Callie’s story. When I first realized who Callie was, I felt some trepidation since she had not been much of a sympathetic character at the start of the series. But at the beginning of this story, when we meet Callie again, she has made some drastic changes in her life and is a completely different person. Callie hit her absolute rock bottom about a year ago and now that staying sober seems to be working, she moves back home to begin the process of making amends to those who mean the most to her. By coincidence she runs into Danny again when goes in to his custom build/design garage looking for work.
Danny and Callie’s story is slow burn and I enjoyed watching their relationship progress slowly as they spent time together getting to know each other. There was a lot in this story that can resonate for anyone who has ever made mistakes in their lives and look to make changes and have a second chance. This seemed a little bit of a different change of pace from some of the previous books in the series, but it really worked for me. I'm hoping we have more in the series still to come - I love this world!

This is Men of Haven #7 but can easily be read as a standalone. Once you read this one, though, you’ll probably search out the earlier ones as well. It is that good.
Callie is a recovering alcoholic and junkie trying to start a new life after a year of sobriety. She has come back to Dallas to begin to make amends to those she has hurt, including her sister, Vivian. Vivian is the wife of one of the club members Danny belongs to. One of those club members is Jace, Vivian’s spouse, and Callie’s got a LOT of amends to make there!
Danny owns several custom car paint shops. He needs an office manager. Through an AA contact Callie shows up to apply for the job. Danny is torn. He needs an office manager and he has a soft spot for Callie even though she screwed him over times. Still it takes him several days and the wisdom of his club to take her on.
Things begin to heat up between them when … well… let’s not insert a spoiler.
Callie is an engaging character, dealing one day at a time with her sobriety. The author does not make her magically ‘cured’ - her character is plausible and yet appealing. She is easy to root for.
Danny is sexy and down to earth, nurturing his relationship with Callie instead of pressing ahead full steam before she is ready. He’s attractive, unconventional and comes with a huge ‘family.’ Though you don’t see as much about his family, the club, as you might in previous Men of Haven books. Still, if read as part of the series it is wonderful to get a glance at some of your old favorites. But as mentioned before, this can be read as a standalone and thoroughly enjoyed.

wow... Danny and Callie were great and i loved how she found her way back to Grace. Wanted to smack Jace a lot but he finally came around. Glad they found their way to an HEA.

Recovering alcoholic/addict, Callie Moore, unexpectedly reconnects with a family friend who bailed her out of trouble a few times. After Callie burned him when she relapsed, Danny Parker is hesitant to give her another chance. Growing up with an addicted parent gives him the perspective to see the difference in Callie now. Their romance is the first healthy relationship Callie has had besides her sister. Callie’s past jeopardizes her reconciliation with her sister and clarifies Danny’s feelings for her.
I felt the author handled the touchy subject of addiction extremely well and the touching author’s note at the end addresses this issue. I really enjoyed reading this story and loved revisiting the men of Haven.

As always Rhenna Morgan writes a story that is uplifting. Her characters are special and their stories are as well.

I could go on and on about how amazing this story is but I want everyone to read it. But I want everyone to see how strong Callie is. Danny is a strong stoic character . He makes some missteps but in all honesty he has reasons. I want the read to experience how these two are soul mated destined to be together. This book is an absolutely must read.
I want everyone to go deep dive in the Rhenna’s back list. To meet this amazing found family she has created. The dynamics and love that is in this group are perfect. These books can be read as a standalone but honestly you should READ them all! Did I mention you should read this book? Read all the book? If I could I would give this book a 1000/5 star rating!

Addiction, redemption and forgiveness!!

“Got it etched in the Hall of Firsts?” I caught her smile right before she ducked her head and chuckled. “Oh, it’s locked in for life, for sure.”
I’ve been waiting for Danny’s to get his own story for a long time. I absolutely love the Men of Haven Series.
That absolutely glowing, ear-to-ear smile that made her eyes shine ten times brighter.
Like I’d somehow hung the moon with one hand tied behind my back. I’d never felt anything like it in my life, but I knew—hands down—it was precious.
Danny had to deal with his trust issues with Callie in this heartfelt story about overcoming the past and finding your forever. Maybe that was why it seemed there was something missing. Not that I didn’t love it just something that the other books had that this one didn’t.
You can’t leave us hanging. I need Ninette and Rex’s story. Please!!

I can’t help it, I love these men that skirt that gray area between right and wrong along with the women who stand behind them. I fell in love with them from the moment they were introduced in Rough & Tumble and now it seems that they’ve come full circle, since that’s also when readers first met Callie and Danny.
It’s kind of fitting that it took 7 books for Callie to finally get her story. She had a lot to get through to get her life back on track. Regardless of the changes that she made in her life, she had her work cut out for her to gain back the trust that she had more or less obliterated between herself and Vivienne. Jace wasn’t about to let her get close to her sister until she proved herself, but there was something about the changes that Danny saw in her that gave him the courage (or the stupidity) to defend her – even to Jace.
Danny had his own insecurities to get through and he needed to find a way to get over them and ask for help when he needed it. His “family” was behind him, no matter what – which is one of the things that draws me to this series. I think “found family” is one of my favorite tropes, and Men of Haven is one of the strongest I’ve read. These men and women would do anything to protect not only their own, but the innocent around them. With each book in this series, that family is growing, not only larger, but stronger.
Trusted & True was full of danger, suspense, heartbreak, heat and love. Everything I’ve come to expect and adore about this series – from both the featured characters and the supporting ones that readers have come to know and love. Like I mentioned in my first comment after I finished this one, “I really hope that there’s more to come for the Men of Haven…for reasons.” ❤

I couldn’t get into this one. I couldn’t relate to Callie or Danny even though I felt Danny was a fun character and Callie deserved her second chance. Not sure why this one didn’t work out for me… it just didn’t.

I loved the Men of Haven series so I was really excited to read this book. I just couldn't get into it. I was missing the fast paced action and zing of the other stories. It was okay but honestly, forgettable.

When I received the email notifying me that I'd been approved for an ARC of this book, it MADE.MY.DAY. Rhenna Morgan has become one of my go-to authors... one that I know will deliver without my even reading the book blurb. So when I saw there would be another Men of Haven book, SIGN ME UP!
This book did not disappoint. As an avid romance reader, there is nothing like diving back into a series that you loved, revisiting the characters that left an impression on you, and falling in love with new ones. I will admit that I didn't remember Danny very much from previous books. It has been a while since I was in the Men of Haven world, so the first part of this book was like a refresher course for me. I did remember Callie, and I have to fess up to being no so thrilled that she was going to be getting a book. Why would I want to read about a total screw-up? How could the author possibly redeem this character?
Oh ye of little faith. I was WRONG. Sometimes, for me, the best heroes are the ones I don't expect. The guy who was a jerk in a previous book, or someone who is not who I think I would be attracted to or intrigued by. Well, same goes for a heroine, apparently. Callie grew on me from the very beginning. Her story wasn't pretty and she didn't have an easy go of it, but she hit rock bottom and put in the time and the work to make a better life.
I loved that the meeting between Callie and Danny was pure chance. He knew her before, and was a helping hand during many of her past...indiscretions. But it was just dumb luck that she ended up in his place of business asking about a job.
Rhenna Morgan is smart. So smart. She didn't try to force Callie into a picture perfect mold of a recovering addict. She didn't give us a neat package. She gave us someone who was barely out of rehab (a year sober) and moving to another state from where her recovery started. She had little money, no family save a sister who (rightly so) does not speak to her, and really nothing more than an apartment, a car and a resolve to be a better person.
I believed her.
And I am so glad that Danny did. The author didn't have him make Callie jump through hoops. He gave her a hard time at first, but that was understandable. He thought about it and ended up giving her a chance. I loved that about him. He had seen Callie at her worst, many times, and yet he still believed in another chance.
Their romance started pretty quickly after she began working for him, but it was believable. They were so comfortable with each other that the reader could FEEL it. They had flirty times and sexy times, but for the most part it was just the two of them being what the other needed.
Of course, being a Men of Haven book, there had to be some drama. And it was a doozy.

One of the things I loved the most about this was that the major crisis did NOT involve Callie's sobriety. So many authors would have gone down that road, having her fall off the wagon (or come close), and having that come between her and Danny. Not this one. She gave us a crazy scary intense scenerio, but it was not Callie falling back on old habits. I love a book when the main characters are together, and any difficulties are against them, not between them.

I loved being back in this world. Having Jace and Axel and Zeke and Knox and the rest brought back to the forefront. This was such a solid read for me, and I wish there would be a dozen more books in this series. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars was that I wanted Danny to be a little more alpha. He was intense and sexy and protective, but I got kind of a beta hero vibe from him, which is not my usual cup of tea. The writing was excellent, the storyline believable and the characters are men I'd fall in love with and women I'd want to be friends with. A reader can't ask for anything more!
This book did not disappoint. As an avid romance reader, there is nothing like diving back into a series that you loved, revisiting the characters that left an impression on you, and falling in love with new ones. I will admit that I didn't remember Danny very much from previous books. It has been a while since I was in the Men of Haven world, so the first part of this book was like a refresher course for me. I did remember Callie, and I have to fess up to being no so thrilled that she was going to be getting a book. Why would I want to read about a total screw-up? How could the author possibly redeem this character?
Oh ye of little faith. I was WRONG. Sometimes, for me, the best heroes are the ones I don't expect. The guy who was a jerk in a previous book, or someone who is not who I think I would be attracted to or intrigued by. Well, same goes for a heroine, apparently. Callie grew on me from the very beginning. Her story wasn't pretty and she didn't have an easy go of it, but she hit rock bottom and put in the time and the work to make a better life.
I loved that the meeting between Callie and Danny was pure chance. He knew her before, and was a helping hand during many of her past...indiscretions. But it was just dumb luck that she ended up in his place of business asking about a job.
Rhenna Morgan is smart. So smart. She didn't try to force Callie into a picture perfect mold of a recovering addict. She didn't give us a neat package. She gave us someone who was barely out of rehab (a year sober) and moving to another state from where her recovery started. She had little money, no family save a sister who (rightly so) does not speak to her, and really nothing more than an apartment, a car and a resolve to be a better person.
I believed her.
And I am so glad that Danny did. The author didn't have him make Callie jump through hoops. He gave her a hard time at first, but that was understandable. He thought about it and ended up giving her a chance. I loved that about him. He had seen Callie at her worst, many times, and yet he still believed in another chance.
Their romance started pretty quickly after she began working for him, but it was believable. They were so comfortable with each other that the reader could FEEL it. They had flirty times and sexy times, but for the most part it was just the two of them being what the other needed.
Of course, being a Men of Haven book, there had to be some drama. And it was a doozy.
***POSSIBLE SPOILER***
One of the things I loved the most about this was that the major crisis did NOT involve Callie's sobriety. So many authors would have gone down that road, having her fall off the wagon (or come close), and having that come between her and Danny. Not this one. She gave us a crazy scary intense scenerio, but it was not Callie falling back on old habits. I love a book when the main characters are together, and any difficulties are against them, not between them.

I loved being back in this world. Having Jace and Axel and Zeke and Knox and the rest brought back to the forefront. This book is officially my favourtite of the series.
I have really loved Danny throughout this series were we have seen him become a member of the Haven brothers,and grow into his own person.
Before he became a Haven Brother he would do odd jobs for them,including helping Vivian's sister Callie get out of scrapes she would get herself into and eventually to Rehab.
Callie is an addict and she was given an ultimatum by Jace Viv's boyfriend at the time To get herself clean and into Rehab or she would be left to fend for herself and end up dead,by the hands of drug dealers she owed money to.It was Danny's job to take her to rehab.
So in this book we see Callie a recovering addict trying to get her life together and choose a healthier life,she is clean and trying to be better.
She applys for a job not knowing that it is Danny's buisness she has applied for a job at.
Needless to say it is a shock to them both when they first see one another again,the last time Danny had seen Callie she was a mess.
But before him was a beautiful woman,honest and strong trying to stay on track with her life.
This book is just so beautiful and ugly and I fell head over heels in Love with Danny.
I loved the way their romance slowly progressed,as they got to know the people they were NOW not the people they were before.
Callie won me over in this book,Previously we had seen her being totally selfish and reckless.But now we see her owning up to ALL her mistakes and she confronted people she had hurt,and still managed to stay sober.She was incredibly strong and brave I loved her innocence about everything and she enjoyed the simple things in life and appreciated everything.
I adored Danny and his kindness and patience he had with her,I love the way he defended her against her critics even if it meant he would lose people he loved.He seen the warrior inside Callie recognised that she had an illness and she was doing her best.She did have to prove she could be trustworthy,and she was.
But her past would always come back to haunt her and it did again which could cause her to possibly lose the life she built and maybe lose her own life.
This book was raw and emotional sexy and made my heart just burst with feelings,I loved these two and I thought their relationship was just really beautiful,I am so glad Rhenna Morgan decided to pair these two together.Because they are made for eachother.
I am going to miss these Men of Haven and I have just loved each and every book,Danny and Callie were the perfect ending.

I have a family history of addiction & drug & alcohol abuse & I was both wondering how those topics would be treated in a romance & also aware that I was coming to the table with my own experiences & feelings on the topic.
Now that I’ve offered that review caveat I’ll say that in general I love redemption stories + second chance stories, how much hope they offer & how satisfying the narrative arc often is, & in the case of Trusted & True by Rhenna Morgan, protagonist Callie Moore is clearly invested in making good choices & in “making amends.”
She’s obviously done a lot of work thinking about her past actions, triggers, and motivations & leans heavily on the things that help her stay healthy & safe.
In general I really enjoyed Rhenna Morgan’s focus on blue collar leads & found family with this romance, & the hero Danny’s admissions that professionally, he’s not satisfied.
But I have two big problems with this romance. First, the relationship between Danny & Callie just moves so quickly. The end, in particular, feels rushed.
Second, two of Callie’s past actions—really big & tbh troubling admissions—are just lobbed into the plot & then they’re pretty easily dismissed by the characters…but not by me. Callie made a huge mistake when she was a teen in particular—one that makes me feel very uncomfortable but the other characters are kind of like, oh it’s okay (obviously exaggerating some here).
I believe in second chances but the execution of a second chance arc just doesn’t totally work for me in this book. Maybe if these were things the characters had started to process before the book started—instead of being quickly introduced in this book—it would have been more successful for me.

Hoffnung, Wunder und Gelassenheit
Es ist jetzt der 7te Band dieser Reihe und ich habe sie alle gelesen. Das Cover auch hier wieder einladend, sexy und macht neugierig auf die spannende Story.
Eine Story über Callie, die Schwester von Viv, die wir bereits aus dem vorherigen Band kennen Als Einzelband sind sie alle gut zu lesen, allerdings mag ich es komplett um in diese „Haven-Familie“ einzutauchen und mich wohl zu fühlen.
Diese Story hat mich besonders berührt, da es doch ein Thema aufgreift das einige von uns sicherlich in irgendeiner Weise kennen bzw. davon betroffen sind. Die folgenden Worte der Autorin bringen es auf den Punkt, klingt einfach ist aber definitiv hart:
„Alles was es braucht, ist der erste Schritt. Ich verspreche dir, du bist nicht allein.“
Auch hier bin ich mal wieder hin und weg – habe es fast an einem Stück gelesen. Callie und Danny, zwei Charaktere die sich ergänzen und harmonieren, stark und authentisch.
Die komplette Haven-Familie einfach eine tolle Einheit. Sie halten zusammen und helfen, kämpfen mit den Vorurteilen und allem was das Leben in einer großen Familie so mit sich bringt.
Davon kann man im realen Leben nur träumen, oder auch nicht. Bin sicher es gibt eine solche irgendwo da draußen. Wer diese hat kann sich glücklich schätzen.
Wow, merke gerade dass ich hier mal eine andere Rezension schreibe als sonst. Ich schweife etwas ab. Es gibt nur eins zu schreiben: Man muss es gelesen haben.
Als kleine Anmerkung am Rande: Über fehlende Erotik, die Nahtoderfahrung und evtl. anderen Namen (Sponsorin z. Bsp.) kann ich hinwegsehen. Das sind Kleinigkeiten das Thema wurde nicht verfehlt und geht tief. Punkt.
Fazit: Ein sehr tiefer gehender 7. Teil und leider wohl der letzte?

Is it me or the book?
I really wanted to love this book because, for the most part, I've really enjoyed the Men of Haven books. It's been a long time since the first book and remembering anything about Viv and Jace, and anyone surrounding them, that I didn't remember Callie at all. Maybe she was not really in it? I seriously can't remember. So that kind of threw me. And maybe it's because it's been such a long time since a MoH book came out that I had a hard time with Danny. I'm just not sure. So maybe it's me, but maybe it's also the book...
As for the story, it started of okay, but I quickly became bored. The story was more about Callie and the work she was putting in to fight her alcoholism than anything else. I felt like Danny's part of it all took kind of a backseat. It also seemed like the one issue that was going to push the story and give me some suspense and action, well it was kind of non climactic and just meh. It felt like that was not even secondary to the story, but more along the lines of just something thrown in to have more to write about.
I'm bummed because I could see how they were a good couple and could have had this amazing love story, but even that was not on page. I'm normally the person who will complain about too much sex in a book, but this book was lacking that connection between Callie and Danny so very much.
In the end, it was just not a book for me, something I should have realized since it took me 6 days to finish. I felt missing a lot of things and only having a few really good moments.
