BethanyWe met eight years ago.Now we’re spending the last of summer together. He aggravates me like crazy and turns me on like mad. What’s brewing between us is undeniableElectric grazes, heart-pounding glances, silent pleas for moreWe allow ourselves to indulge in each otherUnder the condition that we end with summerAnd the steam and sin burning between usStays our secret. But can we say goodbye to something so good?JesseWe promised it would be one hot summerThat we'd part ways and keep it a secretMemories just for us to shareBut I did something really stupidI went and fell in loveNow I don't know how to say goodbyeHot Girl Summer is a slightly taboo, light themed full-length standalone romance. For ADULT readers only.
Daisy Jane is a forbidden love romance author, inspired by VC Andrews and more . When she's not penning a hot age gap novel or dreaming up steamy stories, she's enjoying the sunshine and warmth at her home in California. She enjoys reading, true crime, exercise and, of course, romance.
I really love the stepsibling taboo trope. And Hot Girl Summer gives you a steamy but sweet twist on the trope; it's very refreshing, to be honest.
Bethany, aka Bets and Jesse, are step-siblings. They have never had a sibling relationship and met once eight years ago at their parent's wedding. I asked the same question, how could they not see each other after all that time. It is all explained. Trust fur process. Eight years later, and they’re highly attracted to each other.
Bets feel she is stuck in a rut and wants to have a hot girl summer, lines blur, and Jesse and Bets try and make the most of the four weeks together. You can cut the sexual tension between these two. Freaking explosive
The author delivered a steamy and nontoxic relationship. Of course, they’re secrets and emotions. It was nice to see Jesse more vulnerable and open with Bets. If you like taboo and Step siblings, this is a must-read book.
Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. YESS! 😩🥵 thank you for this ARC & thank you for Jesse 🤤
Alright let’s get to it!
Jesse & Bethany are both returning home for their parents to renew their vows after 8 years of marriage. Bethany is very close with Jesse’s older brothers but because she’s slightly older than Jesse & only having met once, they never got a chance to bond. That’s quickly remedied after an awkward reintroduction lol
Bethany has been a lull in life and felt that this summer was a chance to spice things up and blow off steam… Jesse sharing the same sentiment…. Well you can see where I’m going with this. The two make a deal to make the best of the summer & theirselves over the next 4 weeks.
The sexual tension & spice between these two was hot af. But again, this being the third book I’ve read by Daisy, i can’t help but fucking give her props for the healthy relationship we’re given. (Well as healthy as fucking your step brother behind your moms back can be.) While Jesse came from money and has a lot of help from his dad, he’s very down to earth & isn’t afraid to be vulnerable to Bethany, he is a little embarrassed but his desire to be open with her is everything.
Hot Girl Summer will be out August 30th! Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 / 5 Spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥/ 5 • will be available on ku •
Holy hotness!! What did I just read?!?! Taboo? Sure. Make you stay up all night reading? Heck yes! I don’t even know how to express all the steam, chemistry and banter that occurs. The secrets, the emotions, the feelings, the steamy scenes....hello!!!! This was a book I truly didn’t want to put down. Started it when I couldn’t sleep and throughout the next day I was ready to quit my job and leave my family just so I could finish this book! Okay, maybe not such drastic measures but you get the idea.
Bethany and Jesse’s parents married when they were both younger. Having only met once at the wedding they both go their separate ways and lived different lives. With Bethany starting college and Jesse in high school their paths never crossed...until now. Meeting again at their parent’s vow renewal ceremony, they never expected to feel the bond that is so strong between them.
I would say, definitely only meant for mature audiences. As you just read, you can see how this can be a taboo subject. For me, it was definitely worth the lack of sleep!
Started with low expectations considering the title and felt like a silly but spicy romance, however this book was so much more. I really enjoyed this more sophisticated take on the step-sibling trope. They are both adults, didn’t grow up together and are only meeting for basically the first time in this book. It still has all the ‘CANT let our family find out/ this is taboo’ stuff but there’s definitely more of just a normal couple romance with some solid spicy scenes🤭🤭 overall enjoyed the plot, characters and writing, would definitely recommend👌👌
Only a three year age gap and the MCs are basically strangers.
My favourite aspect of this story was how wonderful the whole family dynamic was. Everyone knew how to communicate and the MMC’s stutter was endearing.
Jesse is pre med and looking for some summer fun before going back to med school. He decides to hit up his father’s lake house for a few weeks. Bethany’s life is in a funk. So to shake it off, she decides to spend the summer at her mother’s new lake house.
What neither one counts on is the immediate connection and intense chemistry they have. What happens when the lines blur and the romance is a little taboo?
Daisy Jane definitely puts the HOT in Hot Girl Summer. If you’re looking for a sightly taboo book with lots of sexual tension and steamy goodness, look no further than this book right here.
I was walking around this book for a looong time thinking that it’s some lame book just with smut and no plot. I was sorely mistaken and now happy that I finally decided to read it!
It’s a stepbrother/sister romance, happening at the family vocation where main characters meet after 8 years of separation. Generally speaking, they are strangers, even though, “family” to each other, because they met only once during the wedding of their parents. And instantly there is a spark! Yessss.. 🔥
Loved the reversed age gap, hot hot smexy times including kinky art (oh my!), public places and voyeurism 🤭
And what a coming out to the family it was! I was screaming 🫣🤣
Loved their family and friends, characters themselves and ability to go for it when you see what you want.
DNF at 69% Can't really pinpoint what bugged me. Jesse almost insta-loved Bets, Bets herself was pretty boring to me and I don't know, it just didn't click.
- 3.5 stars - hahahaha okay I’m reading this - so far a lot of elements I like. They meet, they like each other, they spend time with each other. It’s simple. Except the fact that they’re step siblings. They did a good job explaining why they’ve only met once before, seemed sorta plausible. - 68% motionless sex, interesting. It really was motionless lol. - 78% DAMN we missed 3 weeks just like that? Poof. That’s sad. - okay. I really liked that Jesse was all like… fuck this, if you don’t want to fight for us and you don’t want us nearly as bad, then forget it. But I ALSO liked that he went back to confirm, because miscommunication sucks. I wish Bethany did a little more on that front, like try to make amends, especially since she was the one who broke it off, and she was the one who accused him of sleeping with someone else. - I also fucking love that they didn’t get engaged since he was still in school, but they agreed they wanted to once he was done. - at least Bethany made a big effort later to support him while he was in med school by visiting him at work, etc., since his hours weren’t flexible - overall this was actually better than I expected. I do wish there were more show and less tell, but this was good. - coming off reading a PNR trilogy (Villains and Virtues), this was the perfect palate cleanser. I only wish we got to see them getting to know each other more and enjoying the relationship more. ✅ feels

Bets and Jesse have a few things in common. Neither are looking to settle down. Both of them are attractive. And both of them are looking to have a fun summer that has a cut off date so they can have a summer that they can’t forget…. Oh and her mom is married to his dad.
I love a book that can push some boundaries. The fact that Bets and Jesse are (somewhat) step siblings definitely does that. I say somewhat because they have never actually spent time together or built any type of brother/sister relationship prior to the summer on the lake. Unlike the other brothers in the family, Bets has absolutely no familial love or relationship with Jesse, which makes it even better.
The relationship is taboo. The sex is hot. And there is a happy ending. How could you not like that?!
The only reason why I can’t go with a solid 5 is because there were moments where Jesses cockiness made me roll my eyes a bit. Yes, he grew up having no self esteem, but it was a bit much. Once I wrapped my head around it just being a part of his character, I got more on board and ended up really liking him by the end.
This book was exactly the easy, breezy summer read I needed after the fiasco of the previous book. It struck the perfect balance between light-hearted fun, a touch of drama, and just the right amount of spice. The story flowed effortlessly, making it the kind of book you can happily get lost in for an afternoon. The characters felt warm and relatable with Jesse and Bets stealing the spotlight through their undeniable chemistry. Their dynamic had me rooting for them, and the progression of their relationship delivered all the emotions I was hoping for. Beyond them, the supporting cast brought charm and a sense of completeness to the story, adding to the overall feel-good atmosphere. What I appreciated most was how this book stayed true to what it promised. A fun, romantic escape. It wasn’t bogged down with unnecessary twists or heavy turns, it simply leaned into being an enjoyable, summery romance that leaves you smiling. In the end, Hot Girl Summer gave me exactly what I wanted. A happy, flirty, satisfying read that’s perfect for lounging with sunshine on your skin. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone in need of something light, fun, and romantic.
So hot! This steamy story had a slow build up, to some of the steamiest scenes I've read! Jesse is the standard for book boyfriends...real men should take notes!
Bethany is looking to get out of the funk she's in...can this really be my life, it's good but I'm stuck! She decides to use all her saved up vacation time and go to her mom's new lake house for the summer and just enjoy the sun, fun and hopefully some D.
Jesse is a hardworking pre-med student who is working so hard to get through this program he doesn't have time for fun. He takes some time off to just be a young guy at his dad's new lake house, forget about school for a few weeks and enjoy the sun, fun and maybe some time with a hot girl!
But what to do when one, or both start to develop more than summer fling feelings?
I am so very happy I crossed paths with Jane and her books. I always look forward to reading what ever she writes. I am a huge, massive fan of her age gaps so I was pleasantly surprised to find her non age gaps just as delightful. Yet, still the same delicious, hot romance I know to expect from her.
Yes, this is a step sibling romance. But once you read the story, you understand why it’s only slightly taboo. And Jane absolutely rocked this storyline. She had me inhaling this story every free moment I had. When I wasn’t reading, I was constantly wondering what would happen next. Would their secret be revealed? Would their family shame them for their summer fling?
This story was beyond amazing, absolutely intriguing, and fun from start to finish. I would love to know more about those brothers and their leading ladies. HOT GIRL SUMMER was so hot and a definite must read. 5 Stars!
Jesse and Bethany are step-siblings that have never met in their adult life until this Summer. Their parents have purchased a lake house and have organized a vacation with their children for a month before their vowel renewal.
After a hilarious/scandalous meet cute, Jesse and Bet have very strong feelings toward each other. It gets really steamy with these two as they share a handful of moments together getting to know one another.
If you're looking for a spicy taboo Summer read, pick this one up! It's so good. I loved the character dynamics with the siblings and the funny moments we get in between the spice.
My favorite scenes were: -meet cute -the bar -late night couples swim -hospital love
10/10 you need it! I'll be thinking about it all Summer.
Bethany is bored with her life. Bethany is single and in a job that has no advancement, she decides that she wants a hot girl summer. Being wild, reckless, and sated will help Bethany get out of her funk.
Bethany has an exciting summer that knocks her out of her funk and always Bethany to be free. Added to the story is some spice.
This book is NSFW. I was embarrassed at how much this book made me blush in public. It just hit all the senses.
I'll be reading all the books from this author. Yes!
3⭐️🫤🫤🫤 sadly, I didn’t feel the chemistry with this couple. IMO it was instalove and I am kinda sad it was not nearly as good as All My Love.
There was miscommunication towards the end that I have realized really is not my thing - I also kinda didn’t care for any of the characters- I felt they were surface level. I couldn’t for the life of me imagine any of these people in real life… mannerisms… or even imagine their personalities. 🤷🏻♀️
The author has a writing style that is easy to read so I am not opposed to picking up more from her especially since she wrote All My Love-I think her future books are the ones I’m going to watch for!
2.5 ⭐️ This book just wasn’t my thing. It isn’t the stepbrother romance factor. That is in my dark romance wheelhouse, hence why I picked the book. Everyone said it was so spicy. Personally, after reading other spicier books, I found it tame. I have read many genres throughout the years and this read more like a older teen romance but with sex. So I feel like this book has been given a lot of hype about its naughtiness but really? It is explained over and over that the two of them never even met more than like once, and they aren’t blood related.. so 🥱 what’s taboo? “Flowers in the Attic” was more taboo and I read that when I was 12.
Absolutely loved this! This is the third book of Daisy Janes' I've read and I was not expecting it. I've read her more "unhinged" stories so I wasn't expecting this rather normal, "taboo-ish" and sweet love story.
Yes. They are step siblings but they don't grow up together and have only ever met one other time. So honestly the book feels pretty normal and is really a beautiful story about two people falling in love for the first time (with some slight family complications 🤭)
Bethany and Jesse were written so wonderfully and I really loved the connection between them and the spicy was sooo good!
Their parents are doing a vow renewal eight years after the big I do, and it’s been just as long since the two have crossed paths. They never formed a step family bond which is good since their mutual attraction is off the charts. There’s no way this can continue after summer, so they make an agreement. Hot, fans face, and fun summer read with a dual pov and a hea.

I loved this book. It so sexy and hot. The sex is so incredibly passionate and a bit dirty (which is the best). I loved the taboo step siblings aspect and this was done really well and maturely. It was a really good story. Well written. Fast paced but the story want rushed.
Loved this one so much! Daisy Jane always brings us amazing taboo romance and this step sibling plot is spot on! I love the family dynamic in this and the banter with the other step brothers was great! Bets and Jesse were swoon worthy and the SPICE was 👩🍳 💋
I love that although this is a step-brother/sister trope it’s different to some of the typical ones.
This was such a great read and I loved the characters. Daisy is so good at putting together a story you want to dive into, the plot was plotting and the spice was spicing!
I had issues with this book. Overall the taboo nature and steamy scenes between our two characters was great. However too much of the book focuses on side characters which left me bored. Plus outside factors moved the plot along near the end which is a huge pet peeve for me in books.
Holy step siblings! Ha this book was HOT!! Taboo but I’m a sucker for it. What was suppose to be a one summer fling for them.. the real question is how can they walk away & move on in the end?! The spice was good! 3/5
Everything one could want in taboo! Jesse was the perfect book boyfriend. Perfect taboo angst and use of it as a excuse. There was humor and I couldn’t resist smiling and laughing. This romance novel was fun, steamy and so good!
The start was a little slow, but it didn't take long and it got exciting. I enjoyed these characters. A little disappointed how it seemed like it just ended without a final chapter. But I enjoy this writer and her writing style.
