This is my first exposure to this series and it definitely did not disappoint! His well-developed characters and easy writing style make it an easy and pleasurable read. This is a well-written, suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat thriller that will leave you breathless at times in anticipation of the next twist in the plot. Don’t start reading this book if you are not prepared to stay up all night. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Thank you to the author who provided me with a copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This is another well-written book by author Blair Howard. He is definitely one of my top three authors! His characters are always believable and you find yourself wondering (and worried) if they are going to make it through the latest situation they find themselves in. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this third book in The Peacemaker series!

This is book three of The Peacemaker series and sees Casey (Cassandra) Wu and Nero (Al Westwood) back in action together. Casey has been living in Spain with her niece Lucy McLaren, since the events where she was kidnapped by Peacekeepers, her parents were killed in front of her and Casey managed to save her. Casey is still working quietly in the background, looking for Lester Doubleday, the kingpin of the Peacemaker organisation, or at least one of the more radical arms of it. His various plots for world destruction haven’t worked so far, but now he is seemingly planning something even more deadly that could bring about the extinction of nearly everyone in the world! A mad hatter sort of plan that would supposedly save the world from all that is wrong with it today, by destroying it. Luckily there are more than a few groups of people who are after the Peacemakers and want to stop them. Al ‘Nero’ Westwood, a former British SAS officer turned mercenary, has been living a life away from the action in Paris, with his girlfriend Lisette Caron, a former French SOC officer, when they both realise there is something missing from their life together. The missing item is a bit of action and adventure, like they were used to in their former lives. Lisette contacts a friend for a job and the pair are hired to escort a scared Belgian scientist, Dr Lucien Barbier, to an undisclosed location in the States. He says people are trying to kill him for his gain of function (biomolecular genetics) research into viruses, which he had removed from his lab. They are led to believe it will be a simple job, but it is anything but, with attacks happening almost as soon as they start their journey!
Casey has managed to capture one of the men who were involved in the kidnapping of her niece and Lucy has been trailing Casey, trying to find out what she is up to. Lucy is almost sixteen and wholly unprepared for what she uncovers, but quickly asks her aunt to train her to use a gun and to work with her in tracking down Doubleday, since he and his men killed her parents. Lucy is already quite a whizz at computers and uses some of her skills to uncover a possible location for Doubleday and they travel to just outside Paris, to see Casey’s contact Merlin, to get arms and supplies they may need for the trip ahead. Merlin calls up Jack O’Neal, former MI6 director, who comes to meet with Casey, along with his men Ulrich who Casey has met before, but doesn’t really like, as well as Marco and a much younger man called Ravi. Lucy and Ravi bond over their understanding of computers, which Casey doesn’t like too much, as he is too old for Lucy! It seems the group has now grown bigger as they realise they will need to all work together, if they are to stop whatever Doubleday has planned. Casey insists that Lucy stay behind, but Merlin helps her set up a large HQ, with all the equipment she could ever need, to be able to be their eyes and ears once they are on the ground.
Just when you think the good guys are reaching the end of the job, having fought off huge numbers of bad guys all over the world, there is always another twist to the tale. The very papers that Barbier was guarding with his life, do not reach the trusted person he believed they were going to find at their final location. Casey, Jack and the rest of them, meet up with Al and Lisette just as Doubleday escapes from their clutches yet again. How the Peacemakers seem to know their every step is signposted from early on to all eagle eyed readers, but doesn’t detract from the sheer scale of adventure going on with all of the teams. The story starts off with Al and Lisette, then Casey and Lucy, and finally with Jack and his gang bringing everything together. The teams will have to discover where the attack is going to happen and because of whose work was needed to finalise Doubleday’s plans, they know a virus will be released. Casey has to stay undercover for the final action, as she is still a wanted person almost everywhere, but can’t help putting her oar in when needed when it comes to taking down the main man himself! There are shootouts galore, interrogations, betrayal, and death, all in a thrilling rollercoaster ride to stop the Peacemakers once and for all. If they don’t, then the world as they know it will cease to exist and generations to come will suffer from the effects of this dangerous virus. Lucy is looking like being a mini Casey in the making and this will no doubt lead to some more exciting adventures for the two in the near future. Great teamwork from all the characters, working to stop Doubleday’s ultimate plan to destroy the world, not by killing millions, but by spreading a virus will slower but lasting effects. This series just gets better and better as it goes on and the characters are spell blinding in action and determination. I can’t wait for more to come from them all! I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Definitely the A team

The Peacemakers are still intent on achieving world peace their way. The latest idea is to use a predominant scientist's research to cull the world's population by making the male population sterile, only a selected few would remain fertile to create a much smaller world population.
Thereby, food would be plentiful for those uninfected by the virus.
Al Westwood, his partner, Lisette have been hired to get the scientist from France to USA, via the U.K.
Unbeknownst to them another group including Casey Wu, her niece, Lucy , Merlin, the armourer, Marco , Ulrich and a trainer are hunting Peacemakers who still believe in the 'Cause'.
After seeing her parents murdered by Doubleday, a year ago, Lucy is now living with her aunt, Casey Wu, and having aged ten years since the attack, no longer an innocent teenager, Lucy has grown in character and is proving to have qualities and instincts similar to her aunt's.
Caught in a tight spot, she has no hesitation shooting a man, who would have killed Casey. She eventually persuaded Casey to teach her the skills needed to become a work partner.
Lucy's prowess on computers earns her a minor place on the team, but she proves invaluable in thinking outside the box and finding intelligence not obvious to others.
Senator Rains and her wife seem to be in the thick of things as previously , all info points to an unknown location of an Aqua Pure company in Alaska.
Both Al's group and Casey's are heading to Alaska and the possible factory.
Both teams are expected and unwelcome due to a traitor in Casey's team.
Doubleday takes the research and kills the scientist fleeing in a helicopter before he can be stopped.
DC is the next stopping point. Casey and Al's group get together and share information to defeat the terrors once and foreall.

Blair Howard has done it again. The Extinction Protocol is a great read. In some regards it may be the best book he has written to date. At one point in the book I felt as if I was with the characters when they were deciding how they were going to proceed with their next step. What kind and amount of armament was each member of the team going to choose. The way Blair described what each member was thinking as he/she picked their choice made you feel as if you were in the room with them. With that in mind, the story in itself was a page turner. I did not want to put the book down at night. It was hard deciding at what point did I have to stop so that I could turn the light out and get some sleep.
The story gives you some insights of how much Casey Wu cares for her niece Lucy and how much Lucy wants to be like her aunt Casey. Can Lucy make Casey learn how she can help her aunt do what needs to be done to get “the job” done? Can Casey learn that even a teenager can be an asset to the team?
What is at risk is a virus that could be released that would change the whole status of Earth, even more than Covid-19 has done. Along with can the team prevent the Peacemakers who are trying to make the Earth a better place (in their point of view) Casey is out to revenge the death of Lucy’s parents. All along the way the reader is wondering how everything will fit together given the many aspect of the story, along with the cast of characters that are brought back for the story. All around a great enjoyable read.

OMG Blair Howard, it just gets better, this is the third book in this standalone series and the author knows just how to extract every iota of suspense and drama.
Belgian scientist Dr Lucien Barbier had discovered something that could change the world, it needed to be destroyed. Dr Barbier smuggled the research papers from his lab. he knew just who would do this but the best laid plans ..........
This book brings together old friends from previous books, former SAS Al "Nero" Westwood still on the US wanted list, his girlfriend former French SOC officer Lisette Caron, ex MI6 agent Jack O'Neil and the infamous Cassandra "Casey" Wu wanted by every agency worldwide and her computer ace Niece, fifteen year old Lucy, this unconventional but brilliant team were to work together to stop the Peacemaker in his malicious attempt to save the world by destroying it but who are the good guys and who are the bad guys ?
Dr Barbier's research had reached the wrong hands, the world as we know it is in danger.
This story is fast, furious, action packed, full of drama and nail biting suspense. I love it when an author has researched his subject and Blair Howard has obviously done this, his knowledge of weaponry and tactics is aw inspiring.
If I could give this book more than five stars I would, it had me reading far into the night, and Oh, what an ending. I am so looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This is the 3rd story in the series and it is as great a read as the others. The story unfolds with Lizette and Nero getting bored and wanting something more. Lizette had a contact and the two accepted a job as body guards getting a scientist to his location. Their original thought that this was going to be an easy job. Meanwhile, Casey and her niece Lucy, wound up at Merlin's where they ran into Jack and others on the team. The group decided to get Doubleday who was planning a surprise attack. They team found a location where they thought he was at and made arrangements to capture him. Lucy and Merlin stayed behind and set up communications for them.

Upon arrival, Jack and his team went to capture Doubleday where they met up with Nero and Lizette. They were not successful in grabbing Doubleday and they regrouped to figure their net move. They soon were able to figure out where the attack was going to occur and proceeded there.

To learn what the attack was about, how Nero and Lizette ultimately met up with Jack and what the planned attack hoped to accomplish. To find this out, you need to read the book. The ending is unexpected and once you have read it, you won't be disappointed.

Exciting! Amazing! Awesome! Impossible to out down! My goodness we have been waiting quite a while for another book in this series and the author has delivered! Casey Wu and Albert Westwood, better known as Nero are in the same book again and you can expect lots of guns, action, mystery and suspense! The beautiful and highly intelligent Lisette is still around also and Doubleday, leader of the Peacemakers has quite the sneaky horrendous plan up his sleeve. I had some other things I had been putting off doing while I listened to Audiobooks and worked on my latest addiction of diamond painting! But they got pushed to the side again when I started reading this before I went to bed. Oh my big mistake if you have other things to do because I read until I fell asleep and then jumped right back in this morning!! There is so much action in this book it's impossible to lay it down because someone could die and you would miss it until you had time to pick it up again. I swear this book is so full, of another crazy situation that you just have to keep reading! I hope you will pick it up and give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. This review is totally my own honest opinion of an awesome book.

Ninety seven printed pages hold the secrets of a ploy by the Peacemaker, Lester Doubleday, to save the world. This brings together Al (Nero) Westwood and the love of his life, Lisette Caron, and Casey Wu and her teenage niece Lucy McLaren. Al Westwood and Lisette Caron are contracted to escort a Virologist from Europe to Alaska and all along the way they meet unexpected trouble. The Virologist has printed out the ninety seven pages which contain the secret the Peacemaker plans to employ.
An action packed story that flows well with many a twist and turn, and has the main characters facing dangerous and unexpected situations all along the way. It also reintroduces Casey Wu’s niece Lucy whose mother was murdered in a previous story, by Lester Doubleday, causing her to seek revenge. Lucy becomes a valuable back room assistant to the characters facing danger in the front line.
A really enjoyable read, difficult to put down as the story and action unfolds.

loved the new and improved Casey Wu in this book. She's almost human for a change, her robotic behavior replaced by an almost motherly figure as she looks out for her niece Lucy. Lucy enters with a bang and is immediately irreplaceable as her computer skills are impeccable and save the crew from destruction. Several former adversaries work seamlessly as they pursue the goal of justice.
Mirroring to some degree the Trumper fake-news of the origin of covid in the pandemic of 2019-21, a schemer
attempts to release a nasty virus. This one doesn't kill but creates a similar result.
Ties to Lucy's mother's murderer prompt Casey and Lucy Wu to get revenge.
Former hired guns who have at times worked against Wu hustle to eliminate the virus plot and the devils who backed it.
As always, Howard surprises with an ending most of us would have never imagined on our own.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Westwood (Nero) and Cassandra Wu (Casey) have joined forces again with Jack O'Neal to once more try to stop the Peacemakers. This book had the same great characters from the previous book in the series with a few new additions, and it had the same great action. Another reviewer said the action was not realistic. No, it isn't, but as I read it I was picturing an action movie with a young Jean-Claude Van Damme. In the movies the good guys almost always win no matter the odds stacked against them. This is fiction. If I want realism I will read the news. I love Blair Howard's style of writing and his ability to draw us into the characters' lives. This book kept me reading late into the night. Will there be more Nero and Wu in the future? If they don't defeat the Peacemakers there may not be a future.

Nero and Casey Wu link up again, somewhat haphazardly, and from different points of the action when the Peacemakers rear their ugly heads once more. With Nero finally realising he’s in love and Casey at a somewhat different point in her life, reassessing how she sees things, you get to see totally different sides to these hardened killers. The development of their characters makes them even more believable as they both reassess what their lives and various people mean to them. Old adversaries meanwhile make life very difficult for them making them more fearful than they’ve ever been before. There is definitely more to lose. This one they have to win. All bets are off as The Peacemakers perform their deadliest acts yet. Blair Howard has written another action packed thriller. I loved it.
I received a free ARC in return for an honest review. 5 stars is the minimum I would have awarded.

“A Full throttle pure adrenalin highly enjoyable read”

What a rush, what a book it starts at full speed and ends with a Bang!
This is the third book in the Peacemaker series but can easily be read as a standalone, but my advice is to read them all.
Full of suspense action and drama and starts with an easy babysitting job protecting a Dr Barber who has discovered something that could change the world and others want and with the team protecting him surely that is enough? Wrong!
With betrayal shootouts and can the good guys keep and his research papers be kept safe.
This action adventure is full throttle pure adrenalin fast paced book by Blair not going to give away too much of the storyline you have to gonna read it for yourselves and You will not be disappointed! A Must read.

This action packed story will have you on the edge of your seat as the bad guys seem to just come out of the woodwork. Casey Wu (an assassin) is now the guardian of her niece Lucy and as such, she has a lot to consider when it comes to going off to fight evil. In the meantime, Nero and Lisette have lived in Paris for over a year and both are getting a little restless with their mundane daily life. So they accept a "job" from someone who Lisette knows. But what is supposed to be a simple bodyguard job turns out to be something entirely different. There are many questions that get raised as the story progresses but the action is quick and non-stop at times. Best story yet of this series.

Clear your calendar! You don't want to be interrupted when you are reading this. If you've read the previous Peacemaker books, you are familiar with the main characters but this is a stand alone book. It just makes you want to go back and read the previous books plus put your name on the list for the next book. Lots of action from strong, competent and clever participants in a race to prevent a world-changing event while trying to defeat the bad guys without getting killed by the good guys. Every character's back story is touched upon but leaves holes for later expansion. I want more in this series.

Talk about a nail biter page turner! This book picked up momentum from the very beginning, then catapulted to a climatic ending. As usual, Blair Howard’s writing was filled with twists and turns and “edge of the seat” suspense.
What I especially loved about this book is that it brought together all the past players and showed them working as a team to stop the Peacemakers once again. But this time, the Peacemakers threw in a lot of curve balls of their own.
I especially fell in love with a new character in this book. Lucy is endearing and her talents are incredible. She is a great addition to the team as well as bringing out a more human side to Casey.

Nero and Lisette decide to get back in the game to spice up their lives because domestic life is too dull for them. While in the field, they run into Jack O’Neal and his team which includes Casey Wu and her niece Lucy. They realize their missions are both related to the Peacemakers, so they join forces to track down Lester Doubleday and the Peacemakers to stop them from carrying out an evil plot. What follows is a non-stop action packed adventure with twists and turns all along the way. A fast paced page turner you won’t want to put down. This third installment in the Peacemakers series is the best…so far.

Well done

The Extinction Protocol is a great follow up to book 2 of the series. Once again they are out to save the world from the Peacemakers. Old characters return and new ones are introduced. Nero and Lizette. Casey and Lucy. Jack and his new team. We get more insight into these characters and see a different side of Casey as she struggles with difficult decisions regarding her niece Lucy.

There are two threads running through this story and they are so well woven together bringing all of the characters together into the finale

I received a copy of this book for review. I thoroughly enjoyed The Extinction Protocol and look forward to the next in the series.

Another great action packed book by Blair Howard. This is the third book in the Peacemaker series. Jack O’Neal’s team of assassins including Casey Wu are hot on the trail of Peacemaker Doubleday when they encounter Nero and Lisette who were being bodyguards and delivering a virologist to the lab. Now they all need to work together to prevent an attack on mankind. Incredible teamwork and an even better ending. Interesting characters and a great plot.

The Extinction Protocol: The Peacemaker Book 3, my thirty-fifth read from author Blair Howard, and the third in his excellent new series. Well-written and enjoyable, edge of your seat Espionage Thriller fiction, a genre I find myself leaning towards. As much as I like Harry Starke & Kate Gazzara, I look forward to his next book no matter the main character. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Mr. Howard takes a great plot, adds in strong characters, lots of action, mixes it up with twists and turns, and tops it off with an ending that no one saw coming.  I get caught up in the story to the point that I’m not concerned that a couple of our heroes using pea shooters can take out an overwhelming number of bad guys.  I read fiction for escape and entertainment – Mr. Howard’s novels provide these in large measure.  I received an ARC – this review is my honest opinion.  I’m looking forward to reading more of this outstanding author’s writing.

I am a big fan of Blair Howard. I love this new series he is writing. This series will quickly become your favorite. The book starts with Casey Wu taking care of her sister's teenage daughter Lucy. Casey is secretly hunting for the people who killed her sister and brother-in-law. Little did she know that Lucy was following her when she found one of the killers. This is an exciting book from page one to the end. Once you start reading you won't be able to put it down. I highly recommend this series you won't regret it.

If you love all action thrillers, this one's for you!
Escorting a Belgian scientist to the US seemed like a dull, routine assignment for Nero (ex-SAS) and girlfriend Lisette (ex-SOC) until they discover that a former enemy, the Peacemaker, is after the research that the scientist is carrying. And the stakes couldn't be higher - the reseach could enable an infection to be spread worldwide, destroying most of humankind. A well-written action thriller which will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This book has everything you would expect when reading a thriller. Fast paced, action-packed, many twists and turns and a thought-provoking and chilling subject. Reads like a standalone. The characters are well developed, we can follow easily. I love how he brings the characters to life, their personalities come through strongly. Blair Howard is an author I discovered not so long ago and I love his writing, the way he plunges us into the heart of the action and doesn't give us a break until the conclusion of the adventure. I received this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The Extinction Protocol, book 3 of the Peacemakers is every bit as good as the first and second books. Westwood and Wu are once again paired with Jack O'Neal in trying to stop the evil shenanigans of the Peacemakers. Extinction Protocol brings old characters and new characters together in a page turning, action packed read. Honestly, you just can't go wrong with any of the books by author Blair Howard. As an ARC reader I was given an advance copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

The Peacemakers are back again. Al and Lisette are settled in together, maybe getting a little bored? They decide to take on an easy job just to change things up. Casey and Lucy are trying to figure things out. Then Casey gets a lead on Doubleday and she is off. She isn't going to let him get away this time. There are twists and turns all the way through this book. The action never stops and you are racing to get to the next page. As always Blair Howard delivers.
