The Nympthetamine Girls

Rate this book
The Secrets here in Verdant Glen are expected, they come along with the deeds.

Lisette and Natalia are perfect. What all the other girls want to be. Beautiful and famous as their alter egos online, they revel in the joy of sexual exploration, and exhibitionism online. The view, the likes, the followers. It’s addictive. Almost as addictive as the forbidden fruit of their new teacher, John May.

With a dark past of his own, he see’s Lisette for exactly what she is. Both tempting, and troubled. Will he surprise her, or will it be the other way around?

I started reading this book without reading/knowing the synopsis. All I knew going into this story was there was ALOT of smut lol. (Also a lot of trigger warnings)

Let me start off with just saying WOW! It was SO much more than I expected.
The spice level was 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
The overall story was incredibly good and worth the 5 stars I gave it. It opens your eyes up to very real things that are/can be happening at this very moment.

These two girls wanted and craved attention so badly that they sought it out in their own way. Not all being in a good way. They just wanted to be seen and loved.
It shines a light on co-dependance, manipulation, trauma, self-love, self-harm and much much more.

Lisette jumps from a broken friendship to a semi relationship seeking validation from another person but herself.

John is just as bad at manipulating Lisette as Natalia was. Just in different ways.

Lisette shows shoe character growth throughout the entire book. By the end she has realized and overcome so much of her past trauma and has been able to help other younger women that are experiencing exactly what she went through.

This book is intense in all the best ways. The lessons, the quotes, the heartbreak! Ugh it was such a good book.
I truly enjoyed reading it.

Wow this book was amazing. I started this book completely blind not knowing anything about it.
There is a lot of spice and smut!!! It deals with very heavy themes such as self harm, manipulation, codependency, and many other things. So be aware of trigger warnings ! I loved seeing how the main character went through such a journey and came out the other side stronger and loved herself more. I loved the journey and everything about this book. It was beautifully written.

In this provocative and stirring cautionary tale, Vanessa Morris's breakout novel is nothing short of daring. Weaving elements of erotica with the disturbing and toxic realities of social media, this story takes you on a fast paced journey through the darkness of two lost girls, trying to be seen.
Written with grit, this is a book that will grab you and not let go until the final page.
And in the end, you are left with a feeling of hope... that even in our darkness moments, we can rise above the mess and find the strength that had been inside us the whole time.
I look forward to seeing what this author has up her sleeve next.

My romance read for January was The Nymphetamine Girls by Vanessa Morris. This was a five star read with quite a few aspects that need trigger warnings. That being said, the overall storyline is pretty awesome.

The Nymphetamine Girls are an entangled duo that is Instagram famous for their spicy photos and style. Natalia and Lisette had everything they wanted .... except for Mr. May. As the girls get closer to the edge of a teacher/ student liaison, their personal issues threaten to tear their secrets apart and change their lives forever. John May holds his own mysterious past close but can't deny the temptation he feels from his student's flirtatious games. Little do they know, he's ready to say checkmate and take the Queen all for himself.

I loved the way this tale unfolded. It was very Shakespearean in it's delivery and the multiple points of view kept the story interesting. The ending was phenomenal and made every scene that much more important. Great choice for smut lovers, adults who walk on the darker side, and readers who love a strong female lead.

***May contain possible spoilers *** I received an ARC copy. Defenitely read the triggers before reading this book. They Include alcohol and Substance abuse, sa, self harm and is not for the feint of heart.
At first when I started I to read was intrigued by Lissette’s relationship with her best friend. These two are completely addicted to social media and how they want to be viewed by everyone. They want to be desired and wanted by all.
LissetteIs in her senior year of high school. She if about to graduate and the next guy she has set her eyes on is her teacher. Lissette doesn't do relationships. The only relationship she felt she can trust is the friendship she has with her best friend Natalia.
This book really shows how bad thing can happen and how a person grow and overcome the bad experiences they have faced in their life and grow. I highly recommend that if you feel like you a start to read this book and want to stop you continue on to see how a person can grow and overcome the bad things that can happen in ones life.

That ending though!

Vanessa Morris was a new to me author when I was recommended this book. I really enjoyed this well written emotional rollercoaster of a novel and will definitely be back to read more by her! I related to both Natalia and Lissette and could easily have seen myself making some of the same decisions they did at their age. Lissettes growth during the story was beautiful yet tragic. I would love to see a book featuring her and Cole!

Amazing Story

This was an absolutely amazing story. Two young girls, both having gone through things. Doing anything to find attention and validation. This book talks about dark topics. But the story is told is such an amazing way. It’s disturbing, but also, beautiful, in the growth that the main character shows.

I like this one and this is the first time I've read anything by this author.
It is a dark romance with two young persons that still are learning what life is about.
