Derick Beaumont is ruthless, arrogant, dangerously sexy, and also my new boss – but not by my choice. He knew the art world was my passion and now he’s blacklisted me from every job in the city so I have no choice but to work for him as his gopher (aka. personal assistant). If I ever want a chance at my dream job, I have to do every single thing that he says. I guess he thinks I’ll cave, or fall for him like all the other women do. But neither of those things are going to happen. I don’t care how high his cheek bones are or how well he fills out those expensive suits of his. I won’t break…will I?
"Ain’t nothin to a real ☝🏽 one, Ain’t nothin to a boss" - Boss by the Carters
Derick is a billionaire bad boy like no other and for some insane reason he’s blacklisted Gracie from every art gallery in the city. What a way to spend a day going from place to place interviewing only to be told no at everyone of them. Then at the last gallery she’s in a woman pulls her to the side and tells her the wicked truth that’s she been blacklisted but NYC’s🗽 number one bachelor Derick Beaumont. Gracie has an idea to find Derick and see what the heck his problem is. Then she gets whisked away on the street and learns that her life is going to be turned upside down by no other than Derick.
Let me start my little tangent lol 😂 by saying that this guy has the nerve to be built like a god on-top of everything. He is gorgeous and cheek bones straight out of a Vogue cover. His voice is passionate and gravelly and deep and did we mention he is filthy stinking rich🤑.
Rant time
Everyone knows that men with the name Derick, Derric, and Derek are a trip in the romance book world. It is a know fact that if the man’s name is in this range he will be a jerk. However, he will also be impossibly sexy, rich and awesome in bed. These sounds like good things but these men will make you fall for them, break your lady parts, then shortly after your heart. When that is all said and done you will most likely (85 % chance) be pregnant 🤰 or angry and have left them. But don’t worry baby girl he will come back and redeem himself.
Unless there is a woman like Gracie who throws him off his game

Their love story is so stinking adorable 🥰 and their enemies to lovers banter is 10/10. As always Jenna takes me away especially with cute little lines like this.

This story as all of Ms. Rose’s will have a crazy bit of drama but I promise there is an HEA for my hopeless romantics. 💗💓
I received an ARC from the author and I am leaving an honest review.
Deliciously tormenting and filled with questions from the very beginning! How is someone's life turned upside down dramatically by a billionaire they don't know? To make matters worse, the only way she can get by is to work for him! Secrets and shocks and artistic spender!
This was a quick read that pulled you in with the burning question-why he chose her. Strong writing, characters defined. This is my voluntary review of my free ARC copy from Booksprout. This story deals with the art world and the characters show their clear appreciation for it.
Our H and h had attraction to one another, it was more than apparent! Each wanted and waited to a point to get together. I liked that they tried to see how the other worked first and that each learned from one another. Forcing her into a meeting, he gave her chances to grow more confidence which I appreciate instead of just kissing her and going for it.
***Spoiler this paragraph only*** However...we had to wait too long to find out how he knew her. As level-headed as she was, our h should have questioned him waaay before on who he was. Upon meeting she should have given him hell, not gone along with it. If she had I would have felt their connection better than I did. That was inconsistent because the writing was good. Also, even if I wasn't from New York...she was so negative about it. Dirty place? Maybe people like her shouldn't be allowed the privilege to live there. Looking for her type of job? There are opportunities upon opportunities for the non-lazy, just as the author demonstrates in this story. More so than any other place. However, you have to lower your standards a bit, not everyone gets to be CEO and right away. Imagine that. And love New York or not, there are opportunities available there that can only be found in places like this. Like art dealing-and at that level? Do not understand her negativity. There was no appreciation for where she was. Yet she still lived there, and raising kids there. And it's NY, that's why no one would console her? No, sweetie, anyone anywhere won't just come up to a stranger and instantly comfort you on a street. Rude people? Oh, good Lord...if you only lived in the real world. Try living in the palm tree/entitled state. It's a delight.
Interesting world of art dealings, and a man who would not easily give in or up on our h. An h that was smart, but not in all ways. It was hard to connect with a character who doesn't question things more. Also one who apparently hated a place that was clearly helping her choice of career. Her disdain made no sense and yet she chose to have a future there.
I have been a massive fan of this author for the past year or so and I don't miss a new release. Even though I read this last year, just reading the blurb has all the feels rushing back. Poor Gracie! Derick is surely an a-hole but he redeems himself so very well. Don't miss out on their story!
I usually love this author but was barely 20% in when it just got bad. Gracie was blacklisted, ruining her career and screwing up her life, then openly blackmailed by the dude but the guy was hot so her reaction was to LITETALLY to shrug her shoulders and say "okay"?? Then he proceeded to shove her in a slutty dress so he can show her off, then screams at her and blames her when another man grabs her hand... Ya im good. This isn't even an alpha thing, it's straight up manipulation and abuse.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Gracie had gone against everything her parents had said when she decided to study art at college and moving to New York was the next step inbuilding her dream life. Only the life she was living in New York was nothing like the one she was expecting. There was no Friends or Sex in The City moments like she was expecting, what she actually had was a smaller than small closet to live in and every job that she applied for at the top and mediocre art galleries were fruitless, that is until one of the galleries finally let her in on the secret that she had been blacklisted as an employee by one of the most powerful men in the city. She had never heard of Derick Beaumont so ha no idea why he would be trying to ruin her life and career. So, when she finally meets the man that is trying to shape the way her life goes will she discover why, is she to be his plaything or is there something more there and should she be giving her heart to a man as ruthless as he has shown he can be?
Derrick Beaumont has been obsessed with Gracie since the moment he met her a month ago and today is the day that his planning all comes together. He has planned everything to exactly how he wants it but the moment he sees her again things change, he thought that this was an itch to scratch but this is no itch and not something that is going to go away with a simple scratch. This girl has turned his world upside down and now he is wanting more than just an assistant, he wants a wife but just when it looks like he can finally have everything he could possibly want does someone from his past re-appear. Is he about to lose the one thing that money can't buy, the woman he loves, will she give him a chance to explain?
I love Ms Rose's books with an innocent heroine and a hero with the world at his feet and as always there is just the right amount of drama. I recommend any book by this writer. 4.5* read.
I liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable although I still had questions/things that struck me as odd. The characters were interesting.
Ok, so the questions that I had were: 1) How did Gracie get that drunk at a restaurant when she isn't old enough to drink and just manage to wander over and run into Derick who is a billionaire? 2) What did Gracie and Derick discuss that caused him to act the way that he did? 3) What was up with Pierre? He was all staring Gracie down while she's asking if she can get dressed. 4) Where did Pierre go? During the scenes with Derick and Gracie together, all I could think is - Where's Pierre? Is he watching? What the heck!?! 5) What happened to Kass?
Besides all of that, I did enjoy the story. I liked that Derick kept arguing with himself even though he really wanted to keep Gracie forever. Gracie cracked me up with her fantasies about her boss that she then tried to tell herself that he would never be into. I liked their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book to decide for yourself.

This is the story of Derick and Gracie. The story began with Gracie, looking for a job in all art galleries of New York City, but the response was always the same, “we are not hiring”. At the last art gallery she went, the girl in charge felt her rejection and told her that she will never find a job in any art gallery of the city because Derick Beaumont, the playboy millionaire, blacklisted her. The reason, he wanted Gracie for him. He offered a job as his personal assistant and during his job she felt more like a gopher, but she did not realized that he was really in love with her. But she was also in love with him. After a couple ups and downs, the began a relationship. Everything was a dream for Gracie until a woman came to the apartment and told her a terrible story that made her run and tried to disappear. Can Derick be able to find Gracie and come clear about his past? Is the story the mystery woman told Gracie true? Great characters and plot. Nice book. Highly recommended.

Gracie, 19, has come to New York to Gina a job in the art world but she finds out that Derrick has blacklisted her from all the art galleries so she won’t be hired. Derrick is a billionaire Most Eligible Playboy in New York City and had fallen for Gracie when he first saw her but never met her. He had her brought to his penthouse and offers her a job as his personal assistant. She takes the job when he tells her that he get her a job in a gallery in the future if she becomes his assistant and does everything he asks. They both become attracted but will Gracie succeed as his assistant, get a job at a gallery, and find happiness with Derrick?
I enjoyed this cute story where the billionaire falls in love with Gracie the first time he sees her and sets it up so she can’t refuse a job working for him. Derrick thought working for him would toughen her up to work in the art world. Their story was fun to read although highly improbable. The epilogue was a great ending for their story.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with. Gracie sweet, an artist, moved to NY to run an art gallery and after being turned down it dawns on her something is wrong or going on. After some research learning that a billionaire has blackballed her, but she doesn’t know or understand why. Derick is the sexy as all get out billionaire who blackballed her all because he wanted her for his own personal assistant, but he doesn’t explain to her why. The chemistry is instant and intense the magnetic pull can’t be ignored. Derick usually gets what/who he wants and now he wants Gracie starting with her being his assistant. Neither of them expected to fall so deeply and so fast in love with each other and he has taken it upon himself to show her they belong together, will she understand why he blackballed her, and can the find happiness?
Was disgusted by the actions of the "H", not even close to it for me
Belonging to the Boss is a fast-paced, OTT insta-lust/love story with the addition of older man/younger woman. The story is about Gracie and Derick. One look at Gracie one evening and Derick knows he has to have the beautiful younger woman. So he goes about getting her is an very underhanded and manipulative way. This book did not really work for me as I was disgusted by what Derick did. Then he manipulated and took advantage of a nineteen year old girl. It was just off to me, not sure it is is the mood I was in or what. I usually like Jenna Rose stories but this one was just not for me.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own and I know that other readers will love this book. So if you are already a fan of Jenna Rose pick it up and make up your own mind. But if you haven't read the author yet I might suggest picking a different story to try first.
Our hero knows what he wants, so he sets out to remove all our heroine's other options.
This is a short romance story with a billionaire theme. The story is very well written and easy to read, so no issues there. Our characters are also well developed and eventually shown to have good chemistry. But therein lies my problem, the "eventually." I really did not like our hero and his approach to dating. Frankly, he was every bit he jerk and her did not deserve our heroine. That kind of put a damper on things for me. Still, we get plenty of steam and a nice HEA epilogue, so the destination was correct if not the journey. Overall, I have my reservations about this one, but I still look forward to more from this author.
Highly recommended.

Gracie is looking for a job at an art gallery but learns that she has been blacklisted by a billionaire that she has never met. Derick has ensured that Gracie is dependent upon him to secure a job and forces her to become his personal assistant. He doesn't consider how difficult it will be on him to have her around him constantly given his attraction to her. This is a fairly predictable story (mutual attraction, deny, deny, deny, succumb, profess love, huge misunderstanding threatens to rip them apart forever, easy explanation, declaration of love, HEA), however it is a delightful read with stubborn but lovable characters.

Young Grace moved from connecticut to New York only nineteen trying to persue a career in the art world but every interview she takes she knocked back until one of the interviewers inform her that she's been blacklisted and when she gets escorted to man himself Derrick offers her deal she can't refuse, but then things start heat up between them until someone from derick past shows and trys to ruin things between them will gracie stay or will she leave everything she love behind. This was a quick and enjoyable read

I won't knock anybody's kinks or quirks, I'm sure mine aren't what some like either. That being said, I really did not like where this book was going, and I only got halfway through. Seriously, Gracie is supposed to be GRATEFUL for what Derik is putting her through, and doing to her? Treating her like absolute garbage, and she's supposed to be thankful for it. I understand that strife and hardship builds character and strength, but this was too much. I love most of what Jenna Rose writes, truly. But this was just too much.

I really enjoy this story. It held my attention throughout the story. Grace is looking for work but she keeps getting rejected. She is sweet, smart, beautiful, and a little sassy. When she finds out why she is not getting a job things take a turn. She is amazing at what she do. Derick is a rich and successful man. He have his sight set on Grace. He is driven, smart, funny, and handsome. He is a amazing man! Jenna Rose did amazing on the writing. I was able to jump right in. I love her stories. Amazing work again Jenna Rose!
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Derick and Grace and does not let go. Grace has been blacklisted as she tries to find job after job. Finally, someone tells her who is responsible. Derick had met Grace at a bar and was instantly smitten by her. How far will he go to have her in his life?

Derick is a billionaire and runs into a drunk Gracie one night and is smitten. He blackballs her from all galleries so she can't get a job and then blackmails her into being his assistant. This ends up being a great short story and although I'm not a fan of calling a partner daddy", I recommend this story and author.

This was a good short story by. Ms. Rose. Derick and Gracie are hot together. I would probably kneed him in the tender nether bits if had done to me what he did to get her to work for him, but for a plot line, it worked. Hot with just a little touch of suspense towards the end.
This is an honest review of an ARC.

Derick is a billionaire that knows when he first sees Gracie that he has to have her. He may not go about it the right way, by having her black listed from all jobs in the city forcing her to work for him. Gracie is determined to work for him out of necessity but not fall for him. Will Derick get her to give him a chance to make her happy?

When Gracie first meets Derrick she doesnt even question him why he blacklisted her, she just accepts his job offer and is so cavalier about the whole situation.
All the big parts of the climax are also jot even written in the book. The two scenes in particular are:.
Derick and Gracie were really good together. These two are pulled together yet they both try to fight it. The steam between these two are scorching hot yet Derick's past comes back to interrupter their HEA. I did enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Jenna as a great author.

Derick has a weird way of courting his future wife. I do not question his motives, it’s just unconventional. Well if it does the job, guess it’s fine, for him at least. She’s happy with him, that is what matters.

Wow this book was fantastic. The passion and heat these two characters share between eachother is amazing. Together these two complete eachother, and they learn to trust eachother. This short read was steamy, suspenseful, and moments of pain, and loss... I could not put this book down and wanted to read more about Gracie and Derick.
I've read a lot of books written by Jenna Rose; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
She has written another great short story. Derick has blacklisted Gracie to the art world causing her to have no choice but to work for him as his personal assistant.

Derrick has made sure that Gracie has no choice but to work for him. He had her blacklisted at every art gallery in the city and then blackmailed her into working for him. Will he get everything he wants from Gracie or will she run away from him? This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
Wow this was a DNF at around 55%. I did not like either of the characters in this novella. He was so pressuring and reminded me of a white rich dude who thinks he can fuck a woman because he wants to. And she was so “ladylike and precious” type to the point that it was so basic. When I got to the smut it was so annoying to read.
This one was not for me - I just felt that the characters were rushed and there was no depth whatsoever to the story. I appreciate that it is a short read but it all just felt a bit rushed.
