Review of "Honora and the Five Wolves"

A short novella that read like a fairytale that went flat. The story was more about the FMC Honora and her evil stepmother Gertrude than it was about her and the five wolves.

There was no character development. Very little interaction between Honora and her five wolves except when she stumbled upon them in the forest and towards the end. The book mainly focused on her and her step mother who was indeed a witch. Honora’s step mother was awful to her father who was once a handsome, wealthy man who due to a freak accident became a paraplegic. A witch who was so vile and evil she sent Honora on a deadly mission for Blueberries deep in the forest knowing that she was going to run into the wild wolves.

Once her stepmother’s plans were thwarted and she found Honora living among the wolf shifters she became jealous and cast a dark magic spell to trap Honora while taking the 5 wolves for herself. Gertrude placed a spell on the wolves to be at her beck and call for whatever purpose she needed. Which involved them working in her fields, sleeping with her and pimping them out to the local women in the village.

This is where the book fell flat. The book jumps ahead 1 year. 1 year of Honora being a statute under Gertrude’s curse. 1 year of the five wolves working to please Gertrude in every way. Literally Honora came back to save the wolves with one weapon; her virginity. Seriously?

Nowhere in the book did we get any insight on what the wolves were feeling. What were the wolves thinking? Did they understand that they were under a spell? They were just mindless day laborers and male prostitutes. When Honora did break free of Gertrude’s spell; her focus was on saving the wolves. Nowhere in the book did it highlight the type of relationship she had with the wolves. How long did she stay with the wolves? How did the wolves feel about her? The reader has absolutely no idea of Honora and the five wolves’ relationship dynamic.

The book ends on an anticlimactic note with Honora’s father revealing to her what her mother truly was and that it was her legacy to put an end to Gertrude’s evil deeds. Learning that she was a witch by birth she challenged and defeated Gertrude and then her and the wolves decided to be together. Once again; nowhere in this book did she any interaction with the wolves except the very beginning when they found her and when she was using her virginity to seduce the wolves to break the spell. Other than that Honora and the wolves had no interaction, no growth, no love, no friendship. They literally had nothing in my opinion.

On a positive note I still have high hope for the other stories in this Anthology.

Where else can you read one book that you can sample so many authors?! Anthology books are a great way to sample authors, their stories, and their writing styles. Plus, these stories are amazing! I've only read about half of them I can't wait to read more and the rest from these authors! I only knew one of these authors so finding new authors to follow and read books from is awesome.

Sedona Ashes' story was such a cute and sassy why choose with a great fmc. I like that there were plenty of laughs and I liked that it was a shifter story!

This book is worth the read hands down!

Review for Better-Off Bunny, a short included in this series by the amazing Sedona Ashe, author of the Siren series, Klutz, and many more…

Better-Off Bunny is a sweetverse type story involving wolf and bunny shifters who interact together, as a group, on a daily basis while keeping the barrier between predator and prey. Except, we all know bunnies aren’t the cute little fluff balls they all portray themselves to be. What happens when an orphan is paired with a fluffle who wants nothing more than a toy? Read and find out. My only regret is that the story is so short. I want more.

This is an anthology with many stories to enjoy. So far I have read Sonora and The Five Wolves. It is the story of Sonora whose father marries a wicked witch with a plan. Gertrude sends Sonora off into the woods on an errand and there she meets shifter wolves and the story get crazy. Had to see how Sonora would survive int eh woods and would she win against Gertrude and her witchy ways. Love, danger and magic abound.

Four stars!!

There were some good stories in this book. I have found a couple new authors to read now. However, I wouldn't have read it without Ashley Amy writing in it. I want to know more about Diamond.

This is a multi-author book. And each story has its own unique story. And every story is good in its own story.

Review for Better off Bunny- I loved this little shifter novella. My only complaint was there wasn’t more! Monroe meets a group of wolf shifters she has feelings for but feels obligated to fulfill her duty as a rabbit shifter female. I loved the story and I’m wishing for more!

♥️💜😰 Very nice discovery!

An incredible collection of diverse and varied sentimental stories for lovers of sensations.

An excellent opportunity to discover new authors for a ridiculous price.

I enjoyed the sample reading so much that I bought the whole volume! I was not disappointed because the stories are all captivating to read for those who love fantasy and the sentimental.

Not to be missed for lovers of sentimental fantasy stories.

PACK OF THE ALPHAS (Reese Spenser) :

♥️💜Very nice story.

Naomi was surprised to see her sister Nadine arrive at her house, about to give birth.

Naomi was not at the end of her surprises and this event would change her life forever...

--------------

A very nice surprise for this beautiful fantasy story which features many fascinating characters.

I really liked Aria, the main character, as well as the background story full of mystery and unexpected events.

I recommend this beautiful story for lovers of spicy sentimental fantasy.

Review for Pack of the Alphas by Reese Spenser.

I love a good shifter story with engaging characters and dashes of romance. Author, Reese gives me just that with her short story Pack of the Alphas. All of the characters were great. I adored them so much that I would have loved to visit with them a bit longer.

Aria is more than capable of handling her alpha men...The Westwood triplets. They are Kai, feral lover, Anakin, sweet and sensitive alpha, and Calian, dominant, possessive alpha king. If you ask me to choose a favorite of the three men, I would not be able to as I liked them all for different reasons. If you like shifter romance stories, than you will want to read this one in the Eclipsing Hearts collection.

My first review is for

Touched by Fate by Lucy Scott Bryan

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

This is actually my first intro to Lucy's books. For being such a short story, it was a bit slow and took me a little bit to get into. However, I kept reading on and caught myself smiling at how fate brought Edi and the boys back together. Ugggh! It cut off just when I finally was getting into it. Just added to my TBR.

Hopeless by C.E. Lashua

⭐⭐⭐⭐💫/5

This was soooo good!!! Ugggh can't wait until the full version comes out!!!!

I was going into this book blindly and I was disappointed in the plot and how there were no real story.

It was a very fast and vague story and it could have been a lot better if there were more dialog in the book.

We don't get to see why these things happened and why she is that way until the end.

It felt like the story was incomplete because there were almost no dialog and just the stepmother talking a lot.

This anthology is heartfelt and funny. I especially like Sedona Ashes "Better off Bunny". The story is an amazing Reverse Harem. It is cute and fierce at the same time, just like the main character. If you like reverse harem's that involve shifters and laughter, this is definitely the book for you.

I always love an anthology because I get to read stories by authors I know and I usually discover new authors that I want to know better. This is a fated mates story and some stories are better than others, but overall it's a great collection. I read Sonora and the Five Witches as an ARC which I enjoyed and I ended up purchasing the book as well. Easy reads with lots of variety.

Sonora and the Five Wolves by Miriyam Hasnain: Allow about two and a half hours for this strange adult paranormal reverse harem set in an alternate reality without technology. I had an ARC of this one story via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary review.

Please Proofread and Learn Plot

I think that pretty much says it all. I made it about halfway through before giving up, and skipped to the end of every story but one, which I definitely enjoyed. It’s a shame that author is going to be dragged down by the rest.

I received this book as an ARC for Sky Purington’s Her Wicked Dragons. Which was an awesome read! Come see what happens to Liv. Does she have a fated mate in the lot? If so who is it? What does she have to do to get the mate she truly wants and win her happily ever after?

The book has stories from other authors who I have not read yet. Be interesting to see if I like any of them as much as I like Sky’s books. Who knows I may find another author I will have to add to my ever growing must read authors list.
