Alexander Rockingham keeps the secrets of Washington DC’s most elite players, but none are as devastating as his own.

Silver fox. Power player. Author of revenge.

People have called Alexander many things over the years, but it’s the last one he’s been living for.

Years ago, the Wynters ripped away everyone he’d loved. He made a promise then to erase that name. Now, with the family matriarch dead, he walks through the gates of their Connecticut estate as the owner with a sledgehammer in his hand. The only thing left to do is say goodbye to his beloved Charles.

He didn’t expect to find Rebecca, the third in their lovers’ trio, standing there.

He didn’t expect the man who is helping him settle the Wynter estate to offer himself to him and Rebecca as a stopgap to recapture a happier time. He didn’t expect to fall in love again—with both of them.

They say three is the strongest number. But sometimes the ghosts of the past are unbeatable, even for three.

Invincible is a M/F/M and M/M/F standalone novel in the Elite Doms of Washington Series. No cliff-hanger, HEA guaranteed. No cheating!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A good story of love lost, found and forged. Alexander has always seem invincible to everyone he has met, as well as always being there when the people he loved needed him. However his pain had always been hidden from them. Even those that know his secrets do not know the full extent of the pain he keep hidden.

This is great story of love and revenge Vs redemption. I would have given this story stars except I did not like Eric. With his inclusion and Rebecca I felt Alexander was more of a side character in their story. The last 4 chapter were the most character development I saw of him in the whole book, yes Eric did have a purpose but I would have preferred if his part of the book were given to Alexander.

I very good story and and a great ending to the series, I was great to see the other characters, how they have settled and grown. Again I would have liked one these characters been a conscience for Alexander then Eric. However an all round good book.

This is the story in the series that i needed to read,so badly…
Because Alexander intrigued me from the moment i met him in book one.
A caring, powerful man that always seemed to be alone.
That had a history that begged to be revealed.
And once i found out what that history was…..
I respected the man even more than i already did!
Who would leave the woman that held his heart to live life without him?
Just because he was convinced she didn’t feel the same about him?
Because she’d disappeared, and never sought him out.
After the other of their threesome,Charles, had died,so did the life they thought they’d lead.
But he made a promise to the bitch that was his mother….
He’d be back to take what was theirs, and walk freely towards the grave of his beloved Charles.
Climb the stairs to his room without anyone stopping him.
Not even Charles’ brother,Marston would be able to do anything.
Seeing Rebecca again made that day complete, even if the art dealer he asked to help,Eric, didn’t agree…

Eric had been lusting after Alexander from the first time they met.
Though lusting was not the word…..not with the feelings he had for the man….
And now, finally, his chance to do something about those had come, and he’d take it with both hands!
Only to find a woman taking up all of Alexander’s attention….
But once he got to know her, once he found out the history between the two,he knew she would always be there from now on.
That shouldn’t be a problem, though….because he liked her, really liked her.

Rebecca thought she was ready to see Alexander again after all those years.
But he’d changed into a man that oozed dominance,a man that could bring her to her knees with one look.
Back then, when they were young,he’d already had that, but now?
After a lifetime of honing those skills?
She didn’t stand a chance….and neither did the secrets she held.
She knew he’d demand she’d tell each and every one of them, but she needed time to find the best way to share….

And then Marston decided to cause trouble,by having Michael Headler, yes the one that hurt London, demanding apologies and restitution for mental distress and physical harm from Alexander.
Michael and his attorneys were easily dealt with, but Marston?
The bomb he dropped at Alexander’s feet made him see red.
And in his anger,he destroyed what he’d built with Rebecca….and Eric.
Was there any chance of them patching things up….again?

After a lifetime of heartache,of loneliness, even with all the other people he loved around him,Alexander had a chance at happiness again.
After being alone for so long,Rebecca needed Alexander and Eric, more than her next breath.
But her feelings of guilt, how misplaced they may be,stood in the way of her happiness.
Eric, new to this dynamic, had been a loner,a traveler for too long.
Needing to be needed,to be loved,he did everything in his power to make this threesome work.

This was a tragic story of true love lost.
A story of second chances taken.
And a story of dreams almost being destroyed.
Of love conquering all….
A story i enjoyed,very much!

Where to start! First, get some tissues because you are going to need them. Alexander's story is one fans of this series have been waiting for. We knew there was heartbreak in his past but when we find out just what it is...........oh man!! I was crying before I even finished the prologue. It goes back in time and I was so entrenched in this story that when I finished the book and looked at the time, it was almost 3:00 am. The emotions, the heartbreak, the anguish, it had me from the first page until the last. When Rebecca comes back into his life, Alexander still holds off but at the same time, is still in love with her. Add Eric into the mix and we get a emotional rollercoaster of a ride. When someone from the past shows up, can the trio stay together or will the secrets that are revealed once again drive Alexander away and cause the other two to run? This was emotional, intense and gut wrenching and that is why you will need tissues. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Heck, it deserves about 20 stars if you ask me. I also loved that this story was with mature characters in their 40's to 60's. It hit every single note for me and I consider this the best book Ms. SaFleur has written. Run, don't walk, to get this book!!!

Invincible by Elizabeth SaFleur is book 6 in the Elite Doms of Washington Series. This is the story of Alexander Rockingham who is the owner of Club Accendos and who has been throughout most of the previous books. I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Alexander seem to have lost everything that was emotionally important to him years ago. In his present day he is the trusted secret holder, his family and friends are the people at the club. But on this day he goes to make right a promise to right a wrong done to someone he loved Charles Wynter. Charles, Alexander and Rebecca where once all young and in love but Charles was taken from them and everything fell apart back in the past. So when he goes to the Connecticut Estate that he has now taken over he once again is reunited with Rebecca. Eric has always had feelings for Alexander and when he sees that feelings are still strong between Alexander and Rebecca he offers himself as the third in their relationship. Rebecca has issues from the past that come to her future and each finding their way in the new trio relationship.
This was a story built on older characters (40 plus) and does have M/M/F story line.

Love Safleurs work!
Her stories are intense
The emotions from her characters are so vivid...How do I explain it? I feel like I'm there - I can feel their heartbreak, their fears, their triumphs.
I am emotionally taxed as the last scene fades to dark -
The definition of a book hangover

This for me just might be one of my favorites to date. It's hard to pick! This story though just stole a piece of my heart.

I'm starting with Eric 'cause Hello!
Everyone should have an Eric in their life!
Someone who sees past the facade.
Someone who calls you on your bull puckey!
Also, someone who knows when to take control and when to submit to a higher authority ** *sigh***
And being honest here I really really liked his character

As for Alexander his internal pain shredded my heart. It wasn't his actions perse more the emotional pain he endured. He tried so hard. It was like his agony bled off the pages.
I screamed ... wanted to rip open those darn gates.
I honestly don't know if it was the innocence cultivated in his love for Charles or his personal feelings of failure that drove him forward. Maybe a bit of both?

Rebecca... I had to step back when it came to her. I understood, sort of, why she made the choices she did. But I wanted her to fight harder! To stop lying to herself! Let it go!
She, like Alexander and Charles, didn't know any better.
They each tried to protect the other not caring about the cost.

I read this story like the pages were on fire -
Each time they stumbled, each new betrayal, every feeling of inadequacy
Left another scorch mark on my heart.
They deserved better
I wanted ... no needed - to know they had their happily ever after - before it was too late
Before the embers of hope died out completely

Soooo worth the wait! Hands down the best book in the Elite Doms series. Alexander Rockingham is the fantasy man romance dreams are made of. We all need a little Alexander in our own lives.

This is a moving story that plays out over Alexander's whole life. Rebecca and Eric are fantastic supporting characters, but this book is built for and driven by Alexander. What a treat. A seesaw of emotion full of loss and longing, passion and remorse, sex and sin.

This book centers on forgiveness and acceptance, but SaFleur packages it in a delicious story of vulnerability and domination, because those are the two poles that Alexander has to wrestle with to evolve into the man in full he was always meant to be, and he can live and love in the moment.

The wait for Master Alexander’s story, the finale of the series, has been anticipated by many since the very beginning and it was such a beautiful story of love, loss, grief, forgiveness, acceptance, and release. Alexander has always been a controlled and stoic character who always favoured justice and fairness throughout the series. He kept his past secret but it was evident he carried a sadness with him and that he had suffered greatly. He was no stranger to heartbreak and at times he seemed resolved to be ever alone, never to love again. Finally seeing inside the man to the emotions and experiences that have swirled together to make him the powerful dominant of today was a fitting end to the series. I’ve always longed to see Alexander in action, to see him give himself and to be loved, cherished, the way he deserved. Author Elizabeth SaFleur has done him justice and written a poignantly beautiful story.

Alexander has been a permanent fixture in every book in the Elite Doms series. He is the friend and confidant to many. He is the Grand Arbitur of Club Accendos which is featured in and the center of every book in some way. The club itself provides a sensual experience and Elizabeth SaFleur has managed to master the art of creating realistic images in all her novels. Her techniques of describing the surroundings and the scenes allow me to envision clearly everything that is happening and where it is happening. Her writing also brings out the emotions of the characters and allows the reader to “feel” the story. I can't put into words how her writing weaves its way into my very soul. It is an experience like no other.

The events of Alexander’s past revealed a sad reality, one that is still prevalent in today’s society. Judgment, hate, and condemnation of people instead of love and acceptance makes for a bitter and lonely world; an existence that wastes so much energy. The relationship between Alexander, Charles, Rebecca, and Eric was truly wonderful. The intense emotions that their love exudes brought tears to my eyes. Their caring and selfless hearts were an inspiration. Life is hard enough to get through, why not live it to the fullest sharing your love instead of unleashing your evil.

All of the previous characters from every book have made cameo appearances in Invincible. Seeing them again, getting caught up on their lives today, made this book all the more perfect. These characters are not to be forgotten and they added both nostalgia and another dimension to this book. I will miss them all and should the author find the characters talking to her again one day, I will be happy to get lost in her words and all the Elite Doms.

I'm at a loss for words. this is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. I love it when I find a new author and start the book and devour it within one sitting... This is what happened with this beauty. I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I mean I had heard the author was amazing and knew how to write a decent romance but damn, this one had my emotions all over the place. In no way was I expecting to be sitting here with tears streaming down my face...
Alexander's story was emotional...

I'm not sure how to word this, without giving to much away. What I can say is I need to read the rest of this series, although this book is standalone but I feel like there is a lot more to this story than I am reading. I enjoyed this book so much. It was hot as hell, that is a given but it was so much more than that. This had depth, raw emotions and a plot so thick I could drown in it. I loved it! Alexander's story is heartbreaking... by chapter two I was in tears... Add in Eric and Rebecca.. and it just got more intense... More emotions and more heat. It was forbidden, more addictive and it consumed me. I was obsessed with these three. Alexander's past wasn't easy... When Rebecca comes into his life. He is hesitant to get closer to her, but he's in love with her and as much as he fights it, love will always win out... Then we add in Eric, someone whose been in love with Alexander for the longest time but feared telling him the truth... Put these three together and the author has given us an emotionally crippling, amazing, enticing and intense plot that will have you devouring it in a matter of hours. I couldn't put it down. This book is full of secrets, love, pain, heartache, and scenes that gut-punched me hard. It was forbidden, raw, emotional and tragically beautiful.

This story was a rollercoaster of emotions and I was not ready for what I just read, but I loved each and every word. The authors' words flowed so easily, it was extremely well written and had me addicted beyond belief.

Enticing, insightful, all-consuming, emotional and incredible. I couldn't get enough!

Absolutely loved this story !

Talk about keeping promises and holding secrets. Alexander has been a constant throughout tgis series and has remained a mystery, up till now. But we get him in his finest hour and we learn all his secrets and see everything he holds dear. 40 years is a long time to hold on to a promise, but when the man says he'll do something, well he doesn't soon forget. Rebecca is someone i can personally relate to. She's a strong woman yet afraid to let anyone down. She has done things, that she isn't exactly proud of, because it was the 'right thing to do.' She devoted, forgiving and has a heart of gold. And Eric. Well Eric is you typical 'I know what I wamt but it's not something I deserve' kinda guy. He will go out of his way to do anything for others and not give a second tgought to what that will do to him. This is a story about long ago love that never really dies. We all hold secrets and grudges and judge people based on what we see and hear. Sometimes we don't see exactly what is in front of us until it's too late. This story reminds me to never give up. Never let go. And always look ahead. You never know what's going to happen unless you take that leap.

Will the Stars Align in Promises Made

An amazing end to the most superb series Elite Dom’s of Washington by the inimitable author Elizabeth SaFleur a magnificent storyteller! The prologue set in 1981 explains this magnificent book in all its glory! Their blind lust and overwhelming need in the magic world of Alexander and Rebecca showed throughout this great read! Will Eric be accepted in their magic world? Can Eric and Rebecca, friends united, lay Alexander’s ghost to rest? Will Rebecca ever tell her secret from all those years ago, to Alexander? I adored the POV of Alexander, Eric and Rebecca for me this made the book so real. Can love be enough in Rebecca’s poor choices or will they be her downfall? How far will Alexander go to gain his revenge on the Wynter family? There is an overwhelming twist that you really do not expect but most enlightening at the very end!!
I shall so miss the Elite Dom’s of Washington even though the last book in the series leaves you highly satisfied and complete with happiness.

This has been the book I was dying to read after reading books 1-5 of the Elite Doms Washington. Finally, we now have Alexander's story!
I have to admit, I couldn't breathe from the first chapter. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I tapped my kindle, page by page, falling apart along with the twenty year old Alexander, as his world literally crumbled at the hands of the Alice Wynter.

Invincible, brings the reader to the here and now, forty some years later and Alexander must relive all the pain of that dreaded day. But he will also be keeping the promises for the ones he loved and for himself. What Alexander doesn't know is that he is not alone and what he finds out along the way of keeping his promises will shred your heart into a million pieces. But, I assure you the magic comes through, as it always does when Alexander is involved, and he finally finds peace again.
Amazing Read!!!

I have spent several days trying to decide how to write this review and none of the ways seem to do this work justice. At the least, it is the best book in the series and one of the best I have read this year. It’s a story of how a strong, powerful man can be hobbled to his past through hate, loneliness, secrets – and a love he cannot let go. It was painful to read at times, but ultimately the experience was transcendent and inspiring. I wouldn’t change a single word.

In the final installment of Elizabeth SaFleur’s Elite series we are given a story of healing from soul shattering events. Of mature characters who have lived their adult lives with the spiritual cancers from secrets within and inner pain that has festered for forty years. How can a love that laid dormant all those years be reignited and bring healing?

I wanted to read Alexander’s story since he was first introduced in Elizabeth SaFleur’s Elite series. Although he was a minor character in each book, his influence on all of the main characters was a major factor. He was an enigma. He was in control, never giving that power to anyone, yet there was always a sense of inner pain and mystery buried behind those steely eyes. Finally, we have his story. Every. Beautiful. Painful. Trancendent. Detail.

For once, I will not include any real spoilers. But I share two quotes which embody the essence of this man. One is the advice his much loved uncle gave him and by which he tried to live his life:

“Don’t beat anyone. Best them.
Keep all your promises.
Surround yourself with friends.
Always help if you could.
Don’t owe anyone anything. “

The second reveals his true character despite the walls he often builds around himself:

“If he thought about it, his life’s work was embodied not by the splendid architecture and award-winning gardens of his estate but by the people who inhabited it and considered it a place of refuge, a safe haven.”

Because that is what Alexander has done. He has built Club Accendos as a refuge for the many people whose lifestyles and needs were considered different, decadent, or even degenerate. People who led otherwise exemplary lives. Who had families, lovers, and friends. Who contributed to society and often held powerful positions therein, but who would be outcast if their BDSM lifestyles became known. These people were Alexander’s family and Accendos, their safehaven.

If you have read any of the Elite series, then you must read this one. It is a stand alone and you do not need to have read any of the other books before reading this one. It truly stands on its own. However, the main characters of the other books are also present here, so reading them is recommended.

Just a word of advice. This is not Fifty Shades, which is a decent book, but not a realistic depiction of BDSM. This is (as are all of the books in the series) a more realistic view of a lifestyle that can be shocking to some. At Accendos, safety, consent, and care are of primary importance.

This review is based upon an ARC I received and is my honest response.

Alexander is definitely a Dom, and he's always presented an unflappable facade to those he surrounds himself with. But here in his own story, wow, we learn just how much pain he has secreted deep (and not so deep) inside, where it comes from, and why he is the man he is today. In the prologue, which is heartbreaking, we're shown his first loves and first heartbreak. In the present, he's about to go fulfill a promise he made all those years ago. He just has no idea that a second chance, a new chance, and healing lie ahead of him, if he allows himself to accept those things, if he doesn't allow vengeance to take over his life.

Wow...this is a beautiful, albeit heartbreaking story. I love how much Alexander develops as a character, how he finally allows himself love, and healing, and a chance to finally be happy. I admit to shedding a few tears, but they were good tears because in the end, Alexander, Rebecca, and Eric achieve the happy ever after they all deserve so much, especially Alexander. I'm swooning and smiling just thinking about it now. I've heard this is the end of the Elite Doms of Washington series, and if so, this was definitely the perfect, and the best of the series, story to conclude with.

Invincible was an emotional read to a certain point for me. Alexander Rockingham was hurt badly in his past when his heart was ripped out, and he's lived for the revenge ever since. No one ever got close enough to learn the pain he was carrying around, as he was extremely closed off. He owns Club Accendos, so he's become very successful at keeping secrets of DC's most elite players. So it's really not shocking that no one knew about his past pain as he's become a pro at keeping things close to the vest. However, finally, he was able to keep the promise he made to 1/3 of his past meaningful relationship, but when one of them, Charles Wynters was on his death bed, he was refused at the door to be able to even say goodbye, so that day, he made a promise to Charles that one day he would be back, and it would be the day that he owned the house, while smashing anything with the Wynters left on it, like the gate to get in. It finally happened, so he was able to say goodbye where Charles rested many years later. The other 1/3 of them, Rebecca, who also played a part in the tragedy, he ends up reunited with her. I was mixed on this, because I was upset with her as well, for not standing up for for Alexander, so as far as I'm concerned, she's lucky he ever forgave her. And the new 3rd person added in, Eric, well, I wasn't a big fan of his to be honest, and I can't even pinpoint why at first. However, Elizabeth SaFleur really did write a story of 2nd chances at love, and maybe it was just me, but I just didn't imprint on everyone. Please don't take my word for it, because this is just my opinion, so don't take it as fact. I can say this, Ms. SaFleur's writing style is gripping so even when I would be upset about things or not feeling other things, I couldn't put the book down until I found out how it all ended. So, one click this story to form your own opinion as soon as you can, because at the end of the day, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Alexander Rockingham started Accendos, he is the Grand Arbiter of the Tribunal Council, and he considers the employees, and the other members of the council, his friends and family. He's rich and powerful, but he doesn't have anyone to call his own. It took forty years but his chance to get revenge for the loss of the two people he loved has finally come. He met Charles Wynter at Harvard, and Rebecca at the Wynter home. They were young, in love, and torn apart by the Wynter family. Eric Morrison is thrilled to be working with Alexander, and hopes that this will be his opportunity to get close to the man he has been in lust/love with for years. When Rebecca reappears in Alexander's life, Eric finds out about their past and is afraid that he has lost his chance. Rebecca and Alexander realize that they need a third person in their group and invite Eric into their scenes.

Wow, while Alexander has been in the other books in this series, his story needed to be told. I think these characters are fascinating, and unique. Alexander, Rebecca, and Eric become close, but until Alexander realizes that he can treasure his memories of his beloved Charles, he can also love, and move on with the two people who are with him now. While his story is sometimes tragic, Alexander uses his need for revenge to build a business and become extraordinarily rich and powerful, he will also get the happily ever after, I think, he deserved. I also thought this was a perfect end to a fantastic series. I loved this book, and the entire series!

I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.

The first few chapters are really extraordinary in their poignancy and nostalgia. Our now extremely super wealthy Master Dom Alexander Rockingham learns that Alice Wynters his old hated nemesis has finally died and her wastrel son Marston is eager to sell their once magnificent Connecticut estate. Alexander issues orders to his lawyer that he must buy it by day's end no matter the cost. Alexander loved Charles Wynter and on a break from Harvard they spent time at the Wynter estate forming a sexual tryst with the beautiful 17 year old Rebecca Beaumont and spent much time love-making in Charles' bedroom until being caught one day by his older brother, Marston, who promptly ratted them out to his parents. Alice the shrew found them disgusting and deviant so they left together for San Francisco but Charles became ill and had to return to the estate where his evil mother kept him under close watch and refused to let Alexander see him even when on his deathbed. Alexander swore he would break down the iron gates to the estate and trample over her body to get to see Charles' grave one day. When Rebecca also shunned him he was completely devastated. Now forty years later he pays $200 million for the estate but when Eric the appraiser from London sees it he realizes it is worth it considering the very high value rare art inside the house. This will tell how Alexander after 4 decades comes to resolve his hatred and bitterness as he finds again his beloved Rebecca and a dear selfless Eric to replace the magic of that long ago threesome. Incredibly strong romantic tale with light BDSM, steamy scenes taking place in Connecticut and Washington.

With her compelling, flawless writing, Elizabeth SaFleur invites readers into a world that will engulf you like a flame. INVINCIBLE will captivate you so completely, you will not want to walk away until you have consumed the entire thing. Rarely have I read a book in nearly one sitting, but her characters were so relatable that I found myself cancelling appointments so I could.

Alexander Rockingham, with his smooth veneer of power and dominance, is a man who has built his entire life around keeping a promise he made to his dying friend. When his long-lost love, Rebecca, shows up at his newly purchased estate thirty-eight years later, the passion they shared gets reignited. Eric, the selfless companion of the two, perfects their love triad and you can’t help but fall in love them all and the protected universe they have created for themselves. Even the grossly fallible Marston will find a place in your heart. Admittedly, I did a full-blown ugly cry at the end. For its beauty. And for the fact that the story was over before I could step into the pages to join them on their journey. It is the kind of book whose storyline will stick with you for years to come. Luckly, the author provides such a satisfying ending that I know they are in good hands.

The character development and turn-paging suspense, along with the steamy hot scenes, will make you squirm in your seat. It is an emotional, pleasurable read for anyone who loves differently – or loves those who do -- and who are looking for a place to call home.

Wow!

It was an intense read! I was waiting for this book for such a long time.

Alexander is the heart of Club Accendos. He is the savior, the confidant and the rock of so many people. But he needs someone to care for him. I waited so long to read about him finding love again. And I wasn't disappointed!

Rebecca, Alexander's long lost love, full of memory and secrets, would do anything to get him back. But they will need to reconnect. And then there is Eric. So sweet and smart Eric! The bridge between them. I loved meeting him. He's the perfect match. So selfless and so kind.

As usual Elizabeth SaFleur has outdone herself. I couldn't hope for a better story for Alexander. It's sweet and sexy and OMG the sex scenes! So hot, so intense! BDSM at it's finest. Scorching hot, exciting, arousing and still sweet and elegant. What I wouldn't do to spend some time with the amazing Alexander Rockingham.

I highly recommend this book and all the series.

Invincible is the last book in the Elite Doms of Washington series. All can be read as a standalone.

Elizabeth Safleur, ‘Invincible’.
An Elite Doms of Washington, book 6.

As an Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily promised an honest review. Here it is.

Rating: 3 (of 5 stars).

In general: A polyamorous BDSM triangle (MMF).

Main characters:
- Alexander Rockingham (60).
Now the wealthy owner of the luxury, exclusive BDSM club ‘Accendos’ in Washington D.C.
Forty years before he loved Charles Wynter and Rebecca Beaumont. They lived together in San Francisco. Charles got ill. His mother, Alice Wynter, forced him to go home to the East Coast where his society family lived on an impressive estate. There he died. Alice (who hated bi-sexuality) refused Alexander to say goodbye to Charles on his deathbed. She wrongly blamed Alexander for the death of her son and prevented Alex also from attending the funeral.
Alexander swore to buy the estate whenever he could do so.

- Rebecca Beaumont (57).
‘Becca’ was adopted by the Wynters when her parents died. When she was seventeen years old she was the lover of her bi-sexual friends Charles and Alexander.
After Charles’ death she was blackmailed to never see Alexander again. Under the pseudonym Anne Broadmoor she became an author writing about her travels around the world.

- Eric Morrison (48).
Art dealer, who is invited by his BDSM club friend Alexander to deal with all the art in the Wynter estate Alexander bought after the death of Charles’ mother. Eric secretly has a crush on Alexander.

After buying the Wynter estate from Charles’ elder brother (and heir after the death of Alice Wynter), Rebecca visits Charles’ grave for the last time; she meets - after 40 years - Alexander again and is introduced Eric, who makes an inventory of the art present in the estate.
Then the author, Elizabeth Safleur, describes with much insight how the three step by step fall in love. Building their love triangle is complicated: Alex and Becca incompletely processed the death of Charles, there are the wicked manipulations of Charles’ elder brother and the long separation between Alex and Becca for 40 years (for me difficult to believe that the wealthy, powerful Alex didn’t find her) impedes a new relationship. The author treats almost all these complications in a credible way. But finding pleasure through dominance over a partner or causing pain, however consensual, isn’t my cup of tea.
I don’t know enough of BDSM to give an opinion about how the author describes these scenes but I can imagine that those are interesting for the enthusiasts.

I think this is the first BDSM romance I’ve read where most of the main characters are my age (mid 60s), even the year I was born. So the AIDS tragedy and gay rights are part of the background of a story about a star-crossed love MMF triangle.

Our Dom is Alexander Rockingham, an exceedingly wealthy man who has created an international BDSM network, and whose Washington DC mansion is also a private club and sanctuary for people whose lives have been threatened for being themselves. He should know.

All three characters struggled with their insecurities as they navigated a relationship. There was something about Eric I didn’t trust or like. He had a near-obsession with Alexander and his focus and interest was always him. He’s in his 40s but it come across uncomfortably like he’s in his 20s. He was frequently jealous of Rebecca and I kept thinking he was going to manipulate their situation. Rebecca seemed all over the place and ready to bolt for most of the book. Then there was Alexander and his role as the conductor of the relationship. Most of the time he seemed unaware about Eric’s feelings for him. The majority of Alexander’s thoughts were only about how he wanted and needed Rebecca. Eric was more of an afterthought. By the end I wasn’t fully sold the relationship was going to have an equal dynamic for any of them.

What stood out the most for me was their ages. I spent a long time doing math trying to figure out how old they were if it’s been four decades, making Alexander and Rebecca early 60s and Eric late 40s. I just read another book where both characters were 50. It’s weird to say it’s unique but you don’t see it very often. As someone in her 40s, it’s becoming uncomfortable to read about an 18-24 year old heroine and the hero at least 10-20 years older. Although 60s felt a little old for this genre, it was a nice change.

2.75

A very rich and complex read

I truly liked this book. I do think that it rather lost its way somewhere in the middle, but it got back on track.

Very sensitive, could have used perhaps a little more exposition of the main characters personalities, but overall a very good read

What an emotionally charged story that will pull at your very heart and soul. At long last we get Alexander’s story, and what a story it is. I knew from just reading the prologue, that his story would be epic and I was right in every way. This story deserves so much more than just five stars. It takes you back in time to learn how Alexander came to be the man he is today and explains so much. Enter Rebecca, a woman he is completely enamored with and Eric, someone he wasn’t expecting. These three will take you on a journey of forbidden love, lust and so much more. But can they make a go of a relationship when someone from the past interferes? I loved the interactions of these characters. You could feel the angst, anger, sadness and happiness so much so that I felt like I knew these people personally. And it was also refreshing to read a story where the characters weren’t in their twenties and were more mature in age. You don’t find that very often and I thank the author for doing that. I can’t say enough that everyone should read this book. It is brilliant and amazing!

Invincible by Elizabeth SaFleur is the sixth book in the Elite Dons of Washington series and it was AMAZING!! Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I swear as the series continues, these books continue to get better and better. I actually think this one was my favorite! It was full of heartbreak, forgiveness, and so much love and acceptance.

Alexander has been king of the hill for quite some time. He is the master of all things. He is rich, successful and has the world at his fingertips- finally at last. What do they say about the past haunting you-well it’s done exactly that. Now he has a chance to get back at the person who hurt him. Trouble is, two people change it all-one from his past and one who he has never imagined wanting. Will he finally get what he’s always wanted?

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this book! It really was fantastic! Excellent writing, unforgettable characters, and a storyline that captured and held my attention throughout. I highly recommend reading this book!

What a way to end this fantastic series!! Elizabeth SaFleur writes hot & sexy stories with such class but don’t let it fool you, she likes to “go there” and does often!! Her characters jump off the pages , I often feel like I’ve gained a friend or two by the end of her stories. I know I miss them and think of them long after I’ve finished the book. This book is no different!!
This story is about love, a love that doesn’t fit in a neat box, that is a bit unconventional but love just the same. A man, powerful & Dominate, a man in love with the Dominant and a woman from his past when he was not so powerful. Can they love into the future?? Do they actual see what’s in front of them or are they too busy looking behind them. This story is not only about love but what we do to have it and keep it.
This story and all the books in this series is so very good, well worth your precious time & hard earned money!! Enjoy!

Omg this book is absolutely beautifully written By Elizabeth Safleur, This is her 6th book in the Elite Doms Of Washington and she does not disappoint. Alexander Rockingham is the owner of Club Accendos , who finds finds his long lost love from 40 yrs ago a much older and wiser Alexander let’s Rebecca into his life again but she has secrets from the past as well as he does. The is another character as in this book his name is Eric he has always loved Alexander But was to afraid to let him know. There is a lot of Hot sex in this book also the characters ages 60, 56 and 48 is another reason why I loved this book so much, you may get a little teary eyed when you learn certain things ( secrets) . I highly recommend this book I gave it 5 Stars, this is a stand-alone but a recommend you read all of her books

Elizabeth Safleur fans have long awaited Alexander's story and it was SO worth the wait. Invincible is dramatic, intense and filled with deep emotions both big and small. It deals with lost love, rekindled love, found love and last love. Forty years to plot, 40 years to plan, forty years to fulfill a promise, Alexander Rockingham finally gets satisfaction. But he's mired in the past and what might have been instead of living in the now and what could be. Rebecca Beaumont still reels from mistakes she made 40 years ago. Now she's back in Alexander's life she's not sure she fits in. Eric Morrison has yearned for Alexander for years and now he may have finally get at least some of what he wants but it may not be enough. What he didn't count on was Rebecca. Will he the glue that hold this threesome together?

There was melancholy, sadness, bitterness, poignancy and a love that spanned forty years as well as a new love in this remarkable story of Alexander. Secrets are exposed and so much of what drives Alexander is revealed. There are some unexpected twists and turns but the constant of love pulls them all through. This is a story full of hot sex but also a deep and abiding love, some, Alexander and Rebecca, for over 40 years, some as in Eric’s case unrequited until now, and some, Rebecca and Eric, very new, but in each case abiding and powerful. This is a story that will tug as your heart strings and bring tears to your eyes but they are not all sad and you will finish the book with a profound sense of completion.
