Tomorrow's Constant Hope

Rate this book
The last thing a woman on the run needs is to find herself married to the richest rancher in Texas…Keely O’Brien has spent the past five months on the run, but no matter what she does, she can’t seem to evade the ring of dangerous criminals that killed her brother in Chicago. When she spots an ad for a wife from the owner of a small ranch on a remote stretch of Texan desert, she knows she’s found the perfect hiding spot. The Wolf Point Ring might be searching far and wide for her, but they wouldn’t think to look in tiny, sun-scorched town of Twin Rivers, Texas. Now if she can just keep her new husband from finding out why she really married him…Agamemnon “Wes” Westin’s feet might be firmly planted in West Texas soil, but his heart is running… Running from the loss of his first wife and stillborn daughter, and running from the fear of suffering loss again. Unfortunately, he has little choice about needing to marry, but he does have a choice about who he marries. If he has to share his roof with someone, he wants a woman who works hard and doesn’t complain. That’s why he decides to run an ad for a bride, claiming that he owns a small ranch, rather than the sprawling cattle empire he inherited from his father. After all, what woman is going to be upset when she finds out her husband is one of the richest men in Texas? When Wes discovers Keely is hiding from criminals who want her dead, he can’t help but protect her—even if she’s irate with him for lying about the size of his ranch. When danger arrives in Twin Rivers, both Wes and Keely find themselves facing their deepest fears. Will they let their pain and past losses ruin their dreams? Or will Wes and Keely find a way to forge a new life together? From jagged mountains and green river valleys, to cattle ranches and vivid sunsets, Tomorrow’s Constant Hope offers a meaningful story about simpler times, sincere faith, and learning to love again after loss.

Naomi Rawlings is the author of historical Christian novels, including the Amazon bestselling Eagle Harbor Series. While she'd love to claim she spends her days huddled in front of her computer vigorously typing, in reality, she spends her time homeschooling, cleaning, picking up, and pretending like her house isn't in a constant state of chaos. She lives with her husband and three children in Michigan's rugged Upper Peninsula, along the southern shore of Lake Superior where they get 200 inches of snow every year, and where people still grow their own vegetables and cut down their own firewood--just like in the historical novels she writes.

Tomorrow’s Constant Hope was a wonderfully written marriage of convenience story. It had some great tension running through it’s pages. The first trouble comes from the revealing of the truth about why Keely married Wes. I loved the way this was handled. Her fear and nervousness about the situation seemed very realistic and Wes and his friends ended up handling this in a way that helped Keely understand more about who she married. It helped her gain some trust for these people. However, the new tension that grew revolved around the potential danger that could end up following Keely to her new town.

Keely and Wes had agreed to a marriage of convenience and it started off as simply an arrangement. However, feelings began to grow between them, yet Wes was unwilling to turn the marriage into a real one in every way. He carried around an overwhelming fear of loss, related to the death of his wife during childbirth and he was unwilling to risk Keely in that way. Keely was so sweet and understanding of his feelings, yet she couldn’t help the feelings of hurt and sadness that developed over what the two of them were missing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It can be enjoyed even if you haven’t read the first two books, however, I really liked getting to catch up with the characters from the earlier novels in this one.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is a book you don't want to miss. It's well written and has just the right amount of suspense and danger to keep you turning the pages. I loved how the author brought the book to life with her words, you felt like you were there. Even though this is book 3 in the Texas Promise series it can be read as a stand alone.

This has been my favorite book in the series so far! I listened to the audiobook, and the narration was absolutely perfect—it truly brought the story to life.

Keeley and Wes were made for each other. While their journey to becoming a couple was non-traditional, I loved watching their relationship grow and deepen over time. The plot kept me on my toes, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the character interactions. The writing beautifully transported me to the 1800s, set against the backdrop of a sprawling ranch.

This is a wonderful, clean story with Christian themes. Although I don’t typically read Christian fiction, I’m completely hooked now and can’t wait to finish the rest of the series!!!!

Agamemnon Weston Wes to all his friends feels like he must marry. Trouble is he doesn’t feel ready. Not after loosing his first wife in childbirth. Keely O’Brien must go some where that the man looking for proof of the smuggling ring will not find her. Marring a small town rancher is just the right thing or so she thinks. Until she finds out that her husband owns one of the largest ranches in all of Texas.

Will Wes be able to protect Keely or will he fail to give her what she needs? Can he learn it love again. Will Keely be able to be hidden on such a big rancher. What if she finish finds a home and a family to love her?

OK, so Naomi Rawlings is completely incapable of writing a bad story. Tomorrow’s Constant Hope is FABULOUS! I have loved every story by Rawlings, but it’s official, Tomorrow’s Constant Hope is my favorite to date. This book is SOOOOOOOO good! First, it’s just so well-crafted. The pacing is superb. I read this beautiful story in less than 24 hours. I was hooked from page one and simply could not put this book down. The setting is glorious. I live in the high desert in California, so I have a soft spot for desert settings. They really do have a beauty unlike any other place on earth, and Rawlings captures this perfectly in her book. Rawlings’s characters are also quite special. She has a wonderful way of creating heroes and heroines who get under the reader’s skin and worm their way into our hearts. I love Wes, and Keely is simply amazing. Both are totally endearing and relatable. And, the themes that Rawlings discusses in her novel are thoughtful and timely. All in all, Tomorrow’s Constant Hope is spectacular and I cannot recommend it enough.

Grief and trauma do terrible things to a person’s heart and psyche. They can make us utter vows we really have no business uttering. My heart hurt so deeply for Wes, the hero of this outstanding story. At the start of this novel, Wes is still reeling from the loss of his first wife and unborn child when he marries Keely. He is reeling so deeply that he marries Keely in name only. He swears he will never ever love a woman again, and he will never ever get a woman pregnant as long as he lives. To many, Wes’s vows appear completely over the top. I mean how can anyone stop the heart from loving? How can anyone predict what the future holds? We aren’t God, so how can Wes utter these silly vows with so much fervor and certainty?

My husband and I have actually walked a mile in Wes’s shoes. When we got married we wanted to get pregnant right away. I was 30 and he was 40. We weren’t spring chickens! So we got pregnant right away. Everything was going as planned until I reached the 6-month mark. Then things got bad. I got very sick, our daughter came three months early, I almost died the night of her birth, and she almost died three times over the course of 3 1/2 months. To say my husband and I were traumatized would be an understatement. We may have uttered oaths similar to Wes. It happens. We want so badly to control things, to protect those we love, to protect ourselves, that we say things we very much mean in the moment. Yes, we play God. We don’t mean to put ourselves in God’s place, but we do so while in the fog and haze of trauma and deep-seated fear.

It has taken my husband and me many, many years to actually place our trust in God and give our lives, and the life of our daughter, over to God completely. It’s not easy and we still have days where PTSD strikes and we say and do dumb things. We’re human! What I love so much about Tomorrow’s Constant Hope is how we get to see things through Wes’s perspective. We get to see WHY he feels the way he does. We get to see him wrestle with his trauma and his fears, and we get to see him work all this out with God and with Keely. I can personally attest that Wes is one of the most real heroes I’ve ever read. And, it is pretty cool to see myself and my husband reflected through this character. This book, in many ways, is an exceptionally cathartic read and I am very blessed to have read it.

As with all her novels, Tomorrow’s Constant Hope is absolutely phenomenal. It is a story I will never forget. If you are a fan of well-written, heart-gripping Western Romances filled with well-crafted characters and timely themes, then Tomorrow’s Constant Hope is the book for you!

***Recommendation*** Tomorrow’s Constant Hope can easily be read as a standalone novel; however, I personally feel that to get the best reading experience you should read Tomorrow’s First Light first.

I received a copy of this novel in eBook form from the author, Naomi Rawlings, in order to review. In no way has this influenced my review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

GOD WILL DELIVER YOU

Once again, in this new series, Ms. Naomi Rawlings has delivered another page-turning book, but each book can and will read well as a stand-alone. The story is a clean Christian story with Godly principles, human emotions, past troubles, new beginnings, and a future. The story is not preachy but does contain Bible passages.

The story’s plot will have a mail-order bride traveling to Texas to marry a man who placed an ad looking for a wife for the owner of a small ranch on a remote stretch of Texas desert; she knows she has found the perfect hiding spot. On the run from the ruthless Wolf Point Ring of Chicago, Illinois, she believes marrying a man with a small secluded ranch will keep her safe. But, the fact is, Agamemnon ‘Wes’ Westin is one of the largest and well-known ranchers in the state of Texas. Nora O’Leary has changed her name to Keely McBryan, and has been running and hiding for months now and hoping her trip to Texas will end her hiding. Wes is over pushy mama’s trying to entrap him into marrying their daughters, and he can’t wait to marry Keely to put an end to them.

“The sooner he got back to Twin Rivers, the sooner he could marry Keely McBryan. She would solve the biggest problem—the need for a wife. And he would solve hers—the need for food and a roof.”

“This was the first day of the rest of her life. She was determined to make it not just a good day, but a good life.”

What seemed like the answer, a marriage in name only leaves both Keely and Wes uncertain. The story has a woman fleeing for her life—fearing she will be captured, tortured, and killed like her brother and his fiancé. It will have her shocked at the small ranch, learning it is one of the largest in the state—this will never do, she needs to stay hidden. The relationship between Wes and Keely is riddled with secrets, inconsistency, doubts, and eventually leads to heartache. She wants love and a family—and he wants to avoid ever hurting again after losing his first wife during childbirth. But taking care of an abandoned baby proves to be more complicated than either one expected.

“You’re too afraid of losing her to let yourself love her. Did you ever stop to that that maybe instead of trying so hard to control everything around you, you just need to step back and let God handle things?” –Charlotte

The story does have the good, the bad, and the evil of people. Both Keely and Wes will face some trying moments—moments of life and death and redemption. I love how they not only quote scriptures but take them to heart. Sometimes, grief is overwhelming, as it has been for Wes, but he will learn that he isn’t in control; God is. He must learn to accept that bad things can happen to good people and that you can’t stop living, loving, and enjoying life because of it. In the end, we have no promises of tomorrow, so making the best of each day is what we should do.

“I might have come to Twin Rivers as a way to escape, but this is my home now. There’s not another place in the world I’d rather be.”

Keely has been on the run for months, ever since her brother disappeared after attempting to take information to the police about an opium smuggling ring - she has copies of the documents and is afraid the ring will be after her next. When she comes across an ad for a wife, she thinks Wes' 'small ranch' will be perfect to hide out on. Unfortunately, Wes has too much experience of being courted for his money and has chosen to hide his wealth from his new bride until it's too late. When she objects to his riches, it's clear there's something wrong, though he could never have guessed what. Will he be able to keep Keely safe from those she fears? Will the ring be destroyed at last? And can a marriage with such a rocky beginning ever end as a happily ever after?

This is the first book of this series I've read - hopefully sometime I'll be able to go back and read the earlier books, though this is fine read as a standalone. I enjoyed the growing relationship between Keely and Wes, as well as the glimpses of other characters who I assume are also part of the series (the focus of either previous or future books), and particularly the way Wes slowly learned to acknowledge and then overcome his fears. The suspense thread I found somewhat predictable, so I wouldn't suggest getting the book just for that, but I did find that I really enjoyed spending time with the characters. I hope to read more books in the series in the near future. An enjoyable, relatively light historical romance.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

As always, Naomi Rawlings tells a great tale! Book 3 in her Texas Promise series takes her readers back to Twin Rivers, Texas, where "Wes" Weston (his first name is Agamemnon. Who wouldn't go by Wes instead?) owns the "2nd biggest ranch in Texas." A target for money-hungry, status-grabbing young women who look at him and see dollar signs and beautiful dresses, Wes takes matters into his own hands and advertises for a mail-order bride.

Keely O'Brien arrives in Twin Rivers expecting to hide away on her new husband's tiny claim in the middle of nowhere. She's been running for 8 months from the men who killed her brother and who want her dead as well. She's stayed one step ahead by remaining vigilant, and by staying in the background. How in the world can she stay anonymous, though, when she has married a man known throughout the state, whose wedding is noteworthy enough to warrant PICTURES (of all things) in the local newspaper?

Wes expected his new wife to be thrilled to learn that he's more well-off than he had conveyed in his letters. Every other woman he'd encountered only wanted him for his wealth, so Keely's horrified reaction is unexpected. When he learns the truth of her fears, he sets out to protect her, while keeping his already broken heart under tight wraps. As he gets to know this smart, capable woman, though, his heart begins to come back to life. Can he keep Keely safe, even as outside forces close in?

I laughed as this book began at the lengths some women had gone to in order to "trap" Wes into marriage. Both incidents described were pretty hilarious, but then, the mystery, and other characters' stories weave into the mix, and the book becomes ultimately about having faith - in God to right the wrongs, in friends to have your back, and in love to be constant.

I absolutely recommend Tomorrow's Constant Hope, and if you haven't read the first two in the series, you're missing out!

Rawlings has delivered another page-turning book in this novel. I love the descriptions of her characters and also the terrain of the desert location. Our heroine Keely McBryan is a mail-order bride traveling to Texas to marry a man who placed an ad looking for a wife, in name only. Agamemnon ‘Wes’ Westin, is the owner of a small ranch on a remote stretch of Texas desert. Or so the ad states. Keely knows she has found the perfect hiding place and she can cease her running from the ones who want her dead. Wes knows he will be safe from designing females who are trying to trap him into marriage for his wealth. He has deceived Keely and she has deceived him. What a way to start a marriage! It doesn’t take Keely long to realize she wants love and a family. Wes wants to avoid ever hurting again after losing his first wife during childbirth. He cannot risk that torture again. Keely confesses why she wanted to marry him after she learns he has a very large ranch instead of the small one. Now he has an even greater task to keep his wife safe or maybe he can seek an annulment. There is danger, suspense and many twists and turns as the story unfolds. Always a thread of hope and trust in God to lead and guide them as to what direction to take. You will love the ending to this one. I highly recommend this one to those who love Christian fiction….I was given a copy from the author but not required to leave a review.

Naomi Rawlings has penned another deeply satisfying story with this new addition to her Texas Promise series. The premise caught my attention and my past enjoyment of Rawlings’s other tales had me turning the pages. The characters were realistic, layered, and engaging. Wes is a wonderful hero—courageous and capable, and Keely’s courage, determination, and grit make her the perfect partner if they can get beyond their pasts.

This book can be read as a standalone, but there are characters from previous books in the series that make appearances, so you may want to read the first two books first.

“Had he started trusting himself and his own decisions more than trusting God?”
“. . .trusting God meant more than just trusting Him when things were easy.”

With plenty of action, suspense, intrigue, and a dash of romance, combined with an underlying message of trust and hope, this story hits the spot. I recommend it to those who enjoy clean historic fiction with a faith thread.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

I love all of Naomi Rawlings books! The suspense, love, and faith keep me spellbound to the end! In Tomorrow’s Constant Hope we meet Wes again, the owner of the second largest spread in Texas. Wes finds a second wife - Keely; two people running from the past. Wes is running from the pain of losing his first wife and stillborn child; Keely is running for her life from the gang of criminals who killed her brother and won’t stop unto they see her dead, too. Is this marriage between two people deceiving each other right for them? Can Wes protect Keely? Will Keely forgive Wes for keeping from her just how large his ranch is snd how rich and important he is? Once again, a tale including previous and new characters whose lives intertwine under a story of suspense and love! Every word will keep you spellbound until the end.

This series Is a MUST read! Clean, wholesome romance. I was so excited to read Wes and Keely’s story! It’s a story of trust. I absolutely love this author! Naomi is my ABSOLUTE favorite. She always writes stories that are so realistic yet full of humor, romance, struggle and triumph. I love Wes and Keely’s interaction with each other.

I enjoy how the other characters from books past reappear. Also, the author is good at not writing the same story. What I mean is sometimes when I read series they will basically rewrite a book they already wrote. If that makes scene. But this book seems original yet it connects the other 2 books in the series together. I feel like I’m following the life journey of a friend. I’m absolutely looking forward to the next book in the series.

Author Naomi Rawlings has a great thing going with her Texas Promise series. Book three, Tomorrow’s Constant Hope, can be read as a standalone, but you will understand some of it better if you read the first two books in the series. Plus they’re really good and I recommend all of them.

A good western always has a damsel in distress and a cowboy hero. Wes and Keely are the best in these roles! Both are running from something and need each other in ways they don’t expect. With lots of twists and turns, this book keeps you guessing as to what is coming next. Wholesome and clean with a sweet romance, I highly recommend Tomorrow’s Constant Hope.

A Texas rancher finds love a second time with a girl on the run.

Loved being back in Texas again. Wes and Keely story was one of lies at first. But as they came together the truth came out. Wes past tried to take him down. Fear tried to keep Keely down. But with the help of their family and friend and God. Things turns around for the better. Wes became Keely protector. She totally fell in love with him. But he still held her off but as she broke down his walls he totally fell in love with her. So happy that Charlie and Daniel are expecting along with Sam and Ellie. Looking forward to reading Daniel, Harrison and Cain stories. Each cover shows the characters well. Will read more in this series.

Tomorrow's Constant Hope by Naomi Rawlings was an Intense Faith Journey!

Keely, the h, was running for her life, and looking for someplace to hideout, when she decided to answer an ad to marry a complete stranger.

Agamemnon Westin VI (Wes), the H, was afraid of any type of emotional connection, but he needed a wife to keep from being roped into a marriage that he didn't want.

I am so glad that God had a plan that was very different from both of their expectations.

This story made me smile, and cry, and I loved every minute of it.

Both characters were able to grow, and to trust God's plan for their lives.

This story is definitely worth reading!

I recently discovered author Naomi Rawlings, and I just adore her writing style. I appreciate the clean romance, and it's easy to connect to the main characters. There's vulnerable hearts, WITTY banter, heartache, love, and a realistic happily ever after.

I like that the relationships take time to build and are not love at first sight.

I recommend this series (I have read the first 3 in the series), and I look forward to diving into more books from this author.

I listened to the audiobook and love the voice actor, too. She makes the witty banter or the characters' thoughts so amusing! Well done!

Keely is trying to escape a group of outlaws because she knows too much. She decides to answer an ad for a wife in the newspaper. Turns out, the man owns the 2nd largest ranch in all of Texas, something he failed to mention. It is a business agreement and he has no romantic intentions on her, nor she on him. Until she begins to fall in love with him. Can she break free from her past, and can he get past losing his wife in childbirth to love another woman?
Very sweet romance with a little bit of danger thrown in for good measure.

I love this book by Naomi Rawlings! She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This is a sweet story with a powerful reminder that none of us is promised tomorrow. We cannot control the future. As Wes learns, we need to love those God places in our life, and be thankful for the time we have them. He is a powerful, loving God, and we can trust Him with our future and those we love. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

A great Christian series

These books are a mix of drama and romance. This is the third book in the series and another good read. I enjoyed the first two books more (5 stars for them) but that was only because I felt this book had a few too many parts where it spent a bit too long on setting up the story for the next book in the series. But if you hang in there it gets back on track. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Adventure and Love

The Texas Promise books have been so great with the friendship of five boys growing up and experiencing life together. Each individual story pulls you in more and Keely and Wes’ story did not disappoint. I am excited to keep reading and seeing where each man lands in life. These men, their family and friends keep appearing in each book which makes you feel apart of them.

quite nice read

This was an enjoyable read. It is well written by Naomi Rawlings. The life of a rancher is changed when his mail order bride shows up on an wanted poster. She is wanted for murder. When Kelly is asked about it she said she never murdered anyone and explains about the her brother working and uncovering illegal operation in the area. Wes does believe her and takes action to guard her. What happens them? A must read.

I love your imagination and the way you write. I'm so glad I found you among the many othe great authors. I am 80 years old and legally blind so having good Christian novels to read is very important to me and I believe a gift from our God.

I always love Ms Rawlings novels. This one was no exception! Keely's story of harrowing escape and Wes' story of grief and loss were weaved together in a beautiful redemptive love story. Enough adventure to keep me excited and enough depth of faith and character to keep my heart very satisfied! Looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

Keely and Wes's story was engaging and touching. As expected, they found love even though neither were looking for it, or even wanting it. I appreciate how the Texas Promise stories include the whole friend group and not just the couple that is the focus of the story. I am also still anxiously awaiting the resolution of the cattle rustling storyline.

More to the story?

I felt somewhat cheated at the end, but the main story was full of drama and suspense. The struggle with faith 8n God in spite of terrible loss was hard for both Wes and Keely. The epilogue was three months later and I'm dying to know if Ellie has had her baby yet! On to the next book!

I am loving this series. There are some things about it that I kind of have a problem with I guess. It seems like the legal system that is in play in this series seems a little too sophisticated for the time. I could be wrong I don't know what the legal system was like in that time. Period but it just Seems like that things that she talks about were more in line with modern times.
