Zikr is a compilation of long & short poetry on human experiences. Through those verses, we can know about the poet's passion for life, desire & despair. Every composition has its readers thinking of the many phases of life & it truly touches hearts. The Urdu calligraphy at the end of each page is mesmerizing. The glossary at the end aids in learning the Urdu words much better & in enjoying each term. I never anticipated some of the lines would touch my soul so enormously.

Like life has numerous implications, yet the primary sentiments are true to themselves & can be perceived by all people similarly.

Lastly, I would want to suggest this book to everyone to obtain harmony in the hustling & bustling of one's hard-working life.

One of the most treasured practices of the Sufi path is zikr, the remembrance of Allah. To be in unity with Allah is to be in a constant state of remembrance of the source of all creation. Similarly, the book also gives us such a vibe. From god to humanity, from love to pain, from the soul and send to spirituality, all different kinds of emotions and tests are captured on the cover of the book. It helps to travel and think about different parts of life. I also love the short calligraphy art by end of easy poetry. The language is also so simple.

When all will fades,/An the storms have passed/ You will sit by the window /And watch the rains. Like this, the poem touches on small incidents of our life. For me, I can relate this book to my own life. Like in so much. It never reminds me, that’s the first writing of the author. And She did an excellent job.
I would recommend poetic lovers to check this out once and I/m sure, everyone must like it.. Such is the magic of this book. Must and easy.

Zikr: A poetic incarnation
~ Husna

Zikr by Husna is a poetic incarnation. The book consist of about 150 long and short verses. I really loved the book and the overall presentation. The cover is really elegant and simple, the presentation of the versus are also done beautifully.

" Even the skies are envious
of the infiniteness
a Human heart can hold"

This is one of my favourite verse, thought it is a small one the meaning it holds is in abundance. Every verse is so meaningful and it will touch our soul. Some of the words are Arabic and they have provided a section for the glossary.

"My beautiful City!
Draped in
moonlight symphony;
How marvelous
yet lonely you seem."

This is one of the other verses which tops my list. The verses are about spiritual enlightenment, humanity, soul , god and so on. I am glad that I got a chance to read this book. I recommend this to all of you, do check it out.

‘Life’ is such a broad and vast array of so many distinct things, a word which carries divergent meaning, hence the experience of it is different for each and every single individual.

Zikr: An Anthology of Poetic Incantations is a collection of a varied range of verses, short and long alike, which shows us how life can feel like when we are we are having a hard time or struggling with any thing. But in addition to this, these poems be are also the ones who will act as a salve or a balm on the wound, especially a broken heart.

Nobody’s life is perfect and we all have our own battles that we have to face, but if it’s been particularly sharp and thorny lately, then sometimes the only option left there is that we can turn to a guiding point who can offer us peace. The author, via the book, has done an excellent work of putting that into the words, which we as a readers, just don’t have in us.

The verses which have been mentioned in the book serve as a reminder that whatever we do, we are not alone, and there is still beauty to be had—even if it’s just in the form of a perfect line of poetry.

This was such a soothing book to read and the poems depicted within definitely seem like they can act as, or help the readers to feel comforted, give them assurance that their inner tribulations will be heard, and act as a voice to whatever hurts or heals right now. I am going to give this book FIVE ZIKR STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Zikr a Poetic Incantation by Author Husna is a beautiful collection of Poetries that relate to Sufi background and a spiritual connection.

There are 150 long and short verses that beautifully revolve around various emotions of Deep Love, Sacrifice, Soul and different beautiful elements that one could think off writing about.

Along with the verses there ar beautiful illustrations in Urdu that are so well designed relating to each verse.
Also the beautiful cover is perfect reflection of the content within.

I have read many poetry books but this one gave me a very unique experience with a hint of Sufi and Urdu language.

One such verse that touched my heart is as follows-

"The thousand wars in you;
No Love can redeem"

I'll definitely recommend this one to readers who love poetries and want a new and different experience.

Book Review ✨

Zikr by Husna
⭐⭐⭐.5/5

Zikr is a collection of short poems written in a spiritual and Sufi way. Hence, the book is written in an impressive format with illustrations. All the poems were soothing and gave a relaxing feel.

The author talked about freedom, identity, our miseries, and gives hope to anyone who is reading it.

Some of my favourites are

✨The rain always leaves behind
Fragments of things to remember.

✨ Perhaps the places that we navigate
aren't the ones we are meant to be.

✨No matter the despair,
We are all doomed
to remain in the minefield
Of our comfort zones.

And again, the illustrations in each page of the book made the poems lively and were perfect for the words penned by the author.

Zikr is a collection of long and short verses.
These verses are written in Sufi style and seem more like heartfelt prayers than poems.
.
The poems are very beautifully written and gives a sense of peace while reading.
I love how all the poems are accompanied by illustration which are made in calligraphy form which are different incantations used during prayers.
.
Some of my favourite lines from the book are -
' There is a voice, buried deep
between breath and vibration,
struggling to be discerned.
Woman/Warrior/Saint/Sinner;
Claim it.
It's yours.
Undeniably.'

'Perhaps we are all islands in the sea.
Fated, forever
to be remote and desolate.'

This is my first book from this author and I'm glad that I picked it up. Zikr means a repeated utterance of God's name to find inner peace and enlightenment. This book by Husna is a small step towards finding it. The book is an Anthology of verses written beautifully in poetic form.

The poems or verses range from God, soul, love , Humanity, to spirituality apart from others. Though the verses are short , it runs deep in meaning, and one can relate to it instantly. I personally had a different feeling after reading this book. Different incantations used in prayers have been included on each page in the form of calligraphic art. This is something that is not only innovative but interesting as well. But I feel the author should have included meanings or translations to these incantations so that non Muslim readers could understand .

Overall a refreshing read

"What are we,except
passing supernovas in the sky?"

Zikr a poetic incantation by Husna is a poetry book based on spiritual embodiments. The book has beautiful stanzas with illustrations signifying symbols of prayers and other motifs.

We long for happiness but our path is ridden with sorrows. Some of us feel "Fated, forever to be remote and desolate."

The verses are uniquely portrayed with deep meaning. It gives us a ray of hope in our pursuit of joy.

➡️Some poems are short like 4 lines, some are lengthy with varying depth of poetic expression
➡️The poems are not arranged in any order. I would like to appreciate if the meaning of some words were given in the same page to understand better
➡️ These poems relive spiritual thinking

▶️The book has wonderfully brought out the essence of poetry with Urdu style

I liked the theme of the book very much. The cover gives hint of something spiritual. The overall binding of the book is excellent. Recommend to all for reading.

Some poems are in short verses while some r in long. The poem focus on 4 things identity, humanity, love, and spiritual enlightenment.

I really like some of the poems, while I can't understand some poems due to islamic words. Some poems lacks rhythm too. The cover is very simple but it's really good. Some poems really touches me. One of them is this :

For the longest time Rumi was my favourite Sufi poet. He's funny, daring at times, and never failed to make me feel peaceful when reading his wise words. Well, here we're talking about poet Husna and her poetry book Zikr. She is funny, daring, and makes you feel happy while reading her poetry.

If words were liquid, reading Husna's poetry would be the closest thing to drinking joy. Her poems are simply intoxicating. They go down easy. They will set you abuzz with both the celestially divine and mischievously mundane that hover all around you, unbeknownst to you. For but a brief moment her words will cover you with their puckish wit and solace, leaving you flush and aglow.

The poems in Zikr are wonderfully imaginative and outright readable. They can make the hardest of hearts smile and appreciate words. But that doesn’t mean these poems are only for beginners or the unacquainted. Like anything written well, it’s harder to write something short and great than long and great. To distill what one wants to say down to it’s essence is very difficult. Here Husna is the master. She buries treasure in plain sight.

The most recurring themes in this poetry book Zikr include love, tolerance, forgiveness and God. Most of the poems speak of love and metaphors for God abound throughout her verses. The reader, whether spiritual or not, may be delighted by her habit of speaking of, or to, God in a way that you can't stop thinking about and will provide new ways of perceiving complex spiritual subjects. Although the poems are rather short, they may be best enjoyed by being read over a few times, in order to truly absorb the beauty of the imagery and metaphors used. The poems may also have a relaxing effect, which could render this an appropriate bedtime read.

It’s incredibly challenging to define Husna's verses. Her poems, similar to sonnets in length and impact, go beyond poetry or any other artistic expression. They raise up to an unusual blend of undiluted spirituality, mystical philosophy and scholarly theology. Her work transcends the barriers of language, culture and even religion. Love is the indisputable protagonist in Husna’s lyrical meditations, a kind of love that is all-embracing and doesn’t limit itself with categorizations.

Reading Zikr by Husna is a formidable experience. Her effusive verses inebriated me, such abundance of feeling that made my head spin, my heart race. Her passion and abundance can even be overwhelming as there is so much wisdom and intensity in stanzas that it’s sometimes challenging to absorb the depth of their meaning. Husna is dizzyingly creative, but at the same time she repeats herself, and certain imagery such as stars, moons, birds and flowers are ever-present in her extensive oeuvre, and so reading her verses in a row might assimilate to a trance experience.

Amidst such an exuberance of lyrical mystery and universal love, what I will most remember of this collection is Husna’s humble exaltation of the present moment and her capacity to find something to love, something divine in every particle of the universe, even in silences, which express what can’t be articulated in words. When you read this poetry book 'Zikr' by Husna, a sudden mystical fog wraps you and teleports you to places unknown; places where you long to go. This book gives you the most basic ideas of life with subtle hints and hard hitting thoughts. You might disagree with poet Husna on certain points, but never you'll discard her musings all together; as her expression is so beautiful that it is impossible not to admire. Indeed, it is "Poetic Incantation".

Zikr : a poetic incantation is a beautiful and soulful poetry collection that will quench your thirst of reading a well - written poetry collection. In the current times, when poetry is losing its charm and becoming more and more like quotes without any real depth, this poetry collection will make you believe that there are still poets and poetesses out there who not only know what real poetry means but can also showcase it beautifully and present it to poetry lovers to love and cherish.

Right from the title to the very end, this book is a work of art. For the Sufis and Muslims, Zikr is a way of life to reach spiritual enlightenment and oneness with the divine. In the traditional sense, a Zikr is the repeated utterance of a phrase or a name in the remembrance of God. There couldn't have been a better title, if you have read Rumi, you know the Beloved was his muse and you can see a little reflection of that in some of the poems.

There are diverse themes but the dominant ones are ephemarlity, solace, muse, love and life in general. There are both long and short verses. I loved the entire poetry collection and it is tough for me to pick a few favorites from this book. If you are a poetry lover, you will enjoy reading it and you will devour it in a short amount of time.

🙂 Those beautiful calligraphy drawn in each poem is quite eye catching & adds an extra crunch to the reading experience.

Have you ever imagined entering a city after a large scale destruction??
Where people loose their loved ones.
Cause maybe man-made or a natural one.
Well the beginning of this book shall make you feel so.. Completely broken and shattered by the cruel world..A book of poetic incantations and verses that shall call you to achieve solace in being alone..What happens when you feel your surrounding is destroyed??..
You look for hope and try forgetting your old relations and try making attempts to get along with people you see.. You crave for love, from god or a lover..or maybe both in one??.
Well this is exactly what poetic verses in the next part of the book revolves around. It describes the natural calamities, the seasons, the sun and the starts.Almost everything under the sky.
The language isn't that easy, sometimes i felt like they were plain lines and sometimes i felt it is too much for me to grasp completely.Basically the pages were filled with verses which spoke of torment, love, patriotism, solitude, confidence, hope,a bit of religion and much more.I had really thought that this book will have lots of emotional and spiritual talk. But i was wrong.
Two of my favourites among these were:

𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙨 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙩.
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙣𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙯𝙚, 𝙈𝙮 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.
𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙢𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙄 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙜𝙤.
.
𝙈𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮!
𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣
𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙨𝙮𝙢𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙮;
𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙮𝙚𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙢.
.
.
Though there are many arabic calligraphic scriptures at the bottom part of every page.. i couldn't find any relationship between the verses and the calligraphy at the bottom.because those scriptures had something to do with religion but the poetic incantations were rarely connected with religion.Neverthless they are beautiful and appreciable.

I completed a wonderful book and I felt this shouldn't be an end, it has been so engrossing and loved each word of this excellent masterpiece. "Zikr - An Anthology of Poetic Incantation" by Husna is the florilegium of poems inked with spirituality and wisdom.

Poems within this book focus on poet's contemplation over worldly phenomena, nature in its beauty and ruins, spirituality, life philosophies, afflicted souls, compassion and afflictions, Existence and identity, transformation. Most of them like as scattered precious pearls of Misbaha, reciprocated boon for devotion towards Almighty. Each Poems is much profound and so enlightening to one's soul, some of them sound like they are singing our soul's songs suppressed forever. I genuinely felt them wholly spiritual as the last couples of poems were intensely ethereal like a prayer - devotees' longing to merge into almighty. Each part of this book is so graceful from title to coverpage, title Zikr itself defines the repeated utterance of God and oneness with the divine & coverpage depicts sufi darvesh in his devotional trance that reminds one Mevlana Rumi, can be said poetry was inclined the way of Sufism.

"We are all stars, desperately seeking constellations to complete us."

Words are simple but altogether give profound meaning, poetry has that calibre to alter the words and its interpretation and say lot within a couple of words or a line.

Moreover I love the format, contents are set precisely and those calligraphic image at bottom are as part of prayer enhances the grace of the book. I appreciate poet for her great efforts for such wonderful book. It definitely stands for recommendations. Do not miss it, readers.

If I weave you
Into a verse,
Etangled in metaphors,
Would you hold it against me?
.
"A Zikr is a way of life to reach spiritual enlightment and oneness with the divine. In the traditional sense, a Zikr is the repeated utterance of a phrase or a name in the remembrance of God."

🔸️There are myriad of thoughts and feelings for every instance of your life, every little thing that happen in and around you, and for every person that we meet and heared about. These, in some or the other way affects us knowing and unknowingly. But not everyone is blessed to have creatively put them into beautiful verses as Husna.
🔸️Zikr, a poetic incantation by her is one such book of profound and thoughtful compilation of metaphors based on life, love and longing, aloofness, spirituality, moments and memories, and so many different aspects. These compositions range from two lines to several stanzas of author's vivid imagination. It will take your mind to roam in the world of both bliss and sorrow, & soulfulness and brutality.
🔸️I was delighted going through each of the pages, not only for the poems, but also for those beautifully crafted Arabic fonts at the end of each page. Arabic has one of the most flexible fonts and scripts that can create beautiful graphics out of it. I appreciate the author's efforts for bringing such a gem to us. I was re-reading the poetries with even a slower pace to get the maximum of it. Because these deserve all the applauds for being so relatable yet creating an standard on this genre.
Free style writing and mastering the words to weave such impactful phrases was one of the dominant features of this book.
Poetry lovers, you simply cannot miss this book.

For the Sufis and Muslims, Zikr is a way of life to reach spiritual enlightenment and oneness with the divine. Zikr in simple terms means the repeated utterance of a phrase or a name in the remembrance of God.
The book 'Zikr' by Husna is a collection of short and long verses. The author has poetically mentioned the broken cities and paths and the connections and emotions we shared with them. Her poetries are about prayers, abandoned homeland, the silence of the night, chaos in cities, the illusion of perception. The author wrote about the depth of soul, feelings and human nature.
The poetries are extremely beautiful. The author's writing style is very elegant and the depth of her words are very lively and soulful.
.....🌷
When you speak of loss,
Of defeat and despair,
Of a moment that is yet to arrive;
In your mind
it has already manifested.
It is only a matter of time
before the time wrap:
between word and action,
This Zaman
is materialised.
.....🌷
While reading the poetries I could feel the emotions and essence that she tried to impart through her words. I finished reading this book within two sittings and I preferred to read at a slow pace to feel the depth of her poetry. I love the origin of the title for this book which is very much thoughtful. The cover is simple and subtle.
If you are someone who loves poetries then you can check out this book.

🌠I am more than
the colour of my skin,
parched by the sun,
Or the lustre of my hair.
I am more than the downcast eyes
From a stranger's gaze.
I m a language
So incoherent
In an echo chamber,
Of form over essence.
I m a soul that languishes
Un-nurtured,
In silent despair.🌠
✨Zikr is a compilation with sufi and islamic cultures poems about life, love, relationship, spirituality and humanity. It is a poetic invocation of the beloved, central muse. Muse, in the poet's perspective, is the human experience.

✨Every verse tells a different story with different feelings and emotions buried deep in the trap of words. Words, are always good to express what you are feeling for and this book have this little impact on how to express them beautifully with eunoia.

✨The book was attractive from the start. Every page has it's uniqueness with short verses and little urdu incantations at the bottom of every page.

✨I loved how the emotions were left at the edge with 2 line poems which were written with love and melancholia. Although the language might seem a little tough for the beginners, but it still is so mesmerizing reading these peoms. It kind of felt like a nirvana in words.

✨The book is recommended to all poetry lovers. You won't be able to help yourself but feel emotions reading these poems.

"Dear Soul,
Do not despair
as you enter
the city of catastrophe.
A Sufi is grateful
for his blessings,
and steadfast in his trials"

Book: Zikr: An Anthology of Poetic Incantations
Author: Husna

Book Description: “Zikr” is a collection of long and short verses. It is a poetic invocation of the beloved, the central muse. The muse, in the poet’s perspective, is the human experience. It exists, therefore, as much in the dew of rain as in a lover’s gaze. Every verse tells its own story, a deep love of life, longing and melancholia. It draws indomitable inspiration from the human condition.

Review: Zikr is a compilation of poems and verses that revolve around faith, love, god- basically the spirituality genre. The poems are so short, not that I am complaining, I love short poems but it amazed me how each sentence carried it's own symbolism and meaning(s) [yes, some poems were deep enough to have more than one meaning]

I'd give this one a four because being a non muslim reader I didn't understand what the incarnations were though researching on them was so much fun.

The thing I loved the most about it is, it isn't set very much in the modern era of Instagram and just love between two people and betryal. I have read so many poetry books that goes as deep as this one. It's unique to the core and in short, a beautiful collection.

🍁Zikr is a way of life to reach spiritual enlightenment and oneness with divine.

🌸This book is a ponderous collection of stunning poetry that you can easily get lost in.The poems range from God to religion to motherland to loneliness and to Ruh(soul).I loved the abundance of calligraphic images that was a consistent theme throughout. It worked really well with the structure of this collection.

🌼For example,in the poem 'My Noor' it is God who is mentioned as a guide with bismillah mentioned in calligraphic style.

🌸Husna effectively constructs verse that mimics the mood of her poems. In one if her poems she uses seasons to depict change but also structures each stanza in such a way that emulates our resistance to change as human. You could definitely tell that every sentence was carefully placed and had a clear sense of purpose.

🌸Zikr is an impressive collection that develops such themes as love, strength, loss and so much more. It also felt like a personal, embodied work, reminiscent about life, both the highs and lows. I thought it
was a joy to read.

🍁My favorite lines:
If we could bottle memories like perfume,
We'd open each moment
infused with different scents,
to relive them once more.

Book Name: Zikr

Author: Husna

Genre: Poetry

"When you speak of loss,
Of defeat and despair,
Of a moment that is yet to arrive;
In your mind
it has already manifested.
It is only a matter of time
before the time wrap:
between word and action,
This Zaman
is materialised."

Wanna read more such verses??? Then go and quickly grab your copy of "Zikr: A Poetic Incantation" by Husna. Zikr is a compilation of long and short stanzas holding profound connotations revolving around God, humanity, love, identity, pain, soul, and spirituality. At the end of every verse, there is a beautiful calligraphy art given which I suppose is used in prayers. Hailing from a non-Islamic background, I could not decipher the meaning of the calligraphy, but I can deduce that they are used while reciting prayers. This anthology will refresh your mind and will be with you for a long time. I would recommend poetic lovers to check this out once, as once you started reading this anthology, they will live with you forever. Such is the magic of this book. Go for it, poetic lovers.

"Between forgetting and remembering,
Seen and the unseen,
I live and die
A thousand times."

It’s a collection of long and short verses. So it’s a short read that can be read in an hour so I will keep my reviews to the point to avoid spoilers. As the title and blurb suggests, the concept of most verses have sufi touch. I loved that. And the verse “Ruh” means “Dear soul” was my most favourite. That one is mentioned in blurb so I won’t mention lines here. Another one of my favourite is “Watan”. The verses are based on divinity, vision, human experience, soul, etc. Most of verses have philosophical touch and I liked that. It makes the words directly connects with our soul. Author has chosen each word carefully before penning it down. The verses are short yet impactful. So hats off to the author. I got to learn few new words. I enjoyed reading it to much that I didn’t want it to end. I liked the sentences used as “Sab moh maya he”. Author has also explained the meaning of the verse “Ruh” in blurb thay shows how deep and impactful thinking author has behind the each verses. Overall good one. I enjoyed reading it. Here I would like to share few lines that are my favourite that will give you idea about the book.

“In a heart of a Sufi,
Every prayer is music,
and every devotion, soul dance.”

“The thousand wars in you;
No one can redeem.”

Zikr is a colllection of poems which highlights about life, love, relationship with God, inner peace, spirtual and emotional bond with God.
All the poems have a beautiful meaning they are short and meaningful. The other attractive things is the beautiful incarnation after every poem, some in urdu some in Arabic all are mesmerising to one soul.

The meaning of zikr is remembering Almighty Allah by humming his name's again and again.
The poems mostly cover about the zikr of God and how one build up his relations with the God.

Coming to the cover and title of the book.
The cover shows a sufi dancing this reflect what the title is Zikr, the sufi's danced to remember Allah

Narration:
Narration has a deep meaning in itself, every poem is about something new spirtual relations, inner peace with God
Some verses from the book which I loved:

Everything lasts
for a season,
A reason.
A beautiful meaning in just 3 lines

If we could
bottle memories like perfume
We'd open each moment
Infused with different scents
To relive them once more.
.
There are many many such beautiful lines that I loved

Such beautiful meaning in just 3-4 lines

Overall this was a calm read for me
Really finding my inner peace!
Loved it

Self-soothing is a word I'd choose to define the book. I gathered some strength to read after a long time. October wasn’t that great in terms of reading. Hence this book. To make the Autumn air around pretty light & bright; to make the feels as eternal as muses. Zikr indeed inspired me so much. This gives you different meanings for distinct reasons.

The writing and theme of these verses are particularly ranged from love to life, despair to peace, by recreating the depths of the human minds that are exclusively Sufi-shaded. This book will help liberate yourself from the burning thoughts inside and thus allow you to open your mind & heart. And the calligraphic art on every page is truly a masterpiece. In short, Reading this was like growing seeds from the forlorn fragments of memories. The significance and the pep the author quartered in the stanzas are evocative and calming. Trust me! Good poetry has always been my way of healing, and this serves as one to read and relish.

One poem I found remarkable is
Life,
identity,
nationhood,
circumstance;
the utter hopelessness of it all.

Because I love how well the above poem captures the restricted development/flow and controlled freedom in it.

Don't provoke my storm
languishing in seas,
Mountains and skies;
The one you can't subdue.💫

"Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words." I believe only poetic words can calm our restless soul.
Reading something like this was a total bliss.
"Zikr",works on your soul, giving a perfect peculiar vibe. The words kinda makes you feel at ease.

Nevermind, coming to the book,it is an anthology of short and long verses, but unlike other poetry books,in this book the author has tried to give a sufi touch in her words, which feels really powerful.

The book talks about ruh (soul),divine and other human experiences like love and longings too. Every verse has a different story to tell.
I am glad I found something like this.
Not just the idea of something like this, but the writer style of the author is quite unique too.

The cover is in black, which makes me wonder why the author has choosen black for something which gives nothing but pure peace and hope.
Is it a riddle which I cannot figure out, hope she answers...

A total five star read from my side.
If you want to experience something interesting and unique, please grab it,I bet you won't regret.
I personally gifted it to my best friend on her birthday, and she loved it.

“I am more than
the colour of my skin,
parched by the sun,
Or the lustre of my hair.
I am more than the downcast eyes
from a stranger’s gaze.
I am a language
so incoherent
in an echo chamber,
of form over essence.
I am the soul that languishes
Un-nurtured,
in silent despair.”

From the cover can you guess what the book is all about? See the title - does the word sounds something new? ‘Zikr’ is a spiritual chanting devoting to Allah. It is repeated in a beautiful rhythm so that the devotees would get absorbed in the thoughts of the Supreme power.

This book too includes some beautiful verses that absorb you in. They are serene and soothing lines that can wipe out all your inner conflicts and refresh your thoughts. Most of the poems are short but are well-knit to convey deep meanings.

There are some illustrations and Arabic calligraphies imprinted on each page that adds up the divinity of the verses. Also, the glossary would help the readers to find out the meanings of the few Arabic terms used in the book.

Overall, is a collection of some divine poems that I would love to recommend to poetry lovers and spiritual disciples.

“Zikr” is a word that has a much stronger meaning than it looks from outside, “Zikr” is like remembering Allah, the almighty. As God resides in everything you truly love, you can find him in love, separation, your homeland, your soul, and every part of your boundless emotion.

This book is a collection of long and short verses and beautifully covered the Sufi incantation from start to bottom, from finding life from a newborn tulip till the separation with the dew of rain.

Perhaps, the clouds
Never really intended
To usher the storm.

They danced around,
Like they often do
In symphonic rhythm,
While the cool air
Played catalyst.

And then, this surrender,
This celestial intercourse
That nourishes earth,
As it does the
Inexplicable skies.

These Sufi Verses have a different charm altogether and it might be possible that most of them will hit your hidden chords unintentionally. Every single syllable has a different meaning and makes a new memory every time you enchant them.

Cover truly signifies what lies inside the book, which is a soul of a true Tasawwuf and how light and shadow whisper secrets to each other.

Poems are a great way to express humanity, love and compassion between all of us. The small lines yet very meaningful drives our heart with love and imprints a clear understanding between our brothers and sisters.

Zikr is a book which is full of poems written by author Husna. In this book, there are poems which relate to us, the humanity inside us, the love for our brothers and sisters, and peace and harmony among us. This book is full of teachings of humanity and what Allah, the Almighty commanded us. This book also has a glossary with which we can get to know the meaning of some Islamic terms and what message they convey. It also represents glimpses of certain prayers which we use in our daily prayers. This book connects our soul with it and bring peace in our heart as well as easiness. One can collect useful information by reading these poems.

It was a nice read for me. If you are also looking for a peaceful read and heart touching experience, then this is the best book for you. The language was understandable. The cover of the book was good as it is inscripted with a pencil art. I loved reading it.
