Oh this was such a great start to new series. Omg I am hooked!! Getting the Rapunzel vibe with this one. Which is fantastic since I absolutely love Rapunzel. Storyline is phenomenal. Oh heads up does end on a cliffhanger. Which almost made me throw my kindle. But I so need the next story now. I have so many questions. Also I love these characters. I’m thinking Markus is my all time favorite character. Absolutely love Rayne also. She is also fantastic. No spoilers here. But this is definitely my new favorite story. Definitely a must read!!!

This is a spicy why choose fantasy romance based on my favourite fairytale Rapunzle and I loved the little references to Tangled. It has a curvy FMC with her human childhood friend on the run who band together with three sexy shifters - a wolf and twin bears - all vying for her heart and body. It is told in multiple POV and gives us insight into the main characters thoughts and feelings through the story so be prepared for some themes around mental health, but I would like to say that it is very well written. The spice is hot and includes MF, MFM and briefly MM in this book but I am looking forward to the possible pairings in the next book. It is a duet so does end on a cliffhanger and it really does leave you hanging, book two can't come quick enough.

Love this Rupunzel retelling!

I was a little lost at the begining of this book but that is testiment to Raven's ability as a writer! Without even realsing it, until later that is, that I was feeling lost because the FMC was feel lost.

Here are the big ticket items for me for why I thourgherly enjoyed this book:
1. FMC is a full figured young woman
2. the relationships with her men are realistice, no falling straight in love with no issues, there are teething (pun intended lol) issues that are unique with each person that has to be worked through.
3. the relationships don't all happen at once, they each develope on their own timeline
4. there are several stories that are interwoven with each other eg the individual story lines between FMC and her mates as each of their relationships develope, the stories from each of thier pasts and the story that they are travelling on together to find a safe palace

Only downside is massive clifthanger. There was no warning, it just smacks you in the face and leaves you with your mouth gaping open like a fish with so much to say but can't manage a single word except WTF!!!

This was a book bingo read for me, and if I’m being totally honest if I had known it was a rejected mates/super angsty read I would’ve skipped it. I just don’t have the stomach for the whole rejection thing, even when they make up later. The apologies in this case were decent, and the FMC doesn’t immediately declare she loves him which was nice, but I want my love stories to be love stories with external conflict, not conflict between the people that are supposed to be mates.

The external conflict in this one is pretty steep too. I like the idea of a Rapunzel/Tangled retelling, but the mother & her lackeys are truly heinous. And of course because this is a duet, the book ends on a massive cliffhanger. There’s also something going on with Aiden that keeps being hinted about that makes me super uneasy about reading the second one. I might download it and skip to the end for the HEA and make up my own middle part.

The writing is good, don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t have such a strong reaction if it wasn’t. But it’s not my kind of read.

This needs more stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love fairytale retellings and this is definitely one of the better ones out there. This is a Rapunzel retelling and it keeps all the basics of the story intact but adds new twists I wouldn’t have thought would work but it works so well. This story is so intriguing and the depth of the characters and storyline draws you in and you will not want to stop reading. I love a good RH book and this one is perfect. I wanted Rayne to get all her guys right away but they all have pasta that make them hesitant. I love how you get to see the anxiety stress and depression as well as other mental issues the characters are going through. It’s amazing how the author was able to incorporate so many things into this book. This will give you all the feels. I love when a book can make you feel so many emotions. I can’t wait for the next book. Such an I tense ending.

I'm going through a bit of a Disney re-telling binge and was accepted onto the ARC team for Untamed.

Untamed is a re-telling of Rapunzel (Tangled) but with a grown up RH/why-choose, fated mates twist.

I have highlighted so many paragraphs in this book; the depth of character and the way they can capture your thoughts and feelings is mesmerising.

In many books you get to see the inner monologue of the character. In this book you also get the self-deprecating anxieties creeping in, influencing the thoughts and actions in exactly the same way as they would for the reader - which is not a common exploration in fantasy/PNR fiction (as often the characters have strengths/powers they use to mask their insecurities).

I received a free advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Such an amazing story. This story is a retelling that I throughly enjoyed. It is unique and interesting. It drew me in and kept me glued to it. I really love Rayne. Although she has been through a lot she still is loving and caring as well as extremely protective of those she cares about. Ryder, Zachary, and Markus have different emotions. Honestly I would put Zachary and Aidan in the Sam category as they are both kind, caring, strong and protective. Ryder and Markus have the potential but are grumpy jerks at time. However, as the story progresses you grow to love them all in their amazing ways. This story is magnificent as it is extremely well written and developed. It is definitely a must read and it will not disappoint.

Fantasy world you want to live in

It's been a long time since I've read an Rh book, getting this one as an ARC was by far the right choice. The story line was amazing, the characters were phenomenal, and I would live there if I could. But not in the Tower. The retelling of Rapunzel was great, with the magic hair and shifters I loved more than anyone. I'm only a little bummed that there is a book 2, but only to say I'm excited that there is a book 2. To find out what happens and pray Rayne gets all her men back. And for some reason I hope the wolf that followed her in the beginning is truly her father and comes to her in the end. Just saying.

This is a Rapunzel-inspired story with a curvy FMC, 4 hot men, and spice, and twists and turns. Rayne has been locked in the tower by her mother for years. When an old friend finds her and helps her escape, her whole world ends up being turned upside down. The guys are pretty instantly attracted/in love, but the relationships do develop at individually as the characters grew. The guys each have some things in their backgrounds and I love that we have multiple POV, so we get to see the characters dealing with their insecurities and growing together. The ending is a definite cliffy, so hopefully we get book 2 soon!

Untamed is a refreshingly different and definitely way more adult version of the Rapunzel story. Locked away in a tower by her mother for 5 years Rayne (FMC) gets a taste of freedom and with that secrets about her life surface. For me its the men around her with all of their anxieties and backstories that kept me gripped in this book. Action packed, fast paced with plenty of steamy hot scenarios. It keeps you on toes and that cliffhanger ending was epic!! I cant wait for the next book now because this one was a cracking read

Raven James is a wonderful author. I was lucky enough to be on her Beta team for this book, Amazing.... Rayne (sexy, chunky, beautiful, sad, Repunzel retold.) Her background is tragically sad, Aiden, Ryder, Marcus, and Zachary all have heartbreaking stories as well. It's sweet, sexy, steamy, with lots of action, lots of curves, and bumps in the road. Each background, every pain they feel you feel it with them. Well if you have a heart like mine. I will be biting my nails for Ryder untill book two gets here.

While this book was a spin on the classic story of rapunzle it stands on it’s own two feet and becomes something’s completely different. Raven James crafts a whole new world for us to slowly explore and discover in this book while we get to know our guys and learn more about the main character and what she’s capable of. I really enjoyed this story and it’s definitely a great start to a series that leaves you wanting more (that cliffhanger!!). Highly recommend to anyone looking for something a little bit different from your typical fairytale retelling or normal RH!

Brilliant read. love this half of the duet. Could not put it down.
Rayne has been kept from the world for 5 long years. kept from those she loves for a simple mistake. For something she could not control.
But beyond the tower many beasts call out to Rayne. calling her home. She is finally set free. But freedom comes with a price and she has to defend her newfound home with all she has.
Brilliant read. Cant wait for the next.

A poignant story of broken souls finding their missing pieces. An Elegant and dirty retelling of a classic tale of Rapunzel. It's so good you'll need a hand recovering. 😉
