Gemma never wanted any of this. Not the target on her back, not this incessant fear for her life, along with the simultaneous fear of being alive. Not having to evade a relentless government feigning benevolence to the remaining world. Not being made the face of a revolution she accidentally stumbled into.
And just as everything is crumbling down around her, she's wrenched from the only place that feels something like home, and she finds herself confronted by a set of strangers who claim to have saved her life.
But how could she possibly trust them, when all she has ever known is betrayal?
Gabriella is a newly graduated college student with a passion for reading. After being sucked into many different worlds and whirlwind romances, she decided to try her hand at creating her own.
Gabriella’s writing has once again totally charmed me. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The world building was done in an informative yet not boring way. Gemma and Cas were complex characters that felt fully rounded. The plot twists and secrets caught me off guard yet at times felt a bit rushed, particularly Addy’s death scene. The interactions between Gemma, Cas and Addy felt human and raw, and had me rooting for them almost from the get go. The timing of events could’ve been shifted slightly earlier, as I felt the last section of the book could have benefitted from further exploration. Overall it was a wonderful read and I look forward to reading more of Gabriella’s work in the future!!
I have been waiting for this moment since you talked to me about bringing this characters to life, this is such a good story with great characters, would recommend everyone to read this!!
