This is was a disappointment tbh.

To much internal dialogue and the dialogue got on my nerves with the bro and fucks and the what.

Even the steam was a let down.

This second instalment (must be read in order) has a big chunk of character development along with the steamy sizzle.

I enjoyed this but not as much as the first book. I loved the writing, but the pacing felt a little too slow to me. I think this definitely could have been shorter. It had too many inner thoughts/dialogue for my liking. It started to feel repetitive and unnecessary, especially the last 4 chapters, which I ended up skimming to get to the dialogue parts. I understand it was used to create tension, show inner turmoil, and to drag things out, but it didn’t really work for me. Also, River started to annoy me. He became a little too intense, possessive, and asshole-y for me. And most of his thoughts and feelings about gayness felt too immature, simplistic, and redundant. Also, the way he treated, thought, and felt about females and the way they were portrayed in this rubbed me the wrong way. Nonetheless, I still liked the story and am interested to see how things play out in the remaining books.😊

So I didn’t think i would ever dnf a twincest book but jesus christ on a cracker, this was REAAAALLY BAD. I have never read a book where I skimmed parts to come to the naughty stuff, and had to keep skimming and skimming and get really fucking irritated and frustrated and not even wanting to read the sexy stuff anymore because there was so. Fucking. Much. redundant inner dialogue. Like, please NEVER ever write an erotic novel again that simply is so boring even the erotic part isn’t interesting anymore. If you’re writing a book, write it, don’t fill it up with nonsense just so you can sell it as parts of a series. I haven’t read the other books, but I guess this could’ve easily been one book for all 3 that have released. Damn.

Yes Mama Chara knows how to tease and she has us on the edge through episode 2, aptly named Touch. Twins Rain and River are having a bit of a crisis they are working through together for "science" and it could detonate their whole relationship. I love Chara's frequent use of the f-bomb, sprinkled liberally throughout, including imaginatively mid-word, because it highlights just how messed up this situation is and the impact it can have on Rain and River publicly, privately, personally, and together. It emphasizes just how momentous this experiment is and I suspect a very messed up situation coming up, justifying the next episode Spank!

Just pulled the car forward after the kid gave us the total, then shifted his hand on my thigh again, just enough so his pinky finger fina-fucking-ly dragged over my cockhead, and— Fire. Pure, white-hot, this-was-what-my-dick-was-made-for fire.

There is just something extra dirty about River teasing his own twin in a mundane place like a drive-thru. This story suffers from "Chara Croft extra word vomit syndrome" like they all do but it's still hot af. I adore these these twins and the brotherly love they have for one another💙💙
