USA Today Bestselling Author of steamy PNR and fantasy romance.

Ever since my grandmother first handed me a Nora Roberts novel, I KNEW I wanted to write romance.

I love love. Crave it. For me, genre doesn't matter as long as there is a beautifully epic love story woven into the storyline.

Which is exactly why I chose to write across so many genres. Paranormal, fantasy, contemporary, suspense...no matter which of my books you choose you always know what you're getting: a love story for the ages.

I have no words for the ending of book one, but seriously Jessica Wayne left me in such a complete emotional mess that I didn’t know what to expect with this next book….. The only thing that I can guarantee is that I knew that she’d been throwing a lot of plot twists that you’d have no idea what is going on. Jessica’s mind is that messed up and twisted that you never know what you’re going to get from her. I thought she was talented when I first started reading her work, but as she’s written more and progressed, you can see that she has grown so much as an author and honestly the ideas that she puts into her stories actually scare me at times…. But that’s the beauty of her writing, the fear, the not knowing, it helps her be able to capture the element of surprise and it draws her readers in and she always leaves them wanting more. If you thought the first book was twisted and dark, you’ve not seen anything yet, all I’m going to say is that when reading this book don’t go into it reading without having your guard up, because honestly Jessica is twisted and this book just proves how twisted her mind can get. I was hooked from the very beginning and loved seeing all the different elements that she’s put together, you got to read from a lot more characters perspectives, it was interesting seeing how everything all fell together. The one thing that bothered me was that Amos….. Seriously, the dude is EVIL!!!!! I actually want to punch the dude. There’s always that one character that authors try to get you to hate in their books and honestly this time the way Jessica has written and captured him, you can’t help but want to punch him, she did a good job at bringing him to life. There was nothing to fault and I’m looking forward to seeing how this next book plays out because I know for a fact a lot more is to come and that it’s bound to be exciting as the first book. Plus, Sienna is so adorable, I love how powerful she is, don’t get me wrong, it sucks that she ended up becoming powerful the way that she did, but the outcome overall is incredible. I’m looking forward to having her kick ass and hopefully she destroys Amos soon because I’m not sure how much more I can take of the dude….
Seriously, good luck when it comes to reading this book, there’s a few surprises in there that you may be shocked to discover.

Sienna’s been taken, but Daxon nor Zane have no clue who’s taken her, Corrine’s gone with a bunch of Werewolves in exchange for them finding out where Sienna is….. As you can imagine things are pretty hectic for them all right now. Daxon already feels guilty for the way things were left between both him and Sienna when they last spoke and that was literally just before she went missing. He wants to find her quickly and for now both him and Zane have to put all their differences aside if they want to save her. Whilst Corrine’s with the Werewolves, she’s learning how to fight but also secrets about the Realm and Daxon are told to her in the hopes that when she goes back to them, they’ll have an idea at how to try and take down their enemy….. The last thing any of them want is for the Realm to become fallen or destroyed, but in order for that to be prevented they need to get to the King to warn him of what’s happening and to alert him or who did the attack on the Academy. With time not being on their side, will everything work out, or is there someone who is determined to make sure that they never succeed in the task of saving the Realm?

Loving this series so far! The whole premise is really cool; loving all the magical elements and characters. Sienna is super fierce! She’s been treated so poorly and has had to kill a lot of people, so she’s having difficulty seeing the good in herself, but this woman has a good heart. Love the passionate connection between Daxon and Her; some really sweet moments too. Daxon was so horrible to her towards the end of the last book, so he really needs to make amends for his actions. This book picks up right where the first book left off, Sienna has been kidnapped and is being tortured, Daxon and Zane are trying to find her. Unfortunately, there’s many dangerous foes out there, so it’s not going to be an easy task. Lots of secrets and corruption come to light, so the group has a lot to deal with.

There’s multiple POV’s in this book, which I enjoyed most of them. More of Corinne in this; I haven’t been a huge fan of hers since the prequel, but she’s growing on me. I’m just one of those readers that likes the focus to be on one female lead, but Corrine has vastly improved since the prequel, so I’m starting to like her. I’m not a huge fan of Zane and Her, but there’s a good connection there. I just don’t like that Sienna and Zane slept together so recently, so it’s weird for me. It would’ve been better if Sienna and Zane had just been best friends, or even if they tried being together when younger but decided just friends was better; it all just seems too close together and too fast. Especially, since Zane still acts like he’s in love with Sienna; why is he lusting after Corinne but still giving Sienna a hard time about Daxon? That’s why I can’t fully get behind Corinne and Zane.

The cliffhanger definitely leaves things up in the air with some things, so I’m in anticipation of the next book. Loved the action and suspense of this book; so entertaining! I’ve really enjoyed all the books in this series so far! A great series!

This definitely picks up where the first one left off. It answers so many questions but then leaves you hanging again. Can't wait for the next one.

Sienna is one strong fierce woman. She has been treated poorly her whole life and this book is no different. Her and Daxon's connection is strong even after the way he treated her at the end of the first book.
Daxon learns so much about his and his family's life along with who orchestrated the attack on the academy.

Zane is a good guy who is still in love with Sienna but knows he can't have her. So he is still lusting after Corrine. Corrine has much bigger part in this book. I gotta say I'm not entirely sure how I feel about her. But she has a huge change happen to her so goodbye prim and proper.

Definitely need to read the first book. This will keep you captivates the whole time.

I received this as an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Even better than the first, if that’s possible.

This book is even better than the first, plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked. This saga is my favorite yet from Jessica Wayne and I was a HUGE fan of the prophecy series! I cannot wait for book three!!!

I have no idea how to elaborate on that without giving spoilers but I will try. I was taken by surprised by several developments. Sienna is sent to the king to kill him at the end of the last book but we all know that she has a strong moral code and will only take lives of those she believes are guilty and decides to warn them as best as she can and while in the capitol, she learns so very important information which sets the stage for the book. Daxon learns more about his family. Triangles are still messy and I really wonder how Zane will come out in this series. Corrine needs to be careful what she wishes for because she just might get it (and does in the end although I will bet not in the way she ever would have conceived as a possibility). Overall the book is a great and if you enjoyed the first book, you will love the second.

Holy crap what ride!

That was a mind blowing read! Couldn’t put it down once I started reading. There are so many greatly developed characters and side plots that blend into one epic story. I’m a fan of Zane and amazingly Lawson too. Can’t wait for the finally. Come on Corrine...!!

Loved this book. It's truly a suspenseful, can't put down type of book. We have a huge cast of characters and many surprises. Sienna is again captured and tortured. Dax and the others search. Ward family secrets are revealed while Amos tries to capture the throne. This whole series is remarkable and very well written. Now I'm waiting for book three.

Jessica Wayne does not disappoint in the second installment of the Cambexian Realm series. This book picks up RIGHT where the first one left off and takes you on a steamy, snarky, action packed journey. You learn more about the characters you love, you learn more about the characters you love to hate, and the pieces of the puzzle slowly start to fall into place. Book 3 cannot come soon enough. This story is so artistically written, it paints a picture of the sights and sounds of a far off realm full of vampire sage half breeds, werewolves, necromancers and SO much more.

Endless stupidity. I question sanity of the writer and editor.
And they burying 3 dozen dead bodies when they have to be somewhere else yesterday.
Do you know how much time it takes to bury a single dead? Why are they wasting their times when they have something more important to do?
All sub-plots are unhinged, none sticks with each other.
Thought FL was kidnapped by non-magic council in Book 1, but she was done by magic council, why?
Her parent where already in the process of initiating her to council with hope of her becoming a council member (Remember the ball they were preparing and inviting magic council on Book 1?), so why kidnap her at all.
Why kill her parents and torture her?
It not just one or two but all sages are torturing FL, why? Their is no clear thought process on that for any characters, except Amos. He is just an ash hole & sociopath that was clear on his action.
If she was kidnapped and tortured then subsequently made her follow their direction by magic council, why is she taking orders non-magic council? Non-magic council gave her order to kill Daxon ward in Book 1.
Also necromancer does not have healing ablity on their own, yet he survived by sword thought his head. It that possible in this world?
Also why don't Amos children have brain of their own? At this point it seems ridiculous to see every single one of them following his directive without their own thought process. Also none of them know each other, really????
Am not sure what Amos goal is. He hates magic and magicians yet he was killing everyone who can stopping and civilians!!!!
Why FL was trying to flee from Madame Tabalt when she could have simply snapped her neck?
Everyone except Amos has no brain in his army, because nobody question or thing through about his order, Even most senior and politically experienced sage and necromancer. Really?????
And a man in his early 30's with 2 children was killed and impersonated by someone else that nobody realized, Really....?????
I question sanity of the writer and editor.
Daxon and Lawson are not even half brothers (cousins once removed) yet the species who can tell the bloodline with smell alone did not notice!!!!

All that Sienna went through was crazy and I was a little worried about what was gonna happen! So much corruption throughout this whole book! It's amazing how Jessica makes you think you know what's going to happen but in the end you don't. That ending was an amazing cliff hanger!! I can't wait to read the next book!!!

This is book two of the Cambrexian Realm series and follows the story of Dax (Daxon) Ward and the Sage, Sienna, who was sent to kill him, by order of the non-Magickal Council of Cambria. He found out something about her and has gone from wanting to be with her to telling her that he hated her and if he ever saw her again he would kill her. Little did he know that the evil was coming for her again and she would be taken back into the lair of her torturer of old, who would make it as painful as possible for her even to exist each day. He then sent her back to Cambria with another, in her weakened state, to kill the king ad wreak havoc on the city. The mastermind behind all of the events that have recently happened and those that are in motion now, has planned for events for many years and made false allies, promising them everything they want, but will betray them all for his own power gain in the end.

Dax is left bereft, finally realising how much Sienna means to him and must rely on Zane and Corinne to help him try to find her before it is too late. Corinne goes with a group wolves in exchange for information on Sienna’s location, but is entirely safe and will end up learning a lot about what the evil mastermind’s real plan is for the realm and for magick itself. Storms are becoming more powerful as the balance between magick and non-magick becomes distorted and the loss of magick altogether could be devastating for all! Dax and Zane may not really like each other very much, but they both love Sienna and will do all they can to get her back. Whether she will be in any fit state, or even herself anymore, after the sorts of experiments she will likely be subjected to again, is unclear.

There is going to be a battle for Cambria and the fate of the realm, but who will prevail is anyone’s guess! There are those hidden in plain sight, keeping the king and queen away from their people and those within the Non-Magick Council who are feeding information to the evil mastermind (trying not to give their identity away here!). It seems that backstabbing and killing or torturing your way to power, is something that many of them like to do. The most obvious candidates for this behaviour, Sienna and Zane, are the one who have a sense of honour and would never hurt innocents, all while they are called monsters by anyone who sees them! They have a lonely life and had only each other for so long, it is hard for them to trust anyone else.

Dax will learn some ugly truths about who he thought his family was and what really happened, as well as why evil has followed him and wants him dead! The journey to Cambria grows more perilous at every step, as others known as monsters and even groups of what are known as condemned men, add to the chaos, attacking all in their path. This is a great read, which kept me wrapped up in the characters stories, the whole way through. There are some you will grow to love and be rooting for, others that will surprise you, some in good ways, others in bad ways, never anything dull or boring, with the consummate evil mastermind popping up every so often. I was left hoping for one outcome and being shocked at the reality portrayed in the storyline, just as hope rises, something else will happen and another layer of strength and resilience will be called for. A fantastic read and I can’t wait now for the next book in the series! I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

ONE ACTION PACKED AVALANCHE!!!
Sensational! Jessica delivers one incredibly composed treat with this arresting storyline and engaging plot, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Shenanigans, chaos and mayhem rule the roost, rolling with the drama, anxiety, intrigue, animosity, betrayal, danger, mounting suspense and intense situations along with a boatload of torture while dodging disaster, you have one jaw dropping adventure. Vexing mishaps and unsettling circumstances, swirl with the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, racing alongside the thrilling twists and wicked turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never imagined. Shattering boundaries and dispensing lines, displaying the strengths and weaknesses being weighed and balanced, booting this gem into the eye of the storm, breaking it down, slamming it into overdrive, catapulting it into a hissy with a life-altering culmination. Bearing the burdens and defeating foes presenting this non-stop action packed, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping, block busting bombshell, blasting this baby to life beautifully. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and realism, blend and flow transforming into relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Jessica, thanks for sharing this lil' fella with us.

This novel was action packed from the first novel in the series. All the characters will find their way back to each, but they have their own adventures to overcome before reaching that point. Sienna is travelling with Lawson at the behest of Amos Ward, who has caused all characters so much pain. Sienna is dying and needs the cure to stop the Guardian blood from killing her. Lawson discovers how cruel his father truly is and wants to stop him. Daxon and Zane are trying to find the cure for Sienna, Daxon feeling the guilt of how he treated Sienna and knows she is the one for him. Corrine made a deal with the wolves to help Sienna and wants to not be so helpless. All of them want to stop the evil that is coming and they will all need to work together. The past comes to light for how Amos planned to conquer the realm, pitting non-magicks and magicks against each other. All of the realm is in danger and Sienna and her friends are the only ones who can stop Amos. Lots of plot twists in this novel and a great read! 4.5 stars

More Evil and Magick

This is the second book of the Cambrexian Realm, and it picks up right where the other one stops. This is definitely not a standalone; you need to read the first book, or you would be completely lost with this one. Our heroine is dying, and the other main characters from the book are trying to figure out the cure. Despite how awfully Daxon treated her at the end of the previous book, he comes to understand and appreciate his connection and feelings for her. The romantic relationships feel a bit muddled to me. I don't like that the besties slept together while the man appears to be lusting for the other female. Ick, on both counts. It feels like cheating, too, on the heroine’s side because we know who she is meant to end up with. The book ends on a cliffhanger, a plot device I'm not fond of. There's a fair amount of profanity, which I also don't like. The author has created a complex world and characters and provides enough action and interest to keep the pages turning.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Continuing from the cliff hanger of the last book with Sienna out of action,Jessica Wayne uses the time to explore the love triangle of Zane, Sienna and and Daxon through the male characters. Having said that though there seem to be enough love triangles in this book to make a flaming decagon.

The chemistry and emotion Jessica has built up in this book increases to some climaxes and nearly all the relationships between the characters navigate new ground. My favourite character that I am rooting for is definately Zane.

The action doesn't cease in this book as we reach the climax to the first part of this story.Jessica leaves it such that this is only the first battle in an ongoing war. The story ends on the group reuniting, regrouping and a major change for one of the characters. I look forward to the next installment

This just gets more exciting as the story moves along. We meet Daxon, the guardian Sienna was supposed to kill, in the first book in the series. But this is the book that tells us what he's truly made of. We begin to discover the characters' pasts and learn the parts they have to play in the story. The action never stops, and we get to see who the true villains are and what their parts are in this tale. The backdrop is vivid, and the adventure takes so many twists and turns that we don't know how the characters will survive - just that we need them to survive. And they need to figure out how they'll save the realm at the same time.

This author's storytelling talent continues to amaze and enchant me. I can't wait to see where she takes us next.

Do you know how the second novel in some trilogies is clearly just a way to set up the finale, lacking any spark in itself? This is not one of those. Ms. Wayne has made this an action-filled, intriguing thriller in and of itself. While it cannot be read alone (it is clear that something happened before that you need to know to make sense of some of the points expounded upon), the author wrote this in a way that requires you to savour the continuation of the story with its own brand of excitement and anxiety while forcing you eagerly anticipate the finale. Now what happens?

Sienna has been captured and is being tortured, not sure how long she can hold on to her sanity. Daxon and Zane have no idea who took her, but they are still trying to find her, Daxon aware that she may not be the same when they do find her! With so many dangerous enemies, rescue won’t be an easy thing to accomplish. Many secrets and corruption are uncovered which gives everyone even more to respond to and figure out.

The story line is fast-paced and the characters were well-depicted. But I hate torture type books and can’t say I enjoyed the rough parts. But overall, I think this is a book worth reading.

Loved the audio book.

This story has lots of adventure, mixed signals, the council not telling the truth.

Hero is Daxon. ( A guardian). Heroine is Sienna ( a sage ) . There is a lot of levels in this story as it progresses you will see story lines on other characters. Zane is a vamp and Siennas best friend. Sienna and Zane always protect each other’s back
Sienna is given a task to track down Daxon and do away with him.
Sienna is a very very powerful Sage. The paranormal people are trying to tone down her power .

Stephanie Rose nailed this audio book. She was powerful on her own

Guardian of magick, book 2 in Jessica Wayne's Cambrexian Realm series, starts off with a bang and just keeps on going. Having everything I could ask for, Guardian of Magick rapidly became one of my favorite novels. The storyline is fast-paced, filled with magic and mayhem, danger, torture, intrigue, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood and romance. The characters are strong, endearing and dedicated. In this book loyalties are questioned, friendships are destroyed and lifetimes of truths are turned upside down. When then dust settles, what will be left?

Holy Toledo!! And here I thought the first book was great!!

Jessica Wayne did a superb job out doing herself with this new book of hers! The story continues just after Warrior of Magic leaves off, introducing a who new meaning to the definition of pain and suffering.

You immediately get sucked right back into the lives of the two main characters, and start thinking of them as friends instead of characters on paper.

If you like fast action dosed with magic, you need to do yourself a huge favor and grab this book, you won't be disappointed!!

In this one the danger, emotions, pain and anguish are more intense and will pull you in and have you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out what is gonna happen. Each truth that is revealed the more twist and turns you don't expect. An amazing read that had me in tears and left me breathless and wanting more. Can't wait to read the next one

Awesome!

Sienna, Damon, Corrine, Zane and Lawson have overcame a lot in this second book. Amos is back in the picture and full of surprises. What an evil man he is.
Now our group is on the move, trying to get to the Amber Isle before Amos’s minions can catch them.
That’s all I’m saying about this one. You need to read it and you’ll agree with me that it’s another great one!

This is the first series I’ve read of Jessica’s and I am hooked! There is so much action, fighting for survival and some cute remarks from Zane that you can’t help cheering on a half-breed with a huge heart. Corrine - OMG! The book ended with a jolt! Now I have to read the next book to figure out what happened. Great story line - can’t put it down.
