Harem Farm #2

Rate this book
We will not be slaves.

The devil has been bested. Zeryesis tried his damnedest, but Lulu’s life is back in her hands. No longer must she spend every month worrying about becoming a slave, and it’s all thanks to Steve… not that he’ll admit it. He’s too busy focusing on the future—turning the farm from a hovel into the best around.

But that’s easier said than done.

The Huedom’s rulers don’t have any interest in letting Steve and his demi-beast companions expand as they please. If they want to grow, they’ll have to earn it… even if it means coming up against threats that make a troll look like a kobold.

Compared to letting the nobles keep him and his wives down? Sounds like a dream.

Warning: Harem Farm 2 contains monster girls in need of satisfaction, guys being blitzed into pieces, and too many scandalous milking scenes. Don’t say you weren’t told!

Sexy romp, with some comedy

The title to this review sums it up really. I'm.. not liking it as much as the shattered world series.

He got extra OP extra fast in this for starters. There was even less sense of risk than the first book. He constantly was doing dumb things and his power was the only thing that bailed him out... total catastrophe otherwise.

The smut was good, standard for the author, not top shelf but up there. Was a little much, actually hurt the pacing some. He should've spread the women out a little more perhaps. Also, had a kink I really enjoy, but don't tease about a kink like you did in the last book of you aren't going to follow through. I'm not entirely surprised, some authors just have places they choose not to go... it's a failing of note than just this author. It's decent smut though so sometimes you take the good at least.

Finally, the pacing... and resultant cliffhanger. It's worse than his other series, I felt the other had better demarcation, going to new areas, or I could be remembering with rose coloured glasses. This one felt it had the buildup, climax and resolution all before the two thirds mark of the book, leaving the rest to just fumble along to set up the next book. It's one thing to leave a few hooks, but that just seemed... poor planning.

I'm not going to mark it less than 3, though I was tempted, because it's decent... but I definitely can't give it higher than 3 cause only decent. But I feel sometimes my 3 is other reviewers 5 so perhaps give it a try on KU. If you've read the first you might still like this, it didn't completely jump the shark from the first... though it's getting there.

Starts rough, gets better
This one has a different tone than book 1. This is more complicated, more political, and Waaay more like Herald of Shalia. You can tell that Herald of Shalia or HoS is one of the inspirations for book 1 but it's more like a blueprint for book 2.
This book gets us off the farm, into other towns & cities, and out to visit the neighbors. It also clubs the reader over the head with the vitriolic bigotry of the Empire. In book one Beastkin are not respected, in book two they are despised. That's part of what makes the start so rough, David Aries has to signal that he's changing gears but he over does the racist abuse all at once.
Once you get past the bit that is meant to cause you outrage we get a story of thoughtless heroics and bestial depravity in a good way. There is way more sex in this one.
Ps. I liked this book. I will read book 3 soon, but I finished it 5 min ago and I've already forgotten the in book term for animal people. So I just said beastkin. You know what I meant, but it bears pointing out that a lot of this book is forgettable.

A feel-good warm and fuzzy romance novel wrapped up with a litrpg-lite harem fantasy. There is definitely some inspiration from Herald of Shalia to be found here with the NPC's hatred of the beast-women, but it has more than enough originality to keep from being redundant. The cover is a perfect representation for how the book plays out: it's all about the MC and his love for his harem of warm, cuddly, sexy women and willingness to do whatever is needed to keep them safe. This was so far opposite the vibe that I got from reading the Scholomance series, it was a great palate cleanser after reading those books.

Thoroughly fun and enjoyable!

I've always had a fondness for Demi-Humans and Beastkin in fantasy, but in most scenarios they are usually treated as lesser than other races.

So while the world of this book has the same underlying fundamentals, it great to see an MC who doesn't care for the norm and pushing the limits of the world he finds himself in.

Having a group of gorgeous Beastkin wives helps, and a chest magic too.
I didn't want to stop reading!

Introduction:
Greetings, fellow beings of HowlStrom. I am Kiba Snowpaw, an alpha male Ice Wolf from our frozen world, and today I bring forth a tale from another realm, a tale of power, lust, and the complexities of human and demi-beast relationships. As one who has wielded ice magic for over 36 years and has faced many a gaming challenge, I find myself drawn to stories that resonate with the icy grip of our homeland. "Harem Farm 2" by David Aries is one such tale.

Basic Plot Summary:
The devil has been defeated, and Lulu's life is back in her control, all thanks to Steve. However, as they strive to transform their farm into the best, they face challenges from the Huedom's rulers. To grow and prosper, they must confront threats far greater than before. The story delves deep into the dynamics of power, relationships, and the struggle for dominance.

Analysis/Evaluation:
The tale is a mix of fantasy, power dynamics, and explicit content. Aries' portrayal of a world where demi-beasts and humans coexist brings forth questions of morality, power, and the very essence of freedom. The story, while filled with explicit scenes, also touches upon deeper themes of love, loyalty, and the cost of ambition.

Characters:
Steve, the protagonist, is a complex character. His actions, both commendable and questionable, paint a picture of a man torn between his desires and his responsibilities. Lulu, on the other hand, represents hope and resilience. The demi-beast characters add depth and diversity to the narrative, each with their unique personalities and challenges.

Structure:
The story flows seamlessly, with each chapter building upon the previous one. Aries has a knack for balancing explicit content with plot development, ensuring that the narrative doesn't lose its essence amidst the lustful scenes.

Impact:
The tale serves as a mirror to our society, reflecting the power dynamics, prejudices, and the thin line between love and lust. It resonates deeply with the icy heart of HowlStrom, reminding us of the complexities of relationships and the price of freedom.

Hook and Thesis:
The story hooks the reader with its explicit content but goes beyond mere lustful scenes to explore deeper themes of power, freedom, and morality. The underlying thesis seems to revolve around the complexities of human and demi-beast relationships and the challenges they face in a world dominated by power dynamics.

Praise and Critique:
Aries' world-building is commendable, and his characters are well fleshed out. The explicit scenes, while abundant, are tastefully written. However, some readers might find the frequency of these scenes overwhelming and feel that they overshadow the main plot. Additionally, the character of Steve, while intriguing, sometimes comes off as inconsistent in his actions and decisions.

Comparison:
"Harem Farm 2" can be compared to other fantasy novels that delve into the dynamics of power and relationships. However, its explicit content and unique setting set it apart from the rest.

Conclusion:
"Harem Farm 2" is a tale of power, lust, and the complexities of relationships. It is a roller-coaster ride of emotions, filled with explicit scenes, power struggles, and moments of genuine emotion. As Kiba Snowpaw, I recommend this tale to those who seek a story that goes beyond mere lustful scenes and delves deep into the intricacies of human and demi-beast relationships.

May the icy winds of HowlStrom guide you

Didn't hate this, but didn't love it. The first half of the book kind of dragged on for me. A main pillar of this series is this fictional world's racism against demi-beasts (anthropomorphized animals, like dog girls and cat girls, etc). Steve, the protagonist, is constantly baffled by the terrible treatment that demi-beasts endure. But instead of being intelligent about it, he just incessantly whines and complains that everyone is racist, routinely insists that other people should stop being racist, and eventually threatens them with violence. Which, sure, racism is never a good thing. But you aren't going to change hearts and minds by whining at people, and violence will only work in the short term.
The story picks up around the halfway mark. Surprisingly, the main antagonists are confronted and dealt with long before the end of the novel. Those were the most interesting bits of the book - Steve learning more about the nature of magic and how the preconceived notions that this world holds about magic are wrong is an intriguing topic. But it doesn't get explored nearly enough for my tastes. The rest of the novel returns to rote nonsense, except for a slight pick up near the end.
Some of the character development is alright, some of it is eye-rolling. Characters are given one or two mannerisms that they repeat nonstop like they're robots. Roxie is going to eventually rip her hair out with how much she twirls strands of it in her fingers. (Seriously - any time she has a line of dialogue, she's twirling her hair. Get new ideas, author.)

I was surprised to see this series is only 3 books long. I'm used to these harem series being never-ending slogs of 10+ books. During the first half of this novel, I was thinking that I might not bother continuing on past this one. Once it picked up a bit, I thought I might revise that notion. But now, seeing that there's only one more book, I definitely think I'll get around to it eventually. I'm just worried that the things I find interesting will not come to a meaningful fruition in time. As I said, I was expecting many more entries. But only one book left might not be enough room.

There's actually a decent book hidden somewhere inside "Harem Farm 2" - unfortunately it's mostly hidden behind the sex, the banter and the baby talk.
This is pretty much summed up by:- " I’m a demi-beast-loving pervert who can’t keep his eyes to himself. If it was up to me, every damn demi-beast on this planet would be mine."
With few exceptions every female he meets comes to believe that Steve is the centre of their universe. It's completely juvenile.
Following directly on from the first book Steve and his female/animal companions have to find two slaves and earn their freedom from the dastardly Lord Galeholder. And there are greater plots in motion.
And, of course, with the exception of Marietta, he spends a lot of time boosting their confidence - enough, already. It is understandable why, in the context of their world and of the plot, they feel they are lesser beings, but the point only needs to be made once.
Steve continues to benefit occasionally from his mental pop-up screen which offers him
There are some good one-liners and I did like the idea of Catkwondo.
“Harpy down. I repeat: harpy down!” - that line got a laugh outta me!
It does need a tighter edit.
Like the first book I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
3 Stars.

“Harem Farm 2” kicks off with a laugh-out-loud funny sex scene with a lusty cow, which is a phrase I never thought I would say. And the surprises keep rolling from there. This book is a fun read with a wild sense of humor, while also diving into the darker side of this fantasy world’s society.

After spending most of book one on Darkwood Farm, managing crops and loving his lady-beast livestock, the sequel takes our hero Steve out of his rural comfort zone. When he goes into the city seeking workers for the farm, he experiences first-hand the prejudice this world has against demi-beasts. And as a man with a true heart and high moral fiber (not to mention three demi-beast wives), Steve’s not gonna stand for it.

What follows is an action-packed, world-building adventure, as he tries to bring the world over to his point of view, one kicked ass at a time. The story includes lots of satisfying character development of the wives, as well as introducing a few new pretty faces to the harem.

I’m looking forward to digging into the next installment. As Oliver Wendell Douglas once said, “Farm livin’ is the life for me!”

A fun new series for harem fans!

Steven Draxler finds himself transported to a world where humans and demi-humams ( momster girls( furrys )) exist together. Steven, being a nerd can't wait to get his hands on some of the lovely fems only to discover that the evil humans( Boo, hiss) are treating the demi humans like second class citizens or worse and those who would seek to hook up with the " Animals" as perverts and degenerates! So, seeing that the new world needs fixing he sets about to right things with lots of sexy fun in between !

Decent read if you want some sexy action, just leave your brain behind.
Overall, like the last one, characters are unbelievably dumb. They also have no self control, it's like they are kids.

I personally don't understand high ratings. It's just very lazy writing. "System" is also total crap as it basically works on author's whim so as to generate artificial tension and then suddenly provide skill when MC needs it.

This novel also had one of my pet peeves, interrogating enemy in battle and thus giving them moment to get away :D Like come on, you need to actually capture someone first.

Fighting for His Harem Farm

Steve is a normal horney guy living in a world with a lot of demi-beasts that are thought as second class creatures by the other creatures of this world. Not to Steve they aren't. No! Just incredibly sexy women looking for a safe home and lots of sex. Steve is 'the Man' to help where help is needed and fights to free the demi-beasts from their enslavement. Plus he gets a lot of choices to have sex with and they love him for it.

Another fun read!

A good continuation of the series. The MC is still a Mary Sue type and is somewhat of an idiot at times. There are things that happened that were aggravating. The author gives away the solution to a problem well in advance but the MC seems to "forget" about those solutions until it is too late. This happened twice. So there are annoying parts to the story but the character interactions are good enough to make up for it. Each one of the monster girls are unique in both physical description as well as personality. Overall, I am still happy with this series.

Great second book!1

It had been a little while since I read the first book, so I was a little hesitant. But once I started, I barely put it down. I liked how the story has progressed, the writing is very good, and the characters are enjoyable. The spicy bits are also very well done. Pick this one up!

A fun read.

I find myself really enjoying this series. This book was no exception. The adventure continues for Steve and the ladies. This time, he gets a bigger picture of the world, and he hates what he sees. He sets out to change it. The story and characters are interesting and engaging. I look forward to reading more of this series. This one is definitely worth checking out.

Entertaining read

The fantasy continues we learn more about the royalty in the Kingdom that our main character is living in along with his women and he's champion of the beast kin. There is lots of action and intrigue the only thing that I find it might be a little bit daunting is there might be too much spicy times but there's still plenty of story all the same.

This series continues to be incredible entertaining and engrossing. This second book finds our main character given an opportunity to bond with more monster girls and at the same time work to grow stronger to protect them in the process. Again, Aries manages a perfect balance between fun, smut, and action which delivers a fantastic reading experience.

Surprisingly better than book1

The saying is that the sequel is rarely better than the original. Book 1was fun and airy, book 2 is a adventurous roller coaster ride, with a compelling plot and dialogue.

This was a nice little tale of farm tail. The MC is a little op and very horny, but who can blame him. I rather liked this book and look forward to the next.

Second amazing parts.

If you thought a crooked devil was bad try some hateful humans. The author has you wishing you could jump into the book and toss a few prejudiced humans around the darkwood. A true story of love, perseverance and attitude. Along with a very unusual cast.

This was awful. I love my harem books and I can put up with quite a bit but this was just out right bad in every aspect. The whole BBW Mommy cow milking kink was awful, not my cup of tea so you have been warned if it's not yours either.

Mixed feelings about this one, but mostly positive. I liked the world building and the new characters a lot, but thought it got a little too over-the-top by the ending, at least compared to the first book.

Love these over powered books

I'll give this an A+ for both martial and magical frameworks. They both turned out well. I'm a little prejudiced on 6 wives. To me that many just takes away from the characters development. Good epilogue!
