Rescued by the Interstellar Agent

Rate this book
What's a 31st century girl to do when faced with a gorgeous Roman plucked out of ancient history and dumped into the Ardun gladiator games? She's definitely not supposed to sleep with him...

Minerva Harris is an interstellar intelligence agent with a foul mouth and no work life balance. She is definitely not looking for a relationship. When her boss sends her to planet Ardun following an anonymous tip about abducted humans forced to participate in the local gladiator games, she uncovers a time travel mystery and a sexy Roman who won’t take no for an answer.

If only there weren't so many reasons why they can't be together. And isn’t it her job to find a way to send him back home?

When Marcus Aquilius Felix wakes up to find himself a captive of the Ardun, a race of human-cat hybrids, he thinks at first he’s been taken by the gods. He certainly can’t believe his luck when he finds his own flesh and blood goddess.

If only he could convince her that he’s worth believing in.

Rescued by the Interstellar Agent contains a steamy romance and explicit content. It is intended for readers who are over 18.

⚔️ “Did I think I was lucky before? I didn’t know the meaning of the word. You are a goddess.”

Minnie is brave, smart, resourceful and caring. Being an interstellar intelligence agent, she’s one badass woman. I really liked her!

And Felix is absolutely awesome! I loved how open minded and accepting he was even when pulled so further in time. In addition, he’s honorable, protective, confident and a great strategist. But most of all, I loved his humor.

I really enjoyed the development of their relationship. After being hurt in the past, Minnie had so many doubts about being with Felix and I loved his determination to prove to her that they were meant to be together. I loved his teasing. They were a great match and their chemistry was wonderful and scorching hot.

In addition, I loved the worldbuilding. I really enjoyed the mix of sci-fi, aliens, time travel and ancient history - it was quite interesting and captivating.

Overall, the story is a great read filled with fast-paced action, suspense, danger, drama, gladiator battles, steamy romance and great characters.

I loved it!

"She hated team work."

Minnie is a one woman show. Go in, figure out if a crime is being committed, then bring in a team to clean up the mess, in whatever form the case entails... well, that's what a mission gone right would probably look like.

Felix is a natural leader, with a way with words... a charismatic man with an o!d world look... that's just a look, right?

I really enjoyed this done in one story. Where other authors might have split this up I to a trilogy, this is packed with plot, reveals/discoveries, and features a leading man who get one rude shock after another, yet keeps moving forward.

Romans and Catpeople

You can’t beat a combo like that in a story! I’ve read the newest series by Ami and loved them. I picked this one mainly because human women were not the ones being stolen as sex slaves.
I do wish the some of the females were more solid or at least had more fleshed out stories to explain their behavior. I would have liked more character development and less sex. The intimate scenes were good, but the many ones over 3 were just redundant and unnecessary.

I was the editor for this wonderful creative and thoughtful (and hot) scifi romance from Ami Wright. Minnie, an Interstellar agent (think galactic earth-based CIA) investigates a rumor that the humans competing as gladiators in the Ardun games were not volunteers. She discovers the truth is even more sinister and concocts a plan to free the many Roman Legionnaires (from 1st century Earth). Her first rescued victim is determined to worship his goddess, carnally.

This author cannot portray a (even partially) believable federal/intergalactic agent. She uses words like “kinda” and “sorta” and sounds like a teenager. And the FMCs actions are seriously ridiculous and illogical. It was toooooo unbelievable. I couldn’t suspend THAT much disbelief.

This book was great fun to read. All the classic fun of a raunchy romance novel with the added interest of a blend sci-fi and ancient history genres. Steamy raunch scenes to satisfy and a well-written plot to hold interest - what more could you want!
