“It came pretty damn fast, though I couldn’t tell you what the source was. One minute, everything was ‘fine,’ and then we all went down the proverbial toilet faster than my Challenger R/T goes from zero to sixty.” … Seriously? All I wanted to do was spend a few peaceful hours on the golf course. I’d been cooped up inside my house for months and it was boring as hell. (And sure, a little lonely too.) I just wanted to get a quiet round in and pretend it was a perfectly normal day. But no. These damn zombies are relentless, not to mention much smarter, faster, and more organized than I expected. And then they go and drop off some roommates on my doorstep. Normally, I’d be happy for the company, but between the eclectic trio of women and the jackass guy they delivered, they are more than a handful. Oh, and the zombie leader-because that’s a new thing-has given me an unspeakable deadline. I’ve only got a few weeks to figure out how to save everyone, kill the zombie horde, find some sanctuary, and not lose my friggin’ mind in the process. Oh yeah. This’ll be fun.
What do you get when you combine zombies, golf, and a wicked sense of humor? One of the best summer reads I can remember. The end of the world has never been so fun -- well-drawn characters, lots of action, likeable good guys and super-punchable bad guys....I'm a little skeptical of the zombie genre but sooooo glad I gave Shotgun Finish a try. I ended up plowing through the whole series (and acting like a whiny baby when there were no more to read...)
