Their faith will be shaken, their worst fears will come to pass... but in the end, there's the hope of the brightest of tomorrows. Due to content, this series is not recommended for children under 13.
This is an interesting approach to apocalyptic times. The group that is involved in this trek to safety feel that this is the end of time as predicted in Daniel and Revelation. Interesting action and character development. Not a bad read.
This is a new author to me, I hesitated to read this end times story because the rapture view point is different then what I believe. With that said , I went ahead and read it because the story line was different then other end times books I've read. I'm really glad I did. This was a great read! I felt everything these characters went through.. Even though I still believe in a pre tribulation rapture, this book was awesome. I'm on to read the next one.
All-in-all, this was a pretty good book and a quick read. The author can tell a great story, that's for sure, and I know editors are expensive, but this writing could have used more robust editing. The writing style reads as very unpolished and amateur, but with the right editing, this author could be truly spectacular.
As a reader, you'll need to take on this book with an open mind, especially if you have firm notions on the rapture.
I would have loved to see the characters overcoming more hardships, but everything just came to them so easily, just because someone prayed. No food? BAM--they'd run across a house with a hidden cellar full of more food than they could carry. No water? BAM--their water bottles never emptied no matter how much they drank.
I'm not saying there's no power in prayer, and I'm not saying God can't work miracles, because I believe He can, but reading a book of fiction where everything people pray for miraculously happens, with very little hardship to overcome, (especially during the apocalypse!) doesn't make for a very thrilling reading experience from the reader perspective. I think it would have been more powerful to watch the characters keep their faith, or even struggle to keep their faith, THROUGH intense situations they faced.
Even though the writing style itself could use some vast improvement (seriously, stop with the characters constantly rolling their eyes), I'll give this book four stars because the story itself was good.
I'm giving this a 5-star specifically because I find it spiritually inspirational to me. It inspires me to pray more often and more deeply, expecting miracles might just happen. The main characters in this story are Nathan and Tammy, a married couple who are leaving their home and escaping their city, hoping to find safety in another place. The author puts the timing of this story during the beginning of the 7-year tribulation, which is the major issue I have with this book. The author writes as if Christians will have to go through the tribulation period, when the Bible plainly teaches that the Christians/Church will be caught up to Christ just before the tribulation begins, and that is when the anti-christ will be revealed - the moment the Christians are removed from the earth. Otherwise, I like the way Tammy prays and sees miracle after miracle happen on their journey. Putting that issue aside, I see them watch the world falling apart around them as they walk from state to state on their journey, meeting people along the way and having a few adventures. The book has a semi-ending, Even though you know that book #2 will continue the journey, the ending is okay enough that you can stop there.
Leaving your home and town to get away from the lawlessness that the world has become, with the so called troops that are to protect and help citizens is not for the faint hearted. Escaping to friends who live in the countryside is dangerous but more so when you leave in the night. Perils along the way will make it even harder. The friends have left and want you to follow on foot a very long way. Will they make it what takes place along the way will change so much for Nathen.
Enjoyed the characters immensely. Particularly, the hard headed Nathan. Typical view predominates the story that we (humans) can do everything through our own power and strength. A theory that mistakenly believes we can all "pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps." A false belief perpetuated by the world. Great blending of the supernatural and the temporal to illustrate spiritual warfare. Very good read.
Very good story that lightly shows the beginning of the Tribulation. It is more involved with showing what it takes and how it changes a person after Jesus has been accepted into their heart. Can’t wait to read Book two. Great job. Thank you. May God bless you and yours.
I had prayed for an endtime book to read that was more uplifting than a few I have read. One with God's love as the theme more so than the hard-core depraved times of the end. I was not disappointed in my answer to prayer. the future is upon us the end is near please be ready...
This one is pretty good. Nathan gets frustrating to the point of wanting to quit reading the book. I wish God did speak clearly and the angels would appear like in the book. It just doesn't happen in real life though. This is end of the world post tribulation story where saints will go through the tribulation.
Falling:Apocalyptic Fiction(Saints of Salvation Book 1)
I enjoyed this book. VJ Dunn has a way of taking future facts and making a good fictional account of how events may take place during the Apocalypse. I enjoyed the humor because it represented to me that there is hope and joy as long as one believes in the Lord Jesus.
What a great, thought provoking read! With every thing happening in today's world, you can see how close this scenario is! This is an awesome, biblically based book and it will be difficult to wait for the next!
VJ Dunn does another brilliant job Of captivating her audience .From the first chapter you will remain on the edge of your seat and just might find yourself not being able to outfit down
This was a well written story about how life could unfold in the end times. It is a good clean read that I enjoyed reading. I would recommend it for age 13 and up. I would say this book, left behind on steroids. LOL
I really enjoyed reading this! God is so good to us! This book is fiction, but it's about our one true and living God. The author does an amazing job telling the story and bringing truth and humor along with it!
If I didn’t already believe in the one true God after reading this book I would definitely believe in him now. This world as we know it is slowly coming to an end and our Lord and Savior will be back for us soon.
Shows the way to ask Jesus into our hearts and lives. Praise God! Thank you for showing the way through a story that is so easy to understand God's love for us.
Falling Apocalyptic fiction Saints of Salvation book one
Very intriguing story of the last days of the earth we know. The Tribulation.... Will Christians be raptured before or will they have to endure ? Question is old and still not answered the same way by people of faith. The previous series that I read had them Raptured before so this was interesting to see a different opinion and the possibilities that we could have to face.
The story was OK a bit long-winded, but my big question was and I don’t believe I read it, I hope I didn’t miss it, but was this story taking place after the rapture? Were Tammy and Nate left behind? Did Tammy become a believer again after the rapture? I’m a bit lost!
Great book on apocalyptic salvation! None of us know exactly when Jesus will return, but as is clearly stated in the book,if you read your Bible and keep watch, you will be able to see that it is near!
