My life is built on secrets. I thought I knew them all.
When Bruno rides up on a Harley, all muscled and tattooed, it isn’t just the bike that purrs. I’m drawn to the wolf shifter in a way that can’t be denied.
But when he can’t take his eyes off me, it’s not for the reason I’d hoped.
He knows more about me than I do.
My past isn't what I thought it was. My enemies are much more powerful than I’d ever imagined.
My destiny alone remains the same. I’ll do whatever it takes to secure the future of werewolves...
Lucía Ashta is the internationally top 20 bestselling author of young adult, new adult, and adult paranormal and urban fantasy books, including the series Magical Creatures Academy, Witches of Gales Haven, Smoky Mountain Pack, and Supernatural Bounty Hunter.
When Lucía isn't writing, she's reading, painting, or adventuring. Magical fantasy is her favorite, but the action, romance, and quirky characters are what keep her hooked on books.
The storyline has me finishing the series, but the more I read, the more repetitive it gets. The constant repeating of the bloodline is a little annoying. There are also some holes in the plot that make it not make sense. Interesting characters here and there though. Just not as developed as they could be. More sensationalist actions than development.
Well that ending broke me just a bit. Lucia Ashta has definitely outdid herself from book 1. Bridget & Jake Bordeaux did an amazing job of bringing book 2 to life. Seriously, some of the accents that they due for this dual narrated audiobook are so well done.
This shifter paranormal romance has such a different take on shifters & others in the paranormal world then I have seen in other stories. I really enjoyed where this book went from the ending of book 1, however that ending really hurt. Fingers crossed that we get good news at the start of book 3.
Again, there is sadly not much heat in this book thanks to the events going on during the story, but I have high hopes for future books.
I cannot wait for book 3 to come out on audiobook! I really need to know what happens next after that ending.
This is such a fab continuation of this series! Once again it grabbed me from the very start and is fast paced and gripping! There’s action, fighting and tons of excitement as we follow Casia on her journey in this hot and sexy paranormal shifter romance. Wolves, magic, emotions and a little cliffhanger to keep you hooked, just waiting on book three please!!
I am usually quite happy to delay my reviews of Book 2 of any series - it's usually like the ridiculously stereotypical middle child of a series: Not quite as engrossing and well-paced as the first book and more of a stopover to get you to the really cute and usually wilder younger sibling. My apologies to middle children everywhere. But this middle child hits all the right notes - pace, story development, and character awesomeness! I am thrilled to have read it and enjoyed it so much on its own merit!
Except... Uhm... I still really desperately want to meet the gorgeously wild younger sibling to this delicious piece of writing!
Just how many Naya look-a-likes are running around with faux race-saving blood?! Cassia's dream of blending her immortality with werewolf DNA is taking longer than she thought, and she hasn't even realized yet that her "creations" have no intention of doing ANYTHING the psychotic immortal tells them to do. While Naya and Meiling are contained in a red bubble of immortal pain, Naya's could-be mate Bruno, and her Rocky Mountain pack alpha Maverick are doing their best to get them back. And Bruno still believes that the woman captured with Naya is his alpha, Lara... This second Rocky Mountain Pack book is a globe-trotting, hang on to a cliff face by your fingers, Hail Mary, paranormal romance like you've never read before! Highly, highly, recommended!!!
I was REALLY interested in this story in book 1. I liked the whole "savior of the wolf race" bit and that there were more supernatural creatures than just vamps and shifters. However, that thrill was short lived. I started getting bogged down by the pages and PAGES of internal musings, that the story lost some of it's luster. Regardless, I began book 2.
This book was worse than the first. The internal musings were not lessened, in fact there seemed to be more. I am confused about a few of the supernatural beings. Throughout the story Mages and Immortals have been spoken of as though they are separate. Like Vamps and shifters, both supernatural but different species. Yet the author refers to Cyrus as the immortal mage. The author speaks of the difference between werewolves and shifters. Shifters are born by other shifters, and even though it is never actually said, werewolves are created. Shifters have freedom to painlessly shift forms, yet werewolf shifting is tied to the moon. That's fine.. but the author keeps repeating over and OVER that Naya is the last of her sacred shifter bloodline.. but not one person thinks it's odd that someone BORN to shifters (some supreme, and powerful shifter bloodline) has torturous shifts that were tied to the moon?!?!
Add that to the fact that at 35% of the SECOND book and there hasn't even been a KISS, yeah no thanks.
There may be answers coming in future books, but I'm so irritated by what I already read I'd rather get a pap smear than keep reading this. Sorry, not sorry.

‘Wolf Lies’ is book two in Lucia Ashta’s Rocky Mountain Pack series.
Firstly I just want to say that this ends on a cliffhanger that is going to have you screaming and raging. Now with that little tidbit out of the way let’s get on with the review.
This book picks up right where ‘Wolf Bonds’ ended with Naya and Meiling being captured by the Immortal Cyrus, while Bruno and Clove are unconscious by Magic.
Get ready for one heck of a journey so much goes on in this book that it’s hard to not to want to mention each and everything things that goes on. But I’m not going to do that cause it will be cruel of me to go and spoil the experience for you. So get comfy, Silent your phone, send the kids away, get ear plugs, hide in a closet, do whatever it is that will give you the freedom and alone time that is needed, and enjoy the ride you are about to experience.
This book has everything you want and need in a book, it’s got awkward situations, action, drama, angst and suspense. It’ll have you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning right to the end. In the past I have found that the second book in a Trilogy to be a bit slow and overloaded with unnecessary scenes and story. I did not feel like that with this, I devoured this book like a starved beast, and when it was over I needed more. Looking forward to the next book to see how things are going to pan out.
This book shoots off from the end of Wolf Bonds and-- much like a drunken puppy on a joyride-- takes you on a journey that you did NOT see coming. Part Freaky Friday with werewolves, this book has so many twists and turns in it that I honestly did not see coming. And, yes, this book packs a LOT of supposition and story-telling around it's twists and turns. Which is quite amazing considering how much of the story is built on fabrications.
The story picks up after the end of Wolf Bonds with Naya somehow in the clutches of yet another mortal, who for some reason thinks she is Meiling. While Cassia is trying to figure out what happened and how Meiling escaped, they return to Meilings prison, err... the Vampire Monastery. Filled with two-faced vampires and bodies who feed them, can Naya continue the ruse that she is her sister when, she is around people who know Meiling far better than she.
This book was a thrill-ride of epic proportions and, much like Cassia, the Immortal Goddess- it was a pleasurable journey, as long as you didn't look too closely at the skeletons lurking underneath.
Wow, the immortals in this book are sick maniacs. Talk about vicious. And Cyrus is a pervert. Naya is so frustrated in this book. She can't escape Cyrus' magic dome. Neither can Meiling. Through this all the way Meiling takes everything in stride and is so calm makes Naya angry. It's so annoying that they finally find each other only to have Cassia take Naya. You'd think if Cassia had watched them all this time she would know the difference between the two. Apparently she didn't spend enough time watching them. The sex dream Naya has about Bruno is hot. It's hilarious that she is woke up because she was moaning and other things in her sleep. I would be scared of all the turned on vampires. What's sick is Cassia volunteering to teach her all she knows about the erotic arts! Gross, she's as evil & twisted as they come. I feel sorry for Bruno having to explain what was happening to him to Meiling, embarrassing! I just hope that Li Kang survives Cassia. I want him to be able to tell Meiling his last words to Naya.
The stakes just got higher! Oh my that was quite a ride! I absolutely loved continuing to have Naya's and Bruno's points-of-view as she tried to escape and he tried to find her. And Cassia - being in her mind was showed how complex she is. She isn't a cookie-cutter villain and her power and her self-preservation are just so interesting to see play out from her POV. The panic and need for Naya's pack (and definitely Bruno) to find her feels incredibly real and LA is able to weave moments of levity to keep the intensity of the story from getting too deep. She brings in characters from her other series set in this world, and these two are a hoot! Oh my goodness! I already knew I needed to read her other series, but the brothers just put Magical Creatures Academy to the top of my TBR. I definitely recommend this series and cannot wait to start Wolf Honor!
Wolf Lies picks up from Wolf Bonds with Naya and Meiling captured by the Immortal Cyrus and Bruno and Clove knocked unconscious by his magic. Naya and Meiling are unable to find any means of escape and Naya is again rendered unconscious by Cyrus's magic. Upon awakening she finds herself in Cassia's possession on her way to the Monastry Meiling grew up in, with Cassia believing Naya to be Meiling. Meanwhile Bruno and Maverick plan a rescue attempt that almost goes horribly wrong when Naya attempts to escape with Li Kang's help. With the likely price of failure being death, will Naya be able to hold off changing to her wolf?
Ending the book on such a cliff hanger is just cruel of Lucia Ashta, I need the next book NOW.
More surprises are in store in this read! This is the second book of the story and has more surprises to throw at you.
A fun and unique shifter read that had me itching to see what happens next. I enjoy the banter and the selflessness that comes with a touch of snark! Even with a good heart the characters are just roses and rainbows.
It ends in a cliffhanger that will leave you holding your breath!
Narrators continue to blow me away. A globe spanning list of characters all with their own unique personalities and accents are done flawlessly.
Wow!!!... this book is a wild ride, so much happens and we get to know more about the immortals 😳 Love the way the bond between Naya and Bruno is manifesting, can't wait to see the sparks fly when they're finally together but, after this damn cliffhanger 😭... need the next book NOW!!! 😩 Oh, and we have some crossovers, love to keep seeing some of our beloved characters from this amazing world, appearing now and then!!! 🥰
This book is packed with full of surprising situations. Buddy got on my last nerve vasilating back and forth between”mate, not ‘mate from brother Wolf. Meanwhile Maya and Meiling have teamed up together, discovering they are one of 3 maybe. The vampires involvement with the immortals is super scary because neither have humanity lingering. So ready to know what happened at the end of this tale; what a cliff hanger!
This book is all forward motion. I love the continuation of the story! I absolutely love learning about the immortals. And the inner workings of the supernaturals in this world. During a fight, there is this death scene that blew my mind. Lucía Ashta is inventive and very creative with her writings. I highly recommend you give Lucía Ashta's work a read.
The second book in a trilogy is often the slowest one. But not this one! There is action, magic, and lots of excitement! It's a book you just can't put down before you have finished reading it, and that cliffhanger! The only negative thing I have to say about it is that I now have to wait until January to get the next book ^^'
Naya was in the gym for awhile, even fighting with Bruno. A strange attraction was going on. He too was affected. As she was going to shower, she was attacked! Not harmed, but taken from behind. A female from the size. How could anyone get past the guards?? What's happening now.
This is the second book in the Rocky Mountain Pack series. Nia learns that she is not the only remaining werewolf. She now has to survive Cassia. Bruno is determined to find Nia and make her his mate. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next one. Bridget and Jake Bordeaux did a fantastic job narrating this book.
I really loved this book! As I said in the review of book 1 I normally don't like wolf books but Lucía made me love them. So if you feel the same like me please try out this book series! You will NOT regret it. I don't wanna give spoilers but let me say I cannot wait for the third book!!
This is the second book of the Rocky Mountains Pack series, the books should be read in order. What a fast paced and twisted story. Again it's one of these stories you can't put down. I can't wait to read the next part.
I love the many points of view of the story it helps you really feel what the characters do. I can't wait to see what Naya and Bruno have in-store for them next!!! Off to grab book 3!
Oooo, it's getting deeper into the story and I'm obsessed! So much is going on, I'm totally hooked on the journey. There's plenty of action type scenes which are super entertaining!
Again another cliffhanger has me wanting the next book asap :D
Another great book: Wolf Lies book 2 of Rocky Mountain Pack series. It’s like a cat and mouse tale chasing each other trying to find the one that’s missing. Literally a cliffhanger ending
Oh my! So much to unpack and that ending!!!! This series keeps getting better and better. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next. Very intriguing series
This was a very mail biting on the edge of your seat drama of good and evil! When the heart strings are played you can't help wanting the very best outcome..
There’s so much going on in this book . Naya finds out all she’s been told was lies . I can’t wait for Naya and Bruno to be together is going to be explosive.
