Time is ticking away for Tacca and the Raider Delving Clan....
The previous devastating events inside of Tacca’s dungeon were only the beginning of a wider invasion of the continent of Abenlure. The death of so many Raiders inside of her arena at the hands of the Invaders would normally be a boon to the Fairy-turned-Core and the nearby Nursery Cores, but the attrition of the Raider Delving Clan’s numbers is worrisome. Especially when an unsettling discovery up to the far north will revise everything they know about the Interdimensional Beings that are invading their world.
Thankfully, Tacca isn’t alone in the fight to save everyone; Trevelyan and the rest of the Raider Delving Clan are doing everything they can to stem the invasion, even though they are being systematically pushed further south. In addition, while the former Fairy is doing her best to train the nearby Raiders to become strong enough to combat the powerful Invaders, she is also working with Head Instructor Lapis and a multitude of other Dungeon Assistants to figure out a way to utilize her unique Omen Charge Ability to eliminate the protective barriers surrounding their mutual enemy.
When events start to spiral out of her control and the world’s doom is upon them, however, not even her vaunted Ability will be enough to save them. With hope in short supply, their only chance at survival will be to discover the secret behind the Invaders before time runs out.
Find out how it all ends in the thrilling conclusion to The Hapless Dungeon Fairy series!
This story contains Dungeon Core elements such as dungeon construction and defense, LitRPG/GameLit mechanics such as character progression and stats, and contains NO harems/sexual content or profanity.
This was a fairly average Dungeon Core LitRPG series. It had some fun ideas but never quite managed to live up to its potential.
I have to admit I struggled a bit to finish this one. There was just not enough in the story or the writing to hook me through the 42 hours of audio in the complete series box set and by the time I got to this final book my interest was definitely on the wane.
We did get a satisfactory conclusion to the invasion story arc at least.
Rating: 2 stars.
Audio Note: Miles Meili did a good job with the audio.
Jonathan Brooks did an amazing job of drawing me into the world of Tacos and her comrades. Experiencing the ups and downs as they try to overcome the godlike invaders. Can't wait for what comes next...
Tacca has defeated an invasion force of the inter dimensional warriors. She knows that this far from over though and they are still destroying other dungeons and raiders. Tacca has a plan though.
This is the first piece of the JBDCM (Jonathan Brooks Dungeon Core Multiverse) this whole series will tie together will another of his series through another series! It is a great stand alone series, but it will be very beneficial for you to read this series. TJBDCM aside, this is a great series. It is a very interesting twist to start the series and all the way that it plays out. Miles Meili does a great job with the narration.
A satisfying conclusion to a unique series. This ties up all the loose ends while also leaving a little bit of a string for further tales in this world... if the author wants to do so. But even without more stories it is still complete.
Some of the unique solutions to the creatures invading the world make it certain that the fairy becoming a dungeon had to happen in order to save everyone. I also loved that the fairies had to break a lot of their long held rules in order to survive. That means their entire world is going to change, which would make an interesting thing to explore in a new installment.
The monsterous, multi-armed, invaders have been killing the Raiding Clan by the thousands and enslaving the civilian populace by the hundreds of thousands in the North for sometime. Tacca Gloomlilly, Dungeon Fairy turned Dungeon Core, has discovered a way to equalize the battle somewhat, if only she can apply it outside her Dungeon.
This novel is a Dungeon Core Fantasy series which may appeal to fans of the wider Fantasy genre and to fans of RPGs.
I really didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other books of this series because it was kind of too depressing. It was full of. Dooom and helplessness. Even the win felt hallow. I rather the bad dudes feel like that to my Op hero.
loving this story line. and after reading all four books they are a part of you . you don't want it to end. Defeating 100 foot enemies. Amazing. Sturge finds love... makes me super happy! Adventure and magic! Exploding enemies, just the right amount of blood and guts.
The final book in this series kind of spluttered. The whole book felt more like forcing it to lead to an "epic" ending and just forcing a setup. Overall this was a very weak finished but at least it is finished.
This was an interesting ending to the story. I loved how the story ended. Though I have to wonder if the invaders were a type of dungeon core like the individuals from Dungeon World.
Pretty good story, enjoyable all the way through. Good finish to the series, with good characters and good action. Looking forward to the Milton story.
Couldnt put it down! Another awesome finish to a fantastic Dungeon Core series. If only I could add as many stars to this book as some had ARMS! Well done!
