A decent short thriller featuring SBS Captain Tom Shepard and the quest to capture a terrorist financier.
A joint US/ UK operation goes wrong, leaving Shepard and assorted agencies from both countries to pick up the pieces. The suspect holds a great deal of intelligence on terrorist organisations and their activities and is highly sought after, not least by those who want to silence him.
There's a lot of military lingo and a fair few gunfights, but the core narrative is compelling. As a novella it's a relatively quick read.
This is a cracking entertaining short read which certainly packs a punch. Tom is involved in a botched operation to meet a money man for a terrorist organisation who is willing to provide invaluable information. Many good people die and when Tom has recovered, he sets out to seek retribution on the killers and the traitors who betrayed them.
The level of detail here is exceptional and it's a breath-taking read spanning many countries. Although it is the second book in this series, it can be read as a standalone. I hope there's more to come.
