My ascension through blood and tears to become Saanire Aurelia Rior didn't matter—I felt like an imposter walking into the gathering of Rior, like a child playing dress-up with powers I hadn't grown into yet.
As autumn fades to bitter winter, Aurelia is running out of time to follow Lucien, Aamon, and the others to the distant northern mountains where the long-lost Rior sanctuary lies hidden. An ethereal beast and dangerous storms bar the way . . . but so does the shard of memory lodged in Aurelia's heart. Reliving her mother's murder, she now sees herself rotting before her own eyes, unable to sleep, unable to focus her riore.
When she finally reaches the secluded valley, the truth of why the Rior have stayed hidden for a millennium is worse than anything she could have imagined. Aurelia must use her forbidden blood and the powers that come with it to save those she loves, right ancient wrongs, and close the wound that has plagued Iyarri society since the Night of Bloody Feathers.
Melissa Lynn Herold is artistically-talented, scientifically-minded, and magically-fascinated, something that manifests in both her fiction and nonfiction. An herbal alchemist, Melissa owns and runs NightBloomingwhere she blends up herbs and oils that grow real-life fairytale hair and has published two nonfiction books, Rehabilitating Damaged Hair Naturally and Coloring Hair Naturally with Henna & Other Herbs.
Melissa's debut into published fiction is the darkly immersive Heaven's Silhouette, her debut novel and the first book in the Iyarri Chronicles (September 17, 2019).
She lives with her husband in a sweeping river valley with their mutinous cats and garden dotted with honeybees.
Ascension's Reckoning is the third and final book of the Iyarri Chronicles, a high fantasy trilogy with a lush worldbuilding and captivating winged creatures. What an amazing end to the series! Melissa Lynn delivered the most perfect culmination to Aurelia's story. If you haven't read books 1 and 2 watch out for spoilers below!
Ascension's reckoning had me by it's talons! The writing is truly whimsical and will transport you to this magical world of the Iyarri. Aurelia has finally gone through her ascension as a recognized Rior, a High Iyarri Empath. She must now travel with the help of her two sworn Nisroc, to reach her friends at the Rior Sanctuary. They must journey through a harsh winter and unforgiving terrain. To make matters worse, something dangerous is trying to keep Aurelia and her fiends from Lucien and the others.
This series will take hold in your heart and stay there for a while. Since this is the end of a series, I can't give much details about the happenings, but know it was satisfying in every way.
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review!

My Opinion: Bang Bang!! Finally I completed the book with a bang, undoubtedly this is the best series I read in the recent times. 🍷This is the third book in the series and I couldn't believe I would come this far, I'm honestly proud of myself because this series is like a treat to oneself, especially if you enjoy reading fantasy and books with deeper imagination capacity and if you're a creative person and looks forward for enchanting and marvelous stories then this book is for you. I was waiting to read this since a long time, I was highly eager to know how the story turns out and I was quite impressed by the way it's turned. . . Being extremely honest, this is the best and my most favorite book from the entire series because it has that aura which each chapter carries, it comes off with so much of suspense and thrill that made me want for more and more, the author's narration is smooth but at the same time, it's like splash!! You can't really predict what's next until it's done.
Character building is top notch, especially Aurelia is the heart of the story, the storyline went with high twists but it never felt too much or bulky, it was just perfect and exactly what I would want in a great fantasy book.
I got a lot of memories with this series and especially the characters bring the nostalgia back, which I would love to relive again and again. Iyarri chronicles is definitely one shouldn't miss. . Rating: 4.5⭐️

It was a very fast paced and action packed ending to the series. It was exactly what I expected her book to be after The first two books being like this well. I am still in love with the iyaari part of the story (Or maybe I just like wings) and the main character Aurelia yes she cares deeply for her Nisroc ( which are my favorite iyaari cuties pies in the whole book love them). Like I said the book is fast paced. Sometimes a bit too fast so it's actually take longer to read because so much is happenin. But in the end it was all worth it. If you love action you will love this❤️
I read this book for a review tour and got the ebook from the author.
It was a very fast-paced and action packed ending to the series. It was exactly what I expected her book to be after the first two books being like this as well. I am still in love with the Iyarri part of the story. Or maybe I just like wings;) and the main character Aurelia has finally gotten a little of my respect in this part. In former books I found that she was selfish at certain point and maybe spoiled🤔 but I’m not sure about that. That’s my personal opinion. But now that’s a lot less. Yes she cares deeply for her Nisroc ( which are my favorite iyarri cutie pies in the whole book. LOVE THEM) and she has started to be less miserable and pitiful and more about the actions and helping where it really matters. Like I said the book is fast paced. Sometimes a bit too fast so it actually takes longer to read because so much is happening. But in the end it was all worth it. If you love action you will love this.
Ascension’s Reckoning is a captivating conclusion to the Iyarri Chronicles. Over three books, Melissa Lynn Herold has painted a colorful, striking picture of beautifully flawed, fully fleshed out creatures and the worlds they inhabit. I enjoyed this series immensely; the books are well-written, well-paced, and keep you wanting more. Melissa Lynn Herold has truly created a heavenly work of art.
I literally read this book in a day. It's fast-paced and engaging like the rest of the series, and I was eager to see the resolution of the characters' story arcs. The ending was satisfying and it was fun to see how Aurelia came into her own. Highly recommend all three books.
A great ending to this series, I love so much about this series, the imagery, the language, the characters, the twists. It is great and I suggest to all fantasy lovers. The world building is just divine ;)
