Bare & Unfiltered

Rate this book
This is a collection of sonnets exploring the emotions and aspirations felt by people at several stages in life. Self-liberating poems in this book explore “ambitions, inhibitions, creations, and torn news of salvations” [from sonnet 37]. Structured as rigid fourteen line poems, these stimulating and soulful poetic lines through the perceptive of a young mind will make you retreat inwards, and find solace with just being yourself.

Book:- Bare and Unfiltered
Author:- Kavya Shah
Format:- Kindle
Rating:- ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

The book is a combination of Poems or Sonnets. Each poem explore emotions deep and original.
You can read the book to understand your individualism, and the power of 'self'. The author had explored unique and original emotions in a magnificent manner.
Each poem expresses a raw emotion to every reader on behalf of the poet.
The book is divided into 4 sections:-
• I
• They
• You
• Her
In the first section, the author focuses on individuality and self-esteem. Readers here will learn how to love oneself and how to heal the soul.
"written in the corner of the bathroom"
This is one of the most awesome poems. It talks about 'a new world' , 'bright smile', and 'timid mind'.
In the second section, the author talks about how people continuously 'judge', 'pass comments' & 'talk at your back'. But, what's important is to keep one's personality unchanged due to 'they'.
"Anger" :- I loved this sonnet the most in the second section. It talks about how sometimes we have be a failure to hold back the fierce, ferocious nature. "Anger" comes so quickly and vanishes!!
In the third section, the author talks about 'You'. 'You' is the only one who can teach oneself about 'how to grow in life.
The fourth section deals about 'Her'. 'Her' is my favourite portion of the sonnets in this book. The author had jotted down the sonnets in such a way that you won't come to know who is "she" , but will still connect to every single line.
Unfiltered emotions within every 'she' is reflected in an outstanding way.
" i am but an object" :- This part really hit me hard.
Overall, the book is a quick read. You will surely love the depth of words, images (sketches).
Strongly recommend for poetry lovers!!

Thank You.

The sonnet is a popular classical form that has compelled poets for centuries. Traditionally, the sonnet is a fourteen-line poem written in iambic pentameter, employing one of several rhyme schemes, and adhering to a tightly structured thematic organization.

"Bare and Unfiltered" is a collection of sonnet which are bold and frank.
The poems are relative to female folk and it narrates the restrictions that society forces on females, either if it is about judging their physical appearance or judging their decisions.
The book is divided into 4 parts.
I, They, You & Her.
My personal favourite sonnet is "Alive".

The poems penned down straigh from the heart which are unfiltered as the title suggest.
The poems are too mature and thought provoking.
The illustrations could have been better because they look messy but again it suits the plot hence no flaws in it.
I felt the first part sonnet very bold and the next inspiring and realistic.
Overall it was a good read.

This is a poetry book having ocean of deep meanings of a single word. All the poetry is like your unfiltered emotion,
Totally relatable also, it will give you an idea of 'living' and 'sorting of issue'.
Author piled the inspiration in her poretey. she empowered you with the chaos in the crudeness of the word.
There is maturity in each construed word of deep meaning.

🌻It took some time to complete this book. It gives me strength since I understood the author.
This was the time when I was not getting it properly but still my mind resist me over this and I completed the book with the understanding just because it is beautifully written with every instinct you can relate.
