This was fine but I think it was the writing style that didn't grab me. I felt very detached from the events unfolding.

This is a well written Viking romance with a cast of strong characters centering on Sven and Ava, The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with all the happenings along the way. She had me glued to the pages with all the anxiety and fear as well as the danger and violence. The scenes are painted in vivid detail and the story moves quickly and smoothly. What starts as an arranged marriage slowly turns to love. I enjoyed reading their story and am looking forward to Gisla and the Bishop's story. Highly recommend this series if you're into Viking romances.

That's Sven on the Cover for Sure:
This story is about Sven. His brother King Ozais from book one is sending Sven on a mission to marry the daughter of an enemy to gain a treaty.
Sven is far from being a gentleman and it was fun following this barbaric also intelligent warrior through his courtship with Ava.
If you like brawny alpha men that turns into a hunk of love, then I recommend this story.
Terrific and exciting ending that's worth waiting for.
Adult Advisory: Physical Abuse is present in this story.
This book is part of a series of Vikings. Each book leads into the next one.

Minus some editing corrections, this was an amazing story.

This is an arranged marriage story with a brute prince and a young woman who wants an adventure. Their love comes through in dark moments and the ending is just beautiful. The dialogue and banter between characters is comical so if you like a little comedy mixed in with romance, it’s worth a try. This is a quick read but didn’t need to be any longer.

I have mever DNFd something so fast after a bad scene. Terrible book! Openly cheats on the woman he claims as his wife. He does it with a total disregard for the potential of making a bastard and the safety of the servant who was to be punished for their fornication. I may never read another viking book again. It was perhaps too accurate of the mentality of a viking at that time at the cost of any believable romance.

I like this book a lot more than the first one. The feelings from the characters and scenes that took place felt right! I like how Gisla is such a badass! I adore how Sven came around and is fully Ava’s now! The belt scene was ruff and so so sad but between that and how Sven acted in the beginning it was exactly how Vikings would have behaved. There actions were not romanticized in these books.

Gripping, with a modern feel, without being over the top. I was invested in the characters ,by the first chapter and entralled by the last

It was an OK book. But after the servant and the all the beating there first time, I just couldn't get into it. I only finished it so it didn't ruin my book goal.
