The Dark Brothers #6

Seized to Sacrifice

Rate this book
She has no memory of her past. They remember her crimes well. Can love save them, or will everything they care about be destroyed?

She doesn’t know anything about herself, not even her own name. Trapped in a cage, all she can do is wait for her turn to be auctioned … until a mercenary dressed in black releases her.

She’s drawn to him and the other two lords of his keep, but though their eyes are always on her, all she sees in them is hate. They don’t want her to be free. They know who she is, they despise her for wrongs she can’t recall, and they might not be the men they seem to be at all.

With their world on the brink of destruction, she may be the only one who can protect it … if she can remember who she is. But time is running out. A powerful enemy is searching for her and, when he finds her, he’ll use her to make sure there’s nothing left to save.

Can she unlock her past before it’s too late? Are these men who claim to be hers really who they say they are? Can she trust them?

Dark Fantasies. Dark Antiheroes. Dark Romance.

Kyra was 18 when she read her first romance, 19 when she left the US for the UK, 20 when she decided to stay in London, 25 when she met her now husband, 30 when she got married, 31 when she had kid 1, 33 when she had kid 2, and 36 when she was diagnosed as autistic.

She now lives a few miles outside London with her husband, the two (likely neurodivergent) kids, and a cuddly cocker spaniel named Patch who likes to roll in bird crap.

Not all of her stories have neurodivergent FMCs but representation is important, especially when so many women are not diagnosed until well into later life!

She writes PNR, Romantasy, and Contemporary why choose where the enemies to lovers journey is rough but worth it!

The Dark Brothers series has been a rollercoaster ride from book one, with men that were rough, tough, and hard to convince they needed the women they caught.
And in each story, the men treated their woman callously at first because they were convinced she’d done something wrong.
But once they saw their Fourth for who she was? They’d do anything to keep her,to make her happy.

The world they lived in was slowly crumbling, and dark forces were gaining power.
So,while these men were finding their reason for living, other things were getting worse by the book. Which leads me to Seized to Sacrifice.
I was torn between needing this ARC badly and dreading the sadness of knowing there wouldn’t be another….

Ryder,Nyx and Thorne are the Dark Brothers that find back the woman they’d shared their life with long ago.
Only problem is,she doesn’t remember them.
So punishing her for throwing them out doesn’t feel as good as they thought it would.
Adding in the fact that she’s obviously been in a bad situation and is very ill, makes it even harder to go on.
Thorne’s Beast doesn’t want to punish her at all, even though Thorne does, and Nyx doesn’t like to see their woman so…vulnerable, hurt and alone.
Rye is the only one that’s convinced she deserves everything they do to make her pay,but even he feels…..guilt?…when she’s hurt by the people that he makes her work with.
If only they could make her remember their shared past, and what she did….

Since this is the final story, and since só much is being revealed,i’m going to leave it here.
Because i know that if i say more,i’ll say too much, and you really need to follow them on their journey without me spilling the details!
The only thing i wíll say is,that their story is heartbreaking.
But the end is só worth the pain!

I really want to thank Kyra for taking me to this wonderful world.
With deliciously dark and desirable men.
With sweet, lovable women that were strong enough to “tame” them.
For sharing the ARC’s with me,and all she asked in return was an honest review.
I’ve seen a glimpse of what she’s planning next, and i can only hope to see more…..because it sounds GOOD!

This is the sixth book in the Dark Brothers series and I am so sad that it’s the end of the series!! This world has been so fun to read and be a part of and I want to thank the author for sharing this unique and complex world. While these stories followed a formula, I’m not even mad about it because I just really loved Kyra’s alpha men and fierce women.

In this final installment, we see the world is falling apart and the shadows from the dark are consuming the light. When Ryder, Nyx and Thorne stumble upon a woman, they realize it is the woman that holds their hearts. But that woman ripped their hearts out and betrayed them for her own benefit…casting them aside as if they were trash. Or did she?

Thrust into a situation where she doesn’t know who she is, how she came to be where she is and unsure of why these three men hate her, “Elle” feels lost and alone. She remembers nothing and isn't sure how to navigate her reality. Ryder, Nyx and Thorne want to punish her for her past betrayal but they are also drawn to her. The more time they spend together, the more they realize there is something much bigger at play and their hurt and betrayal is misplaced.

The only one of the bunch that sees everything for what it is is Thorne’s beast and he isn’t on speaking terms with Thorne. Can they all come together and build a future together or will the darkness destroy them all?

There is so much meat to this story with great twists and turns and I really enjoyed it. I did feel like there was a little character development missing with the female MC but the steam, story and final battle was awesome. Looking forward to what Kyra has in store next!

First, so sad to come to the end of this series- each book was such a great read and I’m so excited to see what Kyra comes go with next! This book brought us Elle, who apparently wronged greatly her men Nyx, Thorne and Rye. After centuries of searching Rye happens upon her at a slave auction, where she has no memories of her past or even who she is. The storyline, as always, follows their journey where all is not what it seems. There is fantasy, action and a large dose of spice! The book is around 300 pages and was a very quick read- would recommend to anyone! Check trigger warnings for darker themes.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The grand finale...

All of your questions will be answered. The walls between the Light and Dark Realms will shake and tumble, monsters will be unleashed, and the origins of the Dark Army will be revealed. You will discover what became of Gaila, and this book will also herald the end of so many things you've come to love. Read it.

Good conclusion to the series. We get to see all the fourths of the previous books and all loose ends are neatly tied together.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This was a wonderful conclusion to the Dark Brothers series. I’m so sad that it’s over but will just read it all again. I really enjoyed the characters in this one and the added layer of Elle’s encounters with the beast. I loved getting to see the rest of the units as well in this story.

I can’t wait to see what this author does next!

Wow

Really loved this whole series. A little dark and some sexy times. But also such a good story. Just enough sex without taking more pages than needed for it. Can't wait for more from this author!

Over too soon

I'm going to miss this bookverse. The books are spicy and push q!nk buttons. I love how this last book neatly tied the whole series together even more than the books that came before. I also like the acknowledgment that Elle can only do so much—the inhabitants of each place will have to make things work themselves. I did not expect the change that came for the Dark Brothers camp. The series (and this book) is a great read.

MUST READ series!!!!

I finished all 6 books within 5 days, reading a little every chance I got. I usually don’t get into the books where the characters swap out but they all went so well together, I was intrigued to read the next. Definitely a must read, you won’t regret it! Can’t wait for the next spin off!!

Brilliant series- hooks you in & takes you on a journey

Loved reading these books - each character has her own strengths & personality which the writer teases out. Running right through all the books is a back story which has its roots in mythology. A great series.

I have now read all the books in this series. It was an endurance challenge to be sure. Not because it was slow because it was not.

There is just so many things that was wrong with these books. I will try to get to them all.

The first book in the series didn't really go with the others. The other characters tied into the other books. It was only in the last book that the characters from the first book are seen again. And only for a brief insignificant moment. As if the writer realized it and added that part to tie them in.
One of the things in the first book that bothered me was the MFC inherited an estate. A beautiful well kept estate. But she chose to live with her men in an old rundown forge. 🤨 Why??

All the books in the series flowed well until the very last were the ending was so rushed it was unbelievable. Things that never were explained. Other things that needed to be unpacked weren't. The book were not long enough to fully explain the things that should have been explained. As if the writer got bored or just ran out of steam.

I would say that this series could have been great with more effort but it couldn't. The writer can tell a story well. But there is a constant problem in all her books. Even in her other series.
The abuse all the MFCs went through in these books was so horrible. Many times the abuse was inflicted solely by the MMCs. Unforgivable things.
The only people who I think could understand and relate the the MFCs is someone suffering from stockholm syndrome.
To be abused this severely and not only be able to forgive and forget but also fall in love with the person or persons doing it is a warped reaction.

The spicy scenes were not. They were for the most part assault. Luckily the were rushed as well.

I must say reading this series and another by this writer makes me concerned If she truly believes the things that she has put in these books as acceptable in a relationship. It points to accepted abuse.

It concerns me that many young writers now day are writing books like this. There is already to much violence against women in the world. All these books do is gives the WRONG people the idea that all women truly want to be treated this way. It's all fun and games and fantasy until someone really gets hurt.
I don't like the thought of books being banned but if things keep going in this direction I fear it might happen.

What a perfect ending to the Dark Brothers Series!! Each book in this 6 book series, is a standalone that takes place in the same world. But in this last book, all the characters from the first five books come together!! I loved it, and seeing how they were all getting on!

Elle was a great character. There is so much about her that slowly becomes revealed, but even when her memory is completely gone and she doesn’t know who she is, she is so strong. But in a real way, in a way where she knows her place in life, but refuses to let it destroy her. I loved her character.

The guys, holy freaking hot men!! But grumpy, mean and angry at first. Real alpha-holes! I was trying to decide my favorite between Rylan, Thorne and Nyx. I would definitely say Nyx in the beginning, but Rylan really grew on me. It’s a hard choice, but I’d probably say Rylan. They’re more than your typical dark brothers and they’re dangerous. But they’re also sexy as hell! I even found The Beast sexy, in his own way!

If you enjoy dark rh romance, dark fantasy, and extremely spicy scenes, you will love the whole freaking series. It is sad to see it come to an end.

I couldn't wait for all the brother's with fourths to come together with the females and it did not disappoint! I can't wait to see what happens in the spin off series and I hope we get to see more of Elle, Lana, Eve, Maueve and the other fourths in the future series as well as all the children from the groups. Also can't wait to see how the fae thrive. Really fell in love with this series and so sad it came to an end but glad to know a spin off is in the works.

This was a great palate cleanser. I enjoy the darkest of dark books and this series was rather refreshing, very mildly dark for me with some great 🔥. I couldn't put this book down.
