When Cozy Mystery author, Patti Benning, isn’t busy plotting the deaths of multiple fictitious characters, she loves to spend time hiking with her rescue dog, Max, who is her bestest writing buddy.
Patti loves to cook and the food in her books has been tried and tested in her very own kitchen. She’s technologically shy, and stays away from social media a great deal, because it makes her feel more awkward and introverted than meeting someone face to face.
Writing is the perfect job for her because in her books, she gets to explore all the topics she loves, food, animals, crafts and reading. She loves her readers dearly, and is thankful for the opportunity to share with them through her work.
Another will written murder mystery family and friends relationships adventure thriller short story by Patti Benning (Homespun Crochet Cozy Mystery book three). The crochet club is meeting at a woman's house but she is not letting them in. Jo goes in and finds the woman 🚺 read in her bed. Then Jo finds another body, this of a man 🚹. Are the two bodies connected? Jo goes to a woman's house, finding a man attacking the woman. The man turns out too be the murderer. I would highly recommend this novella series and author to 👍 readers looking for a quick mystery novels 👍🔰 read. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa read books 📚. 2023 👒😊😢
I admit that I first started this series in order to pad my Goodreads challenge a little bit, since many of the books I read are much longer, and I want to try to pass up the number of books I read last year. But I also was really interested in the series too, having taken up crocheting once I retired. It also makes for good breaks between my preferred thriller genre, to lighten things up a bit. I have been able to figure out whodunnit each time so far, but the storytelling is well done, the characters are endearing, and the animals add an extra layer of sweet to the “short & sweet” novellas. I am onto a thriller next, but I will continue through the series in between thrillers.
The murder of a friend hit Jo pretty hard, but it was even worse when her name got tossed into the rumors and people started avoiding her and the store. I suspected someone early on and was happy to find out I was right. The investigating part is always interesting, and just maybe another person who used to be a friend might come around to being nicer, since Jo and this person did share the showdown with the killer. Always very cute with the alpacas and now Pearl the shepherding dog! I already borrowed the next book in KU.
Jo goes to her friends house for the crochet club meeting only to find her friends on the porch with no answer from the house. After a bit she gets the spare key and goes in to check. She finds her friend murdered. Rumors swirl that Jo is involved in the murder and townspeople begin to treat her as a suspect. She dives into trying to solve it and clear her name. Lots of twists and turns with a surprise ending. A fun read.
I am really enjoying this series. The characters are interesting and the stories well written. This book is a great addition to the series with a mystery that kept me guessing until the very end. I was impressed with the way everything came together in the end. A perfect one sitting read or one that can be read a chapter at a time in small chunks.
This one just didn't quite hold together for me. Why couldn't she defend herself against the gossip? Why didn't the other members of the crochet club defend her? They were all there when she arrived! And why was she uncertain whether Pearl would be good with the sheep. I thought Pearl had worked with sheep for her previous owner.
Love this storyline and the whole concept of farming, harvesting the wool and spinning the yarn to sell in her own store. Neighbors taking care of neighbors. Easy reads, leave me looking forward to the next one!
This is a completely enjoyable series and this newest book is excellent. The characters are enjoyable and the setting is as well. The storyline is well thought out with no unnecessary fluff, which I totally appreciate. A nice quick read, perfect for coffee break time!
Jo has herself knee deep in a murder mystery when someone murders her close friend. After some school kids spread a rumor that Jo murdered her friend, Jo must quickly solve the murder.
Book 3 is good, but then again anything Patti Benning writes is good. Jo’s little farm is getting bigger with the addition of 3 sheep following their owners murder. Can’t wait for the next.
Love this series! Unique main character, great setting. Well written effort that keeps the reader engaged from beginning to the end. I can't wait to read the next book.
Loved this book. Lots of twists and turns. The characters were believable and interesting. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes animals, mysteries and good clean fun.
