Great Story

Story of a woman who left without telling the baby daddy she was pregnant. Then gets married after said baby is a toddler. Said husband is a jerk and she decides to return home. With the conflict the town is facing and the romance that is heating up there isn't any shortage of drama in any one corner. The characters are great.

Young and scared, Emily left Adam’s Claw 14 years ago as a teenager when she discovered she was pregnant. Now she’s made another big decision - divorcing her husband and returning home.
Luke, a fire-fighting dragon shifter for Adam’s Claw, never stopped loving Emily, and always wondered why she left without saying a word. His reunion with Emily is sweet at first, and then he learns he has a son!
It takes a while, but Luke and Emily reconnect and seem to be back on track. But Luke’s job as fire-fighter is complicated by Unicorp, a company determined to acquire land in and around Adam’s Claw - and they burn the homes of anyone who refuses to sell.
Luke and Emily’s romance gets a HEA, but the drama with Unicorp is left to thread through the next story in the series.
This is a short, second chance, secret pregnancy, paranormal romance. It’s written in 1st person present tense, with chapters alternating the main character’s point of view.
I gave the story 4 stars because I had trouble understanding Emily’s later decisions. The romance was okay, but the drama around Unicorp and the house fires added excitement to the end scenes. I look forward to reading the next in the series of Adam’s Claw.

Book One in a Great New Series!

Adams Claw is a town where many dragon shifters live. Luke is the fire chief there and is having a hard time keeping up with all the new fires being set. They are sure it’s Uni Corp behind it but they don’t have any proof. Uni Corp is trying to force everyone to sell their property because there is a mineral deposit they want to mine.

Emily left Adams Claw 14 years ago when she found out she was pregnant. She is in the process of divorcing her husband and is returning to live with her brother until she can get on her feet and find a job and a place of her own. The last thing she is expecting is running into her son Griffin’s father the second she gets into town. She knows she is going to have to tell him about Griffin but she was hoping to put it off for a while.

When Emily tells Luke he has a son, at first he is really angry. But he know he has to get over that is he wants to have any kind of a relationship with Griffin. But as Luke is trying to get to know his son, Uni Corp goes after his new found family. Can he save them before it is too late?

'Dragon Protector' by Jean Stokes is the first book of her new series Adams' Claw and tells the story about Emily, a single mother moving back home, and Luke, a dragon shifter firefighter. Emily and Luke used to be sweethearts but when she became pregnant she left town and never told im. Emily is back in hometown with her son to start a new life after her divorce. While at the grocery store she She runs into Luke. Their attraction is still there but she never told him about their son. Will Luke find out about her secret? Can the two of them rekindle their old romance?

This is a great start to a new Jean Stokes series! Ms. Stokes has written an excellent book with likable characters, great dialogue, and fab world descriptors. The plot flows with drama, danger, secrets, laughs, passion, and plenty of heat. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one. Highly recommend.

Luke and Emily

This is a great series start! The book is well-written with good secondary characters, pacing and a mystery to book. Emily is coming back to start over with a few secrets. Her emotional journey involves whether to reconnect with her past love as well as the town she fled long ago. Luke has his emotional journey of whether he can start over with the woman he could not forget. There is plenty of humor and angst as there is a teenager in the house. There is also the question of whether it is safe for anyone, including Emily to stay as there are suspicious fires and other events happening to drive people out of town. Will Emily survive the homecoming with her son to find a happily ever after? Will Luke manage to solve the mystery of who is causing trouble in the town? This was a page turner from start to finish. I loved it and can't wait for the next one!

Solid start to this new series by Jean Stokes. Young, scared, and pregnant, Emily left her hometown of Adams' Claw to hide her pregnancy from her family and her Baby's daddy and the love of her life, Luke. Luke, a dragon shifter, had no idea why she left and was crushed, never finding another girl for him. When Emily heads home to escape her controlling, verbally abusive husband, she runs smack into Luke. This book is the story of the rekindling of their relationship and how she try to make amends fo raiding their son for 13 years. The book is well paced, has action, steam, and a bit of drama. I would have liked more about her parents and find out why his mother was such a bi**h. But overall a grid read and Free to read with your KU Subscription.

This is the first in a new series featuring Dragon shifters. Emily left Adams Claw 14 years ago, pregnant as a teen. She has now returned after a failed marriage only to run into her first boyfriend, her child’s father.
I don’t mind the secret baby trope. It is definitely preferable to the sudden baby trope. My issue here is I don’t feel Emily had a good enough reason for leaving. It is explained but not satisfactorily enough for me.
There is a mystery occurring as well. The town seems to have been targeted by a company looking to buy as much of the land as they can. I am assuming this story will follow on to the next books.
All together it’s a quick, fun read. I do wish I’d felt a little more invested in the relationship. However, the secret child issue was dealt with well.

This is a new series set in the small town of Adams Claw, Arizona. It is a second chance story with intrigue and secrets.
Luke Mertyns is not only the alpha dagon he is also the fire chief. He and his mixed crew of human and dragon fire warriors are up against a group called Uni Corp.
Emily has a very big secret she has kept from Luke for 14 years. She is finally returning to her roots in Adams Claw with her son Griffin. Hiding out from her husband until their divorce is final.
I enjoyed reading this wonderful story. It held my attention all the way thru. You just want to keep reading to find out what happens. It is a great start to a new series.

The book 'Dragon Protector - Second Chance Secret Pregnancy' is the beginning of a new series.
It is about Luke, a dragon shifter, and Emily, his Highschool sweetheart. She left him and the town, when she was sixteen and found out that she was pregnant. I couldn't really connect to Emily because I could not understand why she hasn't told Luke that she was pregnant. I also would have liked the book to be a bit longer 😉and see for example, how her parents react, when they find out, that their daughter is back.

This is the first book in the new paranormal romance series Adams' Claw. It's a steamy second chance surprise romance. I enjoyed Luke and Emily's story and am looking forward to reading more books in this series. Luke is a dragon shifter and Emily is human. Emily, sixteen, scared, and pregnant with her son Griffin leaves town never telling Luke she was pregnant. She's returning home a bit wiser and running from her soon to be ex-husband. Now she needs to tell Luke that Griffin is his son. How will he take the news? Is there a future for Luke and Emily?

I am loving the Shifter books lately. This one is about Luke, dragon shifter and fireman. He and Emily dated in high school, she leaves town abruptly. Years later she returns home to Adam's Claw, with her son Griffin after leaving her jerk of a husband. She runs into Luke in the grocery store on her way to her brother Vaughan's house. And thus the sparks ignite for them both. There is trouble in Adam's Claw and Luke and Emily are trying to work out their impending relationship along with him finding out Griffin is his son. IT is a good read, look forward to more.

Her stop to get groceries she runs in to Luke, a firefighter dragon shifter and the father of her son. Luke has never stopped loving Emily but how will he handle finding out he has a son she kept from him all these years.

This the first in the Adam's Claw series, it is a short paranormal romance with danger around the corner. This was a page turner for me and I am looking forward the next book in the series

What a wonderful start to a new series. Years ago, when Emily found out she was pregnant, she left town vowing to never come back. Deciding to divorce her husband, she and her son return to her hometown to stay with her brother. Her first stop to get groceries has her running into her old love and father to her son, Luke. Will this be their second chance or will the danger going on in town keep them apart? The story keeps you turning the pages with suspense, fear, action and love.

Good start to a new series

Luke is a dragon and the chief of the firefighters. He is trying to protect his town from an evil corporation when his high school sweetheart suddenly comes back to town after 14 years. Now that she and their son are there, he must protect them, too. There is an interesting end to the story, but it doesn't wrap up all of the loose ends, so there's more to come!!

I enjoyed this book for several reasons which include but are not limited too: the length of the book is perfect! Not too long nor too short, this narrative is perfect. The main characters are quite likeable and get things done with little fanfare. I do wish the mystery of the bad 'guy' was solved, or explained further, but then we wouldn't need another book! Fingers crossed.

This is the first book in this new paranormal series. This is the story of Emily who left after finding out she was pregnant with her dragon shifter boyfriend's child. She is back years later hoping to patch this up with Luke and become a family. The story flows well, the characters are likeable and have a great connection. Their journey will be a bumpy one. I am looking forward to read the next book and see where this series will go.

I absolutely loved this book, I was hooked from the very beginning. Luke is such an awesome character, I loved how forgiving he is. The danger, drama, suspense, intrigue, passion and so much more kept me turning those pages through to the end. So loved the surprise that happened towards the end, it was great.

Dragon Protector

Emily and Luke rekindle their high school years. After escaping a bad marriage Emily returns home with her thirteen year old son and confesses to Luke he’s a father. Unfortunately there is danger in Adam’s Claw that needs to be addressed with first. I couldn’t condone what Emily did but obviously Luke was the bigger dragon. A story that easily captivated my heart.

This is the beginning of a new series. It’s off to a good start. Love how the concept of the dragons are in full view and not a secret to the town. Thirteen years ago Emily left her town of Adam’s Claw pregnant and scared. She finally returns home to face her past and the love she left behind. Great read.

A young lady gets pregnant from her dragon shifter boyfriend in high school. She leaves town and ends up marrying a jerkface.
She gets her son and herself away from him and returns home.

This is a great second chance love story. Emily returns home after she divorces her husband of 10yrs. Luke is the father of Griffin her son but doesn't know he exists. Griffin loves being with dragons not knowing her is one himself until he starts to shift for the first time. Then he finds out who is father is. This is a must-read

Nawet nie zauważyłam jak skończyłam czytać. Mega króciutka historia jak dla mnie.
Widać, że od razu powinnam sięgnąć po drugą część, bo w gruncie rzeczy to historia główna została jedynie zaczęła, za to historia głównych bohaterów już się zakończyła.
