He's her best friend. She's been his since high school only she doesn't know it. But she's about to find out with a little help from a small town and a good friend.
I have a secret no one knows.
I'm in love with my best friend.
We dated in high school then she went away to school and I took over my parent's ranch.
We stayed best friends and to keep her I may have done something stupid...
Like sabotaging all her dates and relationships kind of stupid.
This time I think I went too far.
When she shows up pissed and pounding down my door I don't think either of us is ready for what happened next...
Kaci runs on coffee, chocolate, and Oreos. She loves her book boyfriends with tattoos, muscles, beards, and a little dirty.
Kaci loves romance books and has been jotting down ideas since she was in high school and is now putting the ideas down on paper. She believes in satisfying, happily ever afters with a lot of steam on the way.

I love the small town of Whisky Run created by author Hope Ford. Here is another author writing about this cute town and their possessive men.
Kaylee and Garrett have been best friends since childhood. They made a pact that they would get married at thirty if they were still single. Garrett has been in love with Kaylee forever and he is determined that she is going to be his. So he does everything possible to disrupt her love life.
Great curvy girl romance. Very well written and well developed.
Estoy pasando por un Reading Slump y como la rara que soy necesitaba un libro Trashy, corto y que más que un Friends to Lovers. I´M SWEAR que siempre me devuelven las ganas de leer.
A sweet read from this series. It has a second chance storyline as well as a friends to loves one, so if you love those tropes, this story is absolutely for you.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
This was a skim to the end for me, the “hero” dates a lot of women, has a playboy reputation around town. But let’s you know he’s only slept with a few of them, wanting to see if he felt like he did when he slept with the heroine. All the while the constant inner monologue is ‘I love her, only her’. Why he can’t commit is stupid, he keeps telling everyone he’s not good at relationships, how would he know he’s to busy dating and fucking other women. The heroine was such a pushover, all she did was say okay to him. They both were each other’s first but he let her go so she could attend college the next town over. Why they couldn’t continue to date was never addressed. He was no hero. She was just meh. I like Geo, he needs a good story. Liked seeing Violet and the other Whiskey Run characters.

I love Whiskey Run. I am not a fan of second chance romances or anything in which either character sleeps with another person during their time apart. They both dated others and he slept with a few women in between them being together when they were younger and when they got together in the book. This is the only major problem I had with the book but stuff like that ruins books for me. If not for that, I would have given it 4 stars.
The book was good otherwise, but I was often distracted by editing issues. There were some typos and a lot of comma mistakes.
Don't let my review keep you from reading the series, though. The Whiskey Run books are generally very good. This book included but once one of the characters has sex with someone else, whether it's on page or off page or before the book's timeframe if the H and h already know each other, the romance is ruined for me. I hate to give it only 2 stars, but that's how badly it bothered me.
This was a big let down. The Hero and Heroine's "love" is tepid, lukewarm at best. I started getting angry that he dated all these women, and he easily slept with a few. Any hero that says he loves the heroine, sleeps with her (they lost their virginity to one another on prom night), only to then move on to dating plenty of other women after her, and sleep with a few of them, is cheating. I hated that he dated other women to see if there is a spark. It only means that he never loved her. oh, not only that , he sabotaged all her dates and relationships. DNF this book. The heros and the heroins in the other Whiskey Run: Cowboy love curves series are safe, passionate and faithful to each other.

I loved this short story about two childhood and young adult besties who find love with each other in the small town of Whiskey Run.
This is part of a series about couples who find love in Whiskey Run. Each book stands alone and a different author writes each book about a different couple. I love this authors writing so I could not wait to check this one out and it was such a great story I could not put it down. But it is novella sized at about 100 pages.
The two stars in this book is Kaylee who grew up in Whiskey but who now lives and works in Jasper. She is still close with her best friend Garrett, who is a bit of a player with the ladies. Until Kaylee's friend Becca starts fixing her up and Garrett has to decide if he is willing to risk his heart and their friendship for more.
It was a sweet, hot, flirty, romantic story and I really loved it. I adored the connection Kaylee had with Garrett and their close knit families.
A sweet and romantic story about being friends to lovers. They fell in love years before but both were afraid to change their status and to loose their friendship. But nobody could compare. Sweet, steamy, romantic, made me roll my eyes quite a lot but with a HEA. Not safe because both of them were with others l, after being together at 18. Nonetheless a sweet story 😍😍😍😍
Garrett knows Kaylee is the woman for him. She's been his best friend since they were kids and he's not about to let her be with another man. Is he ready to move beyond friendship when she has clearly friend zoned him? He can't watch her to on another date and wants her with him every day. Now is his time to show her he wants more.
WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Garrett and Kaylee have known each other since high school. They dated their senior year and did all their first together. When Kaylee wanted to go off to college Garrett let her go he needed to stay in Whiskey Run to work on his families ranch. Now Kaylee lives in Jasper and Garrett is the boss of his family ranch. They talk all the time to one another but are now friends, although they made a pack to get married if they weren't when they turned thirty. Every time Kaylee has a date, Garrett is there and somehow sabotage it. Kaylee's best friend hooks her up on a blind date, Garrett comes over and tells her to cancel so she does. When Garrett heads back to his ranch Kaylee calls her best friend to let her know that Garrett showed up so she had to cancel her date. Kaylee heads to Whiskey Run every other week to check in on her dad, but she also stops by to see Garrett. When Kaylee is about to go on another date Garrett shows up and asks her to go to dinner with him. Kaylee cancels on her date once again. Garrett takes Kaylee to a friends ranch and has a table set up under twinkling lights. After dinner they head back to Garrett's ranch, they begin kissing, he tells her they don't have to do anymore. Kaylee tells Garrett she wants him, so he takes her to his bedroom and he pleasures her then they make love. Kaylee wakes the next morning wrapped in Garrett's arms, they fix breakfast together. Garrett asks Kaylee to have her dad over for dinner and to let him know what is going on between them. Kaylee heads back to Jasper to work all week, by the time the weekend comes Garrett heads to Jasper and stays in Kaylee's apartment. When she is done working and comes home she finds Garrett talking to one of her blind dates. Kaylee introduces Garrett as her friend, when the guy kisses her Garrett gets mad and leaves. Kaylee heads to her friend's and sobs all night. The next morning her friend puts her in the shower and then they talk. Kaylee's friend tells her she know they both loved one another, Kaylee is shocked to hear that. After some thinking Kaylee heads back to Whiskey Run to talk to Garrett. While Garret is working around his ranch he starts to think that the reason he pushed so many woman away is because they weren't Kaylee. Garrett tells his right hand man he's going for a drive around his ranch. It gives Garrett time to think he needs to go and find Kaylee to apologies and get her back. Garrett can't see his life without Kaylee in it. When Garrett takes a sharp turn he sees a cow in the road and turns to avoid it but slams into a tree and everything goes dark. When Kaylee arrives at the ranch she finds Garrett's right hand man who tells her he went on a drive to clear his head. Kaylee heads out on the drive then she comes upon Garrett's truck smashed up against a tree. Kaylee yells to Garrett when she opens his door she sees blood, she checks his pulse and looks for injuries. Kaylee gets on the radio to call for help, soon Garrett's right hand man is there and then soon the ambulance. Garrett is taken to the hospital, after several days of waiting for him to wake up he finally does. Garrett is released from the hospital and Kaylee stays with him to help him. Kaylee needs to head into work for a meeting so she has her dad come stay with Garrett. While Kaylee's dad is there Garrett asks him for permission to marry Kaylee, he grants it. Once Kaylee is home she tells him why she needed to go into work. Kaylee tells Garrett she is going to work remotely and live in Whiskey Run with her dad. Garrett tells her no, he wants her to live with him, he wants to marry her and raise a family with her. Kaylee tells him she wants all of that too. Six years later, they are married. Garrett's parents moved back to Whiskey Run and build a home on the ranch away from everyone, they want to be around their grandchildren. Kaylee is pregnant with their daughter and they have a son Alex. It's the weekend Garrett of their pack to marry one another and they're both thankful they didn't wait. Kaylee quit her job and is now helping Garrett out on the ranch and a rancher's wife. Life hasn't gone according to plan, but it turned out better. Garrett is committed to Kaylee and his family and that's all they both ever wanted.

she BFFs to young lovers, back to BFFs, back to lovers?
While this is part of a multi-author spin-off series, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. However, for maximum reader satisfaction, I recommend the Whiskey Run stories be read in publication date where possible. Within a few of them are some reoccurring scenes and characters, including the town matchmaker and diner owner, Violet, and previous couples. These are completed from different POVs and help make for a more complete picture of the town and its residents.
These have been very fast reads, with a surprising amount of detail built in. I am loving the continuity of this series and the ‘matchmaker’ angle with Violet. She has earned herself quite the reputation for getting the right two people together, or at least creating the situation for them to meet and interact.
I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There were a few grammatical issues, such as missing and/or extra inserted words, incorrect word choice and punctuation.
The more concerning part for me are the inconsistencies, not so much with the formatting issues (more info listed below), but with the two different ages given. This is a main component of the storyline, as this is the back up plan Garrett is counting on to make her his wife without having to risk anything. Therefore, I had to lower the rating.
There are two separate issues accounting for the formatting inconsistencies. The first is with the inclusion or exclusion of names in the headers / marquees at the beginning of the chapters. The second is the way contractions and possessive words break to the next line in the Kindle copy. I have had the same settings for the past 18+ months and this is the first time I experienced an issue.
⛔️ Contains scenes that may be a trigger or offensive for sensitive readers. These include adult language, adult intimate scenes and serial monogamy with a fear of commitment … 😁
Here is how the story begins:
Kaylee and Garrett have been BFFs since elementary school. They even dated and experienced all theirs firsts together, but went back to being BFFs after high school when Kaylee went to college. She had dreams of bigger things outside of Whiskey Run and Garrett’s revolved around his family’s ranch. Her parents were older when she was born and then her mother died when Kaylee was still young, so the two of them made a pact that they would be each other’s fall back plan. If both of them were single when they turned 30 years old, they would marry and have babies.
What she didn’t know, and Garrett would never tell her, was that Kaylee was his. She has been his since they first met, but he needed time to focus and set things up for their future. When he dated in the past, he looked for someone better for him than Kaylee, and they just didn’t exist. So then he dated, a lot, but none went past two dates, and most of the women never even got a second. The very few that he was intimate with just felt wrong so there weren’t any repeats. This gave him the reputation of a player.
Over time, Garrett even convinced himself that he wasn’t good at relationships, but is that true? What if he tries to acknowledge his feelings and he ends up losing her? He wouldn’t survive … Should he wait the 5+ years until they reach 30 and take a chance on losing her? Or risk everything?
'Committed Cowboy' by Kaci Rose is the fifth book in the multi-author Whiskey Run: Cowboys Love Curves series and tells the story of Kaylee and Garrett who grew up together and are still best friends. They shared many experiences growing up including losing their virginity after prom. Kaylee and Garrett made a pact that night, if neither were married by 32 they would marry each other. Garrett had already decided before that Kaylee was the only one for him but they were too young to get serious. Plus Kaylee was going to college and Garrett didn't want her to miss out on the experience.
While Kaylee was in Jasper going to college Garrett worked on his family ranch and took on-line business courses in preparation for their future. Kaylee was unaware of Garrett's plans or feelings for her since he was sticking to their pact. He did have a knack for messing up her dates.
Ms. Rose has written a delightful addition to the series. The interactions between Kaylee and Garrett are funny and sweet. I thought it was funny how Garrett sabotaged Kaylee's dates. Alhough this book is short it is well written with likable characters, witty dialogue, and an engaging plot. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but satisfying read with their glass of wine.

I love this author and this short story is no different to her regular novels. Not particular to reading novellas because as they are short in length and tend to be rushed, but is not the case here. The story is smooth and unhurried, the characters clearly and well defined; best friends since childhood with an agreement to marry each other if neither have done so by reaching 30+. Garrett is in love with Kaylee, has been for years and every girl he has been involved with, compared to her fell short. He still lives on the ranch in Whiskey Run. Kaylee lives in Jasper, after having left town to further her education and is still to find a man who can gain her interest - Garrett is still close, with telephone calls every day, weekend visits, etc., and seems to be there at the right time and place whenever Kaylee has a date. There are hidden feelings, misunderstandings and a lack of communication which prevent the relationship moving forward and everyone sees it but them. A good addition to the series; I have not read all books in the series but have enjoyed those that I have read.

This was a great friends to lovers romance. It was no surprise to me that this story was great because if someone knows how to write a good cowboy romance it’s Kaci Rose. I was so excited when I saw that she was writing a story in this series and this story didn’t disappoint me in the least.
Garrett and Kaylee have been friends since childhood and they shared a steamy night after prom but promised each other that it was a one time thing. Garrett wanted to make sure that Kaylee got her education but he always planned on ending up with her so every other girl he has dated has fallen short. So he has been labeled a player.
I loved how Garrett kept messing up Kaylee’s dates even if he didn’t want to admit that that was what he was doing. He couldn’t deal with her being with anyone else but was afraid that he wasn’t good enough for her. The chemistry between the two was wonderful and when the story ended I missed them already.
Crossing The Invisible Line - Garrett and Kaylee have been best friends for ever and it was a friendship that came as easy as breathing. However, Garrett has been in love with Kaylee, since they made the ‘Single At Thirty’ agreement and kept it to himself, so he doesn’t rock the boat. Unfortunately, everyone around them, other than themselves, can see their connection and the love they have for each other. It would take a few bumps and shakes, for them to finally get their act together and pursue a life of happiness together.
I really enjoyed reading this story, as it had a great plot line and characters. I was invested in Kaylee and Garrett’s love story from the beginning and couldn’t help but root for them to get a happily ever after. It will happily recommend this book for your next reading pleasure.

This book is a part of the Whiskey Run: Cowboys Love Curves series and focuses on Garrett and Kaylee. They have been best friends since childhood and have been in love with each other for years without the other knowing. They made a pact together that if they were single when they turned 30 they would get married to each other. Even though they love each other they are both afraid to make a move and potentially ruin their friendship. This doesn't mean that Garrett didn't try to put an end to any and all dates that Kaylee went out on. He didn't want her to get serious with anyone and potentially losing her to them. They have a couple bumps in the road before they get their HEA but once they got their communication down packed they ended up with a great HEA. I loved this story! Great addition to the series!

Committed Cowboy is the story of Kaylee and Garrett.
Best friends to lovers, she thought it was a friend with benefits but he was in it for the win and played the playboy to make everyone and her go away. He would ruin her dates with any guy, either showing up at the date or telling her to cancel and that he was in town. It was just mostly back and forth with both of them ngl. What made me mad was that he kept saying that she was his then not claiming her and saying he doesn't want to ruin the friendship. Like they lost their virginity to each other. Damn anyways, it was alright. He gets into an accident after their fight and she finally realizes she's always loved him. Like it took him nearly dying for you to understand that you loved him lmao. They had kids and a HEA after he asked her to marry him. With her father's blessing ofc.
Kaylee and Garrett have been best friends for ever. They made a pact at sixteen that if they are both unmarried at thirty-two they will marry each other. For Garrett that was really the only plan for him. He keeps interfering in her dates, sometime even getting her to cancel them to go out with him.
Kaylee's friend keeps telling her what she is not seeing that Garrett is in love with her and will continue to stop he from dating other guys.
This is a more than a best friends to lovers story. They both love each other but are afraid to change what they have. Tragedy strikes and opinions change. This was a great story of a deep love for each other.

Great read. Garrett and Kaylee have been friends since they where kids, Garrett doesn’t want Kaylee seeing anyone else but he’s not ready or so it seems for him to admit how he feels about Kaylee. Kaylee and Garrett have a row which Garrett storms out and goes back to his ranch they don’t speak to each other after that. Kaylee has gone to the ranch to see Garret he has gone for a drive the ranch hand tells and shows Kaylee which way he has gone but when Kaylee turns the corner she finds Garrett and his truck smashed up and he is unconscious and bleeding after he is taken to hospital he is still unconscious and now they just need to wait for him to wake up then Kaylee can plan what she need to do to stay in Whiskey Run with Garrett.
Garrett and Kaylee have been best friends since they were kids and they made a pact that if they were both single when they were going on 30 they would get married. Garrett is in love with Kaylee though and is afraid of losing their friendship because he doesn't think he's good at relationships. Even though he won't tell Kaylee how he feels he won't let anyone else date her either he sabotages her dates. Kaylee is in love with Garrett too but fears he only sees her as a friend and that she'll only get him with the pact. Everyone can see that they're perfect together will they see it? You need to read this book to see what happens in Whiskey Run.

Garrett has been best friends with Kaylee and love her since they were teenagers. He didn’t want to stand in the way of her dreams so they made an agreement that he intends to honor and he has done everything possible to ensure that no man is allowed close enough to her to endanger their agreement.
Kaylee works in the city but returns home often to spend time with Garrett and her father. With the help of a friend she realizes that she and Garrett are more than friends and now she needs to convince him that they belong together now.
Kaylee and Garrett weren’t completely upfront about their feelings and their relationship which caused a little turmoil along the way but there is no denying that they were always meant to be.
One pact and a little sabotage....to get what he really wants
Committed Cowboy by Kaci Rose is part of the multi-author Whiskey Run: Cowboys Love Curves series. This is the first book I have read by this author. As I have read and really enjoy a number of the other authors in this series I was looking forward to exploring a "new to me" author. This is a second chance with your first love romance between Kaylee and Garrett. I did enjoy the story and the characters. There were a few times where it could have been tightened down a bit and Garrett needed a good boot up the "you know what". But overall it was entertaining and I will definitely read this author again.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Strong Friendship Kaci Rose’s “Committed Cowboy” is the fifth book in the Whiskey Run, Cowboys Love Curves series. Kaci adds her writing strength to this awesome series. Kaci has written a strong story about friendship turning into love. Kaylee has loved Garrett most of her life. They made a pact to marry each other when they reached the age of 30. Kaylee is trying to find someone special, but Garrett keeps finding ways to break up her dates. Kaylee lives in the city, while Garrett lives on his family’s farm. Garrett cherishes his friendship with Kaylee. Will Garrett decide to step up and give Kaylee what her heart desires?
I really enjoyed reading this story, it's kind of watching two people cause their own train wreck. Garrett and Kaylee have been best friends and sometimes lovers growing up. Everyone knew they were meant for each other but they fought it. It was fun listening to all the advice everyone was giving them. They did make a pact that if they were not married by the time they were 32 they would get married and start a family. They almost screwed that up. Read the book to see how you like it, I hope it's as much fun for you as it was for me. Written by Cindy :)

Committed Cowboy is fun and well written friends to lovers story with the perfect amounts of heat and misunderstanding that pulls you in and keeps you reading. Kaylee and Garrett have always been friends, - the are best friends, was each other's first and even are each other's fall back plan. They are afraid to admit what other already see... that they are meant for each other.
I love the back and forth the Kaylee and Garrett have with each other, they way others are not afraid to call Garrett or Kaylee out for how they feel. Great addition to the series and one you can't help get lost in.

This latest book, a stand alone in the series, centers around Kaylee and Garrett. They have been best friends since childhood. When Kaylee went to college, they made a pack that if they were still single when they were in their thirties, they would marry each other. Secretly, they were in love with each other. But each feared if things went wrong, what would happen to their friendship? It was sweet to see them achieve their HEA. This light, sweet novella is perfect for an afternoon of leisure. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Story Origin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
A wonderfully delightful book to read and cherish. Garrett and Kaylee have been friends forever and have made a pact that they will marry each other if they are both still single when they turn 30. The path they both follow, sometimes together and sometimes separately have the same outcome at the end. They definitely love each other but are afraid to tell each other for fear it will change their friendship. You will also fall in love with them as you follow them to their happiness.
